A method for the determination of nine UV filter compounds [benzophenone-3 (BP-3), isoamyl methoxycinnamate, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, octocrylene (OC), butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, ethylhexyl dimethyl p-aminobenzoate (OD-PABA), ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (EHMC), ethylhexyl salicylate and homosalate] in water samples was developed and evaluated. The procedure includes non-porous membrane-assisted liquid–liquid extraction (MALLE) and LC–atmospheric pressure photoionisation (APPI)–MS/MS. Membrane bags made of different polymeric materials were examined to enable a fast and simple extraction of the target analytes. Among the polymeric materials tested, low- and high-density polyethylene membranes proved to be well suited to adsorb the analytes from water samples. Finally, 2 cm length tailor-made membrane bags were prepared from low-density polyethylene in order to accommodate 100 μL of propanol. The fully optimised protocol provides recoveries from 76% to 101% and limits of detection (LOD) between 0.4 ng L−1 (OD-PABA) and 16 ng L−1 (EHMC). The interday repeatability of the whole protocol was below 18%. The effective separation of matrix molecules was proved by only marginal matrix influence during the APPI-MS analysis since no ion suppression effects were observed. During the extraction step, the influence of the matrix was only significant when non-treated wastewater was analysed. The analysis of lake water indicated the presence of seven UV filter compounds included in this study at concentrations between 40 ng L−1 (BP-3) and 4381 ng L−1 (OC). In non-treated wastewater several UV filters were also detected at concentration levels as high as 5322 ng L−1 (OC).  相似文献

Alkyl esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid (parabens) are a family of compounds that have been in use since the 1920s as preservatives in cosmetic formulations, with one of the lowest rates of skin problems reported in dermatological patients. However, in the last few years, many scientific publications have demonstrated that parabens are weak endocrine disruptors, meaning that they can interfere with the function of endogenous hormones, increasing the risk of breast cancer. In the present work, a new sample treatment method is introduced based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction for the extraction of the most commonly used parabens (methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, and butylparaben) from human serum samples followed by separation and quantification using ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. The method involves an enzymatic treatment to quantify the total content of parabens. The extraction parameters (solvent and disperser solvent, extractant and dispersant volume, pH of the sample, salt addition, and extraction time) were accurately optimized using multivariate optimization strategies. Ethylparaben ring 13C6-labeled was used as surrogate. Limits of quantification ranging from 0.2 to 0.7 ng mL?1 and an interday variability (evaluated as relative standard deviations) from 3.8 to 11.9 % were obtained. The method was validated using matrix-matched calibration standard and a spike recovery assay. Recovery rates for spiked samples ranged from 96 to 106 %, and a good linearity up to concentrations of 100 ng mL?1 was obtained. The method was satisfactorily applied for the determination of target compounds in human serum samples.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method for the extraction of four phthalate esters including dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) and di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) as well as their determination in water samples was developed using homogeneous liquid–liquid extraction (HLLE) and HPLC-UV. The extraction method is based on the phase separation phenomenon by the salt addition to the ternary solvent system. The extraction parameters such as type and volume of extracting and consolute solvent, concentration of salt, pH of sample and extraction time were optimized. Under the optimal conditions (extraction solvent: 100?µL CHCl3; consolute solvent: 2.0?mL methanol; NaCl 15% (w/v) and pH of sample: 6.5) extraction recovery was in the range of 92–102%. Linearity was observed in the range of 0.5–300?µg?L?1 for DEP and 0.6–300?µg?L?1 for DMP, BBP and DBP. Correlation coefficients (r 2), limits of detection (LODs) and relative standard deviations (RSDs) were in the ranges of 0.9976–0.9993, 0.18–0.25 and 1.5–4.8%, respectively. The method was successfully applied for the preconcentration and determination of these phthalate esters in the several environmental water samples.  相似文献

