The Fe2VAl Heusler alloy is of great interest because ab initio calculations predict the absence of magnetization in it and a half-metal behavior with a pseudogap at the Fermi level. At the same time, experimental data (low-temperature specific heat, electrical resistivity, and magnetic properties) show that it is difficult to achieve such characteristics, and Fe2VAl samples usually have the characteristics of a poor magnetic metal. Ab initio calculations have been performed for ordered and disordered (Fe1–xV x )3Al Heusler alloys with x = 0.33. It has been shown that the alloy in a structurally ordered state (L21 structure) is a half-metal with a deep pseudogap at the Fermi level and does not have magnetization. At the same time, antisite defects in the iron and vanadium sublattices of the disordered alloy (D03 structure) lead to an increase in the conductivity and to the appearance of spin polarization and magnetization of (2.1±0.1)μB/f.u. The short-range order in the disordered phase has been generated by increasing the concentration of clusters characteristic of the bcc structure of α-Fe, which results in an increase in the magnetization to (2.5±0.1)μB/f.u.  相似文献

The structural and physical properties of the layered Yb2Fe3O7 have been extensively investigated. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations at room temperature reveal the presence of diffuse zigzag-type streaks at 1/3(h h l) running along the c* axis direction, suggesting the presence of a charge ordered state with a shorter coherence length in comparison with that in Lu2Fe3O7. The measurements of magnetization demonstrate that the replacement of Lu3+ by the magnetic Yb3+ ion in this layered system could result in visible effects on the low-temperature magnetic properties: the ferrimagnetic phase transition temperature decreases and an additional magnetic anomaly possibly attributed to antiferromagnetic coupling between Yb and Fe layers appears at around 50 K. Analysis of the dielectric properties shows that the Yb2Fe3O7 material in general has a large dielectric constant of about 5000 at room temperature, and a broader relaxation time distribution in comparison with ErFe2O4.  相似文献

The magnetic susceptibility and specific heat of single crystals of the Ba2Fe2GeO7 barium ferrigermanate are investigated. It is revealed that the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility exhibits a kink at a temperature T = 8.5 K. The number of nonequivalent positions of Fe3+ ions and their occupancies are determined using Mössbauer spectroscopy. It is shown that the Fe3+ ions located in tetrahedral positions T2 are ordered incompletely, which is inconsistent with the results obtained previously. An assumption is made regarding the possible ground magnetic state of the Ba2Fe2GeO7 compound.  相似文献

To analyze the origin of the magnetic enhancement of Fe-Ni alloy, the electronicconfigurations and magnetic properties were investigated using density functional theorybased on the first-principle. The supercell (5 × 1 × 1) of Fe,Fe9Ni1 and Fe8Ni2 were constructed. Thedefect formation energy, band structure, density of states and electron density differencewere calculated. The results showed that Ni doping changed the electronic configuration ofFe atoms, resulting in the enhancement of spin polarization of Fe and the larger Bohrmagnetic moment in Fe-Ni alloys (Fe9Ni1). The results showed thatthe charge transfer and the atomic spacing between Fe atoms and the dopant Ni atoms playedan important role in determination of magnetic moment. The value of Fe supercell(5 × 1 × 1), Fe9Ni1 and Fe8Ni2 were 23.14,23.34 and 22.61μ B, respectively.  相似文献

