The relation between quantities that characterize the pion–nucleon and nucleon–nucleon interactions is studied with allowance for the fact that, at low energies, nuclear forces in nucleon–nucleon systems are mediated predominantly by one-pion exchange. On the basis of the values currently recommended for the low-energy parameters of the proton–proton interaction, the charged pion–nucleon coupling constant is evaluated at gπ2±/4π = 14.55(13). This value is in perfect agreement with the experimental value of gπ2±/4π = 14.52(26) found by the Uppsala Neutron Research Group. At the same time, the value obtained for the charged pion–nucleon coupling constant differs sizably from the value of the pion–nucleon coupling constant for neutral pions, which is gπ2 0/4π = 13.55(13). This is indicative of a substantial charge dependence of the coupling constant.  相似文献

The reaction e + e ?→ωπ0 near a Φ resonance was studied with a spherical neutral detector at VEPP-2M e + e ? collider. Both main modes of decay of a ω meson were investigated: ω→π+π?π0 and ω→π 0γ. The probability of decay Φ→ωπ0 was obtained from the magnitude of the interference wave in the cross section for the reaction e + e ?→ωπ0→ π+π?π0π0: B(Φ→ωπ0) = (5.5 ?1.4 +1.6 ±0.3) ×10?5. The ratio of the partial widths of the ω meson was obtained from the ratio of the cross sections for the two modes: Γ(ω→π0γ )/Γ(ω→π+π?π0) = 0.0994 ± 0.0036 ± 0.0038.  相似文献

In order to determine the ηNN coupling constant we have measured the two reactions K?p→Λη and K?p→Λπ0 with a magnetic wire chamber spectrometer which contained a gamma counter for the γγ decays of π0 and η. The Λ polarization and the differential cross sections are given. The latter have quite different u dependences. Their ratio is interpreted, in terms of a nucleon-Regge exchange model, as the effect of a small ηNN coupling constant for which we obtain GηNN2 = GπNN2 · (0.26 ± 0.10) as allowed by SU(3). The large value given by Heisenberg's non-linear field theory, GηNN2 = GπNN2 · 0.9, is excluded by this measurement if the characteristic u dependence of the Λπ0 channel is attributed to Nα Regge exchange.  相似文献

We show that a “Coulomb-renormalized” ppπ0 coupling constant can be defined and deduced from experiment by applying a forward dispersion relation to Coulomb-modified p-p scattering amplitudes. The value determined in this model-independent way from the Livermore phase shifts is G2ppπ0 = 15.3 ± 0.3.  相似文献

The reaction d(π±, pπ±)n at incident pion momentum 340 MeV/c is analyzed based on a relativistic three-body formalism. The contributions of the various reaction mechanisms such as impulse processes, pion multiple scattering and nucleon-nucleon final-state interactions are investigated for several cases of typical kinematics. The impulse term is dominant when the recoil neutron momentum is small. On the other hand, the NN final-state interaction is found to be relatively important when the recoil neutron momentum is large. The effects of dibaryon resonances which have been suggested in πd elastic scattering are estimated using a phenomenological model. Comparisons with other work are also made.  相似文献

By combining results from the MARK-J at PETRA on Bhabha scattering, μ+μ- and τ+τ- production with recent world data from neutrino-electron scattering experiments, we determine unique values for the leptonic weak neutral current coupling constants gV and gA in the framework of electroweak models containing a single Z0. In contrast to previous analyses, we only use data from purely leptonic interactions, and therefore avoid the inherent uncertainties resulting from the use of hadronic targets. From the MARK-J data alone in the context of the standard SU(2) ? U (1) model of Glashow, Weinberg and Salam, we find sin2θW=0.24±0.11.  相似文献

In a relativistic unitary model for intermediate energy nucleon-nucleon scattering there are strong indications that the resonance-like looping behavior of the 3F3 and 1D2 amplitudes is not due to a resonance pole but to the coupling with the inelastic NNπ channel. In its most simple form the looping behavior is caused by a square root branch cut.  相似文献

Numerical results are presented for πd → πd, πd NN observables for 290 ? Tπ (MeV) ? 50. We discuss sensitivity of predictions for various input elements like the deuteron form factor, the range of the NNπ vertex and the parametrization of the background part of the P11πN scattering matrix and remark on possible parallels for A(π, π) and A(π, 2N) amplitudes. A comparison is made with previously obtained results of similar scope.  相似文献