A new simple and rapid dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction has been applied to preconcentrate trace levels of cobalt as a prior step to its determination by spectrophotometric detection. In this method a small amount of chloroform as the extraction solvent was dissolved in pure ethanol as the disperser solvent, then the binary solution was rapidly injected by a syringe into the water sample containing cobalt ions complexed by 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN). This forms a cloudy solution. The cloudy state was the result of chloroform fine droplets formation, which has been dispersed in bulk aqueous sample. Therefore, Co-PAN complex was extracted into the fine chloroform droplets. After centrifugation (2 min at 5000 rpm) these droplets were sedimented at the bottom of conical test tube (about 100 µL) and then the whole of complex enriched extracted phase was determined by a spectrophotometer at 577 nm. Complex formation and extraction are usually affected by some parameters, such as the types and volumes of extraction solvent and disperser solvent, salt effect, pH and the concentration of chelating agent, which have been optimised for the presented method. Under optimum conditions, the enhancement factor (as the ratio of slope of preconcentrated sample to that obtained without preconcentration) of 125 was obtained from 50 mL of water sample, and the limit of detection (LOD) of the method was 0.5 µg L?1and the relative standard deviation (RSD, n = 5) for 50 µg L?1 of cobalt was 2.5%. The method was applied to the determination of cobalt in tap and river water samples.  相似文献

A fast and novel sample preparation procedure for the determination of triclosan (TCS) and methyltriclosan (MTCS) in water samples is presented. Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, using a ternary mixture consisting of a disperser, an extractant and N-methyl-N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (MTBSTFA) as derivatization reagent, was used for the simultaneous derivatization, case of TCS, and concentration of both species in different water samples. Analytes were determined by gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (GC–MS/MS). Influence of different factors on the performance of the sample preparation process is thoroughly discussed. Under final working conditions, a mixture of 1 mL of methanol, 40 μL of 1,1,1-trichloroethane and the same volume of MTBSTFA was added to 10 mL of water in a conical bottom glass tube. After centrifugation, the settled phase was injected directly in the chromatographic system. TCS was quantitatively extracted and converted into the corresponding tert-butyldimethylsilyl derivative, whereas for MTCS an extraction yield around 90% was attained. Limits of quantification between 2 and 5 ng L−1 and reproducibility values below 10% were achieved; moreover, the performance of the extraction process was scarcely affected by the type of water sample. Globally, these values are comparable, or even better, to those reported for other approaches applied to the determination of same compounds, with the advantage of a shorter sample preparation step. Analysis of surface and wastewater samples confirmed the ubiquitous presence of TCS in the aquatic environment at levels from 20 to 700 ng L−1.  相似文献

The distribution of pyrethroid and phenylpyrazole pesticides in the water environment has raised public concerns because of their potential risks to ecosystem and human health. However, co-extraction of emulsifier type compounds (by liquid–liquid extraction, LLE) present in environmental samples can present a challenge for quantifying typically low concentrations of pesticides. Several methods were evaluated for breaking emulsions in problematic environmental surface water samples extracted by LLE using methylene chloride. Target pesticides included 11 typical pyrethroid and phenylpyrazole pesticides commonly used in agricultural and landscape insect pest control. The most effective method was selected for validation in fortification studies with GC-ECD analysis. The average recoveries of spiked pyrethroid and phenylpyrazole pesticides were 88.2–123.4% for water samples with moderate emulsions and 93.0–117.4% for water samples with severe emulsions. Recoveries of the pesticides ranged 81.0–126.4% (water samples with moderate emulsions) and 95.9–110.6% (water samples with severe emulsions) for lowest fortification level (5–20 ng L−1), 88.2–123.4% (water samples with moderate emulsions) and 93.0–117.4% (water samples with severe emulsions) for middle fortification level (10–40 ng L−1), and 90.2–119.9% (water samples with moderate emulsions) and 91.2–105.9% (water samples with severe emulsions) for highest fortification level (50–200 ng L−1). Relative standard deviations of pesticide recoveries were usually <10%. Results indicate that this method is a robust and reproducible option for LLE of pyrethroid and phenylpyrazole pesticides from emulsion-prone surface water samples.  相似文献

Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) has been developed for the extraction and preconcentration of diethofencarb (DF) and pyrimethanil (PM) in environmental water. In the method, a suitable mixture of extraction solvent (50 µL carbon tetrachloride) and dispersive solvent (0.75 mL acetonitrile) are injected into the aqueous samples (5.00 mL) and the cloudy solution is observed. After centrifugation, the enriched analytes in the sediment phase were determined by HPLC-VWD. Different influencing factors, such as the kind and volume of extraction and dispersive solvent, extraction time and salt effect were investigated. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factors for DF and PM were both 108 and the limit of detection were 0.021 ng mL?1 and 0.015 ng mL?1, respectively. The linear ranges were 0.08–400 ng mL?1 for DF and 0.04–200 ng mL?1 for PM. The relative standard deviation (RSDs) were both almost at 6.0% (n = 6). The relative recoveries from samples of environmental water were from the range of 87.0 to 107.2%. Compared with other methods, DLLME is a very simple, rapid, sensitive (low limit of detection) and economical (only 5 mL volume of sample) method.  相似文献

A procedure for the determination of three phosphoric acid diesters, eight triesters and triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) in water samples is presented. Analytes were simultaneously concentrated using a mixed-mode (reversed-phase and anionic-exchange) solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbent and then sequentially eluted with methanol (triesters and TPPO) followed by a 20 mM tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulphate (TBAHS) methanolic solution, case of diesters. After that, they were determined, in two different runs, by liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–ESI–MS/MS), operating the ESI source in the positive (triesters and TPPO) and negative (diesters) ionization modes. The efficiency of the extraction step varied between 70 and 105%, except in the case of tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP), and it was barely affected by the type of water sample. Moreover, low signal suppression effects were noticed in the ESI ionization of extracts obtained from different environmental water samples. As a result, the standard addition methodology was only required for the accurate quantification of tri-substituted organophosphorus (OPs) species in wastewater samples. Limits of quantification of the optimized method ranged from 0.2 to 10 ng L−1, depending on the sample matrix and the considered compound. The analysis of river and wastewater samples confirmed the occurrence of several tri- and di-substituted OPs in the aquatic environment, with the highest concentrations corresponding to tris(butoxyethyl) phosphate (TBEP) and tris(chloropropyl) phosphate (TCPP).  相似文献

A simple, rapid and efficient method, dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) in conjunction with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), has been developed for the determination of three carbamate pesticides (methomyl, carbofuran and carbaryl) in water samples. In this extraction process, a mixture of 35 µL chlorobenzene (extraction solvent) and 1.0 mL acetonitrile (disperser solvent) was rapidly injected into the 5.0 mL aqueous sample containing the analytes. After centrifuging (5 min at 4000 rpm), the fine droplets of chlorobenzene were sedimented in the bottom of the conical test tube. Sedimented phase (20 µL) was injected into the HPLC for analysis. Some important parameters, such as kind and volume of extraction and disperser solvent, extraction time and salt addition were investigated and optimised. Under the optimum extraction condition, the enrichment factors and extraction recoveries ranged from 148% to 189% and 74.2% to 94.4%, respectively. The methods yielded a linear range in the concentration from 1 to 1000 µg L?1 for carbofuran and carbaryl, 5 to 1000 µg L?1 for methomyl, and the limits of detection were 0.5, 0.9 and 0.1 µg L?1, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSD) for the extraction of 500 µg L?1 carbamate pesticides were in the range of 1.8–4.6% (n = 6). This method could be successfully applied for the determination of carbamate pesticides in tap water, river water and rain water.  相似文献

