An adiabatic hot dusty plasma (containing non-inertial adiabatic electron and ion fluids, and negatively charged inertial adiabatic dust fluid) is considered. The basic properties of arbitrary amplitude dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves, which exist in such an adiabatic hot dusty plasma, are explicitly examined by the pseudo-potential approach. To compare the basic properties (critical Mach number, amplitude and width) of the DA solitary waves observed in a dusty plasma containing adiabatic electron, ion and dust fluids with those observed in a dusty plasma containing isothermal electron and ion fluids and adiabatic dust fluid, it has been found that the adiabatic effect of inertia-less electron and ion fluids has significantly modified the basic properties of the DA solitary waves, and that on the basic properties of the DA solitary waves, the adiabatic effect of electron and ion fluids is much more significant than that of the dust fluid.  相似文献

The basic features of obliquely propagating dust ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary waves in a hot adiabatic magnetized dusty plasma (containing adiabatic inertia-less electrons, adiabatic inertial ions, and negatively charged static dust) have been investigated. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation which admits a small amplitude solitary wave solution. The combined effects of plasma particle (electron and ion) adiabaticity, ion-dust collision, and external magnetic field (obliqueness), which are found to significantly modify the basic features of the small but finite-amplitude DIA solitary waves are explicitly examined. The implications of our results in space and laboratory dusty plasmas are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Properties of nonplanar (viz. cylindrical and spherical) dust ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary and shock waves propagating in a dusty plasma containing charge fluctuating stationary dust, inertial warm ions, and non-isothermal electrons following a vortex-like distribution, are investigated by the reductive perturbation method. It has been shown that all the basic features of the DIA solitary and shock waves are significantly modified by the effects of vortex-like electron distribution, dust charge fluctuation, and nonplanar cylindrical and spherical geometries. The implications of our results in some space and laboratory dusty plasma environments are briefly discussed.  相似文献

A fluid analysis of the excitation of dust ion-acoustic (DIA) waves in a collisional dusty plasma is presented. The DIA waves are excited by a relative drift of the electrons and ions produced by a steady-state electric field applied to the plasma. The DIA instability is more easily excited if the relative concentration of negatively charged dust is increased  相似文献

The effect of deviations from isothermality of ions on arbitrary amplitude dust-acoustic solitary structures is studied in an unmagnetized dusty plasma which consists of a negative charged dust fluid, free electrons and hot ions obeying a trapped distribution. For the finite deviation from isothermality of ions, the basic properties of large amplitude solitary waves are studied by employing pseudo-potential approach. It is shown that the effect of such ion behavior changes the maximum values of the Mach number and the amplitude for which solitary wave can exist. For the case that the deviation from isothermality due to nonlinear resonant particle effects is small, calculations by reductive perturbation method leads to a generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation with mixed nonlinearity. The latter admits a stationary dust-acoustic solitary solution with similar width and qualitatively different amplitude in comparison to the case that deviations from isothermality are finite. Furthermore, effects of the equilibrium free electron density and such trapped ions on the amplitude of solitary structures imply a non-uniform transition from the Boltzmann ion distribution to the trapped ion one.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made of nonlinear propagation of ultra-low-frequency electromagnetic waves in a magnetized two fluid (negatively charged dust and positively charged ion fluids) dusty plasma. These are modified Alfvén waves for small value of and are modified magnetosonic waves for large , where is the angle between the directions of the external magnetic field and the wave propagation. A nonlinear evolution equation for the wave magnetic field, which is known as Korteweg de Vries (K-dV) equation and which admits a stationary solitary wave solution, is derived by the reductive perturbation method. The effects of external magnetic field and dust characteristics on the amplitude and the width of these solitary structures are examined. The implications of these results to some space and astrophysical plasma systems, especially to planetary ring-systems, are briefly mentioned. A dusty plasma system consisting of electrons, ions, and negative as well as positive dust particles has been considered. The basic properties of arbitrary amplitude solitary potential structures that may exist in such a multi-component dusty plasma have been theoretically investigated by the pseudo-potential approach. It has been found that the presence of additional positive dust component does not only significantly modify the basic properties of solitary potential structures, but also causes the coexistence of positive and negative solitary potential structures, which is a completely new feature shown in a dusty plasma with dust of opposite polarity.  相似文献