“Zero field”-Mössbauer and magnetization measurements have been performed on an amorphous Fe76Mo8Cu1B15 alloy in the temperature range of (10-340) K. The room-temperature Mössbauer spectrum exhibits magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interactions. At approximately 306 K, the magnetic interactions vanish and the alloy shows fully paramagnetic behavior. On the other hand, the relative representation of paramagnetic component becomes weak with decreasing temperature and below 220 K the magnetic dipole interactions prevail. Below this temperature an anomaly in the low-temperature dependencies of ac susceptibility and of magnetization, measured during cooling the specimen from 340 K down to 20 K is observed. The anomaly on the magnetization curve vanishes in the field of 200 Oe.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the Nd0.5Gd0.5Fe3(BO3)4 single crystal have been studied in principal crystallographic directions in magnetic fields to 90 kG in the temperature range 2–300 K; in addition, the heat capacity has been measured in the range 2–300 K. It has been found that, below the Néel temperature T N = 32 K down to 2 K, the single crystal exhibits an easy-plane antiferromagnetic structure. A hysteresis has been detected during magnetization of the crystal in the easy plane in fields of 1.0–3.5 kG, and a singularity has been found in the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility in the easy plane at a temperature of 11 K in fields B < 1 kG. It has been shown that the singularity is due to appearance of the hysteresis. The origin of the magnetic properties of the crystal near the hysteresis has been discussed.  相似文献

The structural, magnetic, and electrical properties of half-metallic Heusler alloys Fe2MnAl, Fe2MnSi, and Co2MnAl have been investigated in the temperature range of 4–900 K. According to the X-ray diffraction analysis, these alloys have the B2 and L21 structures with different degrees of atomic order. The magnetic state of the alloys is considered as a two-sublattice ferrimagnet. The electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power have been discussed in the framework of the two-current conduction model taking into account the existence of an energy gap in the electronic spectrum of the alloys near the Fermi level for the subband with spin-down (minority) electrons.  相似文献

Measurements of magnetic and transport properties were performed on needle-shaped single crystals of Ce12Fe57.5As41 and La12Fe57.5As41. The availability of a complete set of data enabled a side-by-side comparison between these two rare earth compounds. Both compounds exhibited multiple magnetic orders within 2–300 K and metamagnetic transitions at various fields. Ferromagnetic transitions with Curie temperatures of 100 and 125 K were found for Ce12Fe57.5As41 and La12Fe57.5As41, respectively, followed by antiferromagnetic type spin reorientations near Curie temperatures. The magnetic properties underwent complex evolution in the magnetic field for both compounds. An antiferromagnetic phase transition at about 60 K and 0.2 T was observed merely for Ce12Fe57.5As41. The field-induced magnetic phase transition occurred from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic structure. A strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy was evident from magnetization measurements of Ce12Fe57.5As41. A temperature-field phase diagram was present for these two rare earth systems. In addition, a logarithmic temperature dependence of electrical resistivity was observed in the two compounds within a large temperature range of 150–300 K, which is rarely found in 3D-based compounds. It may be related to Kondo scattering described by independent localized Fe 3d moments interacting with conduction electrons.  相似文献

The structure of the Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 soft magnetic alloy has been investigated using X-ray diffraction in transmission geometry. The initial alloy prepared by rapid quenching from the melt has a short-range order (∼2 nm) in the atomic arrangement, which is characteristic of the Fe-Si structure with a body-centered cubic lattice. The alloy subjected to annealing contains Fe-Si nanocrystals with sizes as large as 10–12 nm. The annealing under a tensile load leads to an extension of the nanocrystal lattice so that, after cooling, a significant residual deformation is retained. This can be judged from the relative shifts of the (hkl) peaks in the X-ray diffraction patterns measured for two orientations of the scattering vector, namely, parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the load applied. The deformation is anisotropic: within the accuracy of the experiment, no distortions in the [111] direction are observed and the distortions in the [100] direction are maximum. It is known that crystals with a composition close to Fe3Si exhibit a negative magnetostriction; i.e., their magnetization induced under a load (Villari effect) applied along the [100] direction is perpendicular to this direction along one of the easy magnetization ([010] or [001]) axes. In the alloy, the orientation of the nanocrystal axes is isotropic and the majority of the nanocrystals have a composition close to Fe3Si. The direction of magnetization of these nanocrystals is determined by the residual deformation of their lattice and lies near the plane perpendicular to the direction of the tensile load applied during heat treatment. This is responsible for the appearance of transverse magnetic anisotropy of the easy-plane type in the Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 alloy.  相似文献

