We introduce an irrational factor of order k defined by \({I_{k}(n) ={\prod_{i=1}^{l}} p_{i}^{\beta_{i}}}\) , where \({n = \prod_{i=1}^{l} p_{i}^{\alpha_{i}}}\) is the factorization of n and \({\beta_{i} = \left\{\begin{array}{ll}\alpha_i, \quad \quad {\rm if} \quad \alpha_i < k \\ \frac{1}{\alpha_i},\quad \quad {\rm if} \quad \alpha_i \geqq k \end{array}\right.}\) . It turns out that the function \({\frac{I_{k} (n)}{n}}\) well approximates the characteristic function of k-free integers. We also derive asymptotic formulas for \({\prod_{v=1}^{n} I_{k}(v)^{\frac{1}{n}}, \sum_{n \leqq x} I_{k}(n)}\) and \({\sum_{n \leqq x} (1 - \frac{n}{x}) I_{k}(n)}\) .  相似文献

We prove the spectral instability of the complex cubic oscillator \({-\frac{{\rm d}^{2}}{{\rm d}x^{2}} + ix^{3} + i \alpha x}\) for non-negative values of the parameter α, by getting the exponential growth rate of \({\|\Pi_{n}(\alpha)\|}\) , where \({\Pi_{n}(\alpha)}\) is the spectral projection associated with the nth eigenvalue of the operator. More precisely, we show that for all non-negative α $$\lim\limits_{n \to + \infty} \frac{1}{n} {\rm log}\|\Pi_{n}(\alpha)\| = \frac{\pi}{\sqrt{3}}$$ .  相似文献

Let {X n : n ?? 1} be a strictly stationary sequence of positively associated random variables with mean zero and finite variance. Set $S_n = \sum\limits_{k = 1}^n {X_k }$ , $Mn = \mathop {\max }\limits_{k \leqslant n} \left| {S_k } \right|$ , n ?? 1. We consider the randomly weighted sums $ \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{\theta_k}{X_k},n \geqslant 1} $ , where $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are n real-valued random variables with subexponential distributions, and $ \left\{ {{\theta_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are other n random variables independent of $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ and satisfying $ a \leqslant \theta \leqslant b $ for some $ 0 < a \leqslant b < \infty $ and all $ 1 \leqslant k \leqslant n $ . For $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ satisfying some dependent structures, we prove that $$ {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant m \leqslant n} \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} {\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)\sim \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\text{P}}\left( {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)} $$ as x??????.  相似文献

Let ${{\mathbb H}_n, n \geq 1}$ , be the near 2n-gon defined on the 1-factors of the complete graph on 2n?+?2 vertices, and let e denote the absolutely universal embedding of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ into PG(W), where W is a ${\frac{1}{n+2} \left(\begin{array}{c}2n+2 \\ n+1\end{array}\right)}$ -dimensional vector space over the field ${{\mathbb F}_2}$ with two elements. For every point z of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ and every ${i \in {\mathbb N}}$ , let Δ i (z) denote the set of points of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ at distance i from z. We show that for every pair {x, y} of mutually opposite points of ${{\mathbb H}_n, W}$ can be written as a direct sum ${W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n}$ such that the following four properties hold for every ${i \in \{0,\ldots,n \}}$ : (1) ${\langle e(\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)) \rangle = {\rm PG}(W_i)}$ ; (2) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(x) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_i)}$ ; (3) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(y) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_{n-i}\oplus W_{n-i+1} \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n)}$ ; (4) ${\dim(W_i) = |\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)| = \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i\end{array}\right)^2 - \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i-1\end{array}\right) \cdot \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i+1\end{array}\right)}$ .  相似文献