Study of dust ion acoustic waves in a magnetized dusty plasmas composed of negatively or positively charged static dust, positive and negative ions, as well as kappa distribution electrons is presented. The Zakharov–Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived via reductive perturbation technique. The solitary wave solution of ZK equation is given and the multi-dimensional instability of these solitary waves is investigated via small k perturbation method. The instability criterion and growth rate relying on obliqueness, superthermality, positive ion thermal pressure, relative ion number density, magnetic field strength, and direction cosines are discussed for five cases. The results are beneficial to understand different nonlinear characteristics of unstable electrostatic disturbances in laboratory and space plasmas.  相似文献

The properties of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitons in an unmagnetized dusty plasma, whose constituents are adiabatic ion-fluid, Boltzmann electrons, and static dust particles, are investigated by employing the reductive perturbation method. The Korteweg-de Vries equation is derived and its stationary solution is numerically analyzed. The parametric regimes for the existence of positive and negative solitons are found. It has been shown that ion-fluid temperature not only significantly modifies the basic features (width and amplitude) of DIA solitons, but also introduces some new features of DIA solitons.   相似文献

In this paper, we study the head-on collision between two dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitons in quantum electron-dust-ion plasma. Using the extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo (PLK) method, we obtain the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equations, the phase shifts and the trajectories after the head-on collision of the two DIA solitons. We investigate the effect of quantum diffraction parameters for electrons and ions (H e, H i), the Fermi temperature ratio (σ) and the dust charged number density (n d0) on the phase shifts. Different values of μ?=?z d0(n d0/n i0) and μ d?=?z d0(m i/m d) are taken to discuss the effects on phase shifts, where z d0 denotes the dust charge number, n j0 represents the equilibrium number density and m j is the mass of the jth species (j?=?e, i, d for electrons, ions and dust particles, respectively). It is observed that the phase shifts are significantly affected by the plasma parameters.  相似文献

The formation of dust-ion-acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs), and their basic properties in a magnetized dusty plasma system containing inertial, hot positively and negatively charged ion fluids, κ-distributed superthermal electrons, and negatively charged stationary dust species are investigated theoretically. An ambient magnetic field is assumed along z-direction, and the wave propagation is considered obliquely to the direction of that ambient magnetic field. Two types of modes, the fast and the slow modes, are shown to exist in the linear regime. The reductive perturbation method (which is valid for small but finite amplitude DIASWs) as well as pseudo-potential approach (which is valid for arbitrary amplitude DIASWs) are employed to identify the basic properties of the DIASWs. The effects of key plasma composition parameters, namely the superthermality effect of electrons, the temperature of positive and negative ions, the number density of positive and negative ions, on the dynamics of small amplitude as well as on large amplitude DIASWs, are investigated. The influence of the obliquity parameter and the magnetic field on the propagation characteristics of DIASWs are also examined.  相似文献

The effect of higher-order nonlinearity on dust acoustic solitary waves is studied taking into account the dust-charge variation. The model of charge fluctuation, taken here, is of the formI e+I i=0,I e andI i being the electronic and ionic currents. The dust charge is determined self consistently from the current-balance equation. It is found that the higher-order correction modifies the amplitude and width of the dust acoustic solitary waves. The effect of dust-charge streaming is also discussed.  相似文献

