Solvent effects on O-H stretching vibration frequency of methanol in hydrogen bond complexes with different bases, CH3OH...B, have been investigated by FTIR spectroscopy. Using chloroform as a solvent results in strengthening of CH3OH...B hydrogen bonding due to cooperativity between CH3OH...B and Cl3CH...CH3OH bonds. A method is proposed for quantifying the hydrogen bond cooperativity effect. The determined cooperativity factors take into account all specific interactions of the solute in proton-donor solvents. In addition, a method of estimation of cooperativity factors Ab and AOX in system (CH3OH)2...B is proposed. It is demonstrated that in such systems, the cooperativity factor of the OH...B bond decreases and that of the OH...O bond increases with increasing the acceptor strength of the base B. The obtained results are in a good agreement with the data obtained previously from matrix-isolation FTIR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The cooperative forces of aurophilic and hydrogen bonding have been used in the self-assembly of phosphine or diphosphine complexes of gold(I) with the thiolate ligands derived from 2-thiobarbituric acid, SC(4)H(4)N(2)O(2), by single or double deprotonation. The reaction of the corresponding gold(I) trifluoroacetate complex with SC(4)H(4)N(2)O(2) gave the complexes [Au(SC(4)H(3)N(2)O(2))(PPh(3))], 1, [(AuSC(4)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(micro-LL)], with LL = Ph(2)PCH(2)PPh(2), 2a, Ph(2)P(CH(2))(3)PPh(2), 2b, or Ph(2)PCH=CHPPh(2), 2c, or the cyclic complex [Au(2)(micro-SC(4)H(2)N(2)O(2))(micro-Ph(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))], 3. In the case with LL = Ph(2)P(CH(2))(6)PPh(2), the reaction led to loss of the diphosphine ligand to give [Au(6)(SC(4)H(3)N(2)O(2))(6)], 4, a hexagold(I) cluster complex in which each gold(I) center has trigonal AuS(2)N coordination. Structure determinations show that 1 has no aurophilic bonding, 2b, 3, and 4 have intramolecular aurophilic bonding, and 2c has intermolecular aurophilic bonding that contributes to the supramolecular structure. All the complexes undergo supramolecular association through strong NH...O and/or OH...N hydrogen bonding, and complex 3 also takes part in CH...O hydrogen bonding. The supramolecular association leads to formation of interesting polymer, sheet, or network structures, and 4 has a highly porous and stable lattice structure.  相似文献

Very short C-H...O, N-H...O, and O-H...O hydrogen bonds have been generated utilizing the cyclic phosphate [CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2]P(O)OH (1). X-ray structures of (i) 1 (unsolvated, two polymorphs), 1...EtOH, and 1...MeOH, (ii) [imidazolium](+)[CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2PO2](-)...MeOH [2], (iii) [HNC5H4-N=N-C5H4NH](2+)[(CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2PO2)2](2-)...4CH3CN...H2O [3], (v) [K, 18-crown-6](+)[(CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2P(O)OH)(CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2PO2)](-)...2THF [4], (vi) 1...cytosine...MeOH [5], (vii) 1...adenine...1/2MeOH [6], and (viii) 1...S-(-)-proline [7] have been determined. The phosphate 1 in both its forms is a hydrogen-bonded dimer with a short O-H...O distance of 2.481(2) [triclinic form] or 2.507(3) A [monoclinic form]. Compound 2 has a helical structure with a very short C-H...O hydrogen bond involving an imidazolyl C-H and methanol in addition to N-H...O hydrogen bonds. A helical motif is also seen in 5. In 3, an extremely short N-H...O hydrogen bond [N...O 2.558(4) A] is observed. Compounds 6 and 7 also exhibit short N-H...O hydrogen bonds. In 1...EtOH, a 12-membered hydrogen-bonded ring motif, with one of the shortest known O-H...O hydrogen bonds [O...O 2.368(4) A], is present. 1...MeOH is a similar dimer with a very short O(-H)...O bond [2.429(3) A]. In 4, the deprotonated phosphate (anion) and the parent acid are held together by a hydrogen bond on one side and a coordinate/covalent bond to potassium on the other; the O-H...O bond is symmetrical and very strong [O...O 2.397(3) A].  相似文献

The imido(meso-tetra-p-tolylporphyrinato)molybdenum(IV) complexes, (TTP)Mo=NR, where R = C6H5 (1a), p-CH3C6H4 (1b), 2,4,6-(CH3)3C6H2 (1c), and 2,6-(i-Pr)2C6H4 (1d), can be prepared by the reaction of (TTP)MoCl2 with 2 equiv of LiNHR in toluene. Upon treatment of the imido complexes with pyridine derivatives, NC5H4-p-X (X = CH3, CH(CH3)2, C[triple bond]N), new six-coordinate complexes, (TTP)Mo=NR.NC5H4-p-X, were observed. The reaction between the molybdenum imido complexes, (TTP)Mo=NC6H5 or (TTP)Mo=NC6H4CH3, and (TTP)Ti(eta2-PhC[triple bond]CPh) resulted in complete imido group transfer and two-electron redox of the metal centers to give (TTP)Mo(eta2-PhC[triple bond]CPh) and (TTP)Ti=NC6H5 or (TTP)Ti=NC6H4CH3.