Cross sections have been measured for the elastic and inelastic scattering of electrons from 70Ge and 72Ge for momentum transfers from 0.65 to 1.14 fm?1. Values for the parameters of a Fermi type ground-state charge distribution were obtained from a phase shift analysis of the elastic cross sections. The rms charge radius corresponding to these parameters is 4.07±0.02 fm for 70Ge and 4.05±0.03 fm for 72Ge. Using DWBA analysis the reduced transition probabilities for the electroexcitation of the 21+ and 31? states were found to be: B(E2, ω)↑ = 19.7±1.2, 26.8±2.0 W.u.; B(E3, ω)↑ = 36±5, 37±7 W.u. for 70Ge and 72Ge respectively. The Jπ = 3? assignments for the state at 2.562 MeV in 70Ge and 2.515 MeV in 72Ge are confirmed.  相似文献

An estimate of the A1NN coupling is made using axial vector meson dominance of weak form factors, PCAC and current algebra. We use this to predict a vanishingly small polarisation due to unnatural parity exchanges in πN → ?N near the forward direction. In contrast, the contribution to πN → ωN of the Z (the JPC = 2?? exchange degenerate partner of the A1) is found to be significant as indeed indicated by experiment.  相似文献

High statistics data for the reactions K±p → KS0π±p at 10 GeV/c are analysed. The K1(1?), K1(2+), and K1(3?) resonance parameters and production cross sections are calculated. The Kπ production amplitudes are determined as a function of t and the produced Kπ mass. Isoscalar natural-parity-exchange (NPE) is dominant. The t dependence of the K± NPE amplitudes have a cross-over at t = ?0.3 (GeV/c)2 for both K1(890) and K1(1420) production, being more pronounced for the K1(1420). Natural-parity-exchange interference effects are isolated. The NPE amplitudes are decomposed into pomeron-, f-, and ω-exchange contributions. S-wave Kπ production is found to be consistent with the Kπ partial-wave analyses of charge-exchange reactions.  相似文献

Measurements are presented of the cross sections for omega meson photoproduction at a mean energy of 3.9 GeV from nuclear targets of D, Be, C, Al, Cu, Ag, Au. An optical and Glauber model analysis of the coherent cross sections has been performed to obtain the ω-nucleon cross section, σωN, and the photon-omega coupling constant γω2/4π. Our results are summarised in table 4. We find good agreement with the quark model prediction that σωN = σ?N, and with the value of γω2/4π determined from the storage ring experiments and from an earlier complex nuclei measurement. However, we disagree with more recent complex nuclei measurements which found a high value of γω2/4π.  相似文献

Reduction techniques are applied to πd elastic scattering and π-absorption in a theory without anti-nucleons. In a one-pion approximation we derive two sets of exact coupled-channel equations for respectively the amplitudes Tπd,NN, TNδ, NN and Tπd, πd, Td, NΔ- Alternatively we express in terms of the absorption amplitude Tπd, NN available solutions for a three-body problem restricted to the πd and NΔ channels. We explicitly demonstrate that our model (which comes close to the one of Thomas, Mizutani and Koltun) strictly respects the Pauli principle and avoids double-counting. Using the same technique we determine amplitudes for the (π, 2N) reaction and for π (in)elastic scattering on general nuclei in terms of amplitudes amongst the NN, NNπ channels. Both the elastic amplitude and the πA optical potential are shown to decompose into a multiple scattering part based on an input πN amplitude without the P11 partial wave and calculable absorption corrections.  相似文献

We reevaluate the hadronic contributions to the muon magnetic anomaly, and to the running of the electromagnetic coupling constant at the Z-boson mass. We include new π + π ? cross-section data from KLOE, all available multi-hadron data from BABAR, a reestimation of missing low-energy contributions using results on cross sections and process dynamics from BABAR, a reevaluation of all experimental contributions using the software package HVPTools together with a reanalysis of inter-experiment and inter-channel correlations, and a reevaluation of the continuum contributions from perturbative QCD at four loops. These improvements lead to a decrease in the hadronic contributions with respect to earlier evaluations. For the muon g?2 we find lowest-order hadronic contributions of (692.3±4.2)?10?10 and (701.5±4.7)?10?10 for the e + e ?-based and τ-based analyses, respectively, and full Standard Model predictions that differ by 3.6σ and 2.4σ from the experimental value. For the e + e ?-based five-quark hadronic contribution to $\alpha(M_{Z}^{2})$ we find $\varDelta \alpha_{\mathrm{had}}^{(5)}(M_{Z}^{2}) =(274.9\pm1.0)\cdot10^{-4}$ . The reduced electromagnetic coupling strength at M Z leads to an increase by 12 GeV in the central value of the Higgs boson mass obtained by the standard Gfitter fit to electroweak precision data.  相似文献

