A 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol (PAR)-modified carbon ceramic electrode (CCE) prepared by the sol-gel technique has been reported for the first time in this paper. By immersing the CCE in aqueous solution of PAR (0.001 mol L−1), after a short period of time, a thin film of PAR was rapidly formed on the surface of the electrode due to its strong adsorption properties. A differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetric (DPASV) method was developed for determination of Ag(I) at the modified carbon ceramic electrode. The analysis procedure consisted of an open circuit accumulation step in a sample solution which was continuously stirred for 12 min. This was followed by replacing the medium with a clean solution where the accumulated Ag(I) was reduced for 15 s in −0.6 V. Then, the potential was scanned from −0.2 to +0.2 V to obtain the voltammetric peak. The detection limit of silver(I) was 0.123 μg L−1, and for seven successive determinations of 10, 100 and 200 μg L−1 Ag(I), the relative standard deviations were 2.1, 1.4 and 1.03%, respectively. The calibration curve was linear for 0.5-300 μg L−1 silver(I). The procedure was applied to determine silver(I) in X-ray photographic films and super-alloy samples.  相似文献

A cost-effective sequential injection system incorporating with an in-line UV digestion for breakdown of organic matter prior to voltammetric determination of Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) and Cu(II) by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) of a small scale voltammetric cell was developed. A low-cost small scale voltammetric cell was fabricated from disposable pipet tip and microcentrifuge tube with volume of about 3 mL for conveniently incorporated with the SI system. A home-made UV digestion unit was fabricated employing a small size and low wattage UV lamps and flow reactor made from PTFE tubing coiled around the UV lamp. An in-line single standard calibration or a standard addition procedure was developed employing a monosegmented flow technique. Performance of the proposed system was tested for in-line digestion of model water samples containing metal ions and some organic ligands such as strong organic ligand (EDTA) or intermediate organic ligand (humic acid). The wet acid digestion method (USEPA 3010a) was used as a standard digestion method for comparison. Under the optimum conditions, with deposition time of 180 s, linear calibration graphs in range of 10-300 μg L−1 Zn(II), 5-200 μg L−1 Cd(II), 10-200 μg L−1 Pb(II), 20-400 μg L−1 Cu(II) were obtained with detection limit of 3.6, 0.1, 0.7 and 4.3 μg L−1, respectively. Relative standard deviation were 4.2, 2.6, 3.1 and 4.7% for seven replicate analyses of 27 μg L−1 Zn(II), 13 μg L−1 Cd(II), 13 μg L−1 Pb(II) and 27 μg L−1 Cu(II), respectively. The system was validated by certified reference material of trace metals in natural water (SRM 1640 NIST). The developed system was successfully applied for speciation of Cd(II) Pb(II) and Cu(II) in ground water samples collected from nearby zinc mining area.  相似文献

An on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) preconcentration system coupled to flame atomic absorption spectrometer (FAAS) was developed for determination of copper and cadmium at μg L−1 level. The method is based on the on-line retention of copper and cadmium on a microcolumn of alumina modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and 1,10-phenanthroline and subsequent elution with ethanol and determination by FAAS. The effect of chemical and flow variables that could affect the performance of the system was investigated. The relative standard deviation (n = 6) at 20 μg L−1 level for copper and cadmium were 1.4 and 2.2% and the corresponding limits of detection (based on 3σ) were 0.04 and 0.14 μg L−1, respectively. The method was successfully applied to determination of copper and cadmium in human hair and water samples.  相似文献

A cost-effective sequential injection monosegmented flow analysis (SI-MSFA) with anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) detection has been developed for determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II). The bismuth film working electrode (BiFE) was employed for accumulative preconcentration of the metals by applying a fixed potential of −1.10 V versus Ag/AgCl electrode for 90 s. The SI-MSFA provides a convenient means for preparation of a homogeneous solution zone containing sample in an acetate buffer electrolyte solution and Bi(III) solution for in situ plating of BiFE, ready for ASV measurement at a flow through thin layer electrochemical cell. Under the optimum conditions, linear calibration graphs in range of 10-100 μg L−1 of both Cd(II) and Pb(II) were obtained with detection limits of 1.4 and 6.9 μg L−1 of Cd(II) and Pb(II), respectively. Relative standard deviations were 2.7 and 3.1%, for 11 replicate analyses of 25 μg L−1 Cd(II) and 25 μg L−1 Pb(II), respectively. A sample throughput of 12 h−1 was achieved with low consumption of reagent and sample solutions. The system was successfully applied for analysis of water samples collected from a draining pond of zinc mining, validating by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) method.  相似文献

