Let ( n ) n 1 be a norm convergent sequence of normal states on a von Neumann algebraA with n . Let (k n ) n1 be a strongly convergent sequence of self-adjoint elements ofA withk n k. It is shown that the sequence of perturbed states converges in norm to . A related result holds forC *-algebras. A counter-example is provided to show that it is not sufficient to assume weak convergence of ( n ) n 1 even whenk n=k for alln. However, conditions are given which, together with weak convergence, are sufficient. Relative entropy methods are used, and a relative entropy inequality is proved.  相似文献

The OPE algebra Q=Q(g 2 ) generated by a pair of oppositely charged currents (z,±g)(|z|=1) of spin is specified by the leading terms in the small distance expansions of (z 1,g)(z 2, -g) and (z 1,g)(z 2,g). The current (z,g) splits into a product of a U(1)-Thirring field and a Zamolodchikov-Fattev parafermionic current. The quasilocal(i.e.single-or double-valued) representations of Q are classified. The level k states involve 2(k+1) (ks–k+1) lowest weights (dimensions). The results can be viewed as an extension of the (known) representation theory of the SU(2) current algebra in the bosonic case corresponding to even values of g 2 and of the N=2 extended superconformal algebra in the fermionic case corresponding to odd g 2.  相似文献

The relation between relaxation timeT, frequency swept resonance linewidth , and phenomenological damping is given by =2/T=(x+y), where x,y = (H 0+(N x,y –N z ) 4M s ).N x,y,z are sample demagnetizing factors,H 0 is the effectivez-directed static field, 4M s is the saturation induction, and is the gyromagnetic ratio. This fairly simple but general relation shows that the numerical relation between damping and relaxation at a given frequency can be quite different for in-plane and normally magnetized thin films. For thesame loss processes, so thatT andT are equal, is larger than . For permalloy films at 1 GHz, =15 . In addition, the conventional field swept linewidth, H=/, is simply related to only forN x =N y . Both and H are geometry dependent and do not provide an intrinsic measure of the relaxation. These results are confirmed by both resonance and transient response experiments. The large values of for large angle switching may also be partially explained by this analysis because the relevant magnetization motion is due to a demagnetizing field normal to the film plane.Visiting scientist on leave fromRaytheon Company, U.S.A. We present the full set of evolution equations for the spatially homogeneous cosmologies of type VIh filled with a tilted perfect fluid and we provide the corresponding equilibrium points of the resulting dynamical state space. It is found that only when the group parameter satisfies h > –1 a self-similar solution exists. In particular we show that for h > – there exists a self-similar equilibrium point provided that whereas for h < – the state parameter belongs to the interval (1, . This family of new exact self-similar solutions belongs to the subclass n = 0 having non-zero vorticity. In both cases the equilibrium points have a six-dimensional stable manifold and may act as future attractors at least for the models satisfying n = 0. Also we give the exact form of the self-similar metrics in terms of the state and group parameter. As an illustrative example we provide the explicit form of the corresponding self-similar radiation model ( = ), parametrised by the group parameter h. Finally we show that there are no tilted self-similar models of type III and irrotational models of type VIh.  相似文献

We show that the -functions obtained from Schur polynomials lead to wave functions w(x 1, x 2, ... ; k) that possess the following bispectral property: There exists a differential operator B{k,k}, independent of x 1 , such that B{k,k}w = {x 1}w, where {x 1} is independent of k. This extends for the KP hierarchy some earlier results of J. J. Duistermaat and F. A. Grünbaum for the rational solutions of KdV and of P. Wright for certain rational solutions of the generalized KdV equations.  相似文献

For a bounded open domain with connected complement inR 2 and piecewise smooth boundary, we consider the Dirichlet Laplacian- on and the S-matrix on the complement c . We show that the on-shell S-matricesS k have eigenvalues converging to 1 askk 0 exactly when-- has an eigenvalue at energyk 0 2 . This includes multiplicities, and proves a weak form of transparency atk=k 0. We also show that stronger forms of transparency, such asS k 0 having an eigenvalue 1 are not expected to hold in general.  相似文献