A new analytical temperature-assisted ionic liquid-based dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (TA-IL-DLLME) method was developed for glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid determination in water samples. Extracted analytes were derivatized using 9-fluoroenylmethylchloroformate and quantified by liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. For the TA-IL-DLLME method, two strategies for phase solubilization were evaluated; in approach 1, the ionic liquid and aqueous matrix sample were mixed and then heated, while in approach 2, the aqueous sample was first heated and then the ionic liquid was injected. For both approaches, optimization included parameters that significantly affect extraction efficiency: ionic liquid type and volume, solubilization temperature and time, cooling and centrifugation time. Among the evaluated ionic liquids, 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate showed the best performance for TA-IL-DLLME and was selected for the two solubilization approaches; with approach 2, slightly better results were obtained. Thus, sample analyses were performed using a procedure based on approach 2. An important matrix effect, attributed to the presence of salts and metals in real water samples was observed. Sample acidification before derivatization allowed this problem to diminish, with recoveries ranging from 75 and 99%, and enrichment factors between 57 and 76 for target analytes.  相似文献

A simple, highly sensitive and environment-friendly method, combined with flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS) is developed to preconcentrate and determine trace amounts of thallium in aqueous solutions. In the preconcentration step, the thallium (I) from 30?mL of an aqueous solution was extracted into 350?µL of ionic liquid, 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexa?uorophosphate [Hmim][PF6], containing dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 (DCH-18-crown-6) as complexing agent. Subsequently, the DCH-18-crown-6 complex was back-extracted into 300?µL of nitric acid (2?mol?L?1) solution, and analyzed by FAAS. Several parameters in?uencing the extraction and determination of thallium, such as pH, concentration of DCH-18-crown-6, sonication and centrifugation times, sample volume, ionic liquid amounts, ionic strength, and concentration of stripping acid solution, were optimized. Under optimum conditions, the calibration graph was linear in the range of 5 to 400?ng?mL?1, the detection limit was 0.64?ng?mL?1 (3Sb/m, n?=?7), the enhancement factor was 98.2 and the relative standard deviation was ±1.43%. The results for preconcentration and determination of trace amount of thallium in waste water, well water, tap water, sea water, human hair and nail demonstrated the accuracy, recovery and applicability of the presented method.  相似文献

A new simple and rapid vortex-assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method was applied for the determination of thorium in water samples. In this method, chloroform used as extraction solvent was directly injected into the water sample solution. The extraction solvent was dispersed into the aqueous phase under vigorously shaking with the vortex. After centrifuging, the fine droplets of extractant phase were settled to the bottom of the conical-bottom centrifuge tube. The effect of different experimental parameters on the performance of the method were studied and discussed. Under the optimum conditions, the detection limit for Th(IV) was 7.5 ng mL?1. The precision of the method, evaluated as the relative standard deviation obtained by analyzing of 10 replicates, was 2.8 %. The practical applicability of the developed method was examined using natural water and monazite sand samples.  相似文献

A new micro-extraction technique named low-density magnetofluid dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (LMF-DMMLE) has been developed, which permits a wider range of solvents and can be combined with various detection methods. Comparing with the existing low density solvents micro-extraction methods, no special devices and complicated operations were required during the whole extraction process. Dispersion of the low-density magnetofluid into the aqueous sample is achieved by using vortex mixing, so disperser solvent was unnecessary. The extraction solvent was collected conveniently with an external magnetic field placed outside the extraction container after dispersing. Then, the magnetic nanoparticles were easily removed by adding precipitation reagent under the magnetic field. In order to evaluate the validity of this method, ten organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were chosen as the analytes. Parameters influencing the extraction efficiency such as extraction solvents, volume of extraction solvents, extraction time, and ionic strength were investigated and optimized. Under the optimized conditions, this method showed high extraction efficiency with low limits of detection of 1.8–8.4 ng L−1, good linearity in the range of 0.05–10.00 μg L−1 and the precisions were in the range of 1.3–9.6% (RSD, n = 5). Finally, this method was successfully applied in the determination of OCPs in real water samples.  相似文献