Natural bond orbital analysis is used to investigate the nature of hydrogen bonding in a series of binary open-shell complexes involving hydroperoxy radical HO(2)...X and analogous closed-shell H(2)O(2)...X complexes (where X = H(2)O, H(2)O(2), HONO, HONO(2), CH(3)OH, HCOOH, CH(3)COOH, and H(2)SO(4)) in order to elucidate and identify the electronic factors responsible for the strength of radical hydrogen bonds. Results from this study suggest that the radical species strongly alters the strength of the characteristic n --> sigma(*) donor-acceptor interaction in the hydrogen bonding. This interaction is found to contribute to the unusually strong binding in radical-molecule complexes. These findings have important new ramifications for our fundamental understanding of radical hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Amide oxygen co-ordination to a zinc(II) ion around a hydrogen bonding microenvironment is a common structural/functional feature of metalloproteases. We report two strategies to position hydrogen bonding groups in the proximity of a zinc(II)-bound amide oxygen, and we investigate their effect on the stability of the amide group. Polydentate tripodal ligands (6-R1-2-pyridylmethyl)-R2 (R1= NHCOtBu, R2= N(CH2-py-6-X)2 X = H L1, X = NH2, H L2, X = NH2 L3) form [(L)Zn]2+ cations (L =L1, 1; L2, 2; L3, 3) with intramolecular amide oxygen co-ordination (1-3), and intramolecular N-H...O=C(amide) hydrogen bonding (2, 3) rigidly fixed by the ligand framework. 1-3 undergo cleavage of the tert-butyl amide upon addition of Me4NOH.5H2O (1 equiv.) in methanol at 50(1) degrees C. Under these conditions the half-life, t(1/2), of the amide bond is 0.4 h for 1, 9 h for 2 and 320 h for 3. Mononuclear zinc(II) complexes of (6-NHCOtBu-2-pyridylmethyl)-R2(R2= N(CH2CH2)2S) L4 and chelating N2 ligands without hydrogen bonding groups (1,10-phenanthroline L5, 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine L6) as control compounds, and with an amino hydrogen bonding group (6-amino-2-(aminomethyl)pyridine L7) have been synthesised. Amide cleavage is in this case faster at the zinc(II) complex with the amino hydrogen bonding group. Thus, hydrogen bonding environments can both accelerate and slow down amide bond cleavage reactions at zinc(II) sites. Importantly, the magnitude of the effect exerted by the hydrogen bonding environments was found to be significant; 800-fold rate difference. This result highlights the importance of hydrogen bonding environments around metal centres in amide cleavage reactions, which may be relevant to the chemistry of natural metalloproteases and applicable to the design of more efficient artificial protein cleaving agents.  相似文献

Weak hydrogen bonding in uracil and 4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl, for which single-crystal diffraction structures reveal close CH...O=C and C[triple bond]CH...N[triple bond]C distances, is investigated in a study that combines the experimental determination of 1H, 13C, and 15N chemical shifts by magic-angle spinning (MAS) solid-state NMR with first-principles calculations using plane-wave basis sets. An optimized synthetic route, including the isolation and characterization of intermediates, to 4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl at natural abundance and with 13C[triple bond]13CH and 15N[triple bond]C labeling is described. The difference in chemical shifts calculated, on the one hand, for the full crystal structure and, on the other hand, for an isolated molecule depends on both intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions and aromatic ring current effects. In this study, the two effects are separated computationally by, first, determining the difference in chemical shift between that calculated for a plane (uracil) or an isolated chain (4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl) and that calculated for an isolated molecule and by, second, calculating intraplane or intrachain nucleus-independent chemical shifts that quantify the ring current effects caused by neighboring molecules. For uracil, isolated molecule to plane changes in the 1H chemical shift of 2.0 and 2.2 ppm are determined for the CH protons involved in CH...O weak hydrogen bonding; this compares to changes of 5.1 and 5.4 ppm for the NH protons involved in conventional NH...O hydrogen bonding. A comparison of CH bond lengths for geometrically relaxed uracil molecules in the crystal structure and for geometrically relaxed isolated molecules reveals differences of no more than 0.002 A, which corresponds to changes in the calculated 1H chemical shifts of at most 0.1 ppm. For the C[triple bond]CH...N[triple bond]C weak hydrogen bonds in 4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl, the calculated molecule to chain changes are of similar magnitude but opposite sign for the donor 13C and acceptor 15N nuclei. In uracil and 4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl, the CH hydrogen-bonding donors are sp2 and sp hybridized, respectively; a comparison of the calculated changes in 1H chemical shift with those for the sp3 hybridized CH donors in maltose (Yates et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2005, 127, 10216) reveals no marked dependence on hybridization for weak hydrogen-bonding strength.  相似文献

