The two-dimensional Laplace integral transform technique has been applied to get the spatial and temporal temperature distributions in both the molten layer thickness of a thin film coated on a substrate, the still solid part of the thin film of the target and the temperature distribution in the substrate. Also a formula for the time dependence of the evaporated part of the thin film of the target as well as the molten layer thickness of the thin film were obtained. Calculations of the obtained relations were carried out during the irradiation with a pulsed laser. The derivation has taken into account the temperature-dependent absorption coefficient of the irradiated surface and the chemical reaction in the vapor of the thin film. As an illustrative example, computations were carried out on an aluminum thin film coated on a glass substrate.  相似文献

We consider the deposition of a film of viscous liquid on a flat plate being withdrawn from a bath, experimentally and theoretically. For any plate speed U, there is a range of "thick" film solutions whose thickness scales like U{1/2} for small U. These solutions are realized for a partially wetting liquid, while for a perfectly wetting liquid the classical Landau-Levich-Derjaguin film is observed, whose thickness scales like U{2/3}. The thick film is distinguished from the Landau-Levich-Derjaguin film by a dip in its spatial profile at the transition to the bath. We calculate the phase diagram for the existence of stationary film solutions as well as the film profiles and find excellent agreement with experiment.  相似文献

We study the fractional quantum Hall states on the surface of a topological insulator thin film in an external magnetic field, where the Dirac fermion nature of the charge carriers have been experimentally established only recently. Our studies indicate that the fractional quantum Hall states should indeed be observable in the surface Landau levels of a topological insulator. The strength of the effect will however be different, compared to that in graphene, due to the finite thickness of the topological insulator film and due to the admixture of Landau levels of the two surfaces of the film. At a small film thickness, that mixture results in a strongly nonmonotonic dependence of the excitation gap on the film thickness. At a large enough thickness of the film, the excitation gap in the lowest two Landau levels are comparable in strength.  相似文献

The flow of a thin liquid film over the nozzle wall under the action of tangential friction and pressure gradient is considered. For the slow flow of the film with constant thermal physical properties, analytical dependences of the film thickness and temperature at the interface on the coordinate along the nozzle edge are derived. The flow of the film over the variable-curvature nozzle edge when the gas expands into vacuum is considered. At the initial section of the curvilinear edge, the film thickness increases in inverse proportion to the root of the friction stress at the interface. Near the end point of the nozzle, the film thickens drastically because of a decrease in the friction and, consequently, the curvature of the interface diminishes. As a result, the deceleration of the liquid by the Laplace pressure gradient drops, which causes an additional sharp growth of the thickness of the film with the possibility of its dynamic and thermal disintegration and, eventually, contamination of the spacecraft surface.  相似文献

In this paper, a strategy for the fabrication of a gas-sensing hollow-core waveguide with liquid film was developed to replace the traditional solid film hollow-core waveguide. The surface morphologies of the solid film and liquid film were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Compared with the solid film, liquid film can dissolve gas molecules and enhance the gas sensitivity, especially in the range of low concentration. An improved absorption for detecting 1000 ppm of acetylene has been achieved when liquid film was adopted instead of solid film.  相似文献

We present an ultrasonic method for determining the thickness of a composite consisting of a soft thin film attached to a hard plate substrate, by resonance spectra in the low frequency region, The interrogating waves can be incident only to the two-layered composite from the substrate side. The reflection spectra are obtained by FFT analysis of the compressive pulsed echoes from the composite, and the thicknesses of the film and the substrate are simultaneously inversed by the simulated annealing method from the resonant frequencies knowing other acoustical parameters in prior. The sensitivity of the method to individual thickness, its convergence and stability against experimental noises are studied, Experiment with interrogating wavelength 4 times larger than the film thickness in a sample of a polymer film (0.054mm) on an aluminium plate (6.24mm) verifies the validity of the method. The average relative errors in the measurement of the thicknesses of the film and the substrate are found to be -4.1% and -0.62%, respectively.  相似文献

A model of current heating of a wide superconducting film is suggested assuming nonlinearity of the film conductance. Within this model, the parameters of the film can be characterized by a single dimensionless coefficient of thermal balance which includes both thermal and resistive parameters of the system. The stability of the state of the current-carrying film is analyzed. A phase diagram of the film is constructed in terms of the coefficient of thermal balance and the average current density. The propagation velocity of a stationary nonuniform temperature distribution in the film is calculated as a function of current density at various values of the coefficient of thermal balance.  相似文献