We investigate the geometry of π 1-injective surfaces in closed hyperbolic 3-manifolds. First we prove that for any ${\epsilon > 0}$ , if the manifold M has sufficiently large systole sys1(M), the genus of any such surface in M is bounded below by ${{\rm exp}((\frac{1}{2} - \epsilon){\rm sys}_1(M))}$ . Using this result we show, in particular, that for congruence covers M i M of a compact arithmetic hyperbolic 3-manifold we have: (a) the minimal genus of π 1-injective surfaces satisfies ${{\rm log} \, {\rm sysg}(M_i) \gtrsim \frac{1}{3} {\rm log} \, {\rm vol}(M_i) ; (b)}$ there exist such sequences with the ratio Heegard ${{\rm genus}(M_i)/{\rm sysg}(M_i) \gtrsim {\rm vol}(M_i)^{1/2}}$ ; and (c) under some additional assumptions π 1(M i ) is k-free with ${{\rm log} \, k \gtrsim \frac{1}{3}{\rm sys}_1(M_i)}$ . The latter resolves a special case of a conjecture of Gromov.  相似文献

We show that if ${{\mathcal A} \subset \mathbb{R}^N}$ is an annulus or a ball centered at zero, the homogeneous Neumann problem on ${{\mathcal A}}$ for the equation with continuous data $$\nabla \cdot \left(\frac{\nabla v}{\sqrt{1 - |\nabla v|^2}} \right) = g(|x|,v) + h(|x|)$$ has at least one radial solution when g(|x|,·) has a periodic indefinite integral and ${\int_{\mathcal A} h(|x|)\,{\rm{d}}x = 0.}$ The proof is based upon the direct method of the calculus of variations, variational inequalities and degree theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish two families of approximations for the gamma function: $$ \begin{array}{lll} {\varGamma}(x+1)&=\sqrt{2\pi x}{\left({\frac{x+a}{{\mathrm{e}}}}\right)}^x {\left({\frac{x+a}{x-a}}\right)}^{-\frac{x}{2}+\frac{1}{4}} {\left({\frac{x+b}{x-b}}\right)}^{\sum\limits_{k=0}^m\frac{{\beta}_k}{x^{2k}}+O{{\left(\frac{1}{x^{2m+2}}\right)}}},\\ {\varGamma}(x+1)&=\sqrt{2\pi x}\cdot(x+a)^{\frac{x}{2}+\frac{1}{4}}(x-a)^{\frac{x}{2}-\frac{1}{4}} {\left({\frac{x-1}{x+1}}\right)}^{\frac{x^2}{2}}\\ &\quad\times {\left({\frac{x-c}{x+c}}\right)}^{\sum\limits_{k=0}^m\frac{{\gamma}_k}{x^{2k}}+O{\left({\frac{1}{x^{2m+2}}}\right)}}, \end{array}$$ where the constants ${\beta }_k$ and ${\gamma }_k$ can be determined by recurrences, and $a$ , $b$ , $c$ are parameters. Numerical comparison shows that our results are more accurate than Stieltjes, Luschny and Nemes’ formulae, which, to our knowledge, are better than other approximations in the literature.  相似文献