Potentiometric stripping analysis (PSA) was investigated to assay simultaneously cadmium, lead and thallium present as contaminants in highly saline solutions used in hemodialysis. The saline matrices were sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium chlorides, sodium acetate, sodium bicarbonate and glucose, which constitute concentrates for hemodialysis. A 1000 μg mL−1 Hg(II) solution was used to prepare the mercury film electrode (MFE) and to carry out the stripping step. After a 30 s accumulation interval the analytes were simultaneously detected in the saline matrices without using masking agents. Determination limits of 80 ng L−1 for cadmium and thallium, and 50 ng L−1 for lead were calculated and a R.S.D. ranging from 0.5 to 2.2% (n = 3) was obtained measuring the analytes directly in commercial hemodialysis saline solutions. Recoveries from spiked samples ranging from 94.6 to 102.0% were obtained. The investigated metals were found in concentrations ranging from 2.7 to 5.7 μg L−1 for cadmium, 27.7 to 75.8 μ L−1 for lead and 9.6 to 18.7 μg L−1 for thallium in commercial hemodialysis solutions. The PSA method showed to be adequate to the quality control of saline concentrates for hemodialysis.  相似文献

This work exploited a sequential injection lab-on-valve (LOV) system for the determination of cadmium by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). A miniaturized electrochemical flow cell (EFC) was fabricated in LOV, in which a nafion coated bismuth film electrode was used as working electrode. The cadmium was electrodeposited on the electrode surface in bismuth solution, and measured with the subsequential stripping scan. Under optimal conditions, the proposed system responded linearly to cadmium concentrations in a range 2.0-100.0 μg L−1. The detection limit of this method was found to be 0.88 μg L−1. By loading a sample volume of 800 μL, a sampling frequency of 22 determinations h−1 was achieved. The repeatability expressed as relative standard derivation (R.S.D.) was 3.65% for 20 μg L−1 cadmium (n = 11). The established method was applied to analysis of trace cadmium in environmental water samples and the spiked recoveries were satisfactory.  相似文献

A sensitive anodic stripping voltammetric procedure at the bismuth film electrode (BFE) for trace analysis of copper (II) in the presence of gallium is presented. The new protocol circumvents the problems of overlapping stripping signals between copper and bismuth that previously hampered the analysis of copper at the BFE. The results illustrate that the addition of gallium not only improves the reproducibility of the bismuth stripping signal but also facilitates much improved resolution between the stripping signals of bismuth and copper. Investigations into the effect of gallium on the stripping response of copper and bismuth were studied showing a 4:1 gallium:copper mole ratio produces optimum signals from bismuth and copper indicating a possible stoichiometric relationship. Optimisation of other key variables including electrolyte composition, accumulation parameters and appropriate waveform settings were studied and optimised. The optimised procedures show a range of linear calibration plots (R2 > 0.994) ranging from 2 to 500 μg L−1 and the relative standard deviation for a solution containing 100 μg L−1 copper was 3.7% (n = 10). Utilising an accumulation time of 300 s the limit of detection was 1.4 μg L−1 (S/N = 3). This technique was successfully applied to the analysis of copper in tap water representing the first successful copper determination in real samples using the BFE.  相似文献

