A high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method was developed for the separation and determination of individual (C10-C13) linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LAS). New sets of conditions have been established for routine analysis of individual chemical forms of four LAS surfactants, i.e. C10-C13 LAS. Under a condition set using a mobile phase containing 1.5 mM ammonium acetate in methanol/water 80:20 (v/v) mixture, detection limits obtained were in the range 1.5 ppb (for C10 LAS) to 11.5 ppb (for C13 LAS). This offers the advantages of significant improvement in resolution, short separation time and using less amount of common salt under isocratic condition. In addition, the use of simple mobile phase containing a simple low amount of salt cannot deposit at the entrance of mass spectrometric detector. The method is applicable to the simultaneous determination of LAS surfactants in various water samples. LAS surfactants presented in these samples were also successfully confirmed by using electrospray mass spectrometry.  相似文献

An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of fourteen endocrine disrupter chemicals (EDCs) in urban wastewater samples has been developed. The studied compounds were: bisphenol A and its chlorinated derivatives (monochloro, dichloro, trichloro and tretrachlorobisphenol A), three alkylphenols (4-n-nonyl, 4-n-octyl and 4-(tert-octyl)phenol) and six well known phthalate esters (dimethyl, diethyl, di-n-butyl, butylbenzyl, bis(2-ethylhexyl) and di-n-octylphthalate). The method involves extraction from the samples and preconcentration of the analytes using a solid-phase extraction (SPE) procedure and subsequent liquid chromatographic separation with mass spectrometric detection (LC−MS). Bisphenol F was used as a surrogate. Quantification limits found ranged between 12 ng L 1 for diethylphthalate and 69 ng L 1 for 4-(tert-octyl)phenol. The method was satisfactorily used for determination of these chemicals in urban wastewater samples of Granada City (Spain) and validated using a recovery assay with spiked samples.  相似文献

Drinking water produced from surface water may contain many polar, hydrophilic compounds in spite of different treatment steps such as soil filtration, ozone treatment and activated carbon filtration. Little is known about these compounds. The objectives of this work were the detection and identification by means of tandem mass spectrometry (MS-MS) coupled on-line by a thermospray interface with liquid chromatography. Quantification is possible if standard compounds are available. The different compounds in the water extracts were not only separated by means of an analytical column but also using MS-MS after loop injection bypassing the analytical column. Molecular weight information in the loop spectra (overview spectra) and collisionally induced dissociation (CID) made possible the identification of some of these compounds which cannot be eliminated in the drinking water treatment process. Identification was not only done by interpretation of the recorded daughter- and parent-ion spectra but also by comparing them with a laboratory-made daughter-ion library of polar, hydrophilic pollutants. Direct mixture analysis using MS-MS allows the detection and identification of some of the pollutants if they reach the drinking water in the course of the surface water treatment process because of their biochemical and chemical persistence and/or non-sorbability during the soil or activated carbon filtration process. The proposed method for the analysis of water for polar, non-volatile and/or thermolabile organic substances is a quick, specific and powerful technique which makes it possible to detect and identify these substances without any chromatographic separation or derivatization  相似文献

建立了单滴液相微萃取(SDME)与气相色谱-质谱(GC-MS)联用技术快速检测水中的硝基咪唑类药物,对影响萃取的因素(溶剂的种类及用量、萃取时间、萃取温度及搅拌子的搅拌速度)进行优化。优化的萃取条件为:溶剂为2.5μL正辛醇,温度为50℃,搅拌速度为600 r/min,时间为20 min。萃取后,微液滴转移至衍生化试管,于70℃水浴中衍生45 min,进样分析。该方法在水中的线性范围为0.5~400μg/L,线性相关系数良好(r0.998),检测限为0.16~0.57μg/L。加标自来水和湖水中的相对平均回收率为80.9%~103.6%,相对标准偏差为1.7%~9.0%。  相似文献

Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) is a powerful tool for analysis of drugs and their metabolites. We used a column-switching system in combination with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization LC–MS (LC–APCI–MS) for the determination of theophylline and its metabolites in biological samples. The separation was carried out on a reversed-phase column using methanol–20 mM ammonium acetate as a mobile phase at a flow-rate of 1 ml/min in 30 min. In the mass spectrum, the molecular ions of these drugs and metabolites were clearly observed as base peaks. This method is sufficiently sensitive and accurate for the pharmacokinetic studies of these drugs.  相似文献