Let V be a convex subset of a normed space and let a nondecreasing function α : [0, ∞) → [0, ∞) be given. A function ${f : V \rightarrow \mathbb{R}}$ is called α-midconvex if $$f\left(\frac{x+y}{2} \right)\leq \frac{f(x)+f(y)}{2}+\alpha(\|x-y\|) \quad \,{\rm for}\, x,y\in V.$$ It is known (Tabor in Control Cybern., 38/3:656–669, 2009) that if ${f : V \rightarrow \mathbb{R}}$ is α-midconvex, locally bounded above at every point of V then $$f(tx+(1-t)y)\leq tf(x)+(1-t)f(y)+P_\alpha(\|x-y\|) \quad \,{\rm for}\, x, y \in V,t \in [0,1],$$ where ${P_\alpha(r):=\sum_{k=0}^\infty \frac{1}{2^k} \alpha(2{\rm dist}(2^kr, \mathbb{Z}))}$ for ${r \in \mathbb{R}}$ . We show that under some additional assumptions the above estimation cannot be improved.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove an Osgood type regularity criterion for the model of liquid crystals, which says that the condition $$\sup_{2 \leq q< \infty} \int \nolimits_0^T \frac{\| \bar{S}_{q} \nabla {\bf u}(t)\|_{L^\infty}}{q \, {\rm \ln} \, q} {\rm d} t<\infty$$ implies the smoothness of the solution. Here, ${{\bar S_q=\sum\nolimits_{k=-q}^q \dot {\triangle}_k}}$ with ${\dot{\triangle}_k}$ being the frequency localization operator.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the quantitative recurrence and hitting sets of β-transformation T β on the unit disk I of formal Laurent series field $$E_\phi:= \{x\in I: \|T_\beta^nx - x\| < \|\beta\|^{-\phi(n)}\,\,\,{\rm infinitely\,often}\}$$ and $$F_\phi:=\{x\in I: \|T_\beta^nx-x_0\|<\|\beta\|^{-\phi(n)}\,\,\,{\rm infinitely\,often}\},$$ where x 0 is any fixed point in I and ${\phi}$ is any positive function defined on ${\mathbb{N}}$ with ${\phi(n)\to\infty}$ as n → ∞. We completely determine the Hausdorff dimensions of these sets: $$\dim_{\rm H} E_{\phi}=\dim_{\rm H}F_\phi=\frac{1}{1+\liminf\limits_{n\to\infty}\frac{\phi (n)}{n}}.$$   相似文献

We present various inequalities for the harmonic numbers defined by ${H_n=1+1/2 +\ldots +1/n\,(n\in{\bf N})}$ . One of our results states that we have for all integers n ???2: $$\alpha \, \frac{\log(\log{n}+\gamma)}{n^2} \leq H_n^{1/n} -H_{n+1}^{1/(n+1)} < \beta \, \frac{\log(\log{n}+\gamma)}{n^2}$$ with the best possible constant factors $$\alpha= \frac{6 \sqrt{6}-2 \sqrt[3]{396}}{3 \log(\log{2}+\gamma)}=0.0140\ldots \quad\mbox{and} \quad\beta=1.$$ Here, ?? denotes Euler??s constant.  相似文献

Let G be a commutative group, written additively, with a neutral element 0, and let K be a finite group. Suppose that K acts on G via group automorphisms ${G \ni a \mapsto ka \in G}$ , ${k \in K}$ . Let ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ be a complex Hilbert space and let ${{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ . A mapping ${u \colon G \to {\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ is termed a K-spherical function if it satisfies (1) ${|K|^{-1} \sum_{k\in K} u (a+kb)=u (a) u (b)}$ for any ${a,b\in G}$ , where |K| denotes the cardinality of K, and (2) ${u (0) = {\rm id}_{\mathfrak {H}},}$ where ${{\rm id}_{\mathfrak {H}}}$ designates the identity operator on ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ . The main result of the paper is that for each K-spherical function ${u \colon G \to {\mathcal {L}}({\mathfrak {H}})}$ such that ${\| u \|_{\infty} = \sup_{a\in G} \| u (a)\|_{{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})} < \infty,}$ there is an invertible operator S in ${{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ with ${\| S \| \, \| S^{-1}\| \leq |K| \, \| u \|_{\infty}^2}$ such that the K-spherical function ${{\tilde{u}} \colon G \to {\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ defined by ${{\tilde{u}}(a) = S u (a) S^{-1},\,a \in G,}$ satisfies ${{\tilde{u}}(-a) = {\tilde{u}}(a)^*}$ for each ${a \in G}$ . It is shown that this last condition is equivalent to insisting that ${{\tilde{u}}(a)}$ be normal for each ${a \in G}$ .  相似文献

In a previous paper, we showed that for regular Reuleaux polygons R n the equality ${{\rm as}_\infty(R_n) = 1/(2\cos \frac\pi{2n} -1)}$ holds, where ${{\rm as}_\infty(\cdot)}$ denotes the Minkowski measure of asymmetry for convex bodies, and ${{\rm as}_\infty(K)\leq \frac 12(\sqrt{3}+1)}$ for all convex domains K of constant width, with equality holds iff K is a Reuleaux triangle. In this paper, we investigate the Minkowski measures of asymmetry among all Reuleaux polygons of order n and show that regular Reuleaux polygons of order n (n ?? 3 and odd) have the minimal Minkowski measure of asymmetry.  相似文献