A novel on-line sequential injection (SI) dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) system coupled to electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) was developed for metal preconcentration in micro-scale, eliminating the laborious and time consuming procedure of phase separation with centrifugation. The potentials of the system were demonstrated for trace lead and cadmium determination in water samples. An appropriate disperser solution which contains the extraction solvent (xylene) and the chelating agent (ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate) in methanol is mixed on-line with the sample solution (aqueous phase), resulting thus, a cloudy solution, which is consisted of fine droplets of xylene, dispersed throughout the aqueous phase. Three procedures are taking place simultaneously: cloudy solution creation, analyte complex formation and extraction from aqueous phase into the fine droplets of xylene. Subsequently the droplets were retained on the hydrophobic surface of PTFE-turnings into the column. A part of 30 μL of the eluent (methyl isobutyl ketone) was injected into furnace graphite for analyte atomization and quantification. The sampling frequency was 10 h−1, and the obtained enrichment factor was 80 for lead and 34 for cadmium. The detection limit was 10 ng L−1 and 2 ng L−1, while the precision expressed as relative standard deviation (RSD) was 3.8% (at 0.5 μg L−1) and 4.1% (at 0.03 μg L−1) for lead and cadmium respectively. The proposed method was evaluated by analyzing certified reference materials and was applied to the analysis of natural waters.  相似文献

An electrochemical sensor for the detection of copper(II) ions is described using a meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) self-assembled gold electrode. First in ammonia buffer pH 8, copper(II) ions complex with self-assembled monolayer (SAM) via the free carboxyl groups on immobilized meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (accumulation step). Then, the medium is exchanged to acetate buffer pH 4.6 and the complexed Cu(II) ions are reduced in negative potential of −0.3 V (reduction step). Following this, reduced coppers are oxidized and detected by differential pulse (DP) voltammetric scans from −0.3 to +0.7 V (stripping step). The effective parameters in sensor response were examined. The detection limit of copper(II) was 1.29 μg L−1 and R.S.D. for 200 μg L−1 was 1.06%. The calibration curve was linear for 3-225 μg L−1 copper(II). The procedure was applied for determination of Cu(II) to natural waters and human hairs. The accuracy and precision of results were comparable to those obtained by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS).  相似文献

In situ mercury film electrode produced in the presence of thiocyanate has been shown extremely useful for highly sensitive adsorptive stripping voltammetric measurements of atrazine down to sub-μg L−1 level. Operational parameters have been optimized and the stripping voltammetric performance has been investigated using square wave scans. The adsorptive stripping response is linear over the range of 0.5-60 μg L−1 atrazine, with a detection limit of 0.024 μg L−1. The method has been applied to the determination of atrazine in soil and water samples.  相似文献

A differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetric method was developed for the determination of Ag(I) at a 3-amino-2-mercapto quinazolin-4(3H)-one modified carbon paste electrode. The analysis procedure consisted of an open circuit accumulation step in stirred sample solution for 12 min. This was followed by medium exchange to a clean solution where the accumulated Ag(I) was reduced for 15 s in −0.6 V. Subsequently an anodic potential scan was effected from −0.2 to +0.2 V to obtain the voltammetric peak. The detection limit of silver(I) was 0.4 μg L−1 and R.S.D. for 10, 100 and 200 μg L−1 silver(I) were 2.4, 1.8 and 1.3%, respectively. The calibration curve was linear for 0.9-300 μg L−1 silver(I). Many coexisting ions had little or no effect on the determination of silver(I). The procedure was applied to determination of silver(I) in X-ray photographic films and natural waters. In X-ray photographic film samples, the results have compared to those obtained by atomic absorption spectroscopy.  相似文献

We report for the first time the synthesis of bismuth-modified (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) and its application for the determination of lead and cadmium by anodic stripping voltammetry. Xerogels made from bismuth-modified MPTMS and mixtures of it with tetraethoxysilane, under basic conditions (NH3·H2O), were characterized with scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. Bismuth-modified xerogels were mixed with 1.5% (v/v) Nafion in ethanol and applied on glassy carbon electrodes. During the electrolytic reductive deposition step, the bismuth compound on the electrode surface was reduced to metallic bismuth. The target metal cations were simultaneously reduced to the respective metals and were preconcentrated on the electrode surface by forming an alloy with bismuth. Then, an anodic voltammetric scan was applied in which the metals were oxidized and stripped back into the solution; the voltammogram was recorded and the stripping peak heights were related to the concentration of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions in the sample. Various key parameters were investigated in detail and optimized. The effect of potential interferences was also examined. Under optimum conditions and for preconcentration period of 4 min, the 3σ limit of detection was 1.3 μg L−1 for Pb(II) and 0.37 μg L−1 for Cd(II), while the reproducibility of the method was 4.2% for lead (n = 5, 10.36 μg L−1 Pb(II)) and 3.9% for cadmium (n = 5, 5.62 μg L−1 Cd(II)). Finally, the sensors were applied to the determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions in water samples.  相似文献

