In this paper we study how prime filtrations and squarefree Stanley decompositions of squarefree modules over the polynomial ring and over the exterior algebra behave with respect to Alexander duality. The results which we obtained suggest a lower bound for the regularity of a \mathbb Zn{\mathbb {Z}^n}-graded module in terms of its Stanley decompositions. For squarefree modules this conjectured bound is a direct consequence of Stanley’s conjecture on Stanley decompositions. We show that for pretty clean rings of the form R/I, where I is a monomial ideal, and for monomial ideals with linear quotient our conjecture holds.  相似文献

We give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of the edge ideal of a complete k-partite hypergraph and as an application we give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of a monomial ideal in a polynomial ring S. We also give a lower and an upper bound for the cyclic module S/I associated to the complete k-partite hypergraph.  相似文献

In analogy to the skeletons of a simplicial complex and their Stanley–Reisner ideals we introduce the skeletons of an arbitrary monomial ideal I ? S = K [x1, …, xn ]. This allows us to compute the depth of S /I in terms of its skeleton ideals. We apply these techniques to show that Stanley's conjecture on Stanley decompositions of S /I holds provided it holds whenever S /I is Cohen–Macaulay. We also discuss a conjecture of Soleyman Jahan and show that it suffices to prove his conjecture for monomial ideals with linear resolution (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. There are two seemingly unrelated ideals associated with a simplicial complex Δ: one is the Stanley–Reisner ideal I Δ , the monomial ideal generated by minimal non-faces of Δ, well-known in combinatorial commutative algebra; the other is the toric ideal I M(Δ) of the facet subring of Δ, whose generators give a Markov basis for the hierarchical model defined by Δ, playing a prominent role in algebraic statistics. In this note we show that the complexity of the generators of I M(Δ) is determined by the Betti numbers of I Δ . The unexpected connection between the syzygies of the Stanley–Reisner ideal and degrees of minimal generators of the toric ideal provide a framework for further exploration of the connection between the model and its many relatives in algebra and combinatorics.  相似文献

In 1982 Richard P. Stanley conjectured that any finitely generated n -graded module M over a finitely generated n -graded K-algebra R can be decomposed as a direct sum M = i = 1 t i S i of finitely many free modules i S i which have to satisfy some additional conditions. Besides homogeneity conditions the most important restriction is that the S i have to be subalgebras of R of dimension at least depth M.We will study this conjecture for modules M = R/I, where R is a polynomial ring and I a monomial ideal. In particular, we will prove that Stanley's Conjecture holds for the quotient modulo any generic monomial ideal, the quotient modulo any monomial ideal in at most three variables, and for any cogeneric Cohen-Macaulay ring. Finally, we will give an outlook to Stanley decompositions of arbitrary graded polynomial modules. In particular, we obtain a more general result in the 3-variate case.  相似文献

In this paper we study the ideal amenability of Banach algebras. LetA be a Banach algebra and letI be a closed two-sided ideal inA, A isI-weakly amenable ifH 1(A,I *) = {0}. Further,A is ideally amenable ifA isI-weakly amenable for every closed two-sided idealI inA. We know that a continuous homomorphic image of an amenable Banach algebra is again amenable. We show that for ideal amenability the homomorphism property for suitable direct summands is true similar to weak amenability and we apply this result for ideal amenability of Banach algebras on locally compact groups.  相似文献

Let I be a nilpotent ideal of an associative algebra A over a field F and let D be a derivation of A. We prove that the ideal I + D(I) is nilpotent if char F = 0 or the nilpotency index I is less than char F = p in the case of the positive characteristic of the field F. In particular, the sum N(A) of all nilpotent ideals of the algebra A is a characteristic ideal if char F = 0 or N(A) is a nilpotent ideal of index < p = char F.  相似文献

For a monomial ideal IS = K[x 1...,x n ], we show that sdepth(S/I) ≥ ng(I), where g(I) is the number of the minimal monomial generators of I. If I =νI′, where νS is a monomial, then we see that sdepth(S/I) = sdepth(S/I′). We prove that if I is a monomial ideal IS minimally generated by three monomials, then I and S/I satisfy the Stanley conjecture. Given a saturated monomial ideal IK[x 1,x 2,x 3] we show that sdepth(I) = 2. As a consequence, sdepth(I) ≥ sdepth(K[x 1,x 2,x 3]//I) +1 for any monomial ideal in IK[x 1,x 2,x 3].  相似文献

In this article we introduced the sequence spaces c I (p), c 0 I (p), m I (p) and m 0 I (p) for p = (p k ), a sequence of positive real numbers. We study some algebraic and topological properties of these spaces. We prove the decomposition theorem and obtain some inclusion relations.   相似文献

For a standard Artinian k-algebra A=R/I, we give equivalent conditions for A to have the weak (or strong) Lefschetz property or the strong Stanley property in terms of the minimal system of generators of gin(I). Using the equivalent condition for the weak Lefschetz property, we show that some graded Betti numbers of gin(I) are determined just by the Hilbert function of I if A has the weak Lefschetz property. Furthermore, for the case that A is a standard Artinian k-algebra of codimension 3, we show that every graded Betti number of gin(I) is determined by the graded Betti numbers of I if A has the weak Lefschetz property. And if A has the strong Lefschetz (respectively Stanley) property, then we show that the minimal system of generators of gin(I) is determined by the graded Betti numbers (respectively by the Hilbert function) of I.  相似文献

