A dusty plasma system containing Boltzmann electrons, mobile ions and charge fluctuating stationary dust has been considered. The nonlinear propagation of the dust-ion-acoustic waves in such a dusty plasma has been investigated by employing the reductive perturbation method. It has been shown that the dust charge fluctuation is a source of dissipation and is responsible for the formation of the dust-ion-acoustic shock waves. The basic features of such dust-ion-acoustic shock waves have been identified. The implications of our results in space and laboratory dusty plasmas are discussed. 相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of dust ion-acoustic (DIA) shock waves is studied in a charge varying dusty plasma with electrons having kappa velocity distribution. We use hot ions with equilibrium streaming speed and a fast superthermal electron charging current derived from orbit limited motion (OLM) theory. It is found that the presence of superthermal electrons does not only significantly modify the basic properties of shock waves, but also causes the existence of shock profile with only positive potential in such plasma with parameter ranges corresponding to Saturn?s rings. It is also shown that the strength and steepness of the shock waves decrease with increase of the size of dust grains and ion temperature. 相似文献

The effects of dust size distribution and dust charge fluctuation of dust grains on the small but finite amplitude nonlinear dust ion-acoustic shock waves, in an unmagnetized multi-ion dusty plasma which contains negative ions, positive ions and electrons, are studied in this paper. A Burgers equation and its stationary solutions are obtained by using the reductive perturbation method. The analytical and numerical results show that the height with polynomial dust size distribution is larger than that of the monosized dusty plasmas with the same dust grains, but the thickness in the case of different dust grains is smaller than that of the monosized dusty plasmas. Furthermore, the moving speed of the shock waves also depend on different dust size distributions. 相似文献

This paper investigates the propagation of linear dust acoustic waves in inhomogeneous dusty plasmas due to spatial gradients of dust charge, plasma densities. A linear dispersion relation is obtained with the non-adiabatic dust charge iguctuation and the non-thermally distributed ions. The numerical results show that the inhomogeneity, nonthermal ions and non-adlabatic dust charge iguctuatlon have strong iniguence on the frequency and the damping rate of waves. 相似文献

In a dusty plasma, the non-adiabaticity of the charge variation on a dust grain surface results in an anomalous dissipation.
Analytical investigation shows that this results in a small but finite amplitude dust acoustic (DA) wave propagation which
is described by the Korteweg-de Vries-Burger equation. Results of the numerical investigation of the propagation of large-amplitude
dust acoustic stationary shock wave are presented here using the complete set of non-linear dust fluid equations coupled with
the dust charging equation and Poisson equation. The DA waves are of compressional type showing considerable increase of dust
density, which is of significant importance in astrophysical context as it leads to enhanced gravitational attraction considered
as a viable process for star formation. The DA shock transition to its far downstream amplitude is oscillatory in nature due
to dust charge fluctuations, the oscillation amplitude and shock width depending on the ratioω

The modulational instability of dust acoustic waves in a dusty plasma with non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation is studied. Using the perturbation method, a modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation containing a damping term that comes from the effect of dust charge variation is derived. It is found that the modulational instability of the wave packet and the propagation characters of the envelope solitary waves are modified significantly by the non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation. 相似文献

ABSTRACTNonlinear propagation of dust-ion-acoustic shock waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless four-component quantum plasma containing electrons, positrons, ions and negatively charged dust grains affected by dust charge variations and viscosity of ions is studied using quantum hydrodynamic model. Considering dust charge variation give rise to calculating of charging currents of the plasma particles. These currents have been calculated with orbit limited motion theory and using Fermi-distribution functions or Boltzmann–Maxwell distribution depending on quantum or classical particles, respectively. The basic characteristics of quantum dust-ion-acoustic shock waves are investigated by deriving Korteweg–de Vries–Burgers equation under the reductive perturbation method. Depending on the relative values of the dispersive and dissipative coefficients, oscillatory and monotonic shock waves can propagate in the plasma model. The effect of chemical potential and density of dust particles on the shock wave’s height and thickness is investigated. In addition, the critical value of H (Hc) is calculated and it is shown that for R?>?0 compressive shock waves and for R?<?0 rarefactive ones can exist. The present study is applicable to researchers on quantum nonlinear structures in dense astrophysical objects and ultra-small micro- and nano-electronic devices. 相似文献

