The spinless Bethe—Salpeter equation is solved for three attractive static quark-antiquark potentials of the form V(r)=–ar+br+c, 01, and the effective non-Coulombic power-law potential of the formV(r)=ar 0.1+c to obtain the spin-averaged energy levels in bottomonium (b ) and charmonium (c ) families. The shifted 1/N expansion technique is used. Calculations of the energy eigenvalues are carried out up to third order and parameters of each potential are adjusted to obtain the best agreement with the experimental spin-averaged data (SAD). Flavor-dependent and flavor-independent cases are considered in this work.  相似文献

We show that there are canonical isomorphisms between Hochschild cohomology spaces , where is the algebra of smooth functions on a manifold M and the space of skew multivector fields over M. This implies that continuous and differential deformation theories of coincide.  相似文献

We calculate the one-photon loop radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering → , that subprocess which determines in the one-photon exchange approximation the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung reaction ZZ . Ultraviolet and infrared divergencies of the loop integrals are both treated by dimensional regularization. Analytical expressions for the O() corrections to the virtual Compton scattering amplitudes, A(s, u, Q) and B(s, u, Q) , are derived with their full dependence on the (small) photon virtuality Q from 9 classes of contributing one-loop diagrams. Infrared finiteness of these virtual radiative corrections is achieved (in the standard way) by including soft photon radiation below an energy cut-off . In the region of low center-of-mass energies, where the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung process is used to extract the pion electric and magnetic polarizabilities, we find radiative corrections up to about -3% for = 5 MeV. Furthermore, we extend our calculation of the radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering → by including the leading pion-structure effect in the form of the polarizability difference - . Our analytical results are particularly relevant for analyzing the data of the COMPASS experiment at CERN which aims at measuring the pion electric and magnetic polarizabilities with high statistics using the Primakoff effect.  相似文献

A systematic study of possible deuteronlike twomeson bound states, deusons, is presented. Previous arguments that many such bound states may exist are elaborated with detailed arguments and numerical calculations including, in particular, the tensor potential. This tensor potential which is crucial for the deuteron binding is shown to be very important also in the mesonic case. Especially, in the pseudoscalar3 P 0 pseudoscalar-vector and vector-vector channels the important observation is made that the centrifugal barrier from theP-wave can be overcome by the 1/r 2 and 1/r 3 terms of the tensor potential. In the heavy meson sector one-pion exchange alone is strong enough to form at least deuteronlike and composites bound by approximately 50 MeV. Composites of and states bound by pion exchange alone are expected near the thresholds, while in the light meson sector one generally needs some additional short range attraction to form bound states. The quantum numbers of these states areI=0, andJ PC=0–+, 1++ for the states andI=0,J PC=0++, O–+, 1+– and 2++ for the composites. In the states: b (10545), b1(10562) are predicted and in , one finds the states: b (10590), bQ (10582),h b(10608), b2(10602). Near the threshold the states: c (3870), c0(3870) are predicted, and near the threshold one finds the states: b0(4015), c (4015),h c(4015), c2(4015). Within the light meson sector pion exchange gives strong attraction for and systems with quantum numbers where the best non- candidates exist, although pion exchange alone is not strong enough to support such bound states. Thus, although one cannot conclude with certainty it to be the case, this fact does favour the picture that the (1440) and thef 1 (1420) are mainly composites and thef 0(1710) mainly a bound state, while thef 0(1515) andf 2(1520) could be predominantly composites. If the predicted and states are found, these would support this interpretation of the light states. In channels with exotic flavour orCP quantum numbers pion exchange is generally repulsive or quite weak. Therefore one does not expect that such deuteronlike bound states exist, althoughB*B* may be an exception.  相似文献

