Hybrid porphyrin tapes 3 and 4 , consisting of a mixture of 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl‐substituted donor‐type ZnII–porphyrins and pentafluorophenyl‐substituted acceptor‐type ZnII–porphyrins, were prepared by a synthetic route involving cross‐condensation reaction of a NiII–porphyrinyldipyrromethane and pentafluorophenyldipyrromethane with pentafluorobenzaldehyde followed by appropriate demetalation, remetalation, and oxidative ring‐closure reaction. The NiII‐substituted porphyrin tapes 5 (Ni‐Zn‐Ni) and 6 (Ni‐H2‐Ni) were also prepared through similar routes. The hybrid porphyrin tapes 3 and 4 are more soluble and more stable than normal porphyrin tapes 1 and 2 consisting of only donor‐type ZnII–porphyrins. The solid‐state and crystal packing structures of 3 , 4 , and 5 were elucidated by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. Singly mesomeso‐linked hybrid porphyrin arrays 12 and 14 exhibit redox potentials that roughly correspond to each constituent porphyrin segments, while the redox potentials of the hybrid porphyrin tapes 3 and 4 are positively shifted as a whole. The two‐photon absorption (TPA) values of 1–6 were measured by using a wavelength‐scanning open aperture Z‐scan method and found to be 1900, 21 000, 2200, 27 000, 24 000, and 26 000 GM, respectively. These results illustrate an important effect of elongation of π‐electron conjugation for the enhancement of TPA values. The hybrid porphyrin tapes show slightly larger TPA values than the parent ones.  相似文献

As the most nucleophilic porphyrins, meso‐ or β‐lithiated porphyrins were generated by iodine–lithium exchange reactions of the corresponding iodoporphyrins with n‐butyllithium at ?98 °C. Porphyrinyllithiums thus prepared were used for synthesis of dimesitylporphyrinylboranes through reactions with fluorodimesitylborane. The boryl groups proved to serve as an electron‐accepting unit to alter the photophysical and electrochemical properties. In addition, 5‐diarylamino‐15‐dimesitylboryl‐substituted donor–accepter porphyrins showed increased intramolecular charge‐transfer character in the S1 state. Furthermore, the reaction of β‐lithiated porphyrin with dichloromesitylborane provided a boron‐bridged porphyrin dimer, which exhibited a conjugative interaction between two porphyrin units through the vacant p‐orbital on the boron center.  相似文献

A series of meta‐substituted fatty acid octaester derivatives and their transition‐metal complexes of meso‐ tetraphenyl porphyrins (TPP‐8OOCR, with R=Cn?1H2n?1, n=8, 12, or 16) have been prepared through very simple synthesis protocols. The thermotropic phase behavior and the liquid crystalline (LC) organization structures of the synthesized porphyrin derivatives were systematically investigated by a combination of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM), and variable‐temperature small‐angle X‐ray scattering/wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS) techniques. The shorter octanoic acid ester substituted porphyrin (C8‐TPP) did not show liquid crystallinity and its metal porphyrins exhibited an uncommon columnar mesophase. The lauric acid octaester (C12‐TPP) and the palmitic acid octaester (C16‐TPP) series porphyrins generated hexagonal columnar mesophase Colh. Moreover, the metal porphyrins C12‐TPPM and C16‐TPPM with M=Zn, Cu, or Ni, exhibited well‐organized Colh mesophases of broad LC temperature ranges increasing in the order of TPPNi<TPPCu≤TPPZn with their increased effective ionic radii in the square‐planar coordination. The simplicity in synthesis, the well intercolumnar organization of Colh mesophase, the broadness of the discotic LC range, and the specific UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence emission behaviors make the symmetrically substituted fatty acid octaester porphyrins and their metal complexes very attractive for variant applications.  相似文献