A new catalytic oxidative coupling reaction of N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine (DPD) with 1,3-phenylenediamine (mPD) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide has been developed for trace metals analysis. The rate of the oxidation/coupling reaction can be enhanced significantly by iron, copper and cobalt. These metal ions can catalyze the oxidation reaction of DPD to form an oxidized product; the oxidized DPD was then coupled with mPD to give a blue-colored product which was measured spectrophotometrically at 650 nm. On the basis of such a reaction scheme, two simple flow injection analysis methods for the determination of copper and iron have been developed. Detailed studies on chemical and FIA variables affecting the sensitivity of the detection were carried out. Interferences from several ionic species were examined for the determination of copper: the interference effect by Fe(III) and Fe(II) up to 1.5 mg L−1 was successfully suppressed by pretreating sample with ammonium acetate buffer solution (pH 8.4). Good linearity of a standard calibration graph was obtained over the ranges of 0-8 and 0-2 μg L−1 of copper and iron, respectively, and the detection limits were 0.05 and 0.02 μg L−1 for copper and iron, respectively. The precision of the methods in terms of relative standard deviation were 1.4 and 1.5% of R.S.D. which were obtained from 10 injections of 2.0 and 1.0 μg L−1 of standard copper and iron, respectively. The proposed methods were successfully applied to the determination of copper and iron in tap and river water samples. The accuracy of the proposed methods was assessed by the analysis of certified reference material of river water.  相似文献

Graphene nanosheets, dispersed in Nafion (Nafion-G) solution, were used in combination with in situ plated bismuth film electrode for fabricating the enhanced electrochemical sensing platform to determine the lead (Pb2+) and cadmium (Cd2+) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). The electrochemical properties of the composite film modified glassy carbon electrode were investigated. It is found that the prepared Nafion-G composite film not only exhibited improved sensitivity for the metal ion detections, but also alleviated the interferences due to the synergistic effect of graphene nanosheets and Nafion. The linear calibration curves ranged from 0.5 μg L−1 to 50 μg L−1 for Pb2+ and 1.5 μg L−1 to 30 μg L−1 for Cd2+, respectively. The detection limits (S/N = 3) were estimated to be around 0.02 μg L−1 for Pb2+ and Cd2+. The practical application of the proposed method was verified in the water sample determination.  相似文献

A sensitive method for the determination of chromium ion(VI) in complex matrices such as crude oil and sludge is presented based on the decreasing effect of Cr(VI) on cathodic adsorptive stripping peak height of Cu-adenine complex. Under the optimum experimental conditions (pH 7.5 Britton-Robinson buffer, 5 × 10−5 M copper, 8 × 10−6 M adenine and accumulation potential −250 mV versus Ag/AgCl), a linear decrease of the peak current of Cu-adenine was observed, when the chromium(VI) concentration was increased from 5 μg L−1 to 120 μg L−1. Detection limit of 2 μg L−1 was achieved for 120 s accumulation time. The relative standard deviations (R.S.D., %) were 1.8% and 4% for chromium(VI) concentrations of 18 μg L−1 and 100 μg L−1, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of chromium(VI) in the presence of high levels of chromium(III), in various real samples such as crude oil, crude oil tank button sludge, waste water and tap water samples. Effects of foreign ions and surfactants on the voltammetric peak and the influences of instrumental and analytical parameters were investigated in detail. The accuracy of the results was checked by ICP and/or AA.  相似文献

The potential application of commercial screen-printed gold electrodes (SPGEs) for the trace determination of lead, copper, and mercury in fuel bioethanol is demonstrated. Samples were simply diluted in 0.067 mol L−1 HCl solution prior to square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) measurements recorded with a portable potentiostat. The proposed method presented a low detection limit (<2 μg L−1) for a 240 s deposition time, linear range between 5 and 300 μg L−1, and adequate recovery values (96–104%) for spiked samples. This analytical method shows great promise for on-site trace metal determination in fuel bioethanol once there is no requirement for sample treatment or electrode modification.  相似文献

