From Mössbauer spectra of GdAlO3 and GdVO4 above and below the Néel temperature and fitted using a transmission integral, we have determined the following parameters of the 86.5 keV and 105 keV levels:g(86)/g(0)=+1.217±0.005,Q(86)/Q(0)= +0.10±0.02,g(105)/g(0)=–0.55±0.02,Q(105)/Q(0)=+0.74±0.02, r 2105/ r 286=+1.30±0.05. The linewidth observed for the 105 keV transition is less than the calculated natural linewidth.  相似文献

We calculate the average resistanceR(L) of lattice animals spanningL×L cells on the square lattice using exact and Monte Carlo methods. The dynamical resistivity exponent, defined asR(L) L , is found to be =1.36±0.07. This contradicts the Alexander-Orbach conjecture, which predicts 0.8. Our value for differs from earlier measurements of this quantity by other methods yielding =1.17±0.05 and 1.22±0.08 by Havlin et al.On leave from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.  相似文献

We consider the family of those states which become asymptotically indistinguishable from the vacuum for observations in far away regions of space. The pure states of this family may be subdivided into superselection sectors labelled by generalized charge quantum numbers. The principle of locality implies that within this family one may define a natural product composition (leading for instance from single particle states ton-particle states). Intrinsically associated with then-fold product of states of one sector there is a unitary representation ofP (n), the permutation group ofn elements, analogous in its role to that arising in wave mechanics from the permutations of the arguments of ann-particle wave function. We show that each sector possesses a statistics parameter which determines the nature of the representation ofP (n) for alln and whose possible values are 0, ±d –1 (d a positive integer). A sector with 0 has a unique charge conjugate (antiparticle states); if =d –1 the states of the sector obey para-Bose statistics of orderd, if =–d –1 they obey para-Fermi statistics of orderd. Some conditions which restrict to ± 1 (ordinary Bose or Fermi statistics) are given.  相似文献

Using the renormalization group approach, an analysis is given of the asymptotic properties of branched polymers situated on the two-dimensional square lattice with attractive impenetrable surfaces. We modeled branched polymers as site lattice animals with loops and site lattice animals without loops on the simple square lattice. We found the gyration radius critical exponent =0.6511±0.0003 and =0.6513±0.0003 for branched polymers with and without loops, respectively. Our results for the crossover exponent =0.502±0.003 for branched polymers with loops and =0.503±0.003 for branched polymers without loops satisfy the recent hyperuniversality conjecture = . In addition, we have studied partially directed site lattice animals.  相似文献

In a previous paper asymptotic creation and annhilation operatorsa ± # have been constructed by the Kato-Mugibayashi method from the creation and annihilation operatorsa # for spin 1/2 fields with an interaction Hamiltonian density which is an evendegree polynomial in the field with ultra-violet cut-off and its derivatives. For any eigenvector of the total HamiltonianH=H 0+H I partial isometries ± have been defined so thata ± # equal ± a # *± on the ranges ± of ±. Since the existence of a groundstate ofH has been proved, the existence of at least one pair ± follows. The purpose of this paper is to show that for any ± orthogonal to the distribution of spins and momenta of the interacting Schrödinger states exp[–itH]± approaches fort the distributions of spins and momenta of the free state exp[–itH 0] if a wave-amplitude renormalization is carried out in ±. This is achieved by studying the expectation values of the operators in themaximally abelian W*-algebra generated by operators of the form a*a, in terms of whichany information about spins and momenta can be expressed.Supported in part by the National Research Council of Canada.  相似文献

For a spherically symmetric potential such that rVL 1(a, ), a>0, and is such that, if we define W=– r V(t) d(t), W belongs to L 1 (0, ) and rW0 as r0, we show that the number of bound states in any partial-wave satisfies the bound n2 0 r W 2 dr. It was shown in a previous paper [1] that this class of potentials is regular from the point of view of abstract scattering theory as well as from the time-independent theory and the Jost function approach. We show also that, for large values of the coupling constant, n(gV) has the asymptotic behaviour C ±g 0 W(r) dr as g±.  相似文献