High momentum transfer electrodisintegration of polarized and unpolarized deuterium targets,d(e, ep)n is studied. We show that the importance of final state interactions FSI, occuring when a knocked out nucleon interacts with the other nucleon, depends strongly on the momentum of the spectator nucleon. In particular, these FSI occur when the essential contributions to the scattering amplitude arise from internucleon distances 1.5 fm. But the absorption of the high momentum * may produce a point like configuration, which evolves with time. In this case, the final state interactions probe the point like configuration at the early stage of its evolution. If the point like configuration is still small after propagating about 1.5 fm, the FSI are suppressed. The result is that significant color transparency effects, which can either enhance or suppress computed cross sections, are predicted to occur forQ 24GeV2. We suggest searching for color transparency phenomenon by examining ratios of experimentally measured quantities. Possible theoretical uncertainties of the calculations, including those due to the deuteron wave function and relativistic effects, are found to be small. This work was supported in part by the USA — Israel Binational Science Foundation Grant No. 9200126 and by the US Department of Energy under Contract Nos. The surface response for charge exchange (p, n) and (3He, T) reactions is studied in the-region using the semi-infinite slab model. The contribution to the total response from different decay channels, (NN, N, ), is calculated. These decay channels corresponds to the exclusive channels, (pp, p +, +), measured in recent (p, n) and (3He, T) experiments. The in-medium properties of the-resonance is taken into account by using microscopic calculations of the-width in nuclear matter. From the-width in nuclear matter a non-local imaginary-potential, as well as a local potential, is constructed for the semi-infinite slab model. The results in the semi-infinite slab model gives a qualitative understanding of the exclusive experiments. The exclusive (NN, N, ) channels are more sensitive, than the total response, tog-correlation parameters,-width and the absorption function used at the external vertex. Our calculations suggest low values of theg-correlation parametersg N andg , (0.3). The results with the-width represented as a non-local or a local-potential are very similar, with only minor differences in the exclusive channels.Supported in part by the Swedish Natural Science Research Council and by the Director, Office of Energy Research, Office of High Energy and Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Physics Division of the U.S. Department of Energy under Contract No. DE-ACO3-76SF00098  相似文献

A search for e and oscillations has been carried out with the CHARM II detector exposed to the CERN wide band neutrino beam. The data were collected over five years, alternating beams mainly composed of muon-neutrinos and muon-antineutrinos. The number of interactions of e and observed is comparable with the number of events expected from flux calculations. For large squared mass differences the upper limits obtained on the mixing angle aresin 22 < 9.4=" ·=">–3 for oscillating to e andsin 22 < 4.8=" ·=">–3 for to , at the 90% confidence level. Combining neutrino and antineutrino data the upper limit is 5.6 · 10–3.On leave of absence from ITEP (Moscow)  相似文献

In a re-analysis of nucleon form factors in perturbative quantum chromodynamics we examine the -dependence of the nucleon quark distribution amplitude by means of some model distribution amplitudes. We point out some problems that arise in the determination of the -evolution of the distribution amplitude. Our suggestions to cure these problems are discussed and resulting nucleon quark distribution amplitudes are presented. These give reasonable agreement with the available data for the form factors.Work is supported by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Ga 153-13-1) and partially by NATO (0581/87)  相似文献

Isotonic and isobaric dependencies of nuclear charge radii in the region between Z=54 and Z=70 are obtained from the analysis of isotope shift data r2 and muonic and electron scattering data on r2. They are compared with the predictions of the droplet model and the Hartree-Fock calculations. The isobaric dependencies of r2 have proven to be especially sensitive to the choice of an effective nucleon-nucleon interaction.  相似文献

