Homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction method was studied based on a phase separation phenomenon in a ternary solvent system. According to this procedure, mononitrotoloenes were extracted by single-phase extraction in a water/methanol/chloroform, homogeneous ternary solvent system. Methanol and chloroform were used as consolute and extraction solvents, respectively. The homogeneous solution was broken by the addition of salt and a cloudy solution was formed. After centrifugation, the fine droplets of the extraction solvent were sedimented in the bottom of the conical test tube. Analysis of the extracts was carried out by gas chromatography. The optimization procedure was performed using Box-Behnken design. The variables involved were: sample and extraction solvent volumes, consolute solvent volume and phase separator reagent concentration. Optimum results were obtained under the following conditions: sample volume of 5 mL, extraction solvent volume of 55 μL, consolute solvent volume of 1 mL and phase separator reagent concentration; 5% (w/v). Under these conditions, the enrichment factors of 354, 311 and 300, dynamic linear ranges of 0.5-500, 1-500 and 1-500 μg L−1, and limit of detections (LODs) of 0.09, 0.09 and 0.1 μg L−1 were obtained for o-nitrotoluene, m-nitrotoluene and p-nitrotoluene, respectively. Finally, the method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of MNTs in the waste water samples in the range of micrograms per liter with R.S.Ds. < 13.2%.  相似文献

Aqueous perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) solution of water-miscible organic solvent (SOLV), such as dioxane and acetone, was separated into two immiscible phases reversibly by charge neutralization of PFOA ion with proton (H+) (pKa value of HPFOA was 1.01, atI = 0.1, 20 °C). The transparent heavier phase, in which HPFOA was concentrated quantitatively, consisted of three components in the molar ratio of HPFOASOLVH2O = 14.06.6 for acetone system, and 10.471.9 for dioxane system, respectively. This separation provides a new homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction method, which can be successfully applied to the ultra-high preconcentration of water-soluble porphyrin compounds: 104-fold concentration was achieved within 20 min.  相似文献

This review aims to provide an overview of homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction (HLLE) and dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) methods and their potential use in inorganic analysis. Relevant applications to the determination of metal ions, metalloids and organometals are included. The phase separation mechanisms of these unconventional solvent extraction techniques are discussed. Twenty-one amino acids were derivatized with fluorescamine (FLA) under basic conditions (pH 9) and the extraction of the amino acid-FLA derivatives was investigated using a homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction with perfluorooctanoic acid (HPFOA) based on phase separation under strongly acidic conditions. Under the optimum concentration conditions for the reagents ([PFOA]T = 3 x 10(-3) mol dm-3, [acetone]T = 3 vol.%, [HCl]T = 1.8 mol dm-3), the concentration factor was approximately 1000-fold (i.e., 30 microliters of the sedimented liquid phase was produced from 33 ml of the homogeneous aqueous solution). The percentage extraction (E) was determined for the 21 amino acid-FLA derivatives; the value for the tryptophan (Trp)-FLA derivative was 80.9%, whereas the other derivatives were not almost extracted (E < 0.4%). The Trp-FLA derivative was selective for the extraction using the homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction method with HPFOA. After the sedimented liquid phase containing Trp-FLA has been placed on a polytetrafluoroethylene filter-paper, the fluorescence intensity was determined using a spectrofluorimeter with filter-paper as the solid-sample holder. The calibration graph of Trp was linear over the range 1.0 x 10(-8)-1.5 x 10(-6) mol dm-3. The relative standard deviation for the central value of the calibration graph was 4.5% (five determinations) and the detection limit (S/N = 3) was 8.9 x 10(-9) mol dm-3. When the proposed method was applied to the highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric determination of Trp in animalin-L syrup, the results were satisfactory.  相似文献

