The lattice Schwinger model with SLAC fermions is analyzed with two methods: a Hartree-Fock calculation of the ground state wave function, and a weak coupling approximation involving a truncated SLAC derivative. It is shown that a Goldstone boson of chiral symmetry is actually present, but in the weak coupling limit it acquires infinite velocity.  相似文献

An algorithm for Monte Carlo simulation of lattice gauge theories with fermions is presented. The method is applied to the Schwinger model with two flavors of massless fermions, formulated on a two-dimensional euclidean lattice. Preliminary results of the Monte Carlo iteration of this system are presented, with special emphasis on the behavior of the Wilson loop and bilocal chiral correlation functions such as ψ(1 + γ5)ψ(x)ψ(1 ? γ5)ψ(y)〉.  相似文献

We extend the classification of neutrino oscillations to include mirror neutrinos. Besides the traditional first- and second- class oscillations we define a third class: lepton number conserving oscillations within one flavour, or neutrino/mirror-neutrino oscillations. Signatures for different oscillation schemes in charged and neutral current processes of the oscillated neutrinos are described.  相似文献

We present a minimal extension of the standard electroweak model, which accommodates mirror fermions, based onSU(2)×U(1)×U(1). Mirror mixing happens through sterile neutrino states and induces radiative mixing for charged leptons. Quarks and mirror quarks are not mixed with each other, consistent with the suppression of flavour changing neutral currents. Higgs sector, fermion masses and neutral currents are discussed. In this scheme there can be a secondZ boson as light as 0.2TeV.  相似文献

Spontaneously broken mirror symmetry is able to reproduce observed qualitative properties of weak mixing for quark and leptons. Under conditions of broken mirror symmetry, the phenomenology of leptons—that is, small neutrino masses and a mixing character other than that in the case of quarks—requires the Dirac character of the neutrinos and the existence of processes violating the total lepton number. Such processes involve heavy mirror neutrinos; that is, they proceed at very high energies. Here, CP violation implies that a P-even mirror-symmetric Lagrangian must simultaneously be T-odd and, according to the CPT theorem, C-odd. All these properties create preconditions for the occurrence of leptogenesis, which is a mechanism of the emergence of the baryon–lepton asymmetry of the universe in models featuring broken mirror symmetry.  相似文献

针对目前超宽谱短脉冲电场测量传感器标定问题,研制了以镜面单锥结构为核心的超宽谱短脉冲电场标准装置,用于超宽谱短脉冲测量传感器校准。该标准装置内部的电场分布可基于结构参数、麦克斯韦方程及激励脉冲解析给出。通过理论分析和数值分析验证了该技术路线的可行性。完成了标准装置的机械工艺设计及加工,并进行了测试。测试结果表明:研制的标准装置在馈电处电压反射系数小于4%;内部电场波形与激励波形一致,且电场幅度分布与严格理论结果偏差小于6%。  相似文献

The Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation in the ladder approximation is studied within a fermion theory: two fermion fields (constituents) with mass m interacting via an exchange of a scalar field with mass μ. The BS equation can be written in the form of an integral equation in the configuration Euclidean x-space with the symmetric kernel K for which Tr K 2 = ∞ due to the singular character of the fermion propagator. This kernel is represented in the form K = K 0 + K I . The operator K 0 with Tr K 0 2 = ∞ is of the “fall at the center” potential type and describes a continuous spectrum only. Besides the presence of this operator leads to a restriction on the value of the coupling constant. The kernel K I with Tr K I 2 < ∞ is responsible for bound fermion-fermion states. It is shown that this bound state is absent in the pseudoscalar mesodynamics and does exist in the scalar mesodynamics. A comparison with the non-relativistic Schr?dinger picture is made. The hopping-parameter expansion method is used to study the Euclidean lattice Schwinger model with Wilson fermions. The effect of virtual fermion loops is also analyzed. The relation between the \(\bar \psi \psi\) operators in the continuum and on the lattice is constructed. Our result shows satisfactory scaling behavior and reproduces well the exactly calculable value for the fermion condensate in the continuum.  相似文献

The σ-model with Wilson fermions is considered in one-loop lattice perturbation theory and in the hopping-parameter expansion at large bare couplings. Chiral-symmetry restoration in the large cut-off limit of perturbation theory is only possible if asymmetric counterterms are added to the lattice action. Wilson's action for fermions on a lattice is compared to the continuum action in a model obtained from the chiral Gross-Neveu model by performing a chiral transformation. The local definition of the axial current leads to two anomalies unrelated by the constraint of Lorentz invariance. In the large-N limit, the mass counterterm of the action is determined; this term is unnecessary in the Osterwalder-Seiler regularization. An expansion in the fermion propagator and in the axial current coupling may be formulated and summed to all orders for large N.  相似文献