The 3p-1s transition in pionic hydrogen was investigated with a high-resolution crystal spectrometer system. From the precisely measured transition energy, together with the (calculated) electromagnetic energy, the strong interaction shift of the 1s state was obtained as ϵ1s = −7.127 ± 0.028(stat.)± 0.036(syst.) eV (attractive). From the natural line width, measured for the first time, we determine the decaywidth of the 1s state: Γ1s(decay) = 0.97 ± 0.10(stat.)± 0.05(syst.) eV. With the recently calculated electromagnetic corrections the s-wave scattering lengths of an isospin symmetric strong interaction are deduced. The scattering length for elastic scattering of a negative pion on a proton is aπpπph = 0.0885±0.00003(stat.)±0.0006(syst.)mπ−1. The scattering lengthe for single charge exchange is found to be aπpπ0nh = −0.136 ± 0.007(stat.) ± 0.003(syst.)mπ−1.The experiment was performed at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland. A focussing crystal spectrometer with an array of bent crystals, the cyclotron trap (a magnetic system designed to increase the particle stop density) and a CCD (charge-coupled device) detector system were employed. The results from the pionic hydrogen experiment — together with those from the pionic deuterium experiment — were used to test the isospin symmetry of the strong interaction. The present data are still consistent with isospin sysmmetry.  相似文献

A new precision measurement of the ratio of the proton NMR frequency to the cyclotron frequency of free electrons in the same magnetic field, Ω p e p mc/e, has been performed. A cyclotron resonance linewidth of 5 ppm only and a reduction of the large space charge shifts, amounting up to the order of 50 ppm in earlier published measurements, enabled a high accuracy. The final result is Ω p e =1.5209945×10?3±0.5 ppm, where the NMR is referred to a long cylindrical sample of H2O, 0.2 m CuSO4. Corrected to the free proton, we get Ω p e =1.5210329×10?3±0.6 ppm. Combination of our result with an EPR-measurement ofLambe yields a free electrong-factor ofg=2(1+(α/2π)?(0.30±0.09) (α/π)2) in good agreement with the theoretical valueg=2(1+(α/2π)?0.328(α/π)2±...).  相似文献

A critical discussion of different methods of estimation of the coupling constant fπ3He3He2 is given. It is claimed that at present the best way of obtaining information on this coupling constant is to extrapolate certain differential cross sections, in particular, of the elastic 3He3H scattering, to the pion pole. The resulting value fπ3He3He2 = 0.055 ± 0.020 is smaller than the corresponding pion-nucleon value. It supports the expected shadowing effects inside the nucleus but disagrees with other more model-dependent estimations.  相似文献

The reaction γp →ωp(ω → π+π?π0 and π0 → γ γ) has been studied in ep interactions using the ZEUS detector at photon-proton centre-of-mass energies between 70 and 90GeV and ∣t∣ < 0.6GeV2, where t is the squared four momentum transferred at the proton vertex. The elastic ω photoproduction cross section has been measured to be σγp → ωp = 1.21 ±0.12 ±0.23 μb. The differential cross section dσγp→ωp/d¦t¦ has an exponential shape e?b∣t∣ with a slope b =10.0 ± 1.2 ± 1.3 GeV?2. The angular distributions of the decay pions are consistent with s-channel helicity conservation. When compared to low energy data, the features of ω photoproduction as measured at HERA energies are in agreement with those of a soft diffractive process. Previous measurements of the ρ0 and ? photoproduction cross sections at HERA show a similar behaviour.  相似文献

X-rays from the Kα transition (2P → 1S) of the π?d mesic atom have been observed. Their energy, 2592.8 ?2.0+1.6, has been measured by the critical absorber technique, using the MV absorption edge in bismuth. The strong interaction shift in the 1S state is ?4.8 eV, corresponding to a scattering length a(πd) = ?(0.052?0.017+0.022)mπ?1, in agreement with recent calculations. The intensity ratio Kα/Ktotal = 0.548 ± 0.015.  相似文献