The controversial 2-d, 3-state chiral Potts model is studied using transfer matrix finite size scaling. at =0, we find dq N/dN –4/5, whereq is the wavevector, the chiral field, andN the strip width (N=4–10). The result is consistent with den Nijs's crossover exponent =1/6. With surface fields on the infinite free boundaries, exponents associated with bulk magnetizationy H, surface magnetizationy H, and surface susceptibility are computed vs. ; results are similar for or to the infinite direction. Preliminary results are given for the bulk specific heat critical amplitudes, to test the universality of amplitude ratios. The interface wetting line is located for 01/4 using simple transfer matrix calculations of surface tensions in the solid-on-solid approximation. Overhangs or bubbles seem relatively unimportant at all temperatures.  相似文献

The usual kinetic equations for the site occupation probabilities in an external field are solved exactly in a simple one-dimensional periodic model with two kinds of atoms using a) free boundary conditions and order of limitsN, 0 needed for a proper treatment of the dc conductivity here b) boundary conditions with metallic contacts and order of limitsN, 0 and c) the same boundary conditions but reversed order of limiting processes 0,N typical of e.g. numerical and percolation treatments. (N and are the number of sites and frequency.) It is demonstrated that though the bulk dc conductivity is the same in all three cases, local bulk properties of the material are strongly dependent on the régime used. The role of the order of all three limiting processes 0,N+ andn+ (Nn+) for local shifts of the chemical potential n in the dc limit is examined (n is the number of the relevant site calculated from a boundary of the chain). It is shown especially that the rate equation treatment (régime a) on the one hand and numerical or percolation treatments (régime c) on the other hand never yield the same bulk values of r.  相似文献

One-dimensional lattices with harmonic coupling between neighboring lattice sites and an on-site anharmonic potential V()=A2n+2 + n+2 + C2 + D are examined in the displacive limit. Kink solutions, interpolating between the coexistent phases =0 and =±(C/A)1/2n at theT=0 first-order phase transition pointB 2=4AC,A, C>0,B<0,D=0 are found in simple analytic form and their dependence on the degree of anharmonicity (n=2, 4, 6, ...) is discussed. It is shown that, at the phase transition point, the kinks are accompanied by a continuous spectrum of periodic nonlinear excitations (periodons) having finite energy density.Work supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation  相似文献

We discuss the randomly driven systemdx/dt= -W(x) +f(t), wheref(t) is a Gaussian random function or stirring force withf(t)f(t)=2(t–t), andW(x) is of the formgx 1+2. The parameter is a measure of the nonlinearity of the equation. We show how to obtain the correlation functionsx(t)f(t)···x(t( n)) f as a power series in. We obtain three terms in the expansion and show how to use Padé approximants to analytically continue the answer in the variable. By using scaling relations, we show how to get a uniform approximation to the equal-time correlation functions valid for allg and.  相似文献

LetN, be a von Neumann algebras on a Hilbert space , a common cyclic and separating vector. Assume to be cyclic and also separating forN . Denote by , N , N the modular operators to (, ), (N, ), resp (N , ). Assume now -it N it N for allt 0. (Such type of inclusions ((N U, ) , ) are called half-sided modular.) Then the modular groups it , N ir , N is ,t, r, s generate a unitary representation of the group S1(2, )/Z 2 of positive energy.Another result is related to two half-sided modular inclusions (1 , ) and (2 , ). Under proper conditions the three modular groups it , 1 ir , 2 is ,t, r, s generate the three-dimensional subgroup of O(2, 1) of two commuting translations and the Lorentz transformation.Partly supported by the DFG, SFB 288 Differentialgeometrie und Quantenphysik.  相似文献

Monte Carlo simulation and series expansion shows the radius of gyration of large clusters withs sites each to vary ass with0.56 in two and0.47 in three dimensions at the percolation threshold, and with(d=2)0.65 and(d=3)0.53 for random lattice animals (zero concentration). Clusters up tos=100 were used. The perimeter of random animals approaches 2.8s for larges on the simple cubic lattice. Monte Carlo simulation of the Eden process (growing animals) up tos=5,000 indicates a systematic variation of about ±0.05 for the effective exponent=(s) and thus suggests that the true asymptotic exponents may be compatible with the predictions of hyper-scaling.  相似文献