The efficacy of carbon‐bridged oligo(phenylenevinylenes)s (COPVs) as light‐harvesting antenna for porphyrins is demonstrated using a series of 5,15‐di‐COPVn‐substituted free‐base and zinc porphyrins, COPVn‐MP‐COPVn (n=1–3, M=H2, Zn). These molecules were synthesized by Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions of COPVn‐Bpin and Br‐H2P‐Br . The absorption spectra of these compounds in solution show a significant expansion of the Soret band region together with a bathochromic shift of the Q band, suggesting a significant interaction between these chromophores in the ground state. The photoluminescence quantum yield of the porphyrin‐COPV conjugates is enhanced up to four times relative to the parent porphyrins. Theoretical calculations also indicated interactions between these chromophores in the HOMO, which suggests that the light‐harvesting ability stems from the expansion of the π‐electron‐conjugation system.  相似文献

New hybrid porphyrin tapes comprising meso‐3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl‐substituted ZnII‐porphyrins ( D ) and meso‐pentafluorophenyl‐substituted ZnII‐porphyrins ( A ) were synthesized via cross‐condensation of meso‐formyl porphyrins 1 , 5 , and 9 with oligopyrromethanes 2 and 6 as key steps. These hybrid tapes exhibit improved solubilities and enhanced chemical stability as compared with original Dn porphyrin tapes, and all display remarkably coplanar structures favorable for π‐conjugation. The absorption spectrum of ADDA displays Q‐like bands at 1400 and 1657 nm with a vibronic structure characteristic of porphyrinoids. The cyclic voltammograms exhibited positively shifted oxidation and reduction waves in the order of DDD < DAD < ADA < AAA . Tetrameric tape ADDA displays five reversible waves in a narrow range of 1.13 V. Two‐photon absorption (TPA) measurement confirmed that the π‐conjugation path is extended from 12 to ADDA and the molecular polarizability of ADA is larger than that of AAA .  相似文献

The features of porphyrins defining their functionality are related to their conformational flexibility. The degree of nonplanarity of metalloporphyrins depends directly on the number of substituents, their size and their location. The introduction of substituents in the meso positions of β‐substituted porphyrins increases the steric interaction and leads to distortions of the porphyrin core. Increasing the distortion of the porphyrin core would augment the bathochromic (red) shift of the electronic absorption spectra. A new nonsymmetrical 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18‐octaethyl‐5‐[(methylimino)methyl]porphyrin complex of palladium(II), [Pd(C38H47N5)], was synthesized and characterized by NMR, mass spectrometry and X‐ray analysis. The features of the electronic absorption spectrum of the synthesized complex are explained by the planarity of the porphyrin core and the π‐system of the imino group orthogonal to it.  相似文献

Silylation of peripherally lithiated porphyrins with silyl electrophiles has realized the first synthesis of a series of directly silyl‐substituted porphyrins. The meso‐silyl group underwent facile protodesilylation, whereas the β‐silyl group was entirely compatible with standard work‐up and purification on silica gel. The meso‐silyl group caused larger substituent effects to the porphyrin compared with the β‐silyl group. Silylation of β‐lithiated porphyrins with 1,2‐dichlorodisilane furnished β‐to‐β disilane‐bridged porphyrin dimers. A doubly β‐to‐β disilane‐bridged NiII‐porphyrin dimer was also synthesized from a β,β‐dilithiated NiII‐porphyrin and characterized by X‐ray crystallographic analysis to take a steplike structure favorable for interporphyrinic interaction. Denickelation of βsilylporphyrins was achieved upon treatment with a 4‐tolylmagnesium bromide to yield the corresponding freebase porphyrins.  相似文献

