A series of oligothiophenes containing difluorodioxocyclopentene-annelated thiophene units was synthesized, and their electronic properties and structures were investigated by spectroscopic and electrochemical measurements and X-ray analyses. The oligothiophenes having the terminal difluorodioxocyclopentene annelations showed n-type semiconducting behavior on FET devices, and the quaterthiophene revealed field-effect electron mobility as high as 1.3 x 10(-2) cm2 V(-1) s(-1).  相似文献

The synthesis of difluoromethylene-bridged bithiophene and its oligothiophenes are reported. The spectroscopic and electrochemical measurement as well as X-ray analyses unambiguously revealed that the difluoromethylene bridge largely contributes to keeping planarity between the thiophene rings and lowering the LUMO level. The perfluorohexyl-substituted quaterthiophene derivatives showed n-type semiconducting behavior with field-effect electron mobilities up to 0.018 cm2 V-1 s-1.  相似文献

Synthesis of hexafluorocyclopenta[c]thiophene-repeated oligothiophenes up to 6-mer has been accomplished. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these oligomers unambiguously exemplify marked electronegative character without disrupting the effective conjugation. The combination of time-resolved microwave conductivity and transient optical spectroscopy measurements of the 6-mer revealed the intrinsic electron mobility to be as high as 2.0 x 10(-1) cm(2) V(-1) s(-1).  相似文献

A series of planar beta-linked oligothiophenes based on thieno[3,2-b]thiophene and dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene fused units were synthesized. The optical data indicate a blue shift of the absorption maximum in comparison to the alpha-linked analogues due to cross-conjugation between fused rings. The crystal structures of 3,3'-bi(thieno[3,2-b]thiophene) and 3,3';6',3"-ter(thieno-[3,2-b]thiophene) reveal edge-to-face pi-stacked dimer motifs, whereas the crystal structure of 3,3'-bis(dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene) consists of face-to-face pi-stacked molecules. [structure: see text] Novel thiophene oligomers containing a redox active hexaarylethane unit have been prepared as a new class of molecular wires having a large electrochemical bistability and definitely characterized by using single-crystal X-ray structure analysis and redox potential measurements. They constitute reversible redox pairs with the corresponding bis(thioxanthyl) dications by undergoing C-C bond making/breaking. The intramolecular double cyclization of bis(3-bromo-2-thienyl)acetylenes though a lithium-halogen exchange reaction with tBuLi followed by treatment with elemental sulfur produces two thiophene-fused thieno[3,2-c](1,2-dithiin)s. The subsequent dechalcogenation from the 1,2-dithiins with copper nanopowder affords tetrathienoacenes. On the basis of this two-step procedure, a series of trialkylsilyl-terminated, fused oligothiophenes, including hexathienoacene (a six thiophene-fused system) and octathienoacene (an eight thiophene-fused system), were synthesized. In the UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence spectra of the fused oligothiophenes, the absorption and emission maxima shift to longer wavelengths, as the pi-conjugation length increases. Their maximum wavenumbers have linear relationships with the reciprocal number of thiophene rings consisting of the pi-conjugated frameworks. In the cyclic voltammograms, all the compounds show reversible oxidation waves, the first oxidation potential of which shifts to less positive as the conjugation length increases. Among them, the octathienoacene also shows a reversible second oxidation process. Indeed, its chemical oxidation with an excess amount of NO(+)SbF(6) (-) produces the dication as a golden crystal. The crystal structures of the neutral octathienoacene and its dication were determined by X-ray crystallography. While in the neutral state, the octathienoacene has a benzenoid structure with a large bond alternation of about 0.04 A, its dication has a quinoid structure in which two cationic charges are mainly localized on the terminal rings.  相似文献

3D-conjugated systems based on oligothiophene segments grafted on a phosphorus or on a phosphine oxide node have been synthesized. Under Stille coupling conditions, bromide terminated thienyl phosphine derivatives undergo a breaking of the phosphorus-carbon bond attributed to a ligand exchange with the Pd catalyst. The electronic properties of the new compounds have been analyzed by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of phenyl‐capped oligothiophenes via improved synthetic schemes. These schemes are based on the Grignard coupling reaction and enable us to obtain the target compounds at high yields. The resulting materials have been fully characterized through nmr and ir spectroscopies. The ir analysis is particularly useful in characterizing the materials of higher molecular weight, since those materials are difficult to dissolve in organic solvent. We also show an improvement on preparation of halogenated (oligo)thiophenes that are used as intermediates for synthesizing the target compounds. An alternative synthetic route to the phenyl‐capped oligothiophenes that utilizes the Suzuki coupling reaction is presented as well.  相似文献

