A novel fluorescent peptide sensor containing tryptophan (donor) and dansyl fluorophore (acceptor) was synthesized for monitoring heavy and transition metal (HTM) ions on the basis of metal ion binding motif (Cys-X-X-X-Cys). The peptide probe successfully exhibited a turn on and ratiometric response for several heavy metal ions such as Hg2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Zn2+, and Ag+ in aqueous solution. The enhancements of emission intensity were achieved in the presence of the HTM ions by fluorescent resonance energy transfer (FRET) and chelation enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) effects. The detection limits of the sensor for Cd2+, Pb2+, Zn2+, and Ag+ were lower than the EPA's drinking water maximum contaminant levels (MCL). We described the fluorescent enhancement, binding affinity, and detection limit of the peptide probe for HTM ions. 相似文献

A new fluorescein-based chemodosimeter (II) for Hg2+ ion was designed and synthesized, and it displayed excellent selective and sensitive toward Hg2+ ion over other commonly metal ions in aqueous media. II was a colorless, non-fluorescent compound. Upon addition of Hg2+ to the solution of II, the thiosemicarbazide moiety of II would undergo an irreversible desulfurization reaction to form its corresponding oxadiazole (IV), a colorful and fluorescent product. During this process, the spirocyclic ring of II was opened, causing instantaneous development of visible color and strong fluorescence emission in the range of 500-600 nm. Based on the above mechanism, a fluorogenic Hg2+-selective chemodosimeter was developed. The fluorescence increase is linearly with Hg2+ concentration up to 1.0 μmol L−1 with a detection limit of 8.5 × 10−10 mol L−1 (3σ). Compared with the rhodamine-type chemodosimeter, II is more stable in aqueous media and exhibits higher sensitivity toward Hg2+. The findings suggest that II will serve as a practical chemodosimeter for rapid detection of Hg2+ concentrations in realistic media. 相似文献

Using the Hg2+-induced desulfurization reaction of thiosemicarbazide derivative, we designed and synthesized a novel “turn on” coumarin-based fluorescent probe L with a simple structure for detecting mercury ion (II). Spectroscopy revealed that the probe responds selectively to mercury ions over other metal ions with marked fluorescence enhancement. Detection of Hg2+ was effective at pH 7.0–9.5, with high selectivity and significant effect in HeLa cells, human umbilical vein endothelial cells and Escherichia coli, but no cytotoxicity. This probe could be an ideal and practical Hg2+ probe with important biological significance. 相似文献

A simple fluorescent probe, which contains rhodamine and aminoquinoline moieties, was designed and prepared for selective detection of Hg2+ in acetonitrile. RbQ exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity toward Hg2+ over other common metal ions. The recognition of RbQ toward Hg2+ can be detected by fluorescence spectra, absorption spectra, and even by naked eyes. The binding ratio of the RbQ–Hg2+ complex was found to be 1:1 according to Job plot experiment, and the limit of detection was 1.05×10−7 M. Moreover, the prepared complex RbQ–Zn2+ (RbQZ) could detect Hg2+ in a ratiometric way and showed lower limit of detection (2.95×10−8 M) than RbQ in the same condition. Finally, we also demonstrated that the aminoquinoline–zinc complex could be served as a new and effective FRET donor for rhodamine derivatives. 相似文献

Rapid and ultrasensitive detection of trace heavy metal mercury(II) ions (Hg2+) are of significant importance due to the induced serious risks for environment and human health. This presented article reports the gold nanoparticle-based dual labeling colorimetric method (Dual-COLO) for ultrasensitive and rapid detection of Hg2+ using the specific thymine–Hg2+–thymine (T–Hg2+–T) as recognition system and the dual labeling strategy for signal amplification. Both qualitative and quantitative detections of Hg2+ are achieved successfully in aqueous samples. More importantly, the achieved detection limit of 0.005 ng mL−1 (0.025 nM) without any instruments is very competitive to other rapid detection methods even ICP-MS based methods. This Dual-COLO method is also applied directly for real water sample monitoring and, more importantly, applied in analysis of mercury poisoned animal tissues and body fluidic samples, indicating a potentially powerful and promising tool for environmental monitoring and food safety control. 相似文献

