In 1831, Michel Chasles proved the existence of a fixed line under a general displacement in ${\mathbb{R}^3}$ . The fixed line called the screw axis of displacement was obtained by McCharthy in [10]. The purpose of this paper is to develop the method which is given for the pure rotation in [14], and thus to obtain the screw axis of spatial displacement in 3-dimensional Minkowski space. Firstly, we give a relation between dual vectors and lines in ${\mathbb{E}^{3}_{1}}$ , characterize the screw axis. Also, we discuss the dual split quaternion representation of a spatial displacement.  相似文献

Let ${2\leq k\in \mathbb{N}}$ . Recently, Costantini and Zacher obtained a lattice-theoretic characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^k}$ of finite soluble groups with nilpotent length at most k. It is the aim of this paper to give a lattice-theoretic characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^{k-1}\mathfrak{A}}$ of finite groups with commutator subgroup in ${\mathfrak{N}^{k-1}}$ ; in addition, our method also yields a new characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^k}$ . The main idea of our approach is to use two well-known theorems of Gaschütz on the Frattini and Fitting subgroups of finite groups.  相似文献

We formulate, and in some cases prove, three statements concerning the purity or, more generally, the naturality of the resolution of various modules one can attach to a generic curve of genus g and a torsion point of ? in its Jacobian. These statements can be viewed an analogues of Green’s Conjecture and we verify them computationally for bounded genus. We then compute the cohomology class of the corresponding non-vanishing locus in the moduli space $\mathcal{R}_{g,\ell}$ of twisted level ? curves of genus g and use this to derive results about the birational geometry of $\mathcal{R}_{g, \ell}$ . For instance, we prove that $\mathcal{R}_{g,3}$ is a variety of general type when g>11 and the Kodaira dimension of $\mathcal{R}_{11,3}$ is greater than or equal to 19. In the last section we explain probabilistically the unexpected failure of the Prym-Green conjecture in genus 8 and level 2.  相似文献

A singular rank one perturbation of a self-adjoint operator A in a Hilbert space is considered, where and but with the usual A–scale of Hilbert spaces. A modified version of the Aronszajn-Krein formula is given. It has the form where F denotes the regularized Borel transform of the scalar spectral measure of A associated with . In this paper, based on the basis composed of two sets of splines with distinct local supports, cubic spline quasi-interpolating operators are reviewed on nonuniform type-2 triangulation. The variation diminishing operator is defined by discrete linear functionals based on a fixed number of triangular mesh-points, which can reproduce any polynomial of nearly best degrees. And by means of the modulus of continuity, the estimation of the operator approximating a real sufficiently smooth function is reviewed as well. Moreover, the derivatives of the nearly optimal variation diminishing operator can approximate that of the real sufficiently smooth function uniformly over quasi-uniform type-2 triangulation. In this paper we study the approximation of stable linear time-invariant systems for the Paley–Wiener space \(\mathcal {PW}_{\pi }^2\), i.e., the set of bandlimited functions with finite \(L^2\)-norm, by convolution sums. It is possible to use either, the convolution sum where the time variable is in the argument of the bandlimited impulse response, or the convolution sum where the time variable is in the argument of the function, as an approximation process. In addition to the pointwise and uniform convergence behavior, the convergence behavior in the norm of the considered function space, i.e. the \(L^2\)-norm in our case, is important. While it is well-known that both convolution sums converge uniformly on the whole real axis, the \(L^2\)-norm of the second convolution sum can be divergent for certain functions and systems. We show that the there exist an infinite dimensional closed subspace of functions and an infinite dimensional closed subspace of systems, such that for any pair of function and system from these two sets, we have norm divergence.  相似文献

The classical limit of the scaled elliptic algebra $\mathcal{A}$ ?,η ( $\widetilde{\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}}_2$ ) is investigated. The limiting Lie algebra is described in two equivalent ways: as a central extension of the algebra of generalized automorphic sl2 valued functions on a strip and as an extended algebra of decreasing automorphic sl2 valued functions on the real line. A bialgebra structure and an infinite-dimensional representation in the Fock space are studied. We present the τ-functions for the hypergeometric solutions to the q-Painlevé system of type E8(1)E_{8}^{(1)} in a determinant formula whose entries are given by Rahman’s q-hypergeometric integrals. By using the symmetry of the q-hypergeometric integral, we can construct 56 solutions and describe the action of W(E7(1))W(E_{7}^{(1)}) on the solutions.  相似文献

We discuss the proof of Kazhdan and Lusztig of the equivalence of the Drinfeld category \({\mathcal D}({\mathfrak g},\hbar)\) of \({\mathfrak g}\)-modules and the category of finite dimensional \(U_q{\mathfrak g}\)-modules, \(q=e^{\pi i\hbar}\), for \(\hbar\in{\mathbb C}\setminus{\mathbb Q}^*\). Aiming at operator algebraists the result is formulated as the existence for each \(\hbar\in i{\mathbb R}\) of a normalized unitary 2-cochain \({\mathcal F}\) on the dual \(\hat G\) of a compact simple Lie group G such that the convolution algebra of G with the coproduct twisted by \({\mathcal F}\) is *-isomorphic to the convolution algebra of the q-deformation G q of G, while the coboundary of \({\mathcal F}^{-1}\) coincides with Drinfeld’s KZ-associator defined via monodromy of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations.  相似文献

We classify the solutions to the equation (−Δ) m u = (2m − 1)!e 2mu on giving rise to a metric with finite total Q-curvature in terms of analytic and geometric properties. The analytic conditions involve the growth rate of u and the asymptotic behaviour of Δu at infinity. As a consequence we give a geometric characterization in terms of the scalar curvature of the metric at infinity, and we observe that the pull-back of this metric to S 2m via the stereographic projection can be extended to a smooth Riemannian metric if and only if it is round.  相似文献
