In this work we propose a generalization of the concept of Ruelle’s operator for one dimensional lattices used in thermodynamic formalism and ergodic optimization, which we call generalized Ruelle’s operator. Our operator generalizes both the Ruelle operator proposed in [2] and the Perron Frobenius operator defined in [7]. We suppose the alphabet is given by a compact metric space, and consider a general a-priori measure to define the operator. We also consider the case where the set of symbols that can follow a given symbol of the alphabet depends on such symbol, which is an extension of the original concept of transition matrices from the theory of subshifts of finite type. We prove the analyticity of the Ruelle’s operator and present some examples.  相似文献

We study analytic smoothing effect of solutions to the Schrödinger equation with Cauchy data decaying exponentially at infinity. The domain of analyticity in the space variables of solutions is described under weight conditions on the data in terms of the corresponding supporting function. The domain of analyticity in the time variable is characterized by means of weight conditions of Gaussian type on the data. A generalization of various isometrical identities related to the analytic smoothing effect is introduced.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the maximal space analyticity radius associated with a regular solution of the Navier–Stokes equations and its connection to turbulence. In order to do this, we introduce a new auxiliary ODE for the evolution of the analyticity radius involving the Gevrey class norms. We further show that jumps in the maximal space analyticity radius are an intermittent event and are connected to inverse energy cascade. Our approach also leads to a new type of global regularity test for the Navier–Stokes equation.  相似文献

J.R. Holub (1988) [10] introduced the concept of backward shift on Banach spaces. We show that an infinite-dimensional function algebra does not admit a backward shift. Moreover, we define a backward quasi-shift as a weak type of a backward shift, and show that a function algebra A does not admit it, under the assumption that the Choquet boundary of A has at most finitely many isolated points.  相似文献

We consider the existence of weak solutions for classical doubly resonant semilinear elliptic problems. We show how the main technical assumptions can be used to define appropriate metrics on the underlying function space, so that extensions of the results already known in the literature can be obtained using only basic facts from critical point theory for continuous functionals on complete metric spaces.  相似文献

We present the weighted weak group inverse, which is a new generalized inverse of operators between two Hilbert spaces, and we extend the notation of the weighted weak group inverse for rectangular matrices. Some characterizations and representations of the weighted weak group inverse are investigated. We also apply these results to define and study the weak group inverse for a Hilbert space operator. We consider Cauchy problems for the 1-D one component Vlasov-Poisson and Fokker-Planck-Poisson equations with the initial electron density being in the natural space of arbitrary non-negative finite measures. In particular, the initial density can be a Dirac measure concentrated on a curve, which we refer to as “electron sheet” initial data. These problems resemble both structurally and functional analytically Cauchy problems for the 2-D Euler and Navier-Stokes equations (in vorticity formulation) with vortex sheet initial data. Here, we need to define weak solutions more specifically than usual since the product of a finite measure with a function of bounded variation is involved. We give a natural definition of the product, establish its weak stability, and existence of weak solutions follows. Our concept of weak solutions through the newly defined product is justified since solutions to the Fokker-Planck-Poisson equation, the analogue of Navier-Stokes equation, are shown to converge to weak solutions of the Vlasov-Poisson equation as the Fokker-Planck term vanishes. The main difficulty is the aforementioned weak stability which we establish through a careful analysis of the explicit structure of these equations. This is needed because the problem studied here is beyond the range of applicability of the “velocity averaging” compactness methods of DiPerna-Lions. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Over the past decades various solution concepts for vector optimization problems have been established and used: among them are efficient, weakly efficient and properly efficient solutions. In contrast to the classical approach, we define a solution to be a set of efficient solutions on which the infimum of the objective function with respect to an appropriate complete lattice (the space of self-infimal sets) is attained. The set of weakly efficient solutions is not considered to be a solution, but weak efficiency is essential in the construction of the complete lattice. In this way, two classic concepts are involved in a common approach. Several different notions of semicontinuity are compared. Using the space of self-infimal sets, we can show that various originally different concepts coincide. A Weierstrass existence result is proved for our solution concept. A slight relaxation of the solution concept yields a relationship to properly efficient solutions.  相似文献

This paper concerns the time dependent linear transport equation posed in a multidimensional rectangular parallelepiped with partially reflecting walls. We consider the continuous transport equation and the discrete ordinate equations simultaneously. Our boundary condition, partial specular reflection, includes both vacuum and reflecting boundaries as special cases. We define strong and weak solutions of the problem, strong solutions being solutions in the ordinary sense and weak solutions being distributions, and show that a weak solution is a strong solution if it has space and time derivatives almost everywhere. For weak solutions we establish existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence upon the initial data and the other functions which define the problem.  相似文献

We adapt the classical core concept to deal with situations involving time and uncertainty. We define the weak sequential core as the set of allocations that are stable against coalitional deviations ex ante, and moreover cannot be improved upon by any coalition after the resolution of uncertainty. We restrict ourselves to credible deviations, where a coalitional deviation cannot be counterblocked by some subcoalition. We study the relationship of the resulting core concept with other sequential core concepts, give sufficient conditions under which the weak sequential core is non-empty, but show that it is possible to give reasonable examples where it is empty.Helpful comments of Hans Peters are gratefully acknowledged. We discuss gain of analyticity phenomenon of solutions to the initial value problem for semilinear Schrödinger equations with gauge invariant nonlinearity. We prove that if the initial data decays exponentially, then the solution becomes real-analytic in the space variable and a Gevrey function of order 2 in the time variable except in the initial plane. Our proof is based on the energy estimates developed in our previous work and on fine summation formulae concerned with a matrix norm.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the relation between nonsmooth functions with domain in a Hilbert space and their local approximations. We consider Lipschitz functions and define an approximation model with directional derivatives. The qualitative behaviour of the approximation is studied by means of the concept of topological equivalence. Using this concept we establish the existence of a local coordinate transformation between the original function and the local approximation.  相似文献

In real linear spaces, partial orderings are usually generated by ordering cones. In many situations, however, such an ordering cone is too small with respect to the whole space. Therefore, in this paper, we extend the concept of ordering cones to a more general concept. For this purpose, we define a parameterized binary relation, based on a convex cone and a binary function. We investigate some geometrical and topological properties of this relation in detail.  相似文献