A novel fluorometric sensor bearing three dansyl moieties based on tris[2-(2-aminoethylthio)ethyl]amine was prepared by a simple approach using a conventional two-step synthesis. The sensor exhibits highly Hg2+-selective ON-OFF fluorescence quenching behavior in aqueous acetonitrile solutions and is shown to discriminate various competing metal ions, particularly Cu2+, Ag+, and Pb2+ as well as Ca2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Na+, Ni2+, and Zn2+, with a detection limit of 1.15 × 10−7 M or 23 ppb. 相似文献

Rhodamine B hydroxylamide (1) is characterized as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescence probe for Cu2+. Under the optimized conditions, the probe exhibits specific absorbance-on and fluorescence-on responses to Cu2+ only. This remarkable property may allow Cu2+ to be detected directly in the presence of the other transition metal ions, and such an application has been demonstrated to human serum. The reaction mechanism is also investigated and proposed as that the hydroxylamide group of 1 binds Cu2+, and the subsequent complexation of Cu2+ displays a high catalytic activity for the hydrolytic cleavage of the amide bond, causing the release of fluorophore (rhodamine B) and thereby the retrievement of absorbance and fluorescence. The recovered fluorescence intensity is proportional to the concentration of Cu2+ in the range 1-20 μM. The detection limit for Cu2+ is 33 nM (k = 3). The reaction mechanism described here may be useful for developing excellent spectroscopic probes with cleavable active bonds for other analytes. 相似文献

Naphthalimide derivative (compound 1) containing hydrophilic hexanoic acid group was synthesized and used to recognize Hg2+ in aqueous solution. The fluorescence enhancement of 1 is attributed to the formation of a complex between 1 and Hg2+ by 1:1 complex ratio (K = 2.08 × 105), which has been utilized as the basis of fabrication of the Hg2+-sensitive fluorescent chemosensor. The comparison of this method with some other fluorescence methods for the determination of Hg2+ indicated that the method can be applied in aqueous solution rather than organic solution. The analytical performance characteristics of the proposed Hg2+-sensitive chemosensor were investigated. The chemosensor can be applied to the quantification of Hg2+ with a linear range covering from 2.57 × 10−7 to 9.27 × 10−5 M and a detection limit of 4.93 × 10−8 M. The experiment results show that the response behavior of 1 toward Hg2+ is pH independent in medium condition (pH 4.0–8.0). Most importantly, the fluorescence changes of the chemosensor are remarkably specific for Hg2+ in the presence of other metal ions, which meet the selective requirements for practical application. Moreover, the response of the chemosensor toward Hg2+ is fast (response time less than 1 min). In addition, the chemosensor has been used for determination of Hg2+ in hair samples with satisfactory results, which further demonstrates its value of practical applications. 相似文献

A simple but highly selective coumarin-based fluorescence probe 1, 8-(1,3-dithiane)-7-hydroxycoumarin was designed and synthesized for both the ratiometric detection of Hg2+ and the on–off response to pH change in aqueous solution. The sensor detected Hg2+ selectively via Hg2+-promoted thioacetal deprotection reaction within five minutes and reflected pH in the range from 7.8 to 11.9 as a result of the equilibrium between weak-fluorescent acid form and strong-fluorescent base form. In addition, the probe has an excellent selectivity towards Hg2+ over other competitive metal ions for biomedical and environmental applications. The sensing behavior of our probe was studied by UV–visible absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra. 相似文献

ABSTRACTIn this work, a new turn-on fluorescent probe 1 for Hg2+ ions detection based on rhodamine B spirolactam was reported. Among tested metal ions, probe 1 shows high selectivity towards Hg2+ in the the mixture solution of methanol and 0.02 M HEPES buffer (V/V = 9:1, pH = 7.2). No absorption and emission band of probe 1 was observed in the range from 450 to 700 nm. While only addition of Hg2+ to probe 1 could lead to appearance of a new absorption band centered at 553 nm and a fluorescence emission band around 577 nm upon excitation at 520 nm. Moreover, it exhibits excellent linear relationship (R2 = 0.9993) between fluorescence intensity at 577 nm and the concentration of Hg2+ from 1.6 to 32 μM. The sensing mechanism was proven to be spirolactam ring open induced by Hg2+ through 1H NMR, MS, absorption and fluorescence spectra. In addition, probe 1 could detect Hg2+ in real water samples and on filter paper, which demonstrates its application in environment science. 相似文献