A polymer chain with attractive and repulsive forces between the building blocks is modeled by attaching a weight e for every self-intersection and e /(2d) for every self-contact to the probability of an n-step simple random walk on d , where , >0 are parameters. It is known that for d=1 and > the chain collapses down to finitely many sites, while for d=1 and < it spreads out ballistically. Here we study for d=1 the critical case = corresponding to the collapse transition and show that the end-to-end distance runs on the scale n = (log n)–1/4. We describe the asymptotic shape of the accordingly scaled local times in terms of an explicit variational formula and prove that the scaled polymer chain occupies a region of size n times a constant. Moreover, we derive the asymptotics of the partition function.  相似文献

The Faradayan hypothesis of inductive coupling of the electromagnetic and gravitational fields is briefly discussed. An experiment designed to test the hypothesis wherein samples are spun to see if any electrogravitational charge is induced is described. Results of the experiment are reported. They imply the induction of a charge density * for spinning samples that behaves as *=ma, where m is the mass density of an element of matter experiencing an acceleration a, and is the coupling coefficient for the hypothetical electrogravitational induction effect. In this experiment, is found to have the value(9.6±3.3)×10 –13 statcoulombs/dyne. Tests that seem to rule out explanations of the observed charges in terms of conventional charging mechanisms are considered.  相似文献

We consider a representation of the entropy production for a completely positive, trace-preserving dynamical semigroup satisfying detailed balance with respect to its faithful stationary state denned on aW*-algebra(): it is expressed as a positive Hermitian form on(), which is analogous to the quantum correlation functions used in the Kubo theory. By considering this Hermitian form as a variation function of a vector in(), an exact characterization of the stationary states of semigroups in a certain class is obtained. On this basis, the problem of characterizing the stationary states discussed by Spohn and Lebowitz for manyreservoir open systems is solved without the restriction to situations near thermal equilibrium.  相似文献

The Lorentz transformation is derived without assuming that the velocity of light is a constant. This suggests that the constantc which appears in the transformation has a deeper significance than heretofore commonly assumed. It is hypothesized that there exists, in all of physical reality, velocities of only one magnitude. The magnitude isc, the speed of light in vacuum. This hypothesis forces us to view a fundamental particle as an extended object and matter in general as a field (t, r, ), which we give the generic name stuff. An important feature of the field is that at each spacetime point(t, r) stuff travels in all directions with speedc. In order to elucidate the nature of (t, r, ), the equations determining for a one-dimensional world are derived and solved. Fundamental particles are shown to exist and their structure is obtained.A private communication; not an official publication of the National Bureau of Standards.  相似文献

In this note we study M.F. Shirokov's One New Effect of Einstein's theory of Gravitation in the Kerr field. We confine ourselves to a circular trajectory (r=const) in the plane=/2. In the limit that terms of the second order and higher ina/r (a is the angular momentum per unit mass) are negligible we find an additional shift betweenT andT r (orT ) of amount –(8a/r)(m/r) 3/2. Thus vibrations lie further behindr(or) vibrations in this case than in the Schwarzschild field.  相似文献

Unitary field theories and SUPER-GUT theories work with an universal continuum, the structured spacetime of R. Descartes, B. Spinoza, B. Riemann, and A. Einstein, or a (Machian (1–3) ) structured vacuum according the quantum theory of unitary fields (Dirac, (4,5) and Heisenberg (6–8) ). The atomistic aspect of the substantial world is represented by the fundamental constants which are invariant against all transformations and which depend on nothings (Planck (9–11) ). A satisfactory unitary theory has to involve these constants like the mathematical numbers. Today, Planck's conception of the three elementary constants , c, and G may be the key to general relativistic quantum field theory like unitary theory. However, the elementary constants are a question of measurement-theory, also.According to Popper's theory (12–16) of induction, such unitary theories are universal explaining theories. The fundamental constants involve the complementarity between the universal statements in unitary theory and the basic statements in the language of classical observables.  相似文献