To explore the relationships between the structures of ligands and their complexes, we have synthesized and characterized a series of metal complexes with two structurally related ligands, 9-acridinecarboxylic acid (HL(1)) and 4-quinolinecarboxylate acid (HL(2)), [Cu(2)(mu(2)-OMe)(2)(L(1))(2)(H(2)O)(0.69)](n) 1, [Cu(2)(L(1))(4)(CH(3)OH)(2)] 2, [Cu(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 3, [Mn(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 4, [Co(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 5, [Cu(L(2))(2)](n) 6, [Mn(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 7, and [Co(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 8. 1 is a three-dimensional (3D) polymer with an interpenetrating NbO type network showing one-dimensional (1D) channels, whereas 2 and 3 take bi- and trinuclear structures, respectively, because of the differences in basicity of the reaction systems in preparing the three complexes. 4 and 5 have trinuclear structures similar to that of 3. In 1-5, ligand L(1) performs different coordination modes with N,O-bridging in 1 and O,O'-bridging in 2-5, and the metal ions also show different coordination geometries: square planar in 1, square pyramidal in 2, and octahedral in 3-5. 6 has a two-dimensional structure containing (4,4) grids in which L(2) adopts the N,O-bridging mode and the Cu(II) center takes square planar geometry. 7 and 8 are isostructural complexes showing 1D chain structures, with L(2) adopting the O,O-bridging mode. In addition, the intermolecular O-H...N hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions further extend the complexes (except 1 and 6), forming 3D structures. The magnetic properties of 2-7 have been investigated and discussed in detail.  相似文献

A new kind of single-electron lithium bonding complexes H(3)C...LiY (Y=H, F, OH, CN, NC, and CCH) was predicted and characterized in the present paper. Their geometries (C(3v)) with all real harmonic vibrational frequencies were obtained at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level. For each H(3)C...LiY complex, single-electron Li bond is formed between the unpaired electron of CH(3) radical and positively charged Li atom of LiY molecule. Due to the formation of the single-electron Li bond, the C-H bonds of the CH(3) radical bend opposite to the LiY molecule and the Li-Y bond elongates. Abnormally, the three H(3)C...LiY (Y=CN, NC, and CCH) complexes exhibit blueshifted Li-Y stretching frequencies along with the elongated Li-Y bonds. Natural bond orbital analyses suggest ca. 0.02 electron transfer from the methyl radical (CH(3)) to the LiY moiety. In the single occupied molecular orbitals of the H(3)C...LiY complexes, it is also seen that the electron could of the CH(3) radical approaches the Li atom. The single-electron Li bond energies are 5.20-6.94 kcal/mol for the H(3)C...LiY complexes at the CCSD(T)aug-cc-pVDZ+BF (bond functions) level with counterpoise procedure. By comparisons with some related systems, it is concluded that the single-electron Li bonds are stronger than single-electron H bonds, and weaker than conventional Li bonds and pi-Li bonds.  相似文献

A novel series of bis(carbamoylthiophenolato)mercury(II) complexes, [Hg(S-RNHCOC6H4)2] (1, R = 2-t-Bu; 2, R = 2-CH3; 3, R = 2-C6H5CH2; 4, R = 4-t-Bu), and a tetrakis(carbamoylthiophenolato)mercury(II) complex, (NEt4)2[Hg-(S-2-CH3NHCOC6H4)4] (5), were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, IR, 199Hg NMR, and crystallographic analyses. The bis(carbamoylthiophenolato)mercury complexes 1-3 do not have intramolecular NH...S hydrogen bonds between the amide NH group and the sulfur atom coordinated to mercury, whereas the tetrakis(thiophenolato)mercury complex 5 does have an intramolecular NH...S hydrogen bond. A relatively weak NH...S hydrogen bond in 5 can be seen in the 1H NMR spectra and the IR spectra in chloroform and in the solid state. The 199Hg NMR spectra in bis(carbamoylthiophenolato)mercury complexes 1-4 show a downfield shift, with an increase in the flow of electrons to mercury(II) from the oxygen atom due to the intramolecular Hg...O bonding interaction. Conversely, the 199Hg NMR spectra in 5 show a high-field shift with a decrease in the flow of electrons to mercury(II) from the sulfur atom due to the intramolecular NH...S hydrogen bond.  相似文献