We have synthesized new electron-transporting oligothiophenes containing dicyanomethylene-substituted cyclopenta[b]thiophene as an active material for the fabrication of solution-processable n-type organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The influence of the number of dicyanomethylene groups as well as the position of hexyl groups was investigated in detail by performing photophysical and electrochemical measurements. Results revealed that the optical energy gaps and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels can be controlled by changing the number of dicyanomethylene groups. In contrast, the position of hexyl groups has little influence on molecular electronic properties. X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy measurements revealed that spin-coated thin films of the new compounds had a crystalline structure. OFETs based on these compounds were evaluated in vacuum and air-exposed conditions, and the electron mobility of up to 0.016 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) was achieved. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the air stability of the OFETs depends on the LUMO energy level of the compounds.  相似文献

The effect of position and degree of sulfur oxidation on the fundamental properties of a series of planarized thieno[3,2-b]thiophene S,S-dioxides derivatives was studied. The optical data reveal a red shift in the longest wavelength of absorption relative to the nonoxidized analogues that is indicative of a reduced HOMO-LUMO gap. The position of oxidation rather than the extent of oxidation is the most critical factor in controlling electronic properties. Single-crystal analysis reveals that some of the oligothiophene S,S-dioxides studied present pi-pi interactions which are completely absent in the nonoxidized analogue.  相似文献

Calixarene analogs containing a thiophene unit in the macrocyclic ring were prepared by a stepwise method. The macrocycles adopt a cone‐like form as the preferred conformation in solution. The induced chemical shift change, nOe experiment, and 1H relaxation time (T1) measurement supported the fact that the macrocycle forms a complex with the N‐methylpyridinium salt. In contrast, O‐tetramethylated macrocycles and linear phenol‐formaldehyde tetramer, could not efficiently include the N‐methylpyridinium salt.  相似文献

Novel A-D-A type oligothiophenes incorporating benzothiadiazole (BTDA) and thiadiazolopyridine (TDAPy) as terminal acceptor groups have been developed for small molecule organic solar cells (SMSC). In vacuum-processed planar heterojunction solar cells the TDAPy-based oligomer showed a power conversion efficiency of 3.15% and a high fill factor of 0.67.  相似文献

We report the structural and electrical characterization of thin films of organic semiconductor molecules consisting of an oligothiophene core capped with electron-withdrawing tricyanovinyl (TCV) groups. X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy of evaporated films of three different TCV-capped oligothiophenes showed that the films were highly crystalline. Electrical transport was measured in thin film transistors employing silver source and drain contacts and channel probes to correct for contact resistance. Three compounds exhibited n-channel (electron) conduction consistent with cyclic voltametry data that indicated they undergo facile reduction. Maximum electron mobilities were 0.02 cm2/V.s with an on/off current ratio of 10(6). A fourth end-capped molecule, TCV-6T-TCV, which had six thiophene rings, exhibited both p- and n-channel transport. Overall, these results confirm that substitution of oligothiophene cores with electron-withdrawing groups is a useful strategy to achieve electron-transporting materials.  相似文献

Two unsymmetrical squaraines, where the electron-rich 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene or bithiophene conjugated fragment was used to link unconventionally the squaraine core and the hexyloxyphenyl amino group, were applied for DSCs. The combination of materials that possess different properties (such as, for instance, fluorescence and magnetism) into one single object of nanoscale size represents an attractive challenge for biotechnology, especially for their potential relevance in biomedical applications. We report here the preparation of novel bifunctional conjugates based on the linkage of inorganic nanoparticles to organic oligothiophene fluorophores (OTFs). In comparison to the organic dyes commonly used in bioimaging and more similarly to colloidal quantum dots, OTFs have broad optical absorption spectra, and therefore OTF fluorophores emitting at different colors can be excited with a single excitation source, allowing for easier multiplexing analysis. In this work we show the preparation of OTF-nanoparticle conjugates based on gold and iron oxide nanoparticles and their characterization using different techniques such as gel electrophoresis, photoluminescence spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and so on. In addition, by performing an in vitro study on human tumor cells we show that OTF-nanoparticle conjugates emitting at different colors can be used for multiplexing detection. Also, in the case of iron oxide-OTF conjugates, once uptaken by the cells, we show that they preserve both their fluorescent and their magnetic properties.  相似文献

A series of acceptor-donor-acceptor molecules (DCN3T, DCN5T and DCN7T) based on oligothiophenes with low band gap are synthesized. The UV-vis absorption spectra of solution show that the introduction of electron-accepting groups results in a shift of the absorption onset towards longer wavelengths. Moreover, the optical spectra of their films show a large bathochromic shift and broadening of the bands with respect to the spectra in solution. The optical band gaps of film of these A-D-A molecules are 1.90, 1.74 and 1.68 eV, respectively. Cyclic voltammetry shows that all these compounds present a reversible first oxidation process whose potential decreases with the lengthening of oligothiophene cores. Electrochemical band gaps are 2.14, 1.88 and 1.71 eV, respectively.  相似文献

A series of mixed N-substituted alkylpyrrole/thiophene monomers have been synthesised. Several monomers could be electropolymerised to the corresponding polymers. Redox behaviour, spectroscopic and conductivity measurements are reported. Several electroactive films are stable in the dedoped and doped states with conductivity as high as 10 S cm−1.  相似文献