Polyaniline/Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 nanocomposite was synthesized by a simple, general and inexpensive in-situ polymerization method in w/o microemulsion. The effects of polyaniline coating on the magnetic properties of Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles were investigated. The structural, morphological and magnetic properties of as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and magnetic measurements. The morphology analysis confirmed that polyaniline was deposited on the porous surface of magnetic Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4. It was shown that the saturation magnetization and coercivity of Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 decreased after polyaniline coating, which can be interpreted by the interparticle dipole–dipole interactions that contributed to magnetic anisotropy and changed the magnetic properties of the nanoparticles. Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles with tunable Curie temperature and saturation magnetization are synthesized using hydrothermal co-precipitation method. Particle size is controlled in the range of 54 to 135 Å by pH and incubation time of the reaction. All the particles exhibit super-paramagnetic behaviour at room temperature. Langevin’s theory incorporating the interparticle interaction was used to fit the virgin curve of particle magnetization. The low-temperature magnetization follows Bloch spin wave theory. Curie temperature derived from magnetic thermogravimetric analysis shows that Curie temperature increases with increasing particle size. Using these particles magnetic fluid is synthesized and magnetic characterization is reported. The monolayer coating of surfactant on particle surface is confirmed using thermogravimetric measurement. The same technique can be extended to study the magnetic phase transition. The Curie temperature derived using this measurement complies with the low-temperature magnetic measurement. The room-temperature and high-temperature magnetization measurements are also studied for magnetic fluid systems. The magnetic parameters derived for fluid are in good agreement with those obtained for the particle system.  相似文献

The low-temperature specific heat C p of La(Fe0.873Co0.007Al0.12)13 compound has been measured in two states: (i) antiferromagnetic (AFM) with a Néel temperature of T N = 192 K and (ii) ferromagnetic (FM). The FM order appears at T = 4.2 K in a sample exposed to an external magnetic field with induction B C ≥ 2.5 T and is retained for a long time in a zero field at temperatures up to T*C = 23 K. The coefficient γFM in the low-temperature specific heat C = γT + βT 3 in the FM state differs quite insignificantly from that (γAFM) in the AFM state. Contributions to the low-temperature specific heat, which are related to a change in the elastic and magnetoelastic energy caused by magnetostrictive deformations, are considered.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the magnetite Fe3O4(110) surface have been studied by spin resolved Auger electron spectroscopy (SRAES). Experimental spin resolved Auger spectra are presented. The results of calculation of Auger lines polarization carried out on the basis of electronic state density are presented. Problems related to magnetic moments of bivalent (Fe2+) and trivalent (Fe3+) ions on the Fe3O4(110) surface are discussed. It is established that the deposition of a thin bismuth film on the surface results in significant growth of polarization of iron Auger peaks, which is due to additional spin-orbit scattering of electrons by bismuth atoms.  相似文献

The structure of an LiNi0.4Fe0.6O2 cubic solid solution is determined using magnetic measurements and electron diffraction. It is found that this solid solution has a microinhomogeneous structure due to the formation of superparamagnetic clusters. The electron diffraction analysis of LiNi0.4Fe0.6O2 samples has revealed diffuse scattering characteristic of the substitutional short-range order in ordered solid solutions with a B1-type structure. It is shown that the short-range order is associated with the LiNiO2-type rhombohedral superstructure (space group \(R\bar 3m\)), i.e., with the redistribution of lithium and nickel atoms in the (111)B1 alternating planes. The short-range order is observed in regions with a nickel content higher than the mean nickel content corresponding to the macroscopic composition.  相似文献

