Unusual coordination modes of arylthiolates in Mo(eta(5)-SC(6)H(3)-2,6-(SiMe(3))(2))(eta(7)-SC(6)H(3)-2,6-(SiMe(3))(2))

Treatment of MoCl(3)(thf)(3) with LiSC(6)H(3)-2,6-(SiMe(3))(2) (LiSAr) resulted in formation of the pi-sandwiched bis-arylthiolato complex, Mo(eta(5)-SC(6)H(3)-2,6-(SiMe(3))(2))(eta(7)-SC(6)H(3)-2,6-(SiMe(3))(2)) (1), while the analogous reaction with LiSC(6)H(3)-2-Ph-6-SiMe(3) afforded the trithiolate complex Mo(SC(6)H(3)-2-Ph-6-SiMe(3))(3) (3). The acetonitrile adduct Mo(SAr)(2)(CH(3)CN)(3) (2) was isolated from the CH(3)CN solution of 1, in which one acetonitrile is coordinated to the metal center in an eta(2)-fashion. Structures of 1, 2, and 3 have been determined by X-ray diffraction.     

Asymmetric synthesis of (7aS)-7a-methyl-4,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-1H-indene-2,6-dione and useful derivatives thereof

The enantioselective synthesis of the title compound, using Meyers' bicyclic lactam methodology, is described. This compound and a few of its derivatives are useful intermediates in natural product synthesis.     

Synthesis of 3,4,7,8-bis(3-R-benzo)-2,6-dithia-1,5-diaza-2,6-dihydroanthracene 2,6-dioxides

Derivatives of a new heterocyclic quinoid system, viz., 3,4,7,8-bis (3-R-benzo)-2,6-dithia-1,5-diaza-2,6-dihydroanthracene 2,6-dioxide, were synthesized by the oxidation of 3,4,7, 8-bis (3-R-benzo)-2,6-dithia-1,5-diaza-1,2,5,6-tetrahydroanthracene 2, 6-dioxides with lead tetraacetate in acetic acid or with phenyliodoso diacetate in benzene.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 3, pp. 343–345, March, 1985.     

Polyamides from 2,6,(7)-diamino-9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoanthracene and 2,6,(7)-diaminoanthracene

High-molecular-weight, film-forming, amorphous polyamides have been prepared from 2,6(7)-diamino-9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoantracene with adipic, sebacic, dodecanoic, isophthalic, 4,4′-oxybibenzoic, 2,6-naphthoic, 4,4′-bibenzoic, and terephthalic acid. Thermal elimination of ethylene from these polymers has yielded the corresponding polyamides from 2,6(7)-diaminoanthracene which were of high molecular weight, film forming, and crystalline.     

Photochemistry of 1-(2,6-dichlorobenzyl)-1,4-dihydronicotinamide

The cleavage of the N-benzyl bond characterizes the photochemical behaviour of I in methanol. Beside the coupling or the hydrogen abstraction products, the interconvertible 1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyridines VIa and VIb were obtained.     

Synthetic access of new 6-purineselenyl and 8-(1,3,4-thiadiazolyl)-7-benzyl-1, 3-dimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-(3H,7H)-dione derivatives

Abstract

New 6-purineselenyl, 1, 3, 4-thiadiazols bearing 7-benzyl-1,3-dimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-(3H,7H)-diones and (8-[2-(3-phenyl-5-substituted-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2(3H)-ylidene) hydrazinyl)-7-benzyl-1,3-dimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-(3H,7H)-diones derivatives were synthesized. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and MS spectrometry) and elemental analysis.