The synthesis and characterization data for an intriguing family of sterically encumbered tetrasubstituted organoselenium species are described. The open exterior geometry and flexibility of the multiple soft selenium-containing donor arms enhances conformational organization thus allowing the molecule to reveal a propensity for trapping Hg(II) ions. Preliminary studies on the ion-sensing properties of these molecules revealed that they can act as selective ionophores for Hg(II) ions. 相似文献

A novel and sensitive electrochemical method for determination of mercury (II) ions (Hg2+) based on the formation of thymine–Hg2+–thymine complexes and gold nanoparticle-mediated signal amplification is reported. Two 5′ end thiolated complementary oligonucleotides containing six strategically placed thymine–thymine mistakes were introduced in this work. One of the two oligonucleotides was immobilized on a gold electrode and the other one on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Due to six thymine–thymine mistakes the two oligonucleotides were not able to be hybridized, so AuNPs could not be immobilized onto the electrode surface after the electrode was immersed in the DNA–AuNPs solution. However, if Hg2+ existed, T–Hg2+–T complexes could be formed and AuNPs could be immobilized onto the electrode surface. Meanwhile, large numbers of [Ru(NH3)6]3+ molecules as electrochemical species could be localized onto the electrode surface. The Hg2+ detection limit of this assay could be as low as 10 nM, which is the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) limit of Hg2+ for drinkable water. This method is proven to be simple, convenient, high sensitive and selective. 相似文献

In this paper we unveil a novel rhodamine compound based fluorescent chemosensor (1-Pb2+) for colormetric and fluorescent detection of citrate in aqueous solution. This is the first fluorescent chemosensor for citrate based on rhodamine compound. The comparison of this method with some other fluorescence methods for citrate indicates that the method can detect citrate in aqueous solution by both color changes and fluorescent changes with long emission wavelength. In the new developed sensing system, 1-Pb2+ is fluorescent due to Pb2+-induced fluorescence enhancement of 1. However, the addition of citrate may release 1 into the solution with quenching of fluorescence. The chemosensor can be applied to the quantification of citrate with a linear range covering from 1.0 × 10−7 to 5.0 × 10−5 M and a detection limit of 2.5 × 10−8 M. The experiment results show that the response behavior of 1-Pb2+ towards citrate is pH independent in medium condition (pH 6.0–8.0). Most importantly, the fluorescence changes of the chemosensor are remarkably specific for citrate in the presence of other anions (even those that exist in high concentration), which meet the selective requirements for practical application. Moreover, the response of the chemosensor toward citrate is fast (response time less than 1 min). In addition, the chemosensor has been used for determination of citrate in urine samples with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Health or environmental issue caused by abnormal level of metal ions like Zn2+ or Cd2+ is a worldwide concern. Developing an inexpensive and facile detection method for Zn2+ and Cd2+ is in urgent demand. Due to their super optical properties, fluorescent quantum dots (QDs) have been developed as a promising alternative for organic dyes in fluorescence analysis. In this study, a CdTe QDs-based sensitive and selective probe for Zn2+ and Cd2+ in aqueous media was reported. The proposed probe worked in fluorescence “turn-on” mode. The initial bright fluorescence of CdTe QDs was effectively quenched by sulfur anions (S2−). The presence of Zn2+ (or Cd2+) can “turn-on” the weak fluorescence of QDs quenched by S2− due to the formation of ZnS (or CdS) passivation shell. Under optimal conditions, a good linear relationship between the fluorescence response and concentration of Zn2+ (or Cd2+) could be obtained in the range from 1.6 to 35 μM (1.3–25 μM for Cd2+). The limit of detection (LOD) for Zn2+ and Cd2+ were found to be 1.2 and 0.5 μM, respectively. Furthermore, the present probe exhibited a high selectivity for Zn2+ and Cd2+ over other metal ions and was successfully used in the detection of Zn2+ or Cd2+ in real water samples. 相似文献

The response characteristics and selectivity coefficients of an unmodified carbon paste electrode (CPEs) towards Ag+, Cu2+ and Hg2+ were evaluated. The electrode was used as an indicator electrode for the simultaneous determination of the three metal ions in their mixtures via potentiometric titration with a standard thiocyanate solution. A three-layered feed-forward artificial neural network (ANN) trained by back-propagation learning algorithm was used to model the complex non-linear relationship between the concentration of silver, copper and mercury in their different mixtures and the potential of solution at different volumes of the added titrant. The network architecture and parameters were optimized to give low prediction errors. The optimized networks were able to precisely predict the concentrations of the three cations in synthetic mixtures. 相似文献