The self‐assembly properties of two ZnII porphyrin isomers on Cu(111) are studied at different coverage by means of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Both isomers are substituted in their meso‐positions by two voluminous 3,5‐di(tert‐butyl)phenyl and two rod‐like 4′‐cyanobiphenyl groups, respectively. In the trans‐isomer, the two 4′‐cyanobiphenyl groups are opposite to each other, whereas they are located at right angle in the cis‐isomer. For coverage up to one monolayer, the cis‐substituted porphyrins self‐assemble to form oligomeric macrocycles held together by antiparallel CN???CN dipolar interactions and CN???H‐C(sp2) hydrogen bonding. Cyclic trimers and tetramers occur most frequently but everything from cyclic dimers to hexamers can be observed. Upon annealing of the samples at temperatures >150 °C, dimeric macrocyclic structures are observed, in which the two porphyrins are bridged by Cu atoms, originating from the surface, under formation of two CN???Cu???NC coordination bonds. The trans‐isomer builds up linear chains on Cu(111) at low coverage, whereas for higher coverage the molecules assemble in a periodic, densely packed structure. Both cis‐ and trans‐bis(4′‐cyanobiphenyl)‐substituted ZnII porphyrins behave very differently on Cu(111) compared to similar porphyrins in literature on less reactive surfaces such as Au(111) and Ag(111). On the latter surfaces, there is no signal visible between molecular orientation and the crystal directions of the substrate, whereas on Cu(111), very strong adsorbate–substrate interactions have a dominating influence on all observed structures. This strong porphyrin–substrate interaction enables a much broader variety of structures, including also less favorable intermolecular bonding motifs and geometries.  相似文献

A series of N‐confused free‐base meso‐substituted tetraarylporphyrins was investigated by electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry in nonaqueous media containing 0.1 M tetra‐n‐butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) and added acid or base. The investigated compounds are represented as (XPh)4NcpH2, in which “Ncp” is the N‐confused porphyrin macrocycle and X is a OCH3, CH3, H, or Cl substituent on the para position of each meso‐phenyl ring of the macrocycle. Two distinct types of UV/Vis spectra are initially observed depending upon solvent, one corresponding to an inner‐2H form and the other to an inner‐3H form of the porphyrin. Both forms have an inverted pyrrole with a carbon inside the cavity and a nitrogen on the periphery of the π‐system. Each porphyrin undergoes multiple irreversible reductions and oxidations. The first one‐electron addition and first one‐electron abstraction are located on the porphyrin π‐ring system to give π‐anion and π‐cation radicals with a potential separation of 1.52 to 1.65 V between the two processes, but both electrogenerated products are unstable and undergo a rapid chemical reaction to give new electroactive species, which were characterized in the present study. The effect of the solvent and protonation/deprotonation reactions on the UV/Vis spectra, redox potentials and reduction/oxidation mechanisms is discussed with comparisons made to data and mechanisms for the structurally related free‐base corroles and porphyrins.  相似文献

Nanoscaled coordination polymers based on biologically prevalent ions have potential applications in drug delivery and biomedical imaging. Herein, coordination polymer nanoparticles of anionic porphyrins, including meso‐tetra(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐porphyrin (H2TCPP4?) and meso‐tetra(4‐sulfonatophenyl)‐porphyrin (H2TPPS4?), and alkaline or alkaline earth metal cations, such as K+ and Ca2+, were constructed in aqueous solution in the presence of cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) or cucurbit[8]uril (CB8). UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were applied to explore the assembly and particle formation of porphyrin anions and metal cations mediated by CBn. The particle size depends on the kinds of CBn and metal cations and their concentrations. The uptake of H2TPPS4? particles by tumor cells (A549 cells) was found to be more efficient than H2TPPS4? at 37 °C, showing the application potential of such assembled particles in biology and medicine.  相似文献