An analytical method is presented which permits trace level determination of 17alpha-ethynylestradiol (EE2), 17beta-estradiol (E2), and estrone (E1). Using this method, the estrogenic steroids were analyzed in drinking water, surface water, and wastewater (sewage influents and effluents) at concentrations down to 0.1 ng/L. Sample volumes between 100 and 500 mL are concentrated using automated solid-phase extraction. Analysis is performed by liquid chromatography with detection by tandem mass spectrometry. Applying simple clean-up procedures and internal standard calibration, recovery losses resulting from matrix-dependent ion suppression during electrospray ionization could be compensated for all of the investigated compounds. Recoveries around 100% were obtained for all analytes after correction using the internal standards. Limits of quantification (LOQ) were between 0.1 and 0.4 ng/L for purified sewage, surface, ground, and drinking water and between 1 and 2 ng/L in the case of raw sewage. Water treatment by wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) or by a surface water treatment plant affected the removal of all estrogenic steroids. Thus, E1, E2, and EE2 were removed in the municipal WWTPs to the extent of 93%, 93%, and 80%, respectively. In the effluents of the WWTP in Ruhleben (Berlin, Germany), E1, E2, and EE2 were detected at the low ng/L level. E2 and EE2 were, however, not present in the Berlin surface water above the LOQ (0.2 ng/L). E1 was the only compound that could be detected in surface water samples. After additional surface water treatment it was still detectable but only at trace-level concentrations with a mean value of 0.16 ng/L.  相似文献

Acceptance of toxicity bioassays as effective analytical tools in environmental areas needs guarantees of standardization but also validation. Ten European laboratories took part in an inter-laboratory study using different commercial devices based on bioluminescence inhibition of bacteria Vibrio fischeri. Reproducibility and stability by short toxicity endpoints, effective concentration that gives 10%, 50% and 80% of inhibition (EC10, EC50 and EC80) is evaluated. Parametric and non-parametric statistic is applied and performance of participant laboratories is addressed by z-scores calculated by non-parametric statistic. z-Score classification was based on harmonised protocol for proficiency testing of analytical laboratories (satisfactory |z| ≤ 2; questionable 2 < |z| ≤ 3; unsatisfactory |z| > 3). Tested samples were phenol, 3,5-dichlorophenol and influent wastewater. Based on z-score classification, more than 70% of the laboratories showed a satisfactory performance for phenol, 3,5-dichlorophenol and influent wastewater (86%, 90% and 70%, respectively). Reproducibility and stability was observed in toxicant references and in wastewater samples. EC80 determination appears to be more robust that EC10 and EC50. EC determinations can be considered favorable at 5 and 15 min of exposition, in particular for EC80. The use of different commercial devices can not be considered an additional source of variation.  相似文献

Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and coupled column chromatography can be used to overcome problems likely to occur in direct separation and determination of drug enantiomers in biological samples. This is exemplified here with the direct separation and determination of terbutaline in human plasma at the nmol/l level. A beta-cyclodextrin column with an aqueous mobile phase was used for chiral separation. For coupled column chromatography, the concentration of each enantiomer was calculated from the enantiomeric area ratio and the racemate concentration. A deuterium-labelled internal standard was used in the LC-MS experiments.  相似文献

A method for the detection and quantification of the microcystins (MCs)-MC-LR, MC-RR and MC-YR-in biological samples by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) has been developed. The optimum extraction conditions were 500 mg of liver or kidney, C18 bonded silica as dispersant, and a mixture methanol-water (70:30) as eluent. The MCs were determined by liquid chromatography electrospray mass spectrometry (LC/ES/MS). Recoveries of biological extracts at three different spiked levels (1-10 mg kg(-1)) ranged from 40.5 to 87.0% in liver, and from 52.5 to 74.5 in kidney. R.S.D.s were < 15.6% and < 10.6%, respectively. The detection and quantification limits were 0.05 and 0.5 mg kg(-1), for all MCs. The method was applied to MCs detection in liver and kidney of rat previously injected i.p. with MC-LR. Results showed the presence of MC-LR in the liver of the animals injected with the highest dose.  相似文献