The reaction of Pd(OAc)2 with bis-iminophosphoranes Ph3P=NCH2CH2CH2N=PPh3 (1a), [C6H4(C(O)N=PPh3)2-1,3] (1b) and [C6H4(C(O)N=PPh3)2-1,2] (1c), gives the orthopalladated tetranuclear complexes [{Pd(mu-Cl){C6H4(PPh2=NCH2-kappa-C,N)-2}}2CH2]2 (2a) [{Pd(mu-OAc){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',3']2 (2b) and [{Pd(mu-OAc){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',2']2 (2c). The reaction takes place in CH2Cl2 for 1a, but must be performed in glacial acetic acid for 1b and 1c. The process implies in all cases the activation of a C-H bond on a Ph ring of the phosphonium group, with concomitant formation of endo complexes. This is the expected behaviour for 1a, but for 1b and 1c reverses the exo orientation observed in other ketostabilized iminophosphoranes. The influence of the solvent in the orientation of the reaction is discussed. The dinuclear acetylacetonate complexes [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NCH2-kappa-C,N)-2}}2CH2] (3a), [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',3'] (3b) and [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',2'] (3c) have been obtained from the halide-bridging tetranuclear derivatives. The X-ray crystal structure of [3c.4CHCl3] is also reported.  相似文献

According to the (1)H, (13)C and (15)N NMR spectroscopic data and ab initio calculations, the strong N--H...O intramolecular hydrogen bond in the Z-isomers of 2-(2-acylethenyl)pyrroles causes the decrease in the absolute size of the (1)J(N,H) coupling constant by 2 Hz in CDCl(3) and by 4.5 Hz in DMSO-d(6), the deshielding of the proton and nitrogen by 5-6 and 15 ppm, respectively, and the lengthening of the N--H link by 0.025 A. The N--H...N intramolecular hydrogen bond in the 2(2'-pyridyl)pyrrole leads to the increase of the (1)J(N,H) coupling constant by 3 Hz, the deshielding of the proton by 1.5 ppm and the lengthening of the N--H link by 0.004 A. The C--H...N intramolecular hydrogen bond in the 1-vinyl-2-(2'-pyridyl)-pyrrole results in the increase of the (1)J(C,H) coupling constant by 5 Hz, the deshielding of the proton by 1 ppm and the shortening of the C--H link by 0.003 A. Different behavior of the coupling constants and length of the covalent links under the hydrogen bond influence originate from the different nature of the hydrogen bonding (predominantly covalent or electrostatic), which depends in turn on the geometry of the hydrogen bridge. The Fermi-contact mechanism only is responsible for the increase of the coupling constant in the case of the predominantly electrostatic hydrogen bonding, whereas both Fermi-contact and paramagnetic spin-orbital mechanisms bring about the decrease of coupling constant in the case of the predominantly covalent hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

This work deals with a theoretical study of the (CH...C)- hydrogen bonds in CH4, CH3X, and CH2X2 (X = F, Cl) complexed with their homoconjugate and heteroconjugate carbanions. The properties of the complexes are calculated with the B3LYP method using the 6-311++G(d,p) or 6-311++G(2df,2p) basis sets. The deprotonation enthalpies (DPE) of the CH bond or the proton affinities of the carbanions (PA(C-) are calculated as well. All the systems with the exception of the CH4...CHCl2(-) one are characterized by a double minimum potential. In some of the complexes, the (CH(b)...C)- hydrogen bond is linear. In other systems, such as CH3F...CH2F- and CH3F...CHF2(-), there is a large departure from linearity, the systems being stabilized by electrostatic interactions between the nonbonded H of the neutral molecule and the F atom of the carbanion. In the transition state, the (CH(b)...C)- bond is linear, and there is a large contraction of the intermolecular C...C distance. The binding energies vary within a large range, from -1.4 to -11.1 kcal mol(-1) for the stable complexes and -8.6 to -44.1 kcal mol(-1) for the metastable complexes. The energy barriers to proton transfer are between 5 and 20 kcal mol(-1) for the heteroconjugate systems and between 3.8 and 8.3 kcal mol(-1) for the homoconjugate systems. The binding energies of the linear complexes depend exponentially on 1.5DPE - PA(C-), showing that the proton donor is more important than the proton acceptor in determining hydrogen bond strength. The NBO analysis indicates an important electronic reorganization in the two partners. The elongations of the CH bond resulting from the interaction with the carbanion depend on the occupation of the sigma*(CH(b)) antibonding orbitals and on the hybridization of the C bonded to H(b). The frequency shifts of the nu(CH)(A1) stretching vibration range between 15 and 1150 cm(-1). They are linearly correlated to the elongation of the CH(b) bond.  相似文献