Microscale preconcentration techniques using 1 to 10 milligrams of samples and microliter volumes of aqueous solutions and organic solvents are described for the determination of cadmium at the sub-ppm level in indium and nickel by graphite-furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Several simple apparatus are devised to overcome operational difficulties resulting from the miniaturization and ensure the precision and accuracy of analytical results. A combined method with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) has been developed for determining gold(III). Dicyclohexylamine, a new extractant for gold(III), showed excellent performance in DLLME. Acetone was indispensable to the quantitative extraction of gold(III), contributing to decrease in hydration, decrease in the difference in the dielectric constants between the supernatant phase and the sedimented phase, and dissolution of a part of chloroform as an extraction solvent to the supernatant phase as well as improvement of dipersibility. In DLLME using a mixture of 1.0 mL of acetone and 100 μL of chloroform containing 50 mmol L−1 of dicyclohexylamine, gold(III) could be extracted selectively and effectively from 8 mL of a sample solution in the presence of iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), palladium(II), and platinum(IV) at pH 1. The extracted gold(III) was determinable by ETAAS; the detection limit was 0.002 μg L−1 (three times the standard deviation of the blank values, n = 8) as a gold(III) concentration in 8 mL of sample solution. The proposed method was applicable to the determination of gold in platinum metal and its alloy as well as effluent without any interference by the matrices.  相似文献

Summary Transport extraction based on solvent sublation has been proposed for separation and preconcentration of trace analytes from aqueous solutions. The experimental capabilities of this method were investigated using a complex of molecular iodine with ionic surfactants. A comparison of transport extraction with conventional solvent extraction was also made. The theoretical principles of transport extraction have been revealed and the basic difference between these two extractive separations has been explained. Summary A new method of sorbent supported transport extraction based on the use of open-cell polyurethane foam sorbents in solvent sublation separation has been developed. The method has been shown to be effective for the separation and preconcentration of radioiodine and/or stable iodine from 41 of deionized, drinking (tap) and surface (river) waters using N-cetylpyridinium chloride as the cationic surfactant and N2 carrier gas as the bubbling medium. A transport extraction efficiency of about 94% was obtained in 60 to 90 min; a 300-fold preconcentration was found for radioiodine as measured by direct radioactivity counting. 离子液体是一种绿色溶剂,可替代易挥发的有机溶剂用于液/液萃取。在阳离子表面活性剂CTMAB存在下,Mo(Ⅵ)与9-(2-羟基-5-偶氮对甲苯)苯基荧光酮(MBASF)反应形成稳定的络合物,其最大吸收波长位于522 nm。在显色后的体系中加入离子液体-1-丁基-3-三甲基硅咪唑六氟磷酸盐([C4tmsim][PF6]),Mo-MBASF络合物被高效萃取进入离子液体相。由于离子液体在萃取前后均为透明液体,可直接用于光度法测定钼。在1000 mL水样中,0~4μg Mo(Ⅵ)符合比尔定律,络合物的表观摩尔吸光系数达1.2×107L.mol-1.cm-1。绝大多数离子可大量存在,方法具有高的灵敏度和选择性,已应用于环境水样中超痕量钼的测定。  相似文献

It is the first time that triphenylmethane was used as an adsorbent to preconcentrate and separate trace amount of molybdenum in water samples. The effects of different parameters, such as acidity, stirring time and various metal ions, the amounts of triphenylmethane and salicyl fluorine, etc. on the enrichment yield of molybdenum have been studied to optimize the experimental conditions. Under the optimum conditions, molybdenum can be adsorbed on the surface of microcrystalline triphenylmethane loaded with salicyl fluorone by the intermolecular action strength. The possible reaction mechanism for the enrichment of molybdenum was discussed in detail in this paper. Mo(VI) can be completely separated from Pb(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Cr(III), Ni(II), Hg(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Fe(III) and Al(III) in the solution. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of trace amount of molybdenum in various water samples by spectrophotometry after preconcentration using microcrystalline triphenylmethane. The preconcentration factor is from 83 (500 ml water sample was enriched to 6.0 ml) to 166 (1000 ml water sample was enriched to 6.0 ml). The detection limit is 1.3 × 10−5 mg l−1 and the linearity is maintained in the concentration range 3.8 × 10−3 to 0.36 mg l−1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The recoveries are in the range of 93.5-104%. The relative standard deviation is 1.8-2.9%. Analytical results obtained with this novel method are very satisfactory.  相似文献