A method for the determination of 5 triazine herbicides and 12 degradation products in environmental water samples using liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (LC/ESI/MS) has been developed. The pesticides in water were extracted with two types of solid phase: a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and a graphitized carbon black. Desorption solvents for the extracted compounds were acetone for the styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and methanol for the graphitized carbon black. Overall recoveries from ground water and river water ranged from 73% to 111%. The limits of detection (LODs) were 0.2 to 28 ng l(-1). A new, simple, fast and high sensitive analytical method based on dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the simultaneous determination of nitro musks in surface water and wastewater samples is presented. Different parameters, such as the nature and volume of both the extraction and disperser solvents and the ionic strength and pH of the aqueous donor phase, were optimized. Under the selected conditions (injection of a mixture of 1 mL of acetone as disperser solvent and 50 μL of chloroform as extraction solvent, no salt addition and no pH adjustment) the figures of merit of the proposed DLLME-GC-MS method were evaluated. High enrichment factors, ranging between 230 and 314 depending on the target analyte, were achieved, which redound to limits of detection in the ng L−1 range (i.e., 4-33 ng L−1). The relative standard deviation (RSD) was below 5% for all the target analytes. Finally, the recoveries obtained for different water samples of diverse origin (sea, river, irrigation channel and water treatment plant) ranged between 87 and 116%, thus showing no matrix effects.  相似文献

In the present work, a method was developed and optimized aiming at the determination of anatoxin-a in environmental water samples. The method is based on the direct derivatization of the analyte by adding hexylchloroformate in the alkalinized sample (pH = 9.0). The derivatized anatoxin-a was extracted by a solid-phase microextraction (SPME) procedure, submersing a PDMS fiber in an amber vial for 20 min under magnetic stirring. GC-MS was used to identify and quantify the analyte in the SIM mode. Norcocaine was used as internal standard. The following ions were chosen for SIM analyses (quantification ions in italics): anatoxin-a: 191, 164, 293 and norcocaine: 195, 136, 168. The calibration curve showed linearity in the range of 2.5-200 ng/mL and the LOD was 2 ng/mL. This method of SPME and GC-MS analysis can be readily utilized to monitor anatoxin-a for water quality control.  相似文献

An original method based on LC-MS for determination of the flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) in air is presented, as an alternative to the traditionally used GC-MS. The soft ionization in LC-MS makes it possible to monitor the intact molecule and to use 13C-labelled TBBPA as an internal surrogate standard, two features that improve both accuracy and precision of the analyses. Comparison of different acquisition modes in electrospray ionization showed that the lowest detections limit, 3.1 pg TBBPA injected, was obtained in SIM monitoring the molecular ions 542.7/544.7. A fragmentation pathway of TBBPA in LC-ESI-MS is suggested. The only sample clean-up steps required are solvent reduction and filtration of the sample extract. Recoveries were 93% at a 30 ng level and 75% at 3 ng. The new method was tested by analyses of air samples collected at a recycling plant for electronic equipment. The amount of TBBPA found was 13.8 ng/m3 with an RSD of 5.9%. Furthermore, it was found that TBBPA in a standard solution could be partially debrominated, if not carefully protected from light during storage.  相似文献

In this work, the reactions of various copper ions with 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-[5-(1,3,3-trimethyl-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-ylidene)-penta-1,3-dienyl]-3H-indolium--more commonly known as dimethylindodicarbocyanine polymethyne dye (DIDC)--as well as the application of the results obtained for the development of a spectrophotometric method for the determination of Cu(I), Cu(II) and Cu(III) are described. Cu(I) and Cu(II) in the presence of chloride ions and DIDC reagent are extractable by a variety of organic solvents. It is important to emphasize that Cu(I) was extracted under considerably different experimental conditions than Cu(II). The optimum conditions for the extraction of the Cu ion associates with DIDC by amyl acetate and the determination of Cu(I) and Cu(II) were found to be: pH 3-5 and pH 3-6 and chloride concentrations of 0.5-0.8 mol L(-1) and 3-6 mol L(-1) for Cu(I) and Cu(II), respectively. The molar absorptivities for Cu(I) and Cu(II) are 1.8x10(5) L mol(-1) cm(-1) and 1.2x10(5) L mol(-1) cm(-1), respectively. A reaction mechanism is suggested. Cu(III) does not extract in the presence of chloride ions. However, Cu(III) is a strong oxidative agent which can cause the decolourisation of the DIDC reagent. The optimum conditions for Cu(III) determination were found to be: 2x10(-5) mol L(-1) DIDC; pH 8; water:acetone 4:1 medium. The developed procedures were tested for the determination of Cu(I), Cu(II) and Cu(III) in semiconductor samples.  相似文献