The influence of different degrees of crystallinity on the magnetic behaviour of heat-treated nanocrystalline Fe76Mo8Cu1B15 alloy has been investigated using a combination of Mössbauer spectrometry and magnetic measurements. The evolution of magnetically active regions and their growth with rising contents of nanocrystals are followed by distributions of hyperfine interactions. Combined electric quadrupole and magnetic dipole interactions corresponding to non-magnetic and magnetic regions inside the amorphous phase, respectively, were revealed. A deterioration of the soft-magnetic properties takes place for the samples exhibiting low fraction of crystallinity. The very good soft-magnetic behaviour is regained for the samples where the primary crystallization process is almost finished.  相似文献

Single crystals of Pb2Fe2Ge2O9 have been grown. They were subjected to X-ray diffraction, magnetic, neutron diffraction, Mössbauer and spin resonance studies. It has been established that Pb2Fe2Ge2O9 is a weak ferromagnet with a Néel temperature T N = 46 K, and the exchange and spin-flop transition fields have been estimated. It has been demonstrated that the weak ferromagnetic moment is actually the result of the single-ion anisotropy axes for the magnetic moments of different magnetic sublattices being not collinear.  相似文献

We have performed a complex investigation of the structure and the magnetic and electrical properties of a warwickite single crystal with the composition Fe1.91V0.09BO4. The results of Mössbauer measurements at T=300 K indicate that there exist “localized” (Fe2+, Fe3+) and “delocalized” (Fe2.5+) states distributed over two crystallographically nonequivalent positions. The results of magnetic measurements show that warwickite is a P-type ferrimagnet below T=130 K. The material exhibits hopping conductivity involving strongly interacting electrons. The experimental data are analyzed in comparison to the properties of the initial (unsubstituted) Fe2BO4 warwickite. The entire body of data on the electric conductivity and magnetization are interpreted on a qualitative basis.  相似文献

New trisubstituted biphthalonitrile/magnetite (TSB/Fe3O4) magnetic hybrid microspheres were synthesized from TSB and FeCl3 · 6H2O using the method of one-stage thermal temperature crystallization of solvents. The morphology and structure of magnetic hybrid microspheres were inspected using a scanning electron microscope, IR Fourier spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. It was found that the grown TSB/Fe3O4 magnetic hybrid microspheres represent spherical particles with an average size of ~137 nm and a small size spread. The size and size distribution of magnetic hybrid microspheres can be controlled by a small change in the ratio of TSB and Fe3+ ion contents in the microsphere. TSB/Fe3O4 hybrid microspheres exhibit a rather high saturation magnetization (58.16 emu g–1) and new microwave electromagnetic properties, i.e., lower (in comparison with published) dielectric losses at low frequencies; magnetic losses are increased obviously due to an increase in the TSB content. Furthermore, it is detected that magnetic hybrid microspheres absorb microwaves, and strong reflection losses in a wide frequency range are established. The effective reflection loss of–31 dB is obtained in the microwave range from 2 to 16 GHz due to TSB content variations. Wide absorption properties of microwaves along with regular spherical shape and excellent magnetic properties offer wide opportunities for various applications of TSB/Fe3O4 magnetic hybrid microspheres as functional materials.  相似文献

The short-range order around boron, aluminum, and iron atoms in Fe75B25 and Fe70Al5B25 amorphous alloys has been studied by 11B and 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance at 4.2 K and 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy at 87 and 295 K. The average magnetic moment of iron atoms μ(Fe) in these alloys has been measured by a vibrating sample magnetometer. It has been revealed that the substitution of aluminum atoms for iron atoms does not disturb μ(Fe) in the Fe70Al5B25 alloy, gives rise to an additional contribution to the 11B NMR spectrum in the low-frequency range, and shifts maxima of the distribution of hyperfine fields at the 57Fe nuclei. In the Fe70Al5B25 amorphous alloy, the aluminum atoms substitute for iron atoms in the nearest coordination shells of boron and iron atoms. This alloy consists of nanoclusters in which boron and iron atoms have a short-range order of the tetragonal Fe3B phase type.  相似文献