The preparation of the [NBu4][Pt(C6F5)3L] complexes (L=triazene, formamidine, 2-aminopyridine,) have been carried out. These ligands contain a hydrogen atom, with more or less acidic character, in a position suitable for establishing an intramolecular hydrogen bonding interaction with the metal center. This interaction has been detected in solution for; its 1H NMR spectrum shows that the resonance assignable to this hydrogen has platinum satellites. For, this coupling is not observed, and the interaction, if it exists, has to be weaker because of the less acidic character of the hydrogen atom. The 2-aminopyridine ligand is more flexible than the triazene or formamidine, and also in this case, no evidence of the interaction in solution is obtained. Nevertheless, if another potential proton acceptor is present, such as ClO4- in [NBu4]2[Pt(C6F5)3(C5H6N2)](ClO4), a conventional N-H...O-Cl hydrogen bond is formed. The crystal structures of complexes have been determined by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The electronic properties, specifically, the dipole and quadrupole moments and the ionization energies of benzene (Bz) and hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and the respective binding energies, of complexes of Bz(HCN)(1-4), have been studied through MP2 and OVGF calculations. The results are compared with the properties of benzene-water complexes, Bz(H(2)O)(1-4), with the purpose of analyzing the electronic properties of microsolvated benzene, with respect to the strength of the CH/π and OH/π hydrogen-bond (H-bond) interactions. The linear HCN chains have the singular ability to interact with the aromatic ring, preserving the symmetry of the latter. A blue shift of the first vertical ionization energies (IEs) of benzene is observed for the linear Bz(HCN)(1-4) clusters, which increases with the length of the chain. NBO analysis indicates that the increase of the IE with the number of HCN molecules is related to a strengthening of the CH/π H-bond, driven by cooperative effects, increasing the acidity of the hydrogen cyanide H atom involved in the π H-bond. The longer HCN chains (n ≥ 3), however, can bend to form CH/N H-bonds with the Bz H atoms. These cyclic structures are found to be slightly more stable than their linear counterparts. For the nonlinear Bz(HCN)(3-4) and Bz(H(2)O)(2-4) complexes, an increase of the binding energy with the number of solvent molecules and a decrease of the IE of benzene, relative to the values for the Bz(HCN) and Bz(H(2)O) complexes, respectively, are observed. Although a strengthening of the CH/π and OH/π H-bonds, with increasing n, also takes place for the Bz(H(2)O)(2-4) and Bz(HCN)(3-4) nonlinear complexes, Bz proton donor, CH/O, and CH/N interactions are at the origin of this decrease. Thus CH/π and OH/π H-bonds lead to higher IEs of Bz, whereas the weaker CH/N and CH/O H-bond interactions have the opposite effect. The present results emphasize the importance of both aromatic XH/π (X = C, O) and CH/X (X = N, O) interactions for understanding the structure and electronic properties of Bz(HCN)(n) and Bz(H(2)O)(n) complexes.  相似文献

The structural and spectroscopic changes in complexes of FCCKrH...Y and FKrCCH...Y (Y = BF, CO, N(2), OH(2), OH(CH(3)), O(CH(3))(2)) were computed at the MP2∕6-31++G(d,p) level of theory and compared with the corresponding properties for FCCH...Y. The computed bond length changes and frequency shifts on complexation were rationalized by comparing with a perturbation model, which gives quantitative agreement with the standard ab initio results. A recently proposed model also gives a reasonable qualitative account of the observed trends in these complexes.  相似文献

The optimised geometries of heterocyclic hydrogen-bonded complexes, C2H4O...HX and C3H6O...HX, where X=F or Cl, were determined at DFT/B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) computational level. Structural, electronic and vibrational properties of these complexes are used in order to compare the strained ring, which confer the great reactivity of these heterocyclic rings with monoprotic acids, forming a primary hydrogen bond. A secondary hydrogen bond between the hydrogen atoms of the CH2 groups and the halide species also takes place, thus causing a nonlinearity (characterized by the theta angle), in the primary hydrogen bond.  相似文献