For ${N = 1, 2,\ldots,}$ let S N be a simple random sample of size n = n N from a population A N of size N, where ${0 \leq n \leq N}$ . Then with f N n/N, the sampling fraction, and 1 A the inclusion indicator that ${A \in S_N}$ , for any ${H \subset A_N}$ of size ${k \geq 0}$ , the high order correlations $${\rm Corr}(k) = E \big(\mathop{\Pi}\limits_{A \in H} ({\bf 1}_A - f_N )\big)$$ depend only on k, and if the sampling fraction ${f_N \rightarrow f}$ as ${N \rightarrow \infty}$ , then $$N^{k/2}{\rm Corr}(k) \rightarrow [f (f - 1)]^{k/2}EZ^{k}, k \,{\rm even}$$ and $$N^{(k+1)/2}{\rm Corr}(k) \rightarrow [f (f - 1)]^{(k-1)/2}(2f - 1)\frac{1}{3}(k - 1)EZ^{k+1}, k \,{\rm odd}$$ where Z is a standard normal random variable. This proves a conjecture given in [2].  相似文献

This note is a study of approximation of classes of functions and asymptotic simultaneous approximation of functions by theM n -operators of Meyer-König and Zeller which are defined by $$(M_n f)(x) = (1 - x)^{n + 1} \sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {f\left( {\frac{k}{{n + k}}} \right)} \left( \begin{array}{l} n + k \\ k \\ \end{array} \right)x^k , n = 1,2,....$$ Among other results it is proved that for 0<α≤1 $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{\alpha /2} \mathop {\sup }\limits_{f \in Lip_1 \alpha } \left| {(M_n f)(x) - f(x)} \right| = \frac{{\Gamma \left( {\frac{{\alpha + 1}}{2}} \right)}}{{\pi ^{1/2} }}\left\{ {2x(1 - x)^2 } \right\}^{\alpha /2} $$ and if for a functionf, the derivativeD m+2 f exist at a pointx∈(0, 1), then $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } 2n[D^m (M_n f) - D^m f] = \Omega f,$$ where Ω is the linear differential operator given by $$\Omega = x(1 - x)^2 D^{m + 2} + m(3x - 1)(x - 1)D^{m + 1} + m(m - 1)(3x - 2)D^m + m(m - 1)(m - 2)D^{m - 1} .$$   相似文献

Let fC[?1, 1]. Let the approximation rate of Lagrange interpolation polynomial of f based on the nodes $ \left\{ {\cos \frac{{2k - 1}} {{2n}}\pi } \right\} \cup \{ - 1,1\} $ be Δ n + 2(f, x). In this paper we study the estimate of Δ n + 2(f,x), that keeps the interpolation property. As a result we prove that $$ \Delta _{n + 2} (f,x) = \mathcal{O}(1)\left\{ {\omega \left( {f,\frac{{\sqrt {1 - x^2 } }} {n}} \right)\left| {T_n (x)} \right|\ln (n + 1) + \omega \left( {f,\frac{{\sqrt {1 - x^2 } }} {n}\left| {T_n (x)} \right|} \right)} \right\}, $$ where T n (x) = cos (n arccos x) is the Chebeyshev polynomial of first kind. Also, if fC r [?1, 1] with r ≧ 1, then $$ \Delta _{n + 2} (f,x) = \mathcal{O}(1)\left\{ {\frac{{\sqrt {1 - x^2 } }} {{n^r }}\left| {T_n (x)} \right|\omega \left( {f^{(r)} ,\frac{{\sqrt {1 - x^2 } }} {n}} \right)\left( {\left( {\sqrt {1 - x^2 } + \frac{1} {n}} \right)^{r - 1} \ln (n + 1) + 1} \right)} \right\}. $$   相似文献

