The derivation of the brackets among coordinates and momenta for classical constrained systems is a necessary step toward their quantization. Here we present a new approach for the determination of the classical brackets which does neither require Dirac’s formalism nor the symplectic method of Faddeev and Jackiw. This approach is based on the computation of the brackets between the constants of integration of the exact solutions of the equations of motion. From them all brackets of the dynamical variables of the system can be deduced in a straightforward way.  相似文献

In a recent work Nambu has proposed ac-number dynamical formalism which can allow an odd numbern of canonical variables. Naturally associated to this new mechanics there exists ann-linear bracket whose study opens interesting possibilities. The purpose of this work is to show that besides this bracket another one which is bilinear and in fact a Lie bracket can also be associated with the Nambu mechanics. For anyn, however, this bracket is singular. In a sense previously used by the present author, this result exhibits the Nambu mechanics as an interesting class of singular generalized dynamical formalisms irrespective of the number of phase space variables. Reasons are given suggesting that such singular formalisms would be, within our context, the only ones capable of describing classical analogues of generalized quantum systems.  相似文献

The external algebra over holomorphic first order differential forms on a complex Lie groupG is endowed with the structure of a graded Poisson Lie algebra. This structure is introduced via graded bicovariant brackets that are shown to be in one to one correspondence withG-invariant tensors of special symmetry. Complete classification of graded Poisson Lie structures defined by homogeneous brackets is obtained for the case of classical complex Lie groups.  相似文献

A compatible Lie algebra is a pair of Lie algebras such that any linear combination of the two Lie brackets is a Lie bracket. We construct a bialgebra theory of compatible Lie algebras as an analogue of a Lie bialgebra. They can also be regarded as a "compatible version" of Lie bialgebras, that is,a pair of Lie bialgebras such that any linear combination of the two Lie bialgebras is still a Lie bialgebra. Many properties of compatible Lie bialgebras as the "compatible version" of the corresponding properties of Lie bialgebras are presented. In particular, there is a coboundary compatible Lie bialgebra theory with a construction from the classical Yang-Baxter equation in compatible Lie algebras as a combination of two classical Yang-Baxter equations in Lie algebras.Furthermore,a notion of compatible pre-Lie algebra is introduced with an interpretation of its close relation with the classical Yang-Baxter equation in compatible Lie algebras which leads to a construction of the solutions of the latter. As a byproduct, the compatible Lie bialgebras St into the framework to construct non-constant solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation given by Golubchik and Sokolov.  相似文献

We present an axiomatic formulation of a new class of infinitedimensional Lie algebras-the generalizations ofZ-graded Lie algebras with, generally speaking, an infinite-dimensional Cartan subalgebra and a contiguous set of roots. We call such algebras continuum Lie algebras. The simple Lie algebras of constant growth are encapsulated in our formulation. We pay particular attention to the case when the local algebra is parametrized by a commutative algebra while the Cartan operator (the generalization of the Cartan matrix) is a linear operator. Special examples of these algebras are the Kac-Moody algebras, algebras of Poisson brackets, algebras of vector fields on a manifold, current algebras, and algebras with differential or integro-differential cartan operator. The nonlinear dynamical systems associated with the continuum contragredient Lie algebras are also considered.  相似文献

The correspondence between ordinary differential equations and Bethe ansatz equations for integrable lattice models in their continuum limits is generalised to vertex models related to classical simple Lie algebras. New families of pseudo-differential equations are proposed, and a link between specific generalised eigenvalue problems for these equations and the Bethe ansatz is deduced. The pseudo-differential operators resemble in form the Miura-transformed Lax operators studied in work on generalised KdV equations, classical W-algebras and, more recently, in the context of the geometric Langlands correspondence. Negative-dimension and boundary-condition dualities are also observed.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to suggest a general approach to Poisson brackets, based on the study of the Lie algebra of potential operators with respect to closed skew-symmetric bilinear forms. This approach allows to extend easily to infinite-dimensional spaces the classical Cartan geometrical approach developed in the phase space. It supplies a simple, unified, and general formalism to deal with such brackets, which contains, as particular cases, the classical and the quantum treatments.  相似文献

We present the construction of exact complex dynamical invariant of a two-dimensional classical dynamical system on an extended complex space utilizing Lie algebraic approach. These invariants are expected to play a vital role in understanding the complex trajectories of both classical and quantum systems.  相似文献

A simple iterative procedure is suggested for the deformation quantization of (irregular) Poisson brackets associated to the classical Yang–Baxter equation. The construction is shown to admit a pure algebraic reformulation giving the Universal Deformation Formula (UDF) for any triangular Lie bialgebra. A simple proof of classification theorem for inequivalent UDF's is given. As an example the explicit quantization formula is presented for the quasi-homogeneous Poisson brackets on two-plane.  相似文献

