We present here two methods of analysis of the complex moving waveguide. One approach is a numerical technique based on Davidenko's method, the other is a perturbation method. Numerical results by Davidenko's method are compared with these obtained from the perturbation method. It is found that the results of the perturbation method are in a good agreement with the numerical one. A comparative study of the propagation and attenuation characteristics of the stationary and moving waveguides has also been investigated and discussed. These results could be used in designing many optical moving sensors. 相似文献

Homogeneous balance method for solving nonlinear partial differential equation(s) is extended to solving initial-value problem and getting new solution(s) from a known solution of the equation(s) under consideration. The approximate equations for long water waves are chosen to illustrate the method, infinitely many simple-solitary-wave solutions and infinitely many rational function solutions, especially the closed form of the solution for initial-value problem, are obtained by using the extended homogeneous balance method given here. 相似文献

In this paper, a new type of horizontal-flat and vertical-flat closed elliptic-groove guides is firstly presented. The field components and characteristic equations for some main transmission modes of the closed elliptic-groove guides are derived by with the help of the mode-matching method and Mathieu function. The variations of the cut-off wavelengths along with eccentricities, widths and lengths of the parallel plates for a number of lower order transmission modes of the closed elliptic-groove guides are also analysed in detail. The calculated results in good agreement with ones in the relevant references are of very important values in theoretical researches and actual applications of closed elliptic-groove guides for millimeter and submillimeter waves. 相似文献

Davidenko's method is implemented for determining the complex propagation constants (Modal index and attenuation coefficient) of nonlinear TE waves guided by an asymmetrical lossy nonlinear dielectric wave-guide. The waveguide structure has a generalized nonlinear substrate with a permittivity of the form | E |and an absorbing cover making the propagation constant to be complex. Davidenko's method shows to be a fast and accurate analysis in finding the complex propagation constants. The effects of initial condition parameter on the propagation characteristics are investigated, analyzed and discussed. 相似文献

The eikonal equation is constructed for a weak electromagnetic wave that propagates by the laws of parameterized post-Maxwellian electrodynamics of vacuum in the magnetic dipole and gravitational fields of pulsars and magnetars. An approximate solution has been found for the equation for the rays, along which two mutually perpendicular normal modes of electromagnetic wave are propagating. The ray bending angles and time delay of the first normal mode relatively the second normal mode of the electromagnetic waves polarization states are determined as resultant from the nonlinear effect of the gravitational and magnetic dipole fields of neutron stars on the rays. 相似文献

This paper is devoted to time domain numerical solutions of two-dimensional
(2D) material interface problems governed by the transverse magnetic
(TM) and transverse electric (TE) Maxwell's equations with discontinuous electromagnetic
solutions. Due to the discontinuity in wave solutions across the interface, the
usual numerical methods will converge slowly or even fail to converge. This calls for
the development of advanced interface treatments for popular Maxwell solvers. We
will investigate such interface treatments by considering two typical Maxwell solvers
– one based on collocation formulation and the other based on Galerkin formulation. To
restore the accuracy reduction of the collocation finite-difference time-domain (FDTD)
algorithm near an interface, the physical jump conditions relating discontinuous wave
solutions on both sides of the interface must be rigorously enforced. For this purpose,
a novel matched interface and boundary (MIB) scheme is proposed in this work, in
which new jump conditions are derived so that the discontinuous and staggered features
of electric and magnetic field components can be accommodated. The resulting
MIB time-domain (MIBTD) scheme satisfies the jump conditions locally and suppresses
the staircase approximation errors completely over the Yee lattices. In the discontinuous
Galerkin time-domain (DGTD) algorithm – a popular Galerkin Maxwell solver, a
proper numerical flux can be designed to accurately capture the jumps in the electromagnetic
waves across the interface and automatically preserves the discontinuity in
the explicit time integration. The DGTD solution to Maxwell interface problems is explored
in this work, by considering a nodal based high order discontinuous Galerkin
method. In benchmark TM and TE tests with analytical solutions, both MIBTD and
DGTD schemes achieve the second order of accuracy in solving circular interfaces. In
comparison, the numerical convergence of the MIBTD method is slightly more uniform,
while the DGTD method is more flexible and robust. 相似文献