Some properties of nonlinear dust acoustic waves in magnetized dusty plasma with variable charges by reductive perturbation technique have been studied. The effect of adiabatic dust charge variations under the assumption that the ratio of dust charging time to the dust hydrodynamical time is very small, and the nonadiabatic dust charges variations under the assumption that the same ratio is small but finite, are also incorporated. It is seen that the magnetic field and the dust charge variations significantly modify the wave amplitude. It is also seen that in case of adiabatic charge variations, the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation governs the nonlinear dust acoustic wave, whereas in case of nonadiabatic dust charge variations, the wave is governed by the KdV Burger equation. Nonadiabaticity generated anomalous dissipative effect causes generation of the dust acoustic shock wave. Numerical integration of KdV Burger equation shows that the dust acoustic wave admits oscillatory (dispersion dominant) or monotone (dissipation dominant) shock solutions depending on the magnitude of the coefficient of the Burger term 相似文献

Both linear and nonlinear excitation in dusty plasmas have been investigated including the nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation and Gaussian size distribution dust particles. A linear dispersion relation and a Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation governing the dust acoustic shock waves are obtained. The relevance of the instability of wave and the wave evolution to the dust size distribution and nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation is illustrated both analytically and numerically. The numerical results show that the Gaussian size distribution of dust particles and the nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation have strong common influence on the propagation of both linear and nonlinear excitations. 相似文献

The propagation of three-dimensional nonlinear dust-acoustic and dust-Coulomb waves in unmagnetized/magnetized dusty plasmas consisting of electrons, ions, and charged dust particles is investigated. The grain charge fluctuation effect is also incorporated through the current balance equation. By using the perturbation method, a Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation and a Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation governing the nonlinear waves in the unmagnetized and magnetized systems are obtained respectively. It has been shown that with the combined effects of grain charge fluctuation, the transverse perturbation, and the external magnetic field would modify the wave structures. Random charge fluctuation effect is investigated for positively charged strongly coupled dust particles. The dust particles are moving in two dimensions and are confined by a parabolic potential. Using the Monte Carlo method, the effect of charge fluctuation is investigated for a finite number of particles interacting through a screened Yukawa potential. It is found that the charge fluctuation corresponds to an additional heating of the system giving rise to a change on the background configurations as well as on the melting characteristics. 相似文献

Dust acoustics shock waves have been investigated experimentally in a homogeneous unmagnetized dusty plasma device containing negative ions. When the negative ion density larger than a critical concentration ‘rc’ negative shock waves were observed instead of positive shock waves. Again when it is nearly equal to ‘rc’ both positive and negative shock waves propagate. The experimental findings are compared with modified KdV-Burgers equation. The nonlinear dust acoustic waves in a dusty plasmas with the combined effects of non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation and higher-order transverse perturbation are studied. Using the perturbation method, a Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) Burgers equation that governing the dust acoustic waves is deduced for the first time. A particular solution of this KP Burgers equation is also obtained. 本文描述了在夏季典型海区,温跃层内波起伏和不同距离声振幅起伏的实验测量结果。温度起伏记录时间48.96h,温跃层厚度约2-4m,温差达10-15℃。等温线内波垂直位移有5-6m,且主要受最低阶模式支配。测量获得的内波垂直空间频谱特性中,除潮周期占主要成分外,0.05-0.143cpm(7-20min)之间有明显的谱峰,谱衰减系数在-1.5--1.7之间。数值计算表明内波相、群速度在低频段完全相同,均为0.329m/s;随频率增加,相、群速度从约0.03cpm(33.33min)开始分离,且群速度值下降更快。在不同距离接收点,声振幅信号起伏有8-10dB;随距离增加,起伏有加快的趋势,并伴有信号衰落现象。谱衰减系数在-1,45--2之间。最后,用PE算法,模拟计算在内波起主导作用下的声振幅起伏。 相似文献

By using a Korteweg-deVries-Burgers(KdV-Burgers) equation and considering the dust size distribution, we have studied effects of the dust size distribution on the shock wave in dusty plasma. The dependence of characteristics of the shock wave on different dust size distributions has been given. It is found that the speed and amplitude of a shock wave considering the dust size distribution are larger than that of the dusty plasma with the averaged dust size. However, the width of a shock wave considering the dust size distribution is smaller than that of the dusty plasma with the averaged dust size. 相似文献