The first note shows that the integral closure L′ of certain localities L over a local domain R are unmixed and analytically unramified, even when it is not assumed that R has these properties. The second note considers a separably generated extension domain B of a regular domain A, and a sufficient condition is given for a prime ideal p in A to be unramified with respect to B (that is, p B is an intersection of prime ideals and B/P is separably generated over A/p for all PAss (B/p B)). Then, assuming that p satisfies this condition, a sufficient condition is given in order that all but finitely many qS = {qSpec(A), p ? q and height(q/p) = 1} are unramified with respect to B, and a form of the converse is also considered. The third note shows that if R′ is the integral closure of a semi-local domain R, then I(R) = ∩{R′ p′ ;p′Spec(R′) and altitude(R′/p′) = altitude(R′) ? 1} is a quasi-semi-local Krull domain such that: (a) height(N *) = altitude(R) for each maximal ideal N * in I(R); and, (b) I(R) is an H-domain (that is, altitude(I(R)/p *) = altitude(I(R)) ? 1 for all height one p *Spec(I(R))). Also, K = ∩{R p ; pSpec(R) and altitude(R/p) = altitude(R) ? 1} is a quasi-semi-local H-domain such that height (N) = altitude(R) for all maximal ideals N in K.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Various generalizations of prime ideals have been studied. For example, a proper ideal I of R is weakly prime (resp., almost prime) if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? {0} (resp., ab ∈ I ? I 2) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. Let φ:?(R) → ?(R) ∪ {?} be a function where ?(R) is the set of ideals of R. We call a proper ideal I of R a φ-prime ideal if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? φ(I) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. So taking φ?(J) = ? (resp., φ0(J) = 0, φ2(J) = J 2), a φ?-prime ideal (resp., φ0-prime ideal, φ2-prime ideal) is a prime ideal (resp., weakly prime ideal, almost prime ideal). We show that φ-prime ideals enjoy analogs of many of the properties of prime ideals.  相似文献

Let D be an integral domain and * a star-operation on D. For a nonzero ideal I of D, let I * f = ?{J* | (0) ≠ J ? I is finitely generated} and I * w = ? P∈* f -Max(D) ID P . A nonzero ideal I of D is called a *-cancellation ideal if (IA)* = (IB)* for nonzero ideals A and B of D implies A* =B*. Let X be an indeterminate over D and N * = {fD[X] | (c(f))* =D}. We show that I is a * w -cancellation ideal if and only if I is * f -locally principal, if and only if ID[X] N * is a cancellation ideal. As a corollary, we have that each nonzero ideal of D is a * w -cancellation ideal if and only if D P is a principal ideal domain for all P ∈ * f -Max(D), if and only if D[X] N * is an almost Dedekind domain. We also show that if I is a * w -cancellation ideal of D, then I * w  = I * f  = I t , and I is * w -invertible if and only if I * w  = J v for a nonzero finitely generated ideal J of D.  相似文献

Let A be a commutative ring and I an ideal of A with a reduction Q. In this article, we give an upper bound on the reduction number of I with respect to Q, when a suitable family of ideals in A is given. As a corollary it follows that if some ideal J containing I satisfies J 2 = QJ, then I v+2 = QI v+1, where v denotes the number of generators of J/I as an A-module.  相似文献

Abstract

We give some techniques to determine the ideal K I generated by the monomials x k 1 y k 2 belonging to the integral closure ī of an ideal I ? ?{x, y}. We also give a sufficient condition for a weighted homogeneous ideal I ? ?{x, y} to satisfy the relation ī = I + K I .  相似文献

Let G be a reflexive subspace of the Banach space E and let Lp(I,E) denote the space of all p-Bochner integrable functions on the interval I=[0,1] with values in E, 1p∞. Given any norm N( , ) on R2, N nondecreasing in each coordinate on the set R2+, we prove that Lp(I,G) is N-simultaneously proximinal in Lp(I,E). Other results are also obtained.  相似文献

We consider a finite dimensional representation of the dihedral group D2p over a field of characteristic two where p is an odd integer and study the corresponding Hilbert ideal IH. We show that IH has a universal Gröbner basis consisting of invariants and monomials only. We provide sharp bounds for the degree of an element in this basis and in a minimal generating set for IH. We also compute the top degree of coinvariants when p is prime.  相似文献

We find examples of nilpotent n-Lie algebras and prove n-Lie analogs of classical group theory and Lie algebra results. As an example we show that a nilpotent ideal I of class c in a n-Lie algebra A with A/I 2 nilpotent of class d is nilpotent and find a bound on the class of A. We also find that some classical group theory and Lie algebra results do not hold in n-Lie algebras. In particular, non-nilpotent n-Lie algebras can admit a regular automorphism of order p, and the sum of nilpotent ideals need not be nilpotent.  相似文献