We present a microscopic theory of the problem of finding the properties of a particle interacting with potentials located at random sites. The sites are governed by a general probability distribution. The starting point is the multiple scattering equations for the amplitude k 1|T |k 2 in terms of the individual scattering amplitudes k 1|T |k 2. We work with quantitiesA defined by k 1|T |k 2=k 1|T |k 2exp[i(k 1k 2)R ]. The theory is based on a splitting of the fundamental equation forA into equations for the mean A and the fluctuationsAA . Neglect of the fluctuations yields the quasicrystalline approximation. We rearrange the equation forAA to isolate the collective part of the fluctuations. We then make the simplest microscopic truncation which is thatAA is a restricted two-body additive function of the site positions. With the contribution of the collective fluctuations, this yields results forA that are accurate to ordert 4.Work supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Contract No. NSF DMRWork supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Contract No. NSF DMR  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to review and to extend, wherever possible, the Kramers-Kronig relations, sum rules, and symmetry properties for the electrodynamic transport tensors of a linear plasma medium. For complete generality, we consider both nonrelativistic and relativistic plasmas with and without external magnetic fields. Our study is carried out first within the framework of classical electrodynamics. We then exploit the statistical-mechanical fluctuation-dissipation theorem to further obtain the Onsager symmetry relations and Kubo sum-rule frequency moments. Of special significance is the emergence of a variety of new Kramers-Kronig formulae andf-sum rules for the inverse dispersion tensor.Nomenclature E(k,) electric field intensity - Ê(k,) electric field in absence of plasma particles, - (k,) electric field due to the plasma particles (=E-Ê) - B(k,) magnetic induction - D(k,) electric induction - H(k,) magnetic field strength - B 0 constant external magnetic field - A 0 vector potential corresponding toB 0 - (k,),j(k, co) charge and current densities due to the plasma particles - (k,),J(k,) charge and current densities of the external agency - (k,,B 0) dielectric tensor of the plasma medium in the presence of B0 - (k,,B 0) diamagnetic tensor - (k, co,B 0) (k,,B 0) – 1, electric polarizability tensor - (k,,B 0) magnetic polarizability tensor - (k,,B 0) ordinary conductivity tensor - (k,,B 0) external conductivity tensor - D(k,,B 0) n2T–(k,,B 0), dispersion tensor, where T=1-kk is the transverse projection tensor (k being the unit vector in the direction ofk) andn = kc/ the index of refraction - n2T – 1, = vacuum wave operator (value of D in vacuum) - 1/2( + ), Hermitian part of - ^ 1/2( – ), Anti-Hermitian part of a - , real and imaginary parts of a - R(r,t) dissipated power per unit volume of plasma - U total energy absorbed by the plasma - R(k,) E*(k,) · (k,,b 0) ·E(k,) corresponding spectral energy density - W(r,t) 1/20E2(r, 0 + (l/20) B2(r,t), field energy density - W(k,) 1/20E*k,) ·E(k,) + (l/20)B *(k,) · B(k,), energy content in a certain domain of (k,)-space for a single mode - x i,p i,v i coordinate, momentum, and velocity of ith electron - i [1–(i 2/c2)]–1/2 - X j,P j,V j coordinate, momentum, and velocity of jth ion - {A q}, {Eq} field coordinates and momenta - jk(t),J k(t) perturbations in the microscopic electron and ion current densities due to the presence of the small external vector potential agencyâ(r,t) = (1/L3) âk(t) expi k ·r - Liouville distribution function = 0 + - 0 macrocanonical distribution function characterizing the equilibrium state of the system in the infinite past - small perturbation due toA - H0 Hamiltonian of equilibrium system which includes interaction - H Hamiltonian for the interaction between the system and the small external perturbing agencyA - 0 = dR()0 expectation value of any quantity over the equilibrium ensemble (dR is an element of hypervolume in -phase space) - G(12) two-particle distribution function - F(1) one-particle distribution function - g(¦x2 – x1 ¦) [G(12)/F(1)F(2)] – 1, pair correlation function - N total number of electron in volume L3 - n 0 equilibrium density (of electrons) - –1 temperature (in energy units) - 0 (n0e2/m0)1/2, equilibrium electron plasma frequency - c ¦e ¦–B 0/m, electron frequency - –1 ( 0/n0e2)1/2, Debye length - 0 (n0Ze2/M0)1/2, equilibrium ion plasma frequency - c ZeB0/M, ion cyclotron frequency  相似文献