Self‐assembled porphyrins via noncovalent bonding have attracted wide‐ranging researchers in material science. We reported herein the synthesis of the tetraphenyl porphyrin derivatives bearing uracyl groups as acceptor–donor–acceptor (ADA) type hydrogen bonding units, through the condensation of 5,10‐ or 5,15‐bis (3‐amino‐4‐ethylhexylphenyl) porphyrin derivatives with 6‐carboxyuracyl derivatives. When two porphyrins having uracyl groups at the different substituted positions were respectively mixed with a melamine derivative in benzene, 1H NMR spectra showed that the 5,15 substituted uracyl porphyrin formed a hydrogen‐bonded suprastructure with the melamine derivative as a complementary molecule to the uracyl moiety, although the other 5,10‐substituted uracylporphyrin could not form such a structure. The SEM observation indicated that the mixture with the 5,15‐substituted uracyl porphyrin and the melamine with long alkyl chains formed a sheet‐like structure. The Gram‐negative Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Fusobacterium nucleatum are major causative agents of aggressive periodontal disease. Due to increase in the number of antibiotic‐resistant bacteria, antimicrobial Photodynamic therapy (aPDT) seems to be a plausible alternative. In this work, photosensitization was performed on Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria in pure culture using new‐age cationic porphyrins, namely mesoimidazolium‐substituted porphyrin derivative ( ImP ) and pyridinium‐substituted porphyrin derivative ( PyP ). The photophysical properties of both the sensitizers including absorption, fluorescence emission, quantum yields of the triplet excited states and singlet oxygen generation efficiencies were evaluated in the context of aPDT application. The studied porphyrins exhibited high ability to accumulate into bacterial cells with complete penetration into early stage biofilms. As compared with ImP, PyP was found to be more effective for photoinactivation of bacterial strains associated with periodontitis, without any signs of dark toxicity, owing to its high photocytotoxicity.  相似文献

Trifluoroacetic acid‐catalyzed condensation of pyrrole with electron‐deficient and sterically hindered 3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde results in the unexpected production of a series of meso‐3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl‐substituted expanded porphyrins including [22]sapphyrin 2 , N‐fused [22]pentaphyrin 3 , [26]hexaphyrin 4 , and intact [32]heptaphyrin 5 together with the conventional 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)porphyrin 1 . These expanded porphyrins are characterized by mass spectrometry, 1H NMR spectroscopy, UV/Vis/NIR absorption spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. The optical and electrochemical measurements reveal a decrease in the HOMO–LUMO gap with increasing size of the conjugated macrocycles, and in accordance with the trend, the deactivation of the excited singlet state to the ground state is enhanced.  相似文献

Main‐group complexes are shown to be viable electrocatalysts for the H2‐evolution reaction (HER) from acid. A series of antimony porphyrins with varying axial ligands were synthesized for electrocatalysis applications. The proton‐reduction catalytic properties of TPSb(OH)2 (TP=5,10,15,20‐tetra(p ‐tolyl)porphyrin) with two axial hydroxy ligands were studied in detail, demonstrating catalytic H2 production. Experiments, in conjunction with quantum chemistry calculations, show that the catalytic cycle is driven via the redox activity of both the porphyrin ligand and the Sb center. This study brings insight into main group catalysis and the role of redox‐active ligands during catalysis.  相似文献

Novel meso‐ or β‐derivatized porphyrins with a carboxyl group have been designed and synthesized for use as sensitizers in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The position and nature of a bridge connecting the porphyrin ring and carboxylic acid group show significant influences on the spectral, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties of these sensitizers. Absorption spectra of porphyrins with a phenylethynyl bridge show that both Soret and Q bands are red‐shifted with respect to those of porphyrin 6 . This phenomenon is more pronounced for porphyrins 3 and 4 , which have a π‐conjugated electron‐donating group at the meso position opposite the anchoring group. Upon introduction of an ethynylene group at the meso position, the potential at the first oxidation alters only slightly whereas that for the first reduction is significantly shifted to the positive, thus indicating a decreased HOMO–LUMO gap. Quantum‐chemical (DFT) results support the spectroelectrochemical data for a delocalization of charge between the porphyrin ring and the amino group in the first oxidative state of diarylamino‐substituted porphyrin 5 , which exhibits the best photovoltaic performance among all the porphyrins under investigation. From a comparison of the cell performance based on the same TiO2 films, the devices made of porphyrin 5 coadsorbed with chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) on TiO2 in ratios [ 5 ]/[CDCA]=1:1 and 1:2 have efficiencies of power conversion similar to that of an N3 ‐based DSSC, which makes this green dye a promising candidate for colorful DSSC applications.  相似文献