A method for the simultaneous determination of two biocidal quaternary ammonium compounds; didecyldimethylammonium chloride (didecyldimethyl quat) and dodecylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride (benzyl quat), in seawater by solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) was developed. The optimised procedure utilised off-line extraction of the analytes from seawater using polymeric (Strata-X) SPE cartridges. Recoveries ranged from 80 to 105%, with detection limits at the low parts-per-trillion (ng/l) level for both analytes. To demonstrate sensitivity, environmental concentrations were measured at three different locations along the North East coast of England with measured values in the range 120-270ng/l.  相似文献

A procedure is described for the determination of five acidic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals (ibuprofen, naproxen, ketoprofen, tolfenamic acid and diclofenac) in sewage water. The analytical method involves the concentration of water samples using a solid-phase extraction polymeric sorbent, functionalized with N-vinylpyrrolidone. Analytes were eluted with ethyl acetate. derivatized using N-methyl-N-(tert.-butyldimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (MTBSTFA) and analyzed by GC-MS. Influence of time, temperature and volume of MTBSTFA in the yield of the derivatization step were studied in detail using a factorial central composite design. Quantification limits of the analytical procedure for 500 ml of sewage water ranged from 20 to 50 ng/l. Recoveries from 90 to 115% were found for sewage water samples spiked with the studied compounds at the low ng/ml level. Results obtained for real samples show the presence of ibuprofen and naproxen in both influent and effluent of a sewage water treatment plant.  相似文献

A new analytical method, using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) techniques, was developed for the determination in packaged food beverages of five ink photoinitiator residues: 2-isopropylthioxanthone (ITX), benzophenone, 2-ethylhexyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoate (EHDAB), 1-hydroxycyclohexyl-1-phenyl ketone (IRGACURE 184) and ethyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoate (EDAB). Samples were extracted from selected beverages (milk, fruit juices and wine) and relative packagings, using n-hexane and dichloromethane, respectively, purified on solid-phase extraction (SPE) silica gel cartridges, and then analyzed in GC/MS and LC/MS. The recovery percentages, obtained spiking the beverage samples at concentrations of 4 and 10 microgl(-1) with a standard mixture of photoinitiators, were in the range 42-108% (milk), 50-84% (wine), and 48-109% (fruit juices). The repeatability of the method was assessed in all cases by the % of correlation value, that was lower than 19%. The lowest limits of detection (LODs) and limits of quantification (LOQs), obtained using GC/MS, were in the range 0.2-1 and 1-5 microgl(-1), respectively. The method was applied to the analysis of forty packaged food beverages (milk, fruit juices and wine samples). The most significant contamination was that of benzophenone, found in all samples in a concentration range of 5-217mugl(-1). Its presence was confirmed by an LC/Atmospheric-Pressure PhotoIonization (APPI)/MS/MS analysis. The photoinitiator (EHDAB) was found in eleven out of forty beverages in a concentration range of 0.13-0.8 microgl(-1). Less important was the ITX contamination, found in three out of forty samples in a range 0.2-0.24 microgl(-1). The work proposes a new method to analyze ink photoinitiator residues in polycoupled carton packaging and in contained food beverages.  相似文献

A method was developed for the determination of benzothiazoles from municipal wastewater, which may originate from their use as corrosion inhibitors, vulcanization accelerators or fungicides. Extraction is performed by SPE using a polymeric sorbent, followed by LC-MS analysis with electrospray ionization. Due to the diversity of the analytes, two LC-MS runs are required: 2-aminobenzothiazole, benzothiazole and 2-methylthiobenzothiazole are detected in the positive ion mode, while benzothiazole-2-sulfonic acid (BTSA), 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and 2-hydroxybenzothiazole are determined in the negative ion mode. Limits of quantification range from 20 to 200 ng/L in treated wastewater. Reliable quantification with R.S.D.s below 25% is achieved by standard addition in a limited number of samples of each sample series. A significant reduction of matrix effects in positive electrospray ionization is achieved by reducing the flow directed into the ESI-interface. When applied to untreated municipal wastewater most analytes were found at concentrations in the high ng/L- to low microg/L-range with the most polar BTSA being the dominant compound of this class. Removal of benzothiazoles in biological wastewater treatment appears to be limited.  相似文献