One-dimensional irreducible integrals (k) are computed in the form of Mayerf-function polynomials for a general interparticle potential. Obeisance to the exact specification of the irreducible integral definition produces regularities in the interaction of star graphs with the integration process. Tables of k fork 5 and test solutions are presented.  相似文献

I use Israel's methods to prove new theorems of ubiquitous pathology for classical and quantum lattice systems. The main result is the following: Let be any interaction and be any translation-invariant equilibrium state for (extremal or not). Then there exists a sequence { k } of interactions converging to , having extremal (or even unique) translation-invariant equilibrium states k , such that { k } converges to . In certain situations the perturbations k – can be chosen to lie in a cone of antiferromagnetic pair interactions. I discuss the connection with results of Daniëls and van Enter, and point out an application to the one-dimensional ferromagnetic Ising model with 1/r 2 interaction (Thouless effect).  相似文献

The stability of the homogeneously broadened and degenerate two-photon running wave laser is analysed by using the full set of matter-field equations. The stability depends on the relative size of the relaxation constants. For 2k>1+r(k=/,r=/; is the cavity loss of the field and , are the longitudinal and transversal decay constants, respectively) no stable lasing state exists. Forr<k<(1+r)/2 an instability occurs. With the decrease in pumping the stable lasing state loses its stability due to Hopf-bifurcation.  相似文献

The Glauber model is studied for symmetric distributions (±J and gaussian) of the nearest-neighbour interactionJ, including a magnetic field. For small clusters of spins (closed rings ofN bonds, withN7) the complex magnetic susceptibility () and the time-dependent remanent magnetizationm(t) are found exactly for given bond configurations {J ij } by diagonalization of the Liouville operator; apart from the ±J model, the average over {J ij } must be done numerically by simple random sampling Monte Carlo. Nevertheless our accuracy is much better than corresponding dynamic Monte Carlo simulations, even if one considers the extrapolation toN.We analyze the results along the lines of corresponding experimental work, studying the frequency-dependence of the peak in (), theT lnt-scaling ofm(t) at low temperaturesT, and the decomposition of () into a spectrum of relaxation times. Many results are strikingly similar to experimental data for systems such as the Holmium-Borate spinglass or the superparamagnet Eu0.05Sr0.95S, for instance. Frequency-dependent critical fieldsH c () in theH-T plane are also identified but do not have the familiar Almeida-Thouless shape, however.Dedicated to B. The conventional perturbative approach to quantum gravity is based on the expansion in powers of k, wherek denotes the Einstein gravitational constant. The introduction of a square root is due to the unreasonable postulate that thek0 limit of the gravitational field is ac-number. It is more natural that it is aq-number, which can be determined explicitly by the theory, and then the expansion becomes that in powers ofk but not of k. Thus the nonrenormalizability of Einstein gravity should be completely reconsidered in the light of the new expansion.  相似文献

The piezoresistance of n-silicon was theoretically and experimentally investigated in an approximation quadratic in the mechanical stress Xkl :ij/0=ijkl Xkl +ijkl mnXkl Xmn. The components of the quadratic piezoresistance tensor were calculated and the angular dependence of the longitudinal quadratic piezoresistance was analyzed. It is shown that the simultaneously measured linear and quadratic piezoresistances can be used to determine the deformation potential constant u and the mobility anisotropy K. The obtained results are discussed.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 2, pp. 44–48, February, 1978.I express my sincere gratitude to A. V. Coherent vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation was generated by four-wave difference frequency mixing (VUV=212) of pulsed dye laser radiation in carbon monoxide (CO). The frequency 1 was tuned to the C 1+(=0)X 1+(=0) two-photon transition, while the dye laser frequency 2 was scaned around 17650 cm–1 which corresponds to the A 1(=7)«C 1+(=0) transition energy. The VUV intensity was found to be strongly wavelength dependent. The analysis of the spectrum revealed (i) that the VUV intensity was enhanced by the rotational levels of the A 1(=7) state and (ii) that the off-resonance excitation in the C 1+(=0)X 1+(=0) two-photon transition greatly contributed to the present four-wave mixing process. The effects of pumping laser detuning, saturation and foreign gases are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Sum-frequency mixing (3=1+2) of UV laser radiation (1=266 nm and 213 nm) and tunable coherent infrared light (2=1.2–2.6 m) in lithium borate (LBO) generates radiation at short wavelengths (3=188–242 nm). The UV radiation at 1 is produced by the fourth and fifth harmonic of a pulsed Nd-YAG laser. The infrared light is generated with an optical parametric oscillator of beta barium borate. The phase-matching angle is measured as function of 3 and compared with calculated values. For UV laser radiation at shorter wavelengths (173 nm1213 nm) the calculations predict an extension of the tuning range of the sum-frequency generated at 3 to wavelengths as short as the LBO transmission cutoff at 160 nm.  相似文献