Effects of nonadiabaticity of variable dust charge, dust fluid temperature, trapped electrons as well as nonisothermality of ions on the amplitude modulation of dust acoustic waves in an unmagnetized dusty plasma are investigated. A modified nonlinear Schr?dinger equation (NLSE) is obtained by the standard reductive perturbation technique and is solved numerically by the split-step Fourier method. The modulational instability and the envelope solitary wave structure are found to be modified somewhat by the effects of nonthermally distributed ions and trapped electrons.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of small amplitude dust‐acoustic (DA) solitary waves in magnetized dusty plasma consisting of negatively charged mobile dust fluid, and Boltzmann‐distributed electrons and ions with two distinct temperatures following a q‐nonextensive distribution are investigated. In this article, a number of nonlinear equations, namely, the Korteweg–de‐Vries (K‐dV) equations, have been derived by employing the reductive perturbation technique that is valid for a small but finite amplitude limit. The effects of nonextensivity of ions with two distinct temperatures and dust concentration on the amplitude and width of DA solitary waves are investigated theoretically. It is observed that both the nonextensive and low‐temperatures ions significantly modify the basic properties and polarities of DA solitary waves. It is shown that both positive and negative potential DA solitons occur in this case. The implications of these results to some astrophysical environments and space plasmas (e.g., stellar polytropes, peculiar velocity distributions of galaxies, and collisionless thermal plasma), and laboratory dusty plasma systems are briefly mentioned.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ultra-low-frequency dust-acoustic (DA) waves in a strongly coupled cryogenic dusty plasma has been investigated, by using the Boltzmann distributed electrons and ions, as well as modified hydrodynamic equations for strongly coupled charged dust grains. The reductive perturbation technique is used to derive the Burger equation. It is shown that strong correlations among negatively charged dust particles acts like a dissipation, which is responsible for the formation of the DA shock waves. The latter are associated with the negative potential, i.e. with the compression of negatively charged cryogenic dust particle density. It is also found that the effective dust-temperature, which arises from electrostatic interactions among negatively charged dust particles, significantly affects the height of the DA shock structures. New laboratory experiments at cryogenic temperature should be conducted to verify our theoretical prediction.  相似文献

Cylindrical and spherical (nonplanar) solitary waves (SWs) and double layers (DLs) in a multi-ion plasma system (containing inertial positively as well as negatively charged ions, non-inertial degenerate electrons, and negatively charged static dust) are studied by employing the standard reductive perturbation method. The modified Gardner (MG) equation describing the nonlinear propagation of the dust ion-acoustic (DIA) waves is derived, and its nonplanar SWs and DLs solutions are numerically analyzed. The parametric regimes for the existence of SWs, which are associated with both positive and negative potential, and DLs which are associated with negative potential, are obtained. The basic features of nonplanar DIA SWs, and DLs, which are found to be different from planar ones, are also identified.  相似文献

The basic properties of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) shock waves in an unmagnetized dusty plasma (containing inertial ions, kappa distributed electrons with two distinct temperatures, and negatively charged immobile dust grains) are investi- gated both numerically and analytically. The hydrodynamic equation for inertial ions has been used to derive the Burgers equation. The effects of superthermal bi-kappa electrons and ion kinematic viscosity, which are found to modify the basic features of DIA shock waves significantly, are briefly discussed.  相似文献

By using reductive perturbation method, the nonlinear propagation of dust-acoustic waves in a dusty plasma (containing a negatively charged dust fluid, Boltzmann distributed electrons and two-temperature nonthermal ions) is investigated. The effects of two-temperature nonthermal ions on the basic properties of small but finite amplitude nonlinear dust-acoustic waves are examined. It is found that two-temperature nonthermal ions affect the basic properties of the dust-acoustic solitary waves. It is also observed that only compressive solitary waves exist in this system.  相似文献

The properties of dust–ion acoustic (DIA) shock wave in a dusty plasma containing positive and negative ions is investigated. The reductive perturbation method has been used to derive the Korteweg–de Vries–Burgers equation for dust acoustic shock waves in a homogeneous, unmagnetized and collisionless plasma whose constituents are Boltzmann distributed electrons, singly charged positive ions, singly charged negative ions and cold static dust particles. The KdV–Burgers equation is derived and its stationary analytical solution is numerically analyzed where the effect of viscosity on the DIA shock wave propagation is taken into account. It is found that the viscosity in the dusty plasma plays as a key role in dissipation for the propagation of DIA shock.  相似文献

The quantum hydrodynamic model is employed to study the nonlinear structure of non-planar dust acoustic waves in quantum dusty plasmas consisting of electrons, ions, and negatively/positively charged dust particles. A Kadomstev-Petviashvili equation is derived in cylindrical geometry. Based on the analytical solution, it is found that the Nebulon structure is significantly modified by the quantum effects including quantum diffraction effect and quantum statistical effect.  相似文献
