The Wahlquist-Estabrook (WE) prolongation structures of modified Boussinesq (MB) system are studied from the coverings point of view. The realizations and classifications of one-dimensional coverings of this system are obtained completely. Moreover the sufficient and necessary conditions for a vector field to be a nonlocal symmetry of this system are also demonstrated in the WE prolongation structures.  相似文献

The properties of multilayer metal-fiber coverings superimposed on plane base layers, which consist of various combinations of a copper mesh and different-length copper wires, are examined. Coverings from discrete copper microwires, two-layer coverings including a mesh and microwires, and three-layer coverings consisting of a mesh and two layers of microwire are investigated. The contacts between the fibers, the copper mesh, and the base layer are analyzed by using the metallography technique. Quantitative estimates for these contacts are presented. The side effects connected with the hydrogen disease of copper are discussed. The thermal properties of the porous structures are analyzed with the use of a termographic chamber. It is shown that the porous metal-fiber structures have good mechanical and heat-transfer properties.  相似文献

Covering is a common form of data representation, and covering-based rough sets serve as an efficient technique to process this type of data. However, many important problems such as covering reduction in covering-based rough sets are NP-hard so that most algorithms to solve them are greedy. Matroids provide well-established platforms for greedy algorithm foundation and implementation. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate covering-based rough set with matroid. In this paper, we propose four matroidal structures of coverings and establish their relationships with rough sets. First, four different viewpoints are presented to construct these four matroidal structures of coverings, including 1-rank matroids, bigraphs, upper approximation numbers and transversals. The respective advantages of these four matroidal structures to rough sets are explored. Second, the connections among these four matroidal structures are studied. It is interesting to find that they coincide with each other. Third, a converse view is provided to induce a covering by a matroid. We study the relationship between this induction and the one from a covering to a matroid. Finally, some important concepts of covering-based rough sets, such as approximation operators, are equivalently formulated by these matroidal structures. These interesting results demonstrate the potential to combine covering-based rough sets with matroids.  相似文献

The exact enumeration of pure dimer coverings on the square lattice was obtained by Kasteleyn, Temperley and Fisher in 1961. In this paper, we consider the monomer–dimer covering problem (allowing multiple monomers) which is an outstanding unsolved problem in lattice statistics. We have developed the state matrix recursion method that allows us to compute the number of monomer–dimer coverings and to know the partition function with monomer and dimer activities. This method proceeds with a recurrence relation of so-called state matrices of large size. The enumeration problem of pure dimer coverings and dimer coverings with single boundary monomer is revisited in partition function forms. We also provide the number of dimer coverings with multiple vacant sites. The related Hosoya index and the asymptotic behavior of its growth rate are considered. Lastly, we apply this method to the enumeration study of domino tilings of Aztec diamonds and more generalized regions, so-called Aztec octagons and multi-deficient Aztec octagons.  相似文献

In this talk, we will present results about perfect weighted coverings of radius 1 in the Lee metric. Weighted coverings are a very natural generalization of many classes of codes. Perfect weighted coverings are well studied in the Hamming metric, but also in other contexts with different names, such as regular-sets, multiple coverings or [a, b]-dominating sets. In this talk, we present results of existence as well as of non-existence for perfect weighted coverings of radius one on the multidimensional grid graphs.  相似文献

For any torsion theory in a homological category, one can define a categorical Galois structure and try to describe the corresponding Galois coverings. In this article we provide several characterizations of these coverings for a special class of torsion theories, which we call quasi-hereditary. We describe a new reflective factorization system that is induced by any quasi-hereditary torsion theory. These results are then applied to study various examples of torsion theories in the category of topological groups.  相似文献

