Different types of nonredundant sampling patterns are shown to guarantee completeness of the basis formed by the sampled partial derivatives of Zernike polynomials, commonly used to reconstruct the wavefront from its slopes (wavefront sensing). In the ideal noise-free case, this enables one to recover double the number of modes J than sampling points I (critical sampling J=2I). The problematic of wavefront sensing in Multiconjugate Adaptive Optics (MCAO) is addressed in this article. We first focus on the sky coverage estimation which drives, in particular, the choice between natural and laser guide stars and therefore has a major impact on wavefront sensor design. Then a comparison between star oriented and layer oriented concepts is proposed. Analytical developments and optimization of the concepts are derived in the simplest MCAO case: the ground layer AO system. From this study, advantages and drawbacks of each concept are highlighted. A light beam with an ideal wavefront that is transmitted or reflected from an object is modified by different characteristics of the object such as shape, refractive index, density, or temperature. Wavefront sensing therefore yields valuable information about the system or the changes happening to the system. A new method for wavefront sensing using a random amplitude mask and a phase retrieval method based on the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld wave propagation equation is described. The proposed method has many potential applications ranging from phase contrast imaging and measurement of lens aberration to shape measurement of three-dimensional objects.  相似文献

We describe a self-referencing method of wavefront sensing based on rotated lateral shearing interferometry which is able to measure the local slope of a wavefront. We describe the principle of operation, suggest a number of practical implementations, and present experimental results. We found the difference between two sequential measurements of a nominally flat wavefront to be better than λ/250 root mean square.  相似文献

We have realized a novel atom trap in an axicon (conical hollow) mirror, using a frequency-modulated, single-diode laser. Different spatial distributions of trapped atoms such as a ball and a ring are observed. We show that our numerical simulations are consistent with experimental results. In particular, the ring diameter is found to be approximately the separation between the mirror axis and the magnetic field axis. The axicon trap may be useful as a precooled atom source for cold atomic beams, atom funnels, and atom waveguides.  相似文献

We analyzed the spatial spectrum of the diffraction intensity pattern of an ideal Bessel beam and found an implicit rule that the number of the bright rings in the spatial spectrum is equal to the topological charge of the Bessel beam. The radius of the bright and dark rings has some relation with the topological charge and can be determined accurately. It provides us with a new way for measuring the topological charge of an optical vortex through its diffraction intensity pattern after an axicon. The results of simulation coincide with the theory.  相似文献

从半径渐变波导的耦合波方程出发,利用龙格-库塔法进行优化数值迭代,得到在3 mm波段,TE03-TE02, TE02-TE01高效率模式变换器的设计参数。通过优化程序,设计出了6周期TE03-TE02和3周期TE02-TE01模式变换器优化尺寸。利用CST微波工作室电磁仿真软件对结构尺寸进行优化仿真,仿真结果与优化程序计算结果基本一致。以此数据设计中心频率94 GHz的TE03-TE02,TE02-TE01模式变换器功率转换效率可以达到98.5%以上,90%功率转换的绝对带宽分别达到3.5和7.0 GHz以上,优于设计要求。  相似文献

从较直观的概念出发,设计基于轴棱锥带平面耦合输出镜的贝塞尔-高斯谐振腔。应用Fox-Li数值迭代法对谐振腔横向光场模式进行较严格的分析,同时采用数值积分的方法,由输出镜面上光场采样点的数值直接模拟腔外输出光场分布情况。数值模拟结果与理论结果比较表明,该谐振腔的主模式与零阶贝塞尔-高斯光特征相似。针对实际中腔长可能并不严格地与最初设计腔长一致,讨论了腔长变化对谐振腔主模式分布的影响,发现当腔长变化较小时,谐振腔的横向模式特征基本保持不变。利用Nd:YAG激光器设计贝塞尔-高斯谐振腔进行实验,光束分析仪记录的输出光强横向分布与理论预期基本一致。  相似文献

Fresnel axicon

A new optical element, a Fresnel axicon (fraxicon), is proposed. Similar to a Fresnel lens, this element consists of concentric prism-like grooves with an apex angle equal to that of a bulk axicon and whose action relies on refraction. The fraxicon is less chromatic and simpler to manufacture than holographic optical element-based diffractive axicons and, in comparison with regular refractive axicons, is more compact with less absorption loss in the material while allowing significant economy in mass production.  相似文献