In this paper, we will prove the existence of infinitely many solutions for the following elliptic problem with critical Sobolev growth and a Hardy potential: $$-\Delta u-\frac{\mu}{|x|^2}u = |u|^{2^{\ast}-2}u+a u\quad {\rm in}\;\Omega,\quad u=0 \quad {\rm on}\; \partial\Omega,\qquad (*)$$ under the assumptions that N ≥ 7, ${\mu\in \left[0,\frac{(N-2)^2}4-4\right)}$ and a > 0, where ${2^{\ast}=\frac{2N}{N-2}}$ , and Ω is an open bounded domain in ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ which contains the origin. To achieve this goal, we consider the following perturbed problem of (*), which is of subcritical growth, $$-\Delta u-\frac{\mu}{|x|^2}u = |u|^{2^{\ast}-2-\varepsilon_n}u+au \quad {\rm in}\,\Omega, \quad u=0 \quad {\rm on}\;\partial\Omega,\qquad(\ast\ast)_n$$ where ${\varepsilon_{n} > 0}$ is small and ${\varepsilon_n \to 0}$ as n → + ∞. By the critical point theory for the even functionals, for each fixed ${\varepsilon_{n} > 0}$ small, (**) n has a sequence of solutions ${u_{k,\varepsilon_{n}} \in H^{1}_{0}(\Omega)}$ . We obtain the existence of infinitely many solutions for (*) by showing that as n → ∞, ${u_{k,\varepsilon_{n}}}$ converges strongly in ${H^{1}_{0}(\Omega)}$ to u k , which must be a solution of (*). Such a convergence is obtained by applying a local Pohozaev identity to exclude the possibility of the concentration of ${\{u_{k,\varepsilon_n}\}}$ .  相似文献

We prove that if m and \({\nu}\) are integers with \({0 \leq \nu \leq m}\) and x is a real number, then
  1. $$\sum_{k=0 \atop k+m \, \, odd}^{m-1} {m \choose k}{k+m \choose \nu} B_{k+m-\nu}(x) = \frac{1}{2} \sum_{j=0}^m (-1)^{j+m} {m \choose j}{j+m-1 \choose \nu} (j+m) x^{j+m-\nu-1},$$ where B n (x) denotes the Bernoulli polynomial of degree n. An application of (1) leads to new identities for Bernoulli numbers B n . Among others, we obtain
  2. $$\sum_{k=0 \atop k+m \, \, odd}^{m -1} {m \choose k}{k+m \choose \nu} {k+m-\nu \choose j}B_{k+m-\nu-j} =0 \quad{(0 \leq j \leq m-2-\nu)}. $$ This formula extends two results obtained by Kaneko and Chen-Sun, who proved (2) for the special cases j = 1, \({\nu=0}\) and j = 3, \({\nu=0}\) , respectively.

We consider the supercritical problem $$\begin{array}{l}{-}\Delta u=\left\vert u\right\vert ^{p-2}u \; {\rm in} \; \Omega,\quad u=0 \; {\rm on} \; \partial \Omega, \end{array}$$ where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in ${\mathbb{R}^{N}}$ , N ≥ 3, and ${p\geq2^{\ast}:=\frac{2N}{N-2}}$ . Bahri and Coron showed that if Ω has nontrivial homology this problem has a positive solution for p = 2*. However, this is not enough to guarantee existence in the supercritical case. For ${p\geq\frac{2(N-1)}{N-3}}$ Passaseo exhibited domains carrying one nontrivial homology class in which no nontrivial solution exists. Here we give examples of domains whose homology becomes richer as p increases. More precisely, we show that for ${p>\frac{2(N-k)}{N-k-2}}$ with 1 ≤ k ≤ N?3 there are bounded smooth domains in ${\mathbb{R}^{N}}$ whose cup-length is k + 1 in which this problem does not have a nontrivial solution. For N = 4,8,16 we show that there are many domains, arising from the Hopf fibrations, in which the problem has a prescribed number of solutions for some particular supercritical exponents.  相似文献