A packing (resp. covering) ? of a normed space X consisting of unit balls is called completely saturated (resp. completely reduced) if no finite set of its members can be replaced by a more numerous (resp. less numerous) set of unit balls of X without losing the packing property (resp. covering property) of ?. We show that a normed space X admits completely saturated packings with disjoint closed unit balls as well as completely reduced coverings with open unit balls, provided that there exists a tiling of X with unit balls. Completely reduced coverings by open balls are of interest in the context of an approximation theory for continuous real‐valued functions that rests on so‐called controllable coverings of compact metric spaces. The close relation between controllable coverings and completely reduced coverings allows an extension of the approximation theory to non‐compact spaces. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. In this paper, a class of distributions called the two-parameter weighted exponential distributions is introduced (TWE). This new class of distributions generalizes the ones-weighted exponential distributions (WE)-proposed by Gupta and Kundu (2009). The main properties of this new class of distributions are investigated. Several statistical properties and statistical inferences are then obtained and studied. Two real data sets of which one is a right censored data set were analyzed, and it is shown that in both two cases our model fits much better than WE or some other existing models.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to construct algebraic solutions exotic, i.e. corresponding to deformations of Fuchsian equation with Zariski dense monodromy. Specifically, we classify all the algebraic solutions (complete) exotic constructed by the method of pull-back of Doran-Kitaev: they are deduced from the data isomonodromic deformations pulling back a Fuchsian equation E given by a family of branched coverings ? t . We first introduce the structures and associated orbifoldes underlying Fuchsian equation. This allows us to have are fined version of the Riemann Hurwitz formula that allows us quickly to show that E must be hypergeometric. Then we come to limit the degree of ? and exponents, and finally to Painlevé VI. We explicitly construct one of these solutions.  相似文献

A connected covering is a design system in which the corresponding block graph is connected. The minimum size of such coverings are called connected coverings numbers. In this paper, we present various formulas and bounds for several parameter settings for these numbers. We also investigate results in connection with Turán systems. Finally, a new general upper bound, improving an earlier result, is given. The latter is used to improve upper bounds on a question concerning oriented matroid due to Las Vergnas.  相似文献

The class of branched coverings over $\mathbb{C}^2$ traditionally called exotic arouses interest because of its connection with the Jacobian conjecture. In this paper, we construct a series of examples of such coverings; in particular, methods of construction of coverings with arbitrarily many sheets, as well as with unknotted branch curves, are described. In addition, some topological characteristics of these coverings are computed, which allows us to answer some questions about a possible counterexample to the Jacobian conjecture.  相似文献

Recently, Hofmeister [3] has counted all nonisomorphic double coverings of a graph by using its ℤ2 cohomology groups. In this paper, we give an algebraic characterization of isomorphic finite-fold coverings of a graph from which we derive a formula to count all nonisomorphic coverings of a graph. In this paper, two open conjectures are disproved. One conjecture regards independent coverings of sparse partite graphs, whereas the other conjecture regards orthogonal colourings of tree graphs. A relation between independent coverings and orthogonal colourings is established. This relation is applied to find independent coverings of some sparse partite graphs. Additionally, a degree condition providing the existence of an independent covering in the case where the graph has a square number of vertices is found.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the covering theory of laura algebras. We prove that if a connected laura algebra is standard (that is, has a standard connecting component), then it has Galois coverings associated to the coverings of the connecting component. As a consequence, the first Hochschild cohomology group of a standard laura algebra vanishes if and only if it has no proper Galois coverings.  相似文献

In this paper, the prolongation structures of a generalized coupled Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation are investigated and two integrable coupled KdV equations associated with their Lax pairs are derived. The stepwise-supplement-of-a-covering (SSC) method is described and examined. The method is intended for the numerical construction of near optimal coverings of the multidimensional unit sphere by neighborhoods of a finite number of points (covering basis). Coverings of the unit sphere are used, for example, in nonadaptive polyhedral approximation of multidimensional convex compact bodies based on the evaluation of their support function for directions defined by points of the covering basis. The SSC method is used to iteratively construct a sequence of coverings, each differing from the previous one by a single new point included in the covering basis. Although such coverings are not optimal, it is theoretically shown that they are asymptotically suboptimal. By applying an experimental analysis, the asymptotic efficiency of the SSC method is estimated and the method is shown to be relatively efficient for a small number of points in the covering basis.  相似文献

In this paper, new examples of nonhomeomorphic knots and links which for certain r have homeomorphic r-sheeted cyclic branched coverings are constructed. In particular, it is proved that the two nonhomeomorphic knots with eleven crossings and with Alexander polynomial equal to one, have homeomorphic two-sheeted branched coverings, and that knots obtained from any knot by the Zeeman construction with p-fold and with q-fold twist have homeomorphic r-sheeted cyclic branched coverings ifp=±q(mod 2r). Our aim in this article is to produce new examples of semistable Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles on smooth projective surfaces X using the notion of parabolic vector bundles. In particular, we associate natural parabolic structures to any rank two (dual) Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundle and study the parabolic stability of these parabolic bundles. We also show that the orbifold bundles on Kawamata coverings of X corresponding to the above parabolic bundles are themselves certain (dual) Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles. This gives semistable Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles on Kawamata covers of the projective plane and of certain K3 surfaces.  相似文献
