Summary 1. In a study of the carbohydrates ofEremurus regeli Vved., according to the period of development of the plant, it has been found that in the leaves the maximum amount of pectin substances is present in the period of the ripening of the seeds. In the tuber roots, water-soluble polysaccharides form the main component and they are present in maximum amount after the withering of the epigeal part.2. A preliminary investigation of the pectin substances from the leaves has shown that they belong to the heteropolysaccharides consisting of galacturonic acid and the neutral monosaccharides xylose, rhamnose, arabinose, and galactose.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR. Summary 1. A polysaccharide has been isolated from the leaves ofPlantage major L. and its monosaccharide composition has been studied.2. It has been established that the polysaccharide investigated contains D-galacturonic acid, D-galactose, D-glucose, D-xylose, L-rhamnose, L-arabinose, a partially methylated galactose, and two unidentified monosaccharides.3. The high content of galacturonic residues (68%) in the polysaccharide enables it to be classified as a pectin.Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, Vol. 1, No. 5, pp. 297–302, 1965  相似文献

Summary Viscous flaxseed mucilage has previously been described as a mixture of two polysaccharides (acidic and neutral). In this study, we have shown that a combination of ion exchange and size exclusion chromatography enables purification of three distinct polysaccharides. Molecular weight (Mw) analysis, performed by size-exclusion chromatography on line with a multi-angle laser light-scattering detector, revealed that the main polysaccharide (75%) was a neutral polymer with a Mw of approximately 1.2 × 106 g mol–1. The two others were acidic polysaccharides denoted AF1 (3.75%, 6.5 × 105 g mol–1) and AF2 (21.25%, 1.7 × 104 g mol–1).Presented at: International Symposium on Separation and Characterization of Natural and Synthetic Macromolecules, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, February 5–7, 2003  相似文献

Water-soluble polysaccharides and pectin substances have been isolated from various organs ofA. neglectus and their quantitative amounts and monosacchardie compositions have been determined. Native acetylated glucomannans (A, B, and C) containing 13, 15, and 20% of acetyl groups and being homogeneous according to the results of gel chromatography have been isolated from the roots. On the basis of the results of periodate oxidation, methylation, and IR spectroscopy it has been established that the neutral polysaccharides of the roots ofA. neglectus is a mixture of three glucomannans consisting of -14 linear-bound D-gluco- and D-mannopyranose residues.Deceased.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. A chemical and immunochemical study of the LPSs of the microorganismsVibrio alginolyticus (strains 1385–80, 945–80, and 2076–80) has been made. A difference in the monosaccharide composition of the LPSs of the strains studied has been shown. It had been established that the LPSs of strains 945–80 and 2076–80 possess a high serological specificity, while the LPS of strain 1385–80 differ serologically from them. A suggestion is made of the role of different monosaccharides in the formation of the immunochemical determinants of the LPSs of the strains studied.Pacific Ocean Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Far-Eastern Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Vladivostok. Water-soluble polysaccharides have been isolated from two species ofEremurus — E. lactiflorus andE. luteus — with yields of 13.5% and 20.5%, respectively. They contained mainly glucose and mannose in ratios of 1:5 and 1:3.1. The polysaccharides ofE. lactiflorus were separated from a column of DEAE-cellulose. The yield of neutral fraction was 10.3%. Gel filtration of the polysaccharides on Sephadex G-200 showed their polydispersity. Homogeneous fractions were obtained by fractional precipitation with ethanol. They have been characterized with respect to monosaccharide composition, molecular weight, and IR spectra.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent.
