Let {X α } α∈Λ be a family of topological spaces and x α X α , for every α ∈ Λ. Suppose X is the quotient space of the disjoint union of X α ’s by identifying x α ’s as one point σ. We try to characterize ideals of C(X) according to the same ideals of C(X α )’s. In addition we generalize the concept of rank of a point, see [9], and then answer the following two algebraic questions. Let m be an infinite cardinal. (1) Is there any ring R and I an ideal in R such that I is an irreducible intersection of m prime ideals? (2) Is there any set of prime ideals of cardinality m in a ring R such that the intersection of these prime ideals can not be obtained as an intersection of fewer than m prime ideals in R? Finally, we answer an open question in [11].  相似文献

We introduce and study two new weak separation axioms called ΛΘ-R 0 and ΛΘ-R 1 by using the notions of (Λ,Θ)-open sets and (Λ,Θ)-closure operators.  相似文献

Let τ be the four-directional mesh of the plane and let Σ1 (respectively Λ1) be the unit square (respectively the lozenge) formed by four (respectively eight) triangles of τ. We study spaces of piecewise polynomial functions in C k (R 2) with supports Σ1 or Λ1 having sufficiently high degree n, which are invariant with respect to the group of symmetries of Σ1 or Λ1 and whose integer translates form a partition of unity. Such splines are called complete Σ1 and Λ1-splines. We first give a general study of spaces of linearly independent complete Σ1 and Λ1-splines of class C k and degree n. Then, for any fixed k≥0, we prove the existence of complete Σ1 and Λ1-splines of class C k and minimal degree, but they are not unique. Finally, we describe algorithms allowing to compute the Bernstein–Bézier coefficients of these splines.  相似文献

Abstract

If R ? T is an extension of (commutative integral) domains, Λ(T/R) is defined as the supremum of the lengths of chains of intermediate fields in the extension k R (Q ∩ R) ? k T (Q), where Q runs over the prime ideals of T. The invariant Λ(T/R) is determined in case R and T are adjacent rings and in case Spec(R) = Spec(T) as sets. It is proved that if R is a domain with integral closure R′, then Λ(T/R) = 0 for all overrings T of R if and only if R′ is a Prüfer domain such that Λ(R′/R) = 0. If R ? T are domains such that the canonical map Spec(T) → Spec(R) is a homeomorphism (in the Zariski topology), then Λ(T/R) is bounded above by the supremum of the lengths of chains of rings intermediate between R and T. Examples are given to illustrate the sharpness of the results.  相似文献

Let Λ1 and Λ2 be infinte-dimensional, Banach lattices such thatc o is not finitely representable in Λ2. Then the bounded linear operators from Λ1 to Λ2 form a lattice if and only if Λ1 is an abstract AL space.  相似文献

The sumN(R) of nil one-sided ideals of bounded index of a ringR is shown to coincide with the set of all strongly nilpotent elements ofR of bounded index. The known result thatN(R) is contained in the prime radical is highly improved and it is shownN(R) is contained inN 2(R). It is proved that the sum of a finite number of nil left ideals of bounded index has bounded index.  相似文献

Let algebra R = Λ/P, where Λ is a free algebra over a field w. gl. dim R: = {min n ¦? R-modules X, Y, Tor n+1 R (X, Y)=0}. In order that w. gl. dim R≤2n (w. gl. dim R≤2n+1), it is necessary and sufficient that, for any two ideals of algebra Λ, a left ideal A and a right ideal B, containing ideal P, the following equation holds: $$AP^n \cap P^n B = AP^n B + P^{n + 1} (AP^n B \cap P^{n + 1} = AP^{n + 1} + P^{n + 1} B).$$   相似文献

For a commutative ring K the conception of a strongly maximal ideal J was introduced by Kuzucuoglu and Levchuk in 2000. Denote by Rn(K,J) the ring of all n×n-matrices over K with elements from J on and above the main diagonal. Recent results on ideals of the ring Rn(K,J) for this case, ideals of the associated Lie ring and normal subgroups of the adjoint group are considered in this paper. Also ideals of Rn(K,J) for the case of an arbitrary associative ring K with the identity are investigated.  相似文献

Let S=K[x1,…,xn] be a polynomial ring and R=S/I be a graded K-algebra where IS is a graded ideal. Herzog, Huneke and Srinivasan have conjectured that the multiplicity of R is bounded above by a function of the maximal shifts in the minimal graded free resolution of R over S. We prove the conjecture in the case that codim(R)=2 which generalizes results in (J. Pure Appl. Algebra 182 (2003) 201; Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 2879). We also give a proof for the bound in the case in which I is componentwise linear. For example, stable and squarefree stable ideals belong to this class of ideals.  相似文献