A novel wavefront sensing method based on phase contrast theory and coherent optical processing is proposed. The wavefront gradient field in the object plane is modulated into intensity distribution in a gang of patterns, making highdensity detection available. By applying the method, we have also designed a wavefront sensor. It consists of a classical coherent optical processing system, a CCD detector array, two pieces of orthogonal composite sinusoidal gratings, and a mechanical structure that can perform real-time linear positioning. The simulation results prove and demonstrate the validity of the method and the sensor in high-precision measurement of the wavefront gradient field.  相似文献

We propose a new algorithm for wavefront sensing based on binary intensity modulation. The algorithm is based on the fact that a wavefront can be expended with a series of orthogonal and binary functions, the Walsh series. We use a spatial light modulator(SLM) to produce different binary-intensity-modulation patterns which are the simple linear transformation of the Walsh series. The optical fields under different binary-intensity-modulation patterns are detected with a photodiode.The relationships between the incident wavefront modulated with the patterns and their optical fields are built to determinate the coefficients of the Walsh series. More detailed and strict relationship equations are established with the algorithm by adding new modulation patterns according to the properties of the Walsh functions. An exact value can be acquired by solving the equations. Finally, with the help of phase unwrapping and smoothing, the wavefront can be reconstructed. The advantage of the algorithm is providing an analytical solution for the coefficients of the Walsh series to reconstruct the wavefront. The simulation experiments are presented and the effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated.  相似文献

In optical coherence tomography, axial and lateral resolutions are determined by the source coherence length and the numerical aperture of the sampling lens, respectively. Whereas axial resolution can be improved by use of a broadband light source, there is a trade-off between lateral resolution and focusing depth when conventional optical elements are used. We report on the incorporation of an axicon lens into the sample arm of an interferometer to overcome this limitation. Using an axicon lens with a top angle of 160 degrees , we maintained 10-microm or better lateral resolution over a focusing depth of at least 6 mm. In addition to having high lateral resolution, the focusing spot has an intensity that is approximately constant over a greater depth range than when a conventional lens is used.  相似文献

Micro-ablation of crystalline silicon was performed by irradiating a silicon substrate with femtosecond laser pulses of wavelengths 786 nm or 393 nm focused using a conical axicon assisted with a convex lens. Focusing the laser beam close to the tip of the axicon by means of the lens significantly improved the efficiency of concentration of laser pulse energy at the central spot of the resulting Bessel-Gaussian intensity distribution. As a result, micron-sized holes were formed with the diameter determined by the ablation threshold in the calculated fluence profile. It is possible to predict hole size from the laser pulse energy and the wavelength. Crystalline particles, a few tens of nanometers in size, were formed near the ablated zone.  相似文献

A high power cw CO2 laser beam is generated from a resonator configuration having an axicon mirror as its end reflector. The properties of this beam are evaluated in terms of its polarization, focusing capability and temporal stability and the resulting effects on processing materials are presented. 为了使大景深光学镜头在工业视觉检测中的测量结果更准确,必须对中间图像进行复原,点扩散函数是图像复原的关键。根据轴锥镜最大无衍射距离公式设计了无衍射成像系统,以标量衍射理论为基础,在频域范围内利用稳定相法推导出系统的点扩散函数公式。利用准单色光理论,分析非相干光照明下的点扩散函数与锥镜夹角和离焦量的关系。仿真和实验结果表明:轴锥镜夹角越大,点扩散函数中心光强越强,衍射条纹越密;离焦像差对点扩散函数的影响与之相反。  相似文献

A scheme based on a W-shaped axicon mirror device for total-internal-reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRFM) is presented. This approach combines the advantages of higher efficiency compared with traditional TIRFM, adjustable illumination area, and simple switching between wide-field and TIRF imaging modes. TIRF images obtained with this approach are free of shadow artifacts and of interference fringes. Example micrographs of fluorescently labeled polystyrene beads, of Convallaria majalis tissue, and of Propidium-iodide-labeled Chinese hamster ovary cells are shown, and the capabilities of the scheme are discussed.  相似文献

We propose an optical element: a phase-shifted Fresnel axicon for generation of multiple Bessel beams. By giving a binary phase modulation to the standard Fresnel axicon, the proposed element is generated. The phase profile of the binary phase modulation is engineered to generate two and three Bessel beams of equal intensities. This composite optical element is fabricated using electron beam direct writing. The performance of the fabricated device is evaluated using a semiconductor laser, and the generation of two and three Bessel beams is successfully demonstrated.  相似文献
