A New Sesquiterpene Lactone from Ainsliaea bonatii

A new sesquiterpene lactone, Ainsliaolide A, was isolated from Ainsliaea bonatii. The structure was determined on the basis of spectral data.     

A New Sesquiterpene Lactone from Scorzonera austriaca

A new guaianolide was isolated from the roots of Scorzonera austriaca. The structurewas elucidated on the basis of spectral methods including 2D NMR.     

Drimane-Type Sesquiterpenoids Derived from the Tropical Basidiomycetes Perenniporia centrali-africana and Cerrena sp. nov

Five new drimane-type sesquiterpenoids were isolated from cultures of the tropical basidiomycetes, Perenniporia centrali-africana (originating from Kenya) and Cerrena sp. nov. (originating from Thailand). A new pereniporin A derivative (1), a new drimane-type sesquiterpene lactam (2), and the new 6,7-Dehydro-isodrimenediol (3) were isolated from P. centrali-africana. In parallel, the two new drimane-type sesquiterpene lactams 5 and 6 were isolated together with known isodrimenediol (4) from Cerrena sp. This is the first report of drimane-type sesquiterpene lactams from basidiomycetes. The structures were elucidated based on 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic data, in combination with high-resolution electrospray mass spectrometric (HR-ESIMS) data. The compounds were devoid of significant antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities.     

Ircinianin,a Novel Sesterterpene from a Marine Sponge

Ircinianin ( 2 ), a new furano-sesterterpenetertronic acid, has been isolated from a marine sponge of the genus Ircinia. Structure 2 has been established by X-ray diffraction methods.     

Sesterterpene metabolites from the sponge Hyatella intestinalis

The sponge Hyatella intestinalis from the Gulf of California contains the new scalarane-related sesterterpenes hyatelones A-C and hyatolides A-B, together with the new scalaranes hyatolides C-E, hyatelactam, 12-O-deacetyl-19-epi-scalarin and the new norscalarane 12-O-deacetylnorscalaral B. The structures of the new metabolites have been established by spectroscopic analysis of the natural products and, in some instances, of their acetyl derivatives. The new compounds hyatelone A, 19,20-di-O-acetylhyatelone B, hyatolide A, 20-O-acetylhyatolide C, hyatelactam, and 12-O-deacetylnorscalaral B have shown activity as growth inhibitors of several tumor cell lines.     

柔软肉芝软珊瑚中的新二萜内酯

肉芝软珊瑚Sarcophytum是珊瑚纲,八放珊瑚亚纲,软珊瑚目中的一个属,软珊瑚肉质柔软而不被海洋中的动物所吞食,这被认为是与其次生代谢产物中含有能驱赶其它生物的化学防御物质有关,从而引起了化学家和药物学家的重视^[1,2],例如从乳白肉芝软珊瑚Sarcophytum glaucum和第氏肉芝办珊瑚Sarcophyton decasyi中均分离得到细胞毒活性相当强的二萜内脂Sarcophine^[3-5],Bernstein^[3]认为这类物质可能是软珊瑚的化学防御物质之一,最近我们在研究柔软肉芝软珊瑚Sarcophyton molle Tix.Dur.的次生代谢产物过程中,分离到两个在生源上与Sarcophine有密切关系的二萜内酯 Sarcophinone(1)^[6,7]和iso-Sarcophinone(2),其中2是新化合物。体外的生理活性试验显示,化合物1和2对艾氏腹水瘤细胞和水鼠S180肿瘤细胞均有显著抑制作用,本文报道了Sarcophinone(1)和iso-Sarcophinone(2)的分离和结构测定。

Multiflorin,A New Secoiridold Lactone from Jasminum Multiflorum

A new secoiridoid, multiflorin (1) has been isolated from the EtOAc-soluble fraction of Jasminum multiflorum (Oleaceace). The structure of I was determined by application of spectral methods.     

Phyllofenone A, a New Scalarane Sesterterpene from the Sponge Phyllospongia Foliascens(Pallas)

The present paper covers the structure of a new sesterterpene, phyllofenone A(1) , isolated from the South China Sea sponge Phyllospongia foliascens. Phyllofenone A is a member of the scalarane class of sesterterpenes with a (C-20, C-24)-bishomo-(C-25)-nortetra-cyclic skeleton. The structure charcterization was based on one- and two-dimensional NMR and mass spectroscopy with the assistance of molecular modeling. Phyllofenone A shows weak antifungal activity against Candida pseudotropicalis.     