We present a nondestructive technique to predict the refractive index profiles of isotropic planar waveguides, on which a thin gold film is deposited to as the cladding. The negative dielectric constant of the metal results in significant differences of effective indices between TE and TM modes. The two polarized modes and a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with abundant information of the surface index can be used to construct the refractive index profiles of single-mode and two-mode waveguides at a fixed wavelength. 相似文献

In the liquid sodium coolant of the Fast Reactor there are several measurements which may be performed using ultrasonic techniques. This paper gives a brief outline of one such measurement and then describes the design of an ultrasonic waveguide for the generation and detection of ultrasound in this hostile situation. We derive a bosonized Hamiltonian for a semiconductor quantum well with a light field by a new bosonization method taking exactly into account the composite-particle effects of excitons. Then we apply the bosonized Hamiltonian to the four-wave-mixing (FWM) processes. The obtained Hamiltonian describes two-boson states corresponding to bound and unbound two-exciton states and guarantees exclusion of unphysical states, which cannot exist in the fermionic space due to the Pauli exclusion principle. Calculated results of the FWM signals are in good agreement with the experimental ones, and therefore, the bosonized Hamiltonian turns out to be able to describe two-exciton correlations effectively. 相似文献

The transmission characteristics of the mode TE11 for a new type of closed trapezoidal-groove guide with arbitrary inclined angle are analysed in detail with the mode-matching method in this paper. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental values in the published reference. The dispersion of the closed trapezoidal-groove guide is very low. The relationships of the cut-off wavelength and the attenuation constant with the structural sizes of the closed trapezoidal-groove waveguide are also obtained. The given results have very important value in study, design, manufacture and application for closed trapezoidal-groove waveguide. 相似文献

This paper addresses the computation of dispersion curves and mode shapes of elastic guided waves in axisymmetric waveguides. The approach is based on a Scaled Boundary Finite Element formulation, that has previously been presented for plate structures and general three-dimensional waveguides with complex cross-section. The formulation leads to a Hamiltonian eigenvalue problem for the computation of wavenumbers and displacement amplitudes, that can be solved very efficiently. In the axisymmetric representation, only the radial direction in a cylindrical coordinate system has to be discretized, while the circumferential direction as well as the direction of propagation are described analytically. It is demonstrated, how the computational costs can drastically be reduced by employing spectral elements of extremely high order. Additionally, an alternative formulation is presented, that leads to real coefficient matrices. It is discussed, how these two approaches affect the computational efficiency, depending on the elasticity matrix. In the case of solid cylinders, the singularity of the governing equations that occurs in the center of the cross-section is avoided by changing the quadrature scheme. Numerical examples show the applicability of the approach to homogeneous as well as layered structures with isotropic or anisotropic material behavior. 相似文献

构造了导数光谱与多组分浓度间的非线性模型 ,以偏最小二乘法估计模型参数 ,建立了同时测定两组分的非线性偏最小二乘导数分光光度法 ,方法用于复方新诺明中磺胺甲唑SMZ(Sulfamethoxazole)和甲氧苄啶TMP(Trimethoprim)含量的测定 ,10份模拟样中SMZ ,TMP的回收率分别为 99 8%和 10 0 1% ,RSD分别为 1 3%和 1 6 %。结果明显好于线性偏最小二乘导数分光光度法。用该法测定复方新诺明片中的二组分含量测定结果与药典方法一致 ,该法为复方制剂的分光光度分析提供了更为理想的新途径。 相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made of nonlinear propagation of ultra-low-frequency electromagnetic waves in a magnetized
two fluid (negatively charged dust and positively charged ion fluids) dusty plasma. These are modified Alfvén waves for small
value of and are modified magnetosonic waves for large , where is the angle between the directions of the external magnetic field and the wave propagation. A nonlinear evolution equation
for the wave magnetic field, which is known as Korteweg de Vries (K-dV) equation and which admits a stationary solitary wave
solution, is derived by the reductive perturbation method. The effects of external magnetic field and dust characteristics
on the amplitude and the width of these solitary structures are examined. The implications of these results to some space
and astrophysical plasma systems, especially to planetary ring-systems, are briefly mentioned.

of such solitons are treated both analytically in the continuum

In this paper, the cut-off and dispersion characteristics of a new kind of closed trapezoidal-groove waveguide that has more advantages than open groove waveguides are analyzed with the help of the boundary element method, the relationship between cut-off wavelengths and variations of guide's relative sizes is discussed in detail. The calculated results are in good agreement with those in the relevant reference.