In this paper, we study those rings whose semiring of ideals can be given the structure of a Gödel algebra. Such rings are called Gödel rings. We investigate such structures both from an algebraic and a topological point of view. Our main result states that every Gödel ring R is a subdirect product of prime Gödel rings R i , and the Gödel algebra Id(R) associated to R is subdirectly embeddable as an algebraic lattice into ${{\prod_{i}}Id(R_{i})}$ , where each Id(R i ) is the algebraic lattice of ideals of R i that can be equipped with the structure of a Gödel algebra. We see that the mapping associating to each Gödel ring its Gödel algebra of ideals is functorial from the category of Gödel rings with epimorphisms into the full subcategory of frames whose objects are Gödel algebras and whose morphisms are complete epimorphisms.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring and Max?(R) be the set of maximal ideals of R. The regular digraph of ideals of R, denoted by \(\overrightarrow{\Gamma_{\mathrm{reg}}}(R)\), is a digraph whose vertex set is the set of all non-trivial ideals of R and for every two distinct vertices I and J, there is an arc from I to J whenever I contains a J-regular element. The undirected regular (simple) graph of ideals of R, denoted by Γreg(R), has an edge joining I and J whenever either I contains a J-regular element or J contains an I-regular element. Here, for every Artinian ring R, we prove that |Max?(R)|?1≦ωreg(R))≦|Max?(R)| and \(\chi(\Gamma_{\mathrm{ reg}}(R)) = 2|\mathrm{Max}\, (R)| -k-1\), where k is the number of fields, appeared in the decomposition of R to local rings. Among other results, we prove that \(\overrightarrow{\Gamma_{\mathrm{ reg}}}(R)\) is strongly connected if and only if R is an integral domain. Finally, the diameter and the girth of the regular graph of ideals of Artinian rings are determined.  相似文献

We analyze properties of unstable vacuum states from the standpoint of quantum theory. Some suggestions can be found in the literature that some false (unstable) vacuum states can survive up to times when their survival probability takes a nonexponential form. At asymptotically large times, the survival probability as a function of the time t has an inverse power-law form. We show that in this time region, the energy of false vacuum states tends to the energy of the true vacuum state as 1/t 2 as t→∞. This means that the energy density in the unstable vacuum state and hence also the cosmological constant Λ = Λ(t) should have analogous properties. The conclusion is that Λ in a universe with an unstable vacuum should have the form of a sum of the “bare” cosmological constant and a term of the type 1/t 2: Λ(t) ≡ Λbare + d/t 2 (where Λbare is the cosmological constant for a universe with the true vacuum).  相似文献

The Asano-Michler theorem states that a 2-sided order R in a simple Artinian ringO is hereditary provided thatR satisfies the three requirements: (AM1) Noetherian; (AM2) nonzero ideals are invertible; (AM3) bounded. We generalize this in one direction by specializing to a semiperfect bounded orderR, and prove thatR is semihereditary assuming only that finitely generated nonzero ideals are invertible (=R is Prüfer). In this case,R ≈ a fulln ×n matrix ringD n over a valuation domainD. More generally, we study a ringR, called right FPF, over which finitely generated faithful right modules generate the category mod-R of all rightR-modules. We completely determine all semiperfect Noetherian FPF rings: they are finite products of semiperfect Dedekind prime rings and Quasi-Frobenius rings. (For semiprime right FPF rings, we do not require the Noetherian or semiperfect hypothesis in order to obtain a decom-position into prime rings: the acc on direct summands suffices. The “theorem” with “semiperfect” delected is an open problem.  相似文献

On an arbitrary (in general, noncompact) Riemann surface R, we study integral operators T and ∏ analogous to the operators introduced by Vekua in his theory of generalized analytic functions. By way of application, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the nonhomogeneous Cauchy--Riemann equation $\bar \partial f = F$ in the class of functions f exhibiting Λ0-behavior in the vicinity of the ideal boundary of R.  相似文献

In the present paper, we deal with a class of R 1-ideals of cancellative positive partial abelian monoids (CPAMs). We prove that, for I being an R 1-ideal of a CPAM P, P/I is a CPAM. The lattice of congruence relations associated with R 1-ideals is a sublattice of the lattice of all equivalence relations. Finally, we prove that an intersection of two Riesz ideals is a Riesz ideal and that the lattice of Riesz ideals is a sublattice of the lattice of all ideals. For a (countable) graph E and a unital commutative ring R, we analyze the ideal structure of the Leavitt path algebra L R (E) introduced by Mark Tomforde. We first modify the definition of basic ideals and then develop the ideal characterization of Mark Tomforde. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions for the primeness and the primitivity of L R (E), and we then determine prime graded basic ideals and left (or right) primitive graded ideals of L R (E). In particular, when E satisfies Condition (K) and R is a field, they imply that the set of prime ideals and the set of primitive ideals of L R (E) coincide.  相似文献

Congruences and ideals in partial Abelian monoids (PAM) are studied. It is shown that the so-called R 1-ideals in cancellative PAMs (CPAM) form a complete Brouwerian sublattice of the lattice of all ideals, and they are standard elements of it. In a special class of CPAMs, effect algebras, properties of ideals and congruences are studied in relation to the generalized Sasaki projections and dimensional equivalence.  相似文献

Let ? be a convex function on ?, let ?(σ) be a pseudodifferential operator with symbol σ, let Λσ be the set of its eigenvalues, and let m(λ) be the multiplicity of an eigenvalue λ ∈ Λσ. Under certain natural assumptions about properties of pseudodifferential operators, we prove that \(\sum {_{\lambda \in \Lambda _\sigma } m(\lambda )} \varphi (\lambda ) \leqslant \operatorname{Tr} L(\varphi (\sigma )) + R\), where R is an error term of the same order as the remainder term in the Garding inequality.  相似文献