We introduce a general notion of quantum universal enveloping algebroids (QUE algebroids), or quantum groupoids, as a unification of quantum groups and star-products. Some basic properties are studied including the twist construction and the classical limits. In particular, we show that a quantum groupoid naturally gives rise to a Lie bialgebroid as a classical limit. Conversely, we formulate a conjecture on the existence of a quantization for any Lie bialgebroid, and prove this conjecture for the special case of regular triangular Lie bialgebroids. As an application of this theory, we study the dynamical quantum groupoid , which gives an interpretation of the quantum dynamical Yang–Baxter equation in terms of Hopf algebroids. A recent quantization rule of Fermi systems starts from the new symmetric brackets of classical mechanics. As a consequence, Fermi and Bose quantization can be put on an equal footing, instead of the standardad hoc procedure. We prove that the rule gives the right anticommutation relations when applied to the case of the relativistic electron. We show that this is a crucial test of the rule. For completeness, Dirac's Hamiltonian mechanics and the plus and minus Dirac bracket formalisms are developed for the electron's field.  相似文献

Dirac’s identification of the quantum analog of the Poisson bracket with the commutator is reviewed, as is the threat of self-inconsistent overdetermination of the quantization of classical dynamical variables which drove him to restrict the assumption of correspondence between quantum and classical Poisson brackets to embrace only the Cartesian components of the phase space vector. Dirac’s canonical commutation rule fails to determine the order of noncommuting factors within quantized classical dynamical variables, but does imply the quantum/classical correspondence of Poisson brackets between any linear function of phase space and the sum of an arbitrary function of only configuration space with one of only momentum space. Since every linear function of phase space is itself such a sum, it is worth checking whether the assumption of quantum/classical correspondence of Poisson brackets for all such sums is still self-consistent. Not only is that so, but this slightly stronger canonical commutation rule also unambiguously determines the order of noncommuting factors within quantized dynamical variables in accord with the 1925 Born-Jordan quantization surmise, thus replicating the results of the Hamiltonian path integral, a fact first realized by E.H. Kerner. Born-Jordan quantization validates the generalized Ehrenfest theorem, but has no inverse, which disallows the disturbing features of the poorly physically motivated invertible Weyl quantization, i.e., its unique deterministic classical “shadow world” which can manifest negative densities in phase space.  相似文献

Derived Brackets   总被引:3,自引:1,他引:2
We survey the many instances of derived bracket construction in differential geometry, Lie algebroid and Courant algebroid theories, and their properties. We recall and compare the constructions of Buttin and of Vinogradov, and we prove that the Vinogradov bracket is the skew-symmetrization of a derived bracket. Odd (resp., even) Poisson brackets on supermanifolds are derived brackets of canonical even (resp., odd) Poisson brackets on their cotangent bundle (resp., parity-reversed cotangent bundle). Lie algebras have analogous properties, and the theory of Lie algebroids unifies the results valid for manifolds on the one hand, and for Lie algebras on the other. We outline the role of derived brackets in the theory of Poisson structures with background'.  相似文献

We consider two different constructions of higher brackets. First, based on a Grassmann-odd, nilpotent Δ operator, we define a non-commutative generalization of the higher Koszul brackets, which are used in a generalized Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra, and we show that they form a homotopy Lie algebra. Secondly, we investigate higher, so-called derived brackets built from symmetrized, nested Lie brackets with a fixed nilpotent Lie algebra element Q. We find the most general Jacobi-like identity that such a hierarchy satisfies. The numerical coefficients in front of each term in these generalized Jacobi identities are related to the Bernoulli numbers. We suggest that the definition of a homotopy Lie algebra should be enlarged to accommodate this important case. Finally, we consider the Courant bracket as an example of a derived bracket. We extend it to the “big bracket” of exterior forms and multi-vectors, and give closed formulas for the higher Courant brackets.  相似文献

We study the local structure of Lie bialgebroids at regular points. In particular, we classify all transitive Lie bialgebroids. In special cases, they are connected to classical dynamical r-matrices and matched pairs induced by Poisson group actions.  相似文献

Abstract

To my friend and colleague K.C. Reddy on occasion of his retirement.

The notion of classical r-matrix is re-examined, and a definition suitable to differential (-difference) Lie algebras, – where the standard definitions are shown to be deficient, – is proposed, the notion of an O-operator. This notion has all the natural properties one would expect form it, but lacks those which are artifacts of finite-dimensional isomorpisms such as not true in differential generality relation End (V ) V ? ? V for a vector space V . Examples considered include a quadratic Poisson bracket on the dual space to a Lie algebra; generalized symplectic-quadratic models of such brackets (aka Clebsch representations); and Drinfel’d’s 2-cocycle interpretation of nondegenate classical r-matrices.  相似文献

For a nonholonomic mechanics system with the action of small disturbance, the Lie symmetrical perturbation and adiabatic invariants of generalized Hojman type are studied under general infinitesimal transformations of groups in which the generalized coordinates and time are variable. On the basis of the invariance of disturbed nonholonomic dynamical equations under general infinitesimal transformations, the determining equations, the constrained restriction equations and the additional restriction equations of Lie symmetries of the system are constructed, which only depend on the variables t, qs and q^.s. Based on the definition of higher-order adiabatic invariants of a mechanical system, the perturbation of Lie symmetries for a nonholonomic system with the action of small disturbance is investigated, and the Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants, the weakly Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants and the strongly Lie symmetrical adiabatic invariants of generalized Hojman type of disturbed nonholonomic systems are obtained. An example is given to illustrate applications of the results.  相似文献
