Four angular distributions of the differential cross section of the reaction γ + p → π0 + p have been measured at the Bonn 2.5 GeV Synchrotron at pion c.m. angles between 3° and 63° in the photon energy range from 0.9 GeV to 1.2 GeV. The π0 mesons were detected by their two decay photons. The data are compared with data of other laboratories and predictions of two recent partial-wave analyses.  相似文献

The polarized target asymmetry for γ + p → π+ + n was measured at c.m. angles around 130° for the energy range between 0.3 and 1.0 GeV. A magnetic spectrometer system was used to detect π+ mesons from the polarized butanol target. The data show two prominent positive peaks at 0.4 and 0.8 GeV and a deep minimum at 0.6 GeV. These features are well reproduced by the phenomenological analysis made by us.  相似文献

At the Bonn 2.5 GeV electron synchrotron the first measurements of the target asymmetry for the reaction γ + n ↑ → π? + p have been performed. The negative pions were detected in a magnetic spectrometer at a constant pion c.m. angle of 40° and photon energies between 0.45 GeV and 2.0 GeV. Deuterated butanol was used as target material. The polarization of the deuterons was about 16%. The results show a significant difference from the previously measured π+ asymmetry.  相似文献

The polarisation parameters Σ, P and T have been measured for the process γp→π0p in the photon energy range 1300–2100 MeV and c.m. angles between 30° and 110°, in an experiment with a polarised beam and polarised target. The results are compared with a recent theoretical analysis which fits data from threshold to 16 GeV. The new data are in general agreement with the analysis, but with some significant discrepancies in detail.  相似文献

The target asymmetry T = (σ↑ ? σ↓)/(σ↑ + σ↓) for the reaction γp → π+n has been measured at the Bonn 2.5 GeV electron synchrotron for a pion c.m. angle of 40° and γ energies between 0.5 and 2.2 GeV. Butanol was used as the target material. About 35% of the protons could be polarized using the dynamic-polarization method in a continuous-flow cryostat operating at 1°K and 25 kG. The π+ mesons were detected in a magnetic-spectrometer system. Considerable structure in the asymmetry was observed.  相似文献

We present double differential cross sections for the reactions K? + p → π± + anything at 8.25 GeV/c. Using published data for reactions K+ + p→ π? + anything and p + p → π+ anything we predict the differential cross sections for γ + p → π? + anything, π? + p → π? + anything and π? + p → π+ + anything in the target fragmentation region based on factorisation of the pomeron and Regge trajectories. Our predictions agree with the experimental data and support the hypothesis of factorisation of the Regge trajectories in the target fragmentation region.  相似文献

The polarized target asymmetry for γn→π?p was measured over the second resonance region from 0.55 to 0.9 GeV at pion c.m. angles between 60° and 120°. A double-arm spectrometer was used with a deuterated butanol target to detect both the pion and the proton, thus considerably improving the data quality. Including the new data in the amplitude analysis, the radiative decay widths of three resonances were determined more accurately than before. Results are presented on a measurement of the I = 3/2 Kπ elastic scattering cross section by applying the Chew-Low extrapolation method in the reaction K?p → K?π?Δ++at14.3GeV/c. The magnitude of σ(K?π? → K?π?) is found to be about 3 mb at threshold and slowly falling with energy to about 1.5 mb at 2.8 GeV. The off-mass-shell moments of the differential elastic cross section are given. The absolute value of δ30 is found to be increasing slowly from 0° to 20° between threshold and 1.2 GeV.  相似文献

The polarized target asymmetry for the process γp → π+n has been measured for incident photon energies below 1.02 GeV over a range of c.m. angles from 40° to 160°. π+ mesons from a polarized butanol target were detected by a magnetic spectrometer. The results are compared with predictions given by existing analyses. A tentative interpretation of the data is performed, and a larger contribution of S-wave resonances is suggested. The photocouplings of dominant resonances were hardly changed by the inclusion of new data and they seem to be almost uniquely determined.  相似文献

The invariant mass spectrum of neutral meson states from π?p interactions at 40 GeV/c incident momentum has been investigated in a high statistics experiment performed at the 70 GeV IHEP accelerator. To detect the high energy photons coming from the produced neutral states, a hodoscope spectrometer with a computer on-line was used. A clear structure on the mass spectrum of dipions produced in the reaction π?p→π°π°n is observed at 2 GeV. The decay angular distributions show in this mass region the variation with mass typical of a state with a spin J = 4. The mass of the observed meson is found to be M = (2020±30)MeV and the estimate of the full width is (180±60) MeV.  相似文献