The process of ultrasound-assisted emulsification-microextraction (USAEME) was successfully applied for the first time for the extraction and pre-concentration of trace cadmium from water samples, followed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). In the proposed approach, sodium diethyldithiocarbamate trihydrate solution (NaDDTC·3H2O) was used as a chelating agent and carbon tetrachloride was selected as extraction solvent. Some effective parameters on the microextraction and the complex formation were selected and optimized. These parameters included extraction solvent type as well as extraction volume, time, temperature, and pH, the amount of the chelating agent, and salt effect. Under optimum conditions, an enrichment factor of 95 was obtained from only 5.0 mL of water sample. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 10-600 μg L−1 with a detection limit of 0.91 μg L−1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D) for ten replicate measurements of 50 and 500 μg L−1 of cadmium were 2.56 and 1.62%. This proposed method was successfully applied in the analysis of four real environmental water samples and good spiked recoveries over the range of 96.5-101.7% were obtained.  相似文献

In this study, dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) was developed for simultaneous preconcentration and trace determination of chromium, copper, nickel and zinc in water samples. Sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (Na-DDTC), carbon tetrachloride and methanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent and disperser solvent, respectively. The effective parameters of DLLME such as volume of extraction and disperser solvents, pH, concentration of salt and concentration of the chelating agent were studied by a (2f−1) fractional factorial design to identify the most important parameters and their interactions. The results showed that concentration of salt and volume of disperser solvent had no effect on the extraction efficiency. In the next step, central composite design was used to obtain optimum levels of effective parameters. The optimal conditions were: volume of extraction solvent, 113 μL; concentration of the chelating agent, 540 mg L−1; and pH, 6.70. The linear dynamic range for Cu, Ni and Zn was 1-1000 μg L−1 and for Cr was 1-750 μg L−1. The correlation coefficient (R2) was higher than 0.993. The limits of detection were 0.23-0.55 μg L−1. The relative standard deviations (RSDs, C = 200 μg L−1, n = 7) were in the range of 2.1-3.8%. The method was successfully applied to determination of Cr, Cu, Ni and Zn in the real water samples and satisfactory relative recoveries (90-99%) were achieved.  相似文献

An enrichment procedure for cadmium and lead after their solid phase extraction as dibenzyldithiocarbamate chelates on Dowex Optipore V-493 has been established prior to their flame atomic absorption spectrometric determinations. The analytical parameters including pH, amounts of dibenzyldithiocarbamate, sample volume, etc., were investigated. The effects of alkaline and earth alkaline ions and some metal ions on the retentions of analytes on Dowex Optipore V-493 resin were examined. Under the optimized conditions, the detection limits (3s, n = 21) for cadmium and lead were 0.43 μg L−1 and 0.65 μg L−1, respectively. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.), and the recoveries of standard addition for this method were lower than 5% (n = 11) and 95-102%, respectively. Three standard reference samples (LGC 6010 Hard drinking water, NIST SRM 2711 Montana soil and GBW 07605 Tea) were introduced for accuracy and precision of analytical data. The proposed solid phase extraction system was successfully applied to the analysis of environmental samples.  相似文献

A novel nanocomposite was obtained through the controlled surface modification of graphene nanosheets (nanographene) with Nafion by ultrasonic oscillation. The composite was used as an ultrasensitive platform for the detection of cadmium ions (Cd2+) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) analysis. The performance of the nanographene-based sensor was systematically compared with that of a multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-modified sensor. The results indicate that the nanographene-based sensor exhibits significant advantages over the MWCNT-based sensor in terms of repeatability, sensitivity and limit of detection (LOD). The nanographene-based sensor displayed superior analytical performance over a linear range of Cd2+ concentrations from 0.25 μg L−1 to 5 μg L−1, with a LOD of 3.5 ng L−1. This sensor was also used to systematically screen for 6 types of chemicals, including sodium salts, magnesium salts and zinc salts. It was observed that the sensor could successfully differentiate cadmium ions from interferents (magnesium salts, zinc salts, etc.). The nanographene-based sensor was also demonstrated to be a promising and reliable tool for the rapid detection of cadmium existing in tap water and for the rapid on-site analysis of critical pollution levels of cadmium.  相似文献
