We consider nonnegative solutions of a parabolic equation in a cylinder D×(0,T), where D is a noncompact domain of a Riemannian manifold. Under the assumption [IU] (i.e., the associated heat kernel is intrinsically ultracontractive), we establish an integral representation theorem: any nonnegative solution is represented uniquely by an integral on (D×{0})∪(MD×[0,T)), where MD is the Martin boundary of D for the associated elliptic operator. We apply it in a unified way to several concrete examples to explicitly represent nonnegative solutions. We also show that [IU] implies the condition [SP] (i.e., the constant function 1 is a small perturbation of the elliptic operator on D).  相似文献

We consider a one-dimensional generalized diffusion operator G on an open interval which is not necessarily bounded. We consider positive solutions of elliptic partial differential equations on non-compact domains of Riemannian manifolds. The lateral boundary differentiability is shown for solutions of parabolic differential equations in nondivergence form under the assumptions that the parabolic boundary satisfies the exterior Dini condition and is punctually C1C1 differentiable one-sided in t-direction. The classical barrier technique, the maximum principle, the interior Harnack inequality and an iteration procedure are the main analytical tools.  相似文献

Using the upper and lower solution techniques and Hopf's maximum principle, the sufficient conditions for the existence of blow-up positive solution and global positive solution are obtained for a class of quasilinear parabolic equations subject to Neumann boundary conditions. The modelling of the spread of infectious disease is carried out for time t on a measure chain T. Our approach unifies the continuous case and the discrete case . The model is described by the integral equation
where x(t) represents the proportion of the population infected at time t, f(t,x(t)) denotes the proportion of the population newly infected per unit time, and τ is the length of time an individual remains infectious. Using the measure chain calculus, we shall develop criteria for the existence of a nontrivial and nonnegative periodic solution for the modelling equation. The criteria can be implemented numerically, for this we shall give an algorithm as well as illustrative examples.  相似文献

In this paper, a cubic superconvergent finite volume element method based on optimal stress points is presented for one-dimensional elliptic and parabolic equations. For elliptic problem, it is proved that the method has optimal third order accuracy with respect to H1 norm and fourth order accuracy with respect to L2 norm. We also obtain that the scheme has fourth order superconvergence for derivatives at optimal stress points. For parabolic problem, the scheme is given and error estimate is obtained with respect to L2 norm. Finally, numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

This paper investigates the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions. Its approximate solution is developed by combining the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method (RKHSM). HPM is based on the use of the traditional perturbation method and the homotopy technique. The HPM can reduce nonlinear problems to some linear problems and generate a rapid convergent series solution in most cases. RKHSM is also an analytical technique, which can solve powerfully linear boundary value problems. Therefore, the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions can be solved using advantages of these two methods. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the strength of the method.  相似文献