Reliable calculations of nuclear matrix elements are a prerequisite for the determination of the effective neutrino mass and other particle physics parameters from neutrinoless double beta decay. Here, the operator expansion method is improved by including Coulomb, tensor and central interactions simultaneously. Furthermore, the formalism of the OEM is extended to those matrix elements necessary to extract the right-handed parameters and from 0 decay. OEM includes the dependence of the nuclear matrix elements on the intermediate states implicitly and can therefore be understood as a step beyond the closure approximation. Numerical studies are carried out for the isotope76Ge combining the OEM expressions with ground-state wave functions calculated within a proton-neutron quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (pn-QRPA) model. The influence and relative importance of central, tensor and Coulomb interactions is investigated. Within the OEM, contributions from the Coulomb force are found to be negligible in 0 decay, while the tensor force leads to a moderate change of the results, of the order of (10–30)%, giving a better agreement between sets of calculations which employ different NN-interactions. Generally, results of the OEM+QRPA calculation are similar to previous calculations of 0 decay matrix elements, indicating that 0 decay is not sensitive to model approximations and might therefore be more accurately calculated than the strongly suppressed 2 decay matrix elements.  相似文献

The level of sensitivity of the processes ZZ, W + W and to the Higgs sector of the Standard Model Lagrangian in the energy region between 200 GeV and 1 TeV is examined. The elementary Higgs boson is taken to have a mass less than 1 TeV. Sizeable effects are found in theZZ and channels if the incoming photons have the same helicity. Also the possibility that the elementary Higgs boson does not exist is examined. Assuming new physics to show up in the TeV energy region the cross sections are evaluated according to the heavy Higgs model. For center of mass energy values close to 1 TeV interesting effects are found in the channel if the photons have the same helicity. The limit of large Higgs mass is not unique. The parametrization of this arbitrariness may be interpreted as a representation of the new physics. The effects for the processes ZZ and are investigated. These effects may be correlated to a possible resonance inWW scattering in the TeV region.  相似文献

Giving an ultraviolet regularization and volume cut off we construct a nuclear Riemannian structure on the Hilbert manifold of gauge orbits. This permits us to define a regularized Laplace-Beltrami operator on and an associated global diffusion in governed by . This enables us to define, via a Feynman-Kac integral, a Euclidean, continuum regularized Yang-Mills process corresponding to a suitable regularization (of the kinetic term) of the classical Yang-Mills Lagrangian onT .On leave of absence from Zaragoza University (Spain)Laboratoire associé au CNRS  相似文献

The emission of hard real photons from a quark-gluon plasma at high temperatures is studied. At lowest order the QCD processes for quark-antiquark annihilation and for Compton scattering (qgq) lead to logarithmically divergent thermal production rates for massless quarks. By applying recently developed resummation methods of finite temperature perturbation theory we show that effects due to Landau damping on the exchanged quark provide finite rates. Comparisons with previous estimates and phenomenological implications are discussed.Supported in part by the Minister for Research and Technology (BMFT) of the Federal Republic of Germany under contract 06-BI-701  相似文献

It is shown that one can fit the available data on thea o(980),f o(1300) andK o * (1430) mesons as a distorted 0++ nonet using very few (5–6) parameters and an improved version of the unitarized quark model. This includes all light two-pseudoscalar thresholds, constraints from Adler zeroes, flavour symmetric couplings, unitarity and physically acceptable analyticity. The parameters include a bare or mass, an over-all coupling constant, a cutoff and a strange quark mass of 100 MeV, which is in accord with expectations from the quark model. It is found that in particular for thea 0(980) andf 0(980) the component, in the wave function is large, i.e., for a large fraction of the time the state is transformed into a virtual pair. This component, together with a similar component of for thea 0(980), and , and components for thef 0(980), causes the substantial shift to a lower mass than what is naively expected from the component alone. Mass, width and mixing parameters, including sheet and pole positions, of the four resonances are given, with a detailed pedagogical discussion of their meaning.  相似文献

In the framework of the heavy-quark effective theory, theO ( O(QCD)) corrections are estimated in the test of factorization hypothesis forB-meson nonleptonic decays proposed by Bjorken. Similar calculations are also carried out for b nonleptonic decays. The effects of these corrections on the estimate of theD s -meson decay constant are discussed.  相似文献