A New Perylenequinone from Hypomyces sp.

Some metabolites of fungi and plants containing perylenequinones have been used as folk medicine for the treatment of many diseases1,2. A filamentous fungus, Ascomy-cetes Hypocreaceae Hypomyces (Fr.) Tul. sp., was found from the northwestern mountains of Yunnan Province, and cultured successfully in the laboratory. A new perylenequinone, named hypomycin A (1), was isolated from its mycelia. A New Virginae Butanolide from Streptomyces sp.

A novel butanolide, named virginaebutanolide F (1), was isolated from the lyophilized culture broth of Slreptomyces sp., along with a known compound virginaebutanolide C (2). Their structures including the stereochemistry were elucidated on the basis of extensive 1D and 2D NMR as well as HRESI-MS and CD spectroscopic analysis.     

A Novel Triterpenoid Lactone,Schiprolactone A,from Schisandra propinqua (Wall.) Hook. f. et Thorns

Schiprolactone A, a triterpenoid lactone with a new side chain skeleton was isolated from the stems of Schisandra propinqua together with schisanlactones A and B. Their structures were elucidated by spectral studies.     

Two new prenylflavonoids from Morus nigra L.

Two new prenylflavonoids, mornigrol E(1) and mornigrol F(2) were isolated from Morus nigra L. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods, especially 2D-NMR techniques.     

New Lactone and Xanthone Derivatives Produced by a Mangrove Endophytic Fungus Phoma sp. SK3RW1M from the South China Sea

A new lactone, 1,8‐dihydroxy‐10‐methoxy‐3‐methyldibenzo[b,e]oxepine‐6,11‐dione ( 1 ), and two new xanthones, 1‐hydroxy‐8‐(hydroxymethyl)‐6‐methoxy‐3‐methyl‐9H‐xanthen‐9‐one ( 2 ) and 1‐hydroxy‐8‐(hydroxymethyl)‐3‐methoxy‐6‐methyl‐9H‐xanthen‐9‐one ( 3 ), were isolated from a mangrove endophytic fungus Phoma sp. SK3RW1M collected from the South China Sea. This is the first report on xanthone derivatives isolated as secondary metabolites from Phoma species. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR techniques, and the structure of compound 2 was confirmed by X‐ray crystallography. Cytotoxicity assays showed that compounds 1 – 3 were inactive against KB and KBv200 cells.     

A Novel Secobetulinic Acid 3,4‐Lactone from Viburnum aboricolum

Bio‐assay‐guided fractionation of the CHCl₃‐soluble extract from the leaves of Viburnum aboricolum led to the isolation of a novel secobetulinic acid 3,4‐lactone, viburolide (=(6β)‐4,6‐dihydroxy‐3,4‐secolup‐20(29)‐ene‐3,28‐dioic acid 3,4‐lactone; 1 ). This is the first lupane‐type compound possessing such a lactone skeleton from natural products. Its structure was elucidated by spectral analysis and comparison with 6‐dehydroxy‐20,29‐dihydroviburolide ( 6 ) prepared from benzyl betulinate ( 2 ). Compound 6 was found to inhibit androgen‐independent human prostate cancer cells (PC‐3) with an IC₅₀ of 12.3 μM .     

A New Isomalabaricane Triterpenoid from Sponge Jaspis sp.

From the marine sponge Jaspis sp., a new isomalabaricane triterpenoid 22, 23-dihydrostellettin D (1) was isolated, and its structure was established on the basis of IR, MS and extensive 2D NMR spectroscopic analysis. It is a unique skeleton compound rarely obtained from Chinese marine organisms.     

A new polyoxygenated farnesylcyclohexenone from Fungus Penicillium sp.

A new polyoxygenated farnesylcyclohexenone, peniginsengin A (1), was isolated from the fermentation of Penicillium sp. YIM PH30003, an endophytic fungus associated with Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen. The structure was assigned based on a combination of 1 D and 2 D NMR and mass spectral data. The cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activities of compound 1 were investigated.