The problem of ambiguity of the output of a single-chamber amperometric zirconia oxygen sensor with the possible confusion of lean and rich operation of a combustion system is well known. The solution previously proposed entails the addition of a second chamber containing a piped reference gas such as air. In this paper the novel solution proposed is to generate a pseudo-reference gas, which always contains excess oxygen, in the second chamber so eliminating the need for a piped reference gas. The detailed theory of the device in one particular mode is developed and confirmed by experimental tests in O2-N2 and CO-CO2-N2 mixtures. The device was also operated in the flue of a gas-burning system over a wide range of air-to-fuel ratios from rich to lean. The output changed monotonically over the whole range switching sign as stoichiometry was traversed. An amperometric zirconia gas sensor with such a characteristic has previously only been described for a sensor with supplied reference gas of fixed composition.Nomenclature D X Diffusion coefficient of gas X - E Nernst EMF between cell (B) and (A) - F The Faraday - I A(B) Current applied to cell A(B) - I AS Critical current corresponding to P CO,B=P O 2,B=0. - K Equilibrium constant for the reaction 2CO22CO+O2 - P COS Critical partial pressure of CO in sample gas corresponding to P CO,B =P O 2 B=0 - P X Partial pressure of X in the sample gas - P X,A(B) Partial pressure of X in cell A(B) - PRE Pseudo-reference electrode - R Gas constant - T Temperature of operation (K) - V r Reference voltage (feedback loop aims to maintain E=V r) - X Represents O2, CO or CO2 - X,A(B) Leak conductance of diffusion barrier in cell A(B) in relation to gas X. Conclusions A feature of our problem of restoration of fluctuations in ionosphere height is that the experimental data(t, k) obtained at a fixed reception point are functions of time, whereas the function 1(u, y2) to be restored is a function of the coordinates. If we use the assumption that the irregularities migrate transversely, coordinate y2 can be exchanged for time t. Restoration with respect to the second coordinate u=xi–x0/2 is in effect obtained by using data(t, k) on some set of carrier frequencies. The resultant solution of the restoration problem is in the form of an expansion of 1(u, y2) in known functions determined from the observed data(t, k). We have evaluated the solution accuracy, which depends on the overall power signal-to-noise ratio at all frequencies used. We have demonstrated that the restoration algorithm contains an optimum number (with respect to accuracy) of coefficients to be evaluated.Khar'kov Aviation Institute. Influence of oxygen content on electric and thermoelectric properties of ternary system Bi2Te3–x Se x
A study is made of the influence of oxygen, contained in the semi-conducting system Bi2Te3–x x , on the electric and thermoelectric properties. It is shown that the addition of oxygen to the prepared samples Bi2Te2.4Se0.6 causes a decrease in electric conductivity while the thermoelectric force remains unchanged. This influence is connected with a decrease in the mobility of the electrons but their concentration is not influenced by the presence of oxygen. Conclusions are reached as to the influence of oxygen on the efficiency of the conversion of thermal energy into electric energy and vice versa.

Extra integrals of motion and the Lax representation are found for interacting spin systems with the HamiltonianH = (J/2) j, k=1,j k N P(j – k) j k , where one of the periods of the WeierstrassP function is equal toN. The Heisenberg and Haldane-Shastry chains appear as limiting cases of these systems at some values of the second period. The simplest eigenvectors and eigenvalues ofH corresponding to the scattering of two spin waves are presented explicitly for these finite-dimensional systems and for their infinite-dimensional version.  相似文献