A technique is described wherein substituent-dependent excited-state properties of gas-phase porphyrins can be accurately quantified. Dissociation lifetimes of photoexcited porphyrin cations were measured in an electrostatic ion storage ring. From these data, upper limits for the triplet quantum yield of the following protonated porphyrins were obtained: protoporphyrin IX (0.63 +/- 0.04), tetraphenylporphyrin (0.73 +/- 0.03), tetra(p-methylphenyl)porphyrin (0.75 +/- 0.03), and tetra(p-cyanophenyl)porphyrin (0.71 +/- 0.03). The values compare well with those for porphyrins in solution.  相似文献

A series of planar and nonplanar free‐base β‐pyrrole substituted meso‐tetraarylporphyrins were characterized by electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and protonation or deprotonation reactions in neutral, acidic, and basic solutions of CH2Cl2. The neutral compounds are represented as H2(P), in which P represents a porphyrin dianion with one of several different sets of electron‐withdrawing or ‐donating substituents at the messo and/or β‐pyrrole positions of the macrocycle. The conversion of H2(P) to [H4(P)]2+ in CH2Cl2 was accomplished by titration of the neutral porphyrin with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) while the progress of the protonation was monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy, which was also used to calculate logβ2 for proton addition to the core nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle. Cyclic voltammetry was performed after each addition of TFA or TBAOH to CH2Cl2 solutions of the porphyrin and half‐wave potentials for reduction were evaluated as a function of the added acid or base concentration. Thin‐layer spectroelectrochemistry was used to obtain UV/Vis spectra of the neutral and protonated or deprotonated porphyrins under the application of an applied reducing potential. The magnitude of the protonation constants, the positions of λmax in the UV/Vis spectra and the half‐wave or peak potentials for reduction are then related to the electronic properties of the porphyrin and the data evaluated as a function of the planarity or nonplanarity of the porphyrin macrocycle. Surprisingly, the electroreduction of the diprotonated nonplanar porphyrins in acid media leads to H2(P), whereas the nonplanar H2(P) derivatives are reduced to [(P)]2? in CH2Cl2 containing 0.1 M tetra‐n‐butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP). Thus, in both cases an electrochemically initiated deprotonation is observed.  相似文献

Two types of β‐ functionalized (mono nitrated and perbrominated) meso tetrakis(5‐halothien‐;2‐yl)porphyrins, which can be used as precursors for the synthesis of other asymmetric and highly substituted porphyrins, have been synthesised and characterized. Introduction of a nitro group at the β‐ position shifted soret band 11–16 nm to the red region and redox potentials to > 170 mV for oxidation and > 250 mV for reduction anodically. Perbromination of halothienylporphyrins lead to enhanced bathochromically shifted uv‐visible spectral bands, but had only marginal influence on oxidation potentials. Effect of mono nitro group and eight bromo groups on the electronic properties of the porphyrins is attributed, respectively to, the electron deficiency created in the porphyrin π‐ system and the nonplanar conformation induced by the bulky bromo groups.  相似文献

New opp‐dibenzoporphyrins were prepared in a concise method that was based on a Pd0‐catalyzed cascade reaction. These porphyrins, which contained carboxylic‐acid linker groups on benzene rings that were fused to the porphyrin at their β,β′‐positions, were examined as sensitizers for dye‐sensitized solar cells for the first time. Whereas all of the porphyrins showed solar‐energy‐to‐electricity conversion, an opp‐dibenzoporphyrin with conjugated carboxylic‐acid linkers displayed the highest conversion efficiency and an exceptionally high Jsc value. Cyclic voltammetry of these porphyrins suggested that the fusion of two aromatic benzene rings onto the periphery of the porphyrin lowered the HOMO–LUMO energy gap; the incorporation of a conjugated carboxylic‐acid linker group decreased the HOMO–LUMO gap even further. These CV data are consistent with DFT calculations for these porphyrins and agree well with the UV/Vis absorption‐ and fluorescence spectra of these porphyrins.  相似文献