A new homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction using a fluorocarbon ionic surfactant, Zonyl FSA (FSA), having a diethylthioether group as a spacer between the perfluoroalkyl group and carboxyl group has been developed. In this FSA method, the phase separation phenomena were observed at mild pH (below pH 6). Moreover, by using this extraction method as a preconcentration, a highly sensitive spectrofluorometric determination of chlorophyll a was established. The results for the standard chlorophyll a were as follows. The concentration factor (V(w)/V(o)) was 200 (water phase, V(w), 20 cm(3), water-immiscible phase, V(o), 100 mul), the distribution ratio, log D, was 4.85, the extraction percentage, E, was 99.7%, and the procedure time was approximately 30 min. The calibration curve was linear in the concentration range 2 x 10(-11)-3 x 10(-7) mol dm(-3) and the detection limit (S/N=3) was 1 x 10(-11) mol dm(-3). The relative standard deviation was 0.72% for 10(-8) mol dm(-3) (five determinations).  相似文献

A highly sensitive procedure is presented for the determination of ultra-trace concentration of molybdenum by catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the molybdenum (Mo)-pyrocatechol violet (PCV) complex on to a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by reduction of the adsorbed species by voltammetric scan using differential pulse modulation. The reduction current is enhanced catalytically by chlorate. The influence of variables was completely studied by factorial design analysis. Optimum analytical conditions for the determination of molybdenum were established. Molybdenum can be determined in the range 1.0 × 10−3-100.0 ng ml−1 with a limit of detection of 0.2 pg ml−1. The influence of potential interfering ions on the determination of molybdenum was studied. The procedure was applied to the determination of molybdenum in mineral water and some analytical grade substances with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Summary A slightly modified steam distillation-extraction device is described for the continuous extraction and preconcentration of organic traces in aqueous samples, prior to capillary G.C.-analysis. The quantitative performance, both theoretically and practically, is studied using phenols as the test substances. The final recovery is determined by the flow-ratio of the water and the extracting solvent and by the extraction coefficient. The process is found to be highly reproducible even at low concentration levels (ppb’s). Using 30 ml. samples with a concentration of 30 ppb (1:10^9), 100 % recoveries are obtained for the phenolic substances studied, with a relative standard deviation of about 3 %, both for methylene chloride and ethylacetate as the extracting solvents. Using methylene chloride as the extracting solvent, for phenol a maximum recovery of 80 % was obtained. The applicability of a liquid-liquid extraction system which is coupled on-line with a capillary gas chromatograph was studied for environmental and ecotoxicological analyses. The optimized and automated system was used for the determination of apolar and rather non-volatile organic compounds in aqueous samples. Relevant aspects of sample introduction, phase separation and selection of extraction solvent are discussed. Three routine-tipe applications are described, viz. an improved method for the determination of hexachlorocyclohexanes in ground water and the determination of the so-called NCC-ether and ACC-ether in ecotoxicological studies. Depending on the application studied, the concentration levels varied from 0.1 to 6000 μg/I, using ECD and/or FID detection. Typical coefficients of variation obtained with the total extraction–GC procedure were 2–25%. The system was found to be rugged, it saves time compared with set-ups involving off-line liquid-liquid extraction and considerably reduces the manual work load.  相似文献