An in-syringe demulsified dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (ISD–DLLME) technique was developed using low-density extraction solvents for the highly sensitive determination of the three trace fungicides (azoxystrobin, diethofencarb and pyrimethanil) in water samples by high performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry chromatography–diode array detector/electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry. In the proposed technique, a 5-mL syringe was used as an extraction, separation and preconcentration container. The emulsion was obtained after the mixture of toluene (extraction solvent) and methanol (dispersive solvent) was injected into the aqueous bulk of the syringe. The obtained emulsion cleared into two phases without centrifugation, when an aliquot of methanol was introduced as a demulsifier. The separated floating organic extraction solvent was impelled and collected into a pipette tip fitted to the tip of the syringe. Under the optimal conditions, the enrichment factors for azoxystrobin, diethofencarb and pyrimethanil were 239, 200, 195, respectively. The limits of detection, calculated as three times the signal-to-noise ratio (S N−1), were 0.026 μg L−1 for azoxystrobin, 0.071 μg L−1 for diethofencarb and 0.040 μg L−1 for pyrimethanil. The repeatability study was carried out by extracting the spiked water samples at concentration levels of 0.02 μg mL−1 for all the three fungicides. The relative standard deviations varied between 4.9 and 8.2% (n = 5). The recoveries of all the three fungicides from tap, lake and rain water samples at spiking levels of 0.2, 1, 5 μg L−1 were in the range of 90.0–105.0%, 86.0–114.0% and 88.6–110.0%, respectively. The proposed ISD–DLLME technique was demonstrated to be simple, practical and efficient for the determination of different kinds of fungicide residues in real water samples.  相似文献

A new method for the determination of four sulfonylurea herbicides (metsulfuron-methyl, chlorsulfuron, bensulfuron-methyl and chlorimuron-ethyl) in water samples was developed by dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction coupled with high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector. Parameters that affect the extraction efficiency, such as the kind and volume of the extraction and disperser solvent, extraction time and salt addition, were investigated and optimised. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factors were in the range between 102 and 216. The linearity of the method was obtained in the range of 1.0–100 ng mL?1 with the correlation coefficients (r) ranging from 0.9982 to 0.9995. The method detection limits were 0.2–0.3 ng mL?1. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of target sulfonylurea herbicides in river, stream and well water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A novel and environmentally friendly microextraction method, termed ionic liquid dispersive liquid-phase microextraction (IL-DLPME), has been developed for rapid enrichment of triclosan and triclocarban before analysis by high-performance liquid phase chromatography–electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–ESI-MS–MS). Instead of using toxic organic solvents, an ionic liquid was used as a green extraction solvent. This also avoided the instability of the suspending drop in single-drop liquid-phase microextraction, and the heating and cooling step in temperature-controlled ionic liquid dispersive liquid phase microextraction. Factors that may affect the enrichment efficiency, for example volume of ionic liquid, type and volume of dispersive solvent, pH, extraction time, and NaCl content were investigated in detail and optimized. Under optimum conditions, linearity of the method was observed over the range 0.2–12 μg L−1 for triclocarban and 1–60 μg L−1 for triclosan with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9980 to 0.9990, respectively. The sensitivity of the proposed method was found to be excellent, with limits of detection in the range 0.040–0.58 μg L−1 and precision in the range 7.0–8.8% (RSD, n = 5). This method has been successfully used to analyze real environmental water samples and satisfactory results were achieved. Average recoveries of spiked compounds were in the range 70.0–103.5%. All these results indicated that the developed method would be a green method for rapid determination of triclosan and triclocarban at trace levels in environmental water samples.  相似文献

A simple and fast method of low-density extraction solvent-based solvent terminated dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (ST-DLLME) was developed for the highly sensitive determination of carbamate pesticides in the water samples by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MSMS). After dispersing, the obtained emulsion cleared into two phases quickly when an aliquot of acetonitrile was introduced as a chemical demulsifier into the aqueous bulk. Therefore, the developed procedure does not need centrifugation to achieve phase separation. It was convenient for the usage of low-density extraction solvents in DLLME. Under the optimized conditions, the limits of detection for all target carbamate pesticides were in range of 0.001–0.50 ng mL−1 and the precisions were in the range of 2.3–6.8% (RSDs, 2 ng mL−1, n = 5). The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of real water samples and good spiked recoveries over the range of 94.5–104% were obtained.  相似文献