A study is presented of the inclusive production cross sections of K(892) vector mesons in pp interactions at 12 and 24 GeV/c and in π+p interactions at 16 GeV/c. The K inclusive cross section is ~0.9 mb for both pp at 24 GeV/c and π+p interactions at 16 GeV/c. For pp interactions, σ(K1+) and σ(K1?) are seen to rise with energy, showing a threshold behaviour. In both pp and π+p interactions, σ(K1+) largely exceeds σ(K1?) at these energies and this excess is interpreted as K1+ production by beam and target fragmentations. The decays of K1±0 yield ~30% of the K0 observed in the final states. The pT2 dependence of both K1+ and K1? cross sections is described by an exponential with slope of ~3.3 (GeV/c)?2. The longitudinal momentum spectra for K1+ in 16 GeV/cπ+p and 24 GeV/c pp interactions are similar in shape in the target hemisphere. The K1? spectra are similar over the whole kinematic region when viewed in the quark c.m.s. and point to a central production mechanism. Comparing K1+ and ρ0 production, striking similarities are found.  相似文献

Measurements of the polarization parameter of the reactions π?p → π0n and π?p → ηn at 4.90 and 7.85 GeV/c and for a squared four-momentum transfer ?t ranging from 0.1 to 2.0 (GeV/c)2 have been achieved by using a butanol polarized proton target and detecting only the two γ's from the neutral meson decay. The background due to events involving bound protons has been separately measured and subtracted out. A large positive polarization has been found for the reaction π?p → π0n. It is consistent with other pion-nucleon scattering data connected by isospin conservation. The polarization for the reaction π?p → ηn is not significantly different from zero within the large experimental errors.  相似文献

The spectra of fast π + mesons from the π ? Aπ + X reaction on A=6Li, 7Li, and 16O nuclei at a primary momentum of p 0=0.72 GeV/c (T 0=0.59 GeV) are measured at emission-angle values in the range ?=0°–14°. The results obtained in this way are compared with experimental data taken in other studies at lower energies and with the results of model calculations. The energy dependence of the cross sections and of shadowing effects is analyzed for the reactions in question that occur on lithium isotopes.  相似文献

The differential cross sections of the reaction γp→π0p have been measured at photon energies between 390 MeV and 975 MeV with an energy step of 20 or 25 MeV. The angular region covers 11 angles between 15° and 130° in the c.m.s. A combination of a magnetic spectrometer and photon detector was used for the measurement in the angular region from 50° to 130°. At forward angles of 15°, 35° and 50°, π0 mesons were detected using a π0 detector consisting of a pair of photon detectors. The data obtained with two different detection systems overlap at the angle of 50° and coincide with each other within the experimental error. The results are compared with those of phenomenological partial-wave analyses.  相似文献

A streamer chamber detector surrounding an intersection region of the CERN ISR was triggered on large transverse momentum π0's by means of an array of lead-glass counters. The directions of all charged particles and photons converted in lead-oxide plates inside the streamer chamber were measured. Data were taken at c.m.s. energies of 45, 53 and 63 GeV around two production angles of the high-pTπ0 (90° and 53°). The total charged multiplicity associated with large transverse momentum π0's is presented for the first time. Associated photon multiplicities are given for different phase-space regions. The data are compared with two extreme models, a simple jet model and a cluster model which describes normal inelastic events. The cluster model agrees much better with the data.  相似文献

The reaction π?p↑→π?π+π?p has been measured at 17 GeV/c using a polarized target. The data sample contains about 60 000 interactions on polarized protons. The nucleon polarization as a function of momentum transfer is very similar to elastic π?p scattering and is nearly independent of the π mass, except for a possible structure around 1.2 GeV.Using the isobar model, we have performed a partial-wave analysis and extracted the 3π amplitudes. The generalized 3π density matrix elements agree with earlier determinations. Relative phases obtained from density matrix elements agree well with the ones obtained from transversity amplitudes. This proves the validity of the coherence assumption made in the interpretation of unpolarized target results. Our results confirm the existence of an A1 resonance in the region 1.2–1.3 GeV.  相似文献

The differential cross section of the reactionγ+p→π + was measured at pion CM-angles of 20° and 30° for photon energies between 500 MeV and 1,400 MeV. The pions were detected in a magnetic spectrometer. By measuring each pion trajectory and by offline calculation of the initial pion parameters an energy resolution of about 2.5% FWHM was achieved. The results complete a set of data which were measured in recent years at the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron. In comparison to photoproduction analyses two effects were revealed: The η cusp appears in the energy dependence of the cross section as a sharp drop atK γ=710 MeV. In the region of the third resonance the data show a greater enhancement than predicted by most of the analyses.  相似文献

The Track Sensitive Target technique has been used to isolate 5000 events from the reaction π+p→π+pπ0π0 at 4 GeV/c. Channel cross sections are measured. The data agree with predictions from phase-shift analyses of π+π? data: the effect of the S1 is clearly seen. There is strong evidence against any narrow ? below 1 GeV/c2.  相似文献
