We prove that atomic decomposition for the Hardy spaces h1 and H1 is valid for noncommutative martingales. We also establish that the conditioned Hardy spaces of noncommutative martingales hp and bmo form interpolation scales with respect to both complex and real interpolations.  相似文献

We analyze Parseval frames generated by the action of an ICC group on a Hilbert space. We parametrize the set of all such Parseval frames by operators in the commutant of the corresponding representation. We characterize when two such frames are strongly disjoint. We prove an undersampling result showing that if the representation has a Parseval frame of equal norm vectors of norm , the Hilbert space is spanned by an orthonormal basis generated by a subgroup. As applications we obtain some sufficient conditions under which a unitary representation admits a Parseval frame which is spanned by a Riesz sequences generated by a subgroup. In particular, every subrepresentation of the left-regular representation of a free group has this property.  相似文献

We study the spaces of holomorphic functions on the punctured plane which are square integrable with respect to a weight. We determine when these spaces are finite-dimensional and which are composition operators acting on them, studying their cyclicity and hypercyclicity properties.  相似文献

In this paper we shall study Hardy spaces of analytic functions in a strip S. Our main result is on one hand an intrinsic characterization of the spaces and on the second that polynomials are dense. We also present an orthogonal (in H2(S)) basis of polynomials.  相似文献

In classical measure theory the Brooks-Jewett Theorem provides a finitely-additive-analogue to the Vitali-Hahn-Saks Theorem. In this paper, it is studied whether the Brooks-Jewett Theorem allows for a noncommutative extension. It will be seen that, in general, a bona-fide extension is not valid. Indeed, it will be shown that a C*-algebra A satisfies the Brooks-Jewett property if, and only if, it is Grothendieck, and every irreducible representation of A is finite-dimensional; and a von Neumann algebra satisfies the Brooks-Jewett property if, and only if, it is topologically equivalent to an abelian algebra.  相似文献

By a ball-covering B of a Banach space X, we mean that B is a collection of open (or closed) balls off the origin whose union contains the unit sphere SX of X; and X is said to have the ball-covering property (BCP) provided it admits a ball-covering by countably many balls. In this note we give a natural example showing that the ball-covering property of a Banach space is not inherited by its subspaces; and we present a sharp quantitative version of the recent Fonf and Zanco renorming result saying that if the dual X of X is w separable, then for every ε>0 there exist a (1+ε)-equivalent norm on X, and an R>0 such that in this new norm SX admits a ball-covering by countably many balls of radius R. Namely, we show that R=R(ε) can be taken arbitrarily close to (1+ε)/ε, and that for X=?1[0,1] the corresponding R cannot be equal to 1/ε. This gives the sharp order of magnitude for R(ε) as ε→0.  相似文献

We present several new techniques for approximating spectra of linear operators (not necessarily bounded) on an infinite-dimensional, separable Hilbert space. Our approach is to take well-known techniques from finite-dimensional matrix analysis and show how they can be generalized to an infinite-dimensional setting to provide approximations of spectra of elements in a large class of operators. We conclude by proposing a solution to the general problem of approximating the spectrum of an arbitrary bounded operator by introducing the n-pseudospectrum and argue how that can be used as an approximation to the spectrum.  相似文献

If (Σ,X) is a measurable space and X a Banach space we investigate the X-inheritance of copies of ? in certain subspaces Δ(Σ,X) of bvca(Σ,X), the Banach space of all X-valued countable additive measures of bounded variation equipped with the variation norm. Among the consequences of our main theorem we get a theorem of J. Let X be a complete CAT(0) space. We prove that, if E is a nonempty bounded closed convex subset of X and a nonexpansive mapping satisfying the weakly inward condition, i.e., there exists pE such that ∀xE, ∀α∈[0,1], then T has a fixed point. In Banach spaces, this is a result of Lim [On asymptotic centers and fixed points of nonexpansive mappings, Canad. J. Math. 32 (1980) 421-430]. We study binormality, a separation property of the norm and weak topologies of a Banach space. We show that every Banach space which belongs to a P-class is binormal. We also show that the asplundness of a Banach space is equivalent to a related separation property of its dual space.  相似文献

The general question, “When is the product of Fréchet spaces Fréchet?” really depends on the questions of when a product of α4 Fréchet spaces (also known as strongly Fréchet or countably bisequential spaces) is α4, and when it is Fréchet. Two subclasses of the class of strongly Fréchet spaces shed much light on these questions. These are the class of α3 Fréchet spaces and its subclass of 0-bisequential spaces. The latter is closed under countable products, the former not even under finite products. A number of fundamental results and open problems are recalled, some further highlighting the difference between being α3 and Fréchet and being 0-bisequential.  相似文献

This paper considers the solution of weighted interpolation problems in model subspaces of the Hardy space H2 that are canonically isometric to Paley-Wiener spaces of analytic functions. A new necessary and sufficient condition is given on the set of interpolation points which guarantees that a solution in H2 can be transferred to a solution in a model space. The techniques used rely on the reproducing kernel thesis for Hankel operators, which is given here with an explicit constant. One of the applications of this work is to the finite-time controllability of diagonal systems specified by a C0 semigroup.  相似文献

In this article k-convex metric spaces are considered where a several variable mapping is provided as a limit point of an iteration scheme based on the midpoint map in the metric space itself. This mapping, considered as a mean of its variables, has some properties which relates it to the center of mass of these variables in the metric space. Sufficient conditions are given here for the two points to be identical, as well as upper bounds on their distances from one another. The asymptotic rate of convergence of the iterative process defining the mean is also determined here. The case of the symmetric space on the convex cone of positive definite matrices related to the geometric mean and the special orthogonal group are also studied here as examples of k-convex metric spaces.  相似文献