An anthracene-oxyquinoline dyad (HQ-AN) is synthesized which acts as a selective fluorescent reporter for Hg(II) with a detection limit of 3.2 × 10−6 M in acetonitrile-water system. The phenomenon of unfolding of HQ-AN from its initial folded conformation in acetonitrile-water system, selectively in the presence of Hg(II) is indicated from spectrofluorometric studies. The sensing event is monitored by the marked change in fluorescence emission occurring due to quenching of the excimer and retaining of the monomer emission of the two anthracene units in HQ-AN. 相似文献

A two-photon excited luminescence of water-soluble rhodamine-platinum(II) complex: fluorescent probe specific for Hg2+ detection in live cell 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The first example of cyclometalated platinum(II)-containing rhodamine probe (1) with two-photon induced luminescent properties was synthesized and investigated for mercury detection. A highly selective color change of 1, from light yellow to pink, is observed only in the presence of Hg2+ due to the formation of 1,3,4-oxadiazole ring in 2. This selectivity of Hg2+ with color changes can be observed easily by the naked-eye. Meanwhile, a remarkable turn-on and selective 20-fold fluorescent enhancement of 1 upon binding with Hg2+ over the other tested metal ions was observed. The water-soluble probe 1 was successfully applied in the visualizing of the site of Hg2+ accumulation as well as estimating of trace amounts of mercury ions in live HeLa cells by two-photon microscopy. 相似文献

A new rhodamine-based chemosensor 1 has been designed and synthesized. The receptor selectively recognizes Co2+ and Hg2+ ions in CH3CN/water (4:1, v/v; 10 μM tris HCl buffer, pH 6.8) by showing different extents of change in emission. The disappearance of colour of mercury-ensemble of 1 followed by appearance of distinct bluish colour under UV illumination upon addition of l-cysteine distinguishes Hg2+ from Co2+ ions. The receptor shows in vitro detection of both the ions in human cervical cancer (HeLa) cells. 相似文献

Lanthanide coordination polymers (LCPs) have recently emerged as attractive biosensor materials due to their flexible components, high tailorable properties and unique luminescence features. In this work, we designed a smart LCP probe of Tb-CIP/AMP {(CIP, ciprofloxacin) (AMP, adenosine monophosphate)} for Hg2+ detection by using lanthanide ions as metal nodes, CIP as ligand molecule, and AMP as bridging linker and recognition unit. Tb-CIP/AMP emits strong green luminescence due to the inclusion of AMP, which withdraws the coordinated water molecules and shields Tb3+ from the quenching effect of O–H vibration in water molecules. The subsequent addition of Hg2+ into Tb-CIP/AMP can strongly quench the fluorescence because of the specific coordination interaction between AMP and Hg2+. As a kind of Hg2+ nanosensor, the probe exhibited excellent selectivity for Hg2+ and high sensitivity with detection limit of 0.16 nM. In addition, the probe has long fluorescence lifetime up to millisecond and has been applied to detect Hg2+ in drinking water and human urine samples with satisfactory results. We envision that our strategy, in the future, could be extended to the designation of other LCP-based hypersensitive time-gated luminescence assays in biological media and biomedical imaging. 相似文献

In this paper, rape stalk was modified with citric acid (CA) to prepare copper ion biosorbent. The modified rape stalk (MRS) was characterized by Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR), zeta potential, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The effects of various parameters like initial Cu2+ concentration, contact time, initial pH, and temperature on adsorption capacity were studied. The adsorption capacity of MRS at 298 K was 69.84 mg/g, far higher than 18.24 mg/g for native rape stalk (NRS). The adsorption mechanism was also evaluated in terms of kinetics and thermodynamics. The adsorption equilibrium data was well described by the Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorption process followed the pseudo-second-order rate kinetics. Thermodynamic study showed spontaneous and endothermic nature of the adsorption process. The ion exchange of the adsorption mechanism was affirmed. MRS could be a potentially low-cost and green adsorbent for removal of Cu2+ from aqueous solution. 相似文献