In this study, a new method was developed for analyzing malathion, cypermethrin and lambda-cyhalothrin from soil samples by using homogeneous liquid–liquid extraction (HLLE) and gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC–ECD). Acetone was used as extraction solvent for the extraction of target pesticides from soil samples. When the extraction process was finished, the target analytes in the extraction solvent were rapidly transferred from the acetone extract to carbon tetrachloride, using HLLE. Under the optimum conditions, linearity was obtained in the range of 0.05–40 μg kg−1 for malathion, 0.04–10 μg kg−1 for lambda-cyhalothrin and 0.05–50 μg kg−1 for cypermethrin, respectively. Coefficients of correlation (r2) ranged from 0.9993 to 0.9998. The repeatability was carried out by spiking soil samples at concentration levels of 2.5 μg kg−1 for lambda-cyhalothrin, and 10 μg kg−1 for malathion and cypermethrin, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) varied between 2.3 and 9.6% (n = 3). The limits of detection (LODs), based on signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of 3, varied between 0.01 and 0.04 μg kg−1. The relative recoveries of three pesticides from soil A1, A2 and A3 at spiking levels of 2.5, 5 and 10 μg kg−1 were in the range of 82.20–91.60%, 88.90–110.5% and 77.10–98.50%, respectively. In conclusion, the proposed method can be successfully applied for the determination of target pesticide residues in real soil samples.  相似文献

Summary A method is proposed for the determination of carbetamide in water below European Union guidelines (detection limit,DL, below 0.1 μgL−1). Micro liquid-liquid extraction with dichloromethane affords carbetamide which is converted to aniline by hydrolysis. Identification and quantification of aniline was performed by GC-MS. The retention time was 4.24 min. Quantification was achieved by single-ion monitoring (SIM) atm/z 66 and 93. Clean-up is not necessary before SIM. Deuterated anthracene (2H10-anthracene) was used as internal standard. The method was used to determine carbetamide in different types of water sample spiked at very low concentration levels (0.13–10.00 μgL−1). TheDL was 0.04 μgL−1. The effect of the presence of other carbamates was also studied.  相似文献

In this article, a new ligandless dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method has been developed for preconcentration of trace quantities of silver as a prior step to its determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In the proposed approach, carbon tetrachloride and ethanol were used as extraction and dispersive solvents. Several factors that may be affected on the extraction process, like, extraction solvent, disperser solvent, the volume of extraction and disperser solvent, pH of the aqueous solution and extraction time were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range of 5.0 ng mL−1 to 2.0 μg mL−1 of silver with R2 = 0.9995 (n = 9) and detection limit based on three times the standard deviation of the blank (3Sb) was 1.2 ng mL−1 in original solution. The relative standard deviation for eight replicate determination of 0.5 μg mL−1 silver was ±1.5%. The high efficiency of dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction to carry out the determination of silver in complex matrices was demonstrated. The proposed method has been applied for determination of trace amount of silver in standard and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Cloud point extraction (CPE) was used to extract and separate lanthanum(III) and gadolinium(III) nitrate from an aqueous solution. The methodology used is based on the formation of lanthanide(III)-8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) complexes soluble in a micellar phase of non-ionic surfactant. The lanthanide(III) complexes are then extracted into the surfactant-rich phase at a temperature above the cloud point temperature (CPT). The structure of the non-ionic surfactant, and the chelating agent-metal molar ratio are identified as factors determining the extraction efficiency and selectivity. In an aqueous solution containing equimolar concentrations of La(III) and Gd(III), extraction efficiency for Gd(III) can reach 96% with a Gd(III)/La(III) selectivity higher than 30 using Triton X-114. Under those conditions, a Gd(III) decontamination factor of 50 is obtained.  相似文献

This work assesses the use of modified natural clinoptilolite as an adsorptive material for separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of zirconium ions. A simple, rapid and economical method was developed for the preconcentration of trace amounts of zirconium in aqueous medium using 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol as a complexing agent. Effect of sample pH, flow rate of sample and elution solutions, breakthrough volume and interference of several ions were studied. Determination of zirconium was made by ICP-AES technique. The sorption was quantitative in the pH range from 3.0 to 4.0, whereas quantitative desorption occurred instantaneously with 2 mol L?1 hydrochloric acid. Linearity was maintained between 0.05 and 9.0 μg mL?1. Relative standard deviations range from ±0.9% to ±2.3% (n?=?5). The detection limit was 0.1 ng mL?1. Because of good recovery (>97%), this method is suitable for preconcentration and determination of zirconium in effluents containing trace amount of zirconium.  相似文献