This paper investigates two-dimensional waves in a heated liquid film in the presence of the thermocapillary effect. The waves in the film are described using the integral model. The first part of the paper considers film instability for cases of fixed temperature of the plate and fixed heat flux in the plate. The liquid temperature disturbance is calculated from the energy equation for arbitrary values of Peclet number. In the second part, the evolution of waves in a heated film is modeled based on the system of equations for film thickness, flow rate, and the energy equation. In numerical modeling of the wave evolution, the boundary of the region of growing disturbances agrees well with results of stability analysis. The calculations show that for a vertical film the thermocapillary effect leads to broadening of the instability region only at low Peclet numbers.  相似文献

We use two parallel nano-slits in a silver film to form a surface plasmon Mach Zehnder interferometer (MZI), based on the interference of two surface plasmon waves propagating along the two surfaces of the silver film. Coating the silver film with a photoinduced birefringence polymer film, we achieve optical modulation of the MZI output by changing the refractive index of the polymer film with a pump beam. An on/off ratio 0f 2. 7 is obtained for a probe wavelength of 865 nm.  相似文献

The motion of the front of crystallization and the growth of a film at the surface of a plate are analyzed in the case of a laminar and in the case of a turbulent flow mode. Conditions are determined under which there occurs a transition from a matt inhomogeneous structure to a transparent homogeneous structure of ice. It is shown that, for a film to be steadily preserved at the plate surface, the film thickness must be larger than a critical equilibrium-thickness value h b.c, in which case a transparent homogeneous structure of ice is formed. Otherwise, the film at the plate surface is unstable and disappears in the course of time. The icing of aircrafts is the most important application of the results obtained in this study.  相似文献

We report experimental evidence for a transition in the interface coupling between an antiferromagnetic film and a ferromagnetic substrate. The transition is observed in a thin epitaxial NiO film grown on top of Fe(001) as the film thickness is increased. Photoemission electron microscopy excited with linearly polarized x rays shows that the NiO film is antiferromagnetic at room temperature with in-plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy. The anisotropy axis is perpendicular to the Fe substrate magnetization when the NiO thickness is less than about 15 A, but rapidly becomes parallel to the Fe magnetization for a NiO coverage higher than 25 A.  相似文献

We address a recent experiment in which a strong decrease of the resistance of a superconducting film has been observed when a remote unbiased gate was placed above the film. Here we explain the experimental finding as a suppression of the vortex tunneling due to the orthogonality catastrophe of the electrons inside the gate. We interpret the change in the resistance of the film as a "metal-insulator" transition in the system of vortices induced by the gate.  相似文献

Using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, we numerically simulate the plasmonic interactions and the optical properties of a metallic nanotube array near a thin metallic film. We show that the energies and intensities of the plasmon resonances depend strongly on the aspect ratio (the ratio of the inner to outer radius) of the nanotube, the separation between the center of the nanotube and the upper surface of the metallic film and the thickness of the film. In the thin film limit, the high-energy localized tube-related plasmons can induce their images on both sides of the metallic film, so the degeneracy state splits into two modes. Based on the nature of the field distribution, we also show clearly the plasmon resonant characteristics that the electromagnetic fields decay away from the surface of the nanotubes and both sides of the metallic film.  相似文献

A theoretical model, novel to our knowledge, to investigate the near-field optical diffraction from a subwavelength aperture in a thin conducting film is presented. A governing equation for the magnetic field distribution in an optical thin film based on the power flow theorem is derived for the first time. Thus all of the components of the electric and magnetic fields inside or outside the thin film with a subwavelength aperture embedded can be obtained by applying the Hankel transform accurately. Numerical computations are performed to illustrate the edge effect by an enhancement factor of 2.2 and the depolarization phenomenon of the transmission in terms of the distance from the film surface.  相似文献

采用分子动力学方法模拟了碳在晶体硅基底上的沉积过程, 并分析计算了所沉积的类金刚石薄膜的面向及法向热导率. 对沉积过程的模拟表明, 薄膜密度及sp3杂化类型的碳原子所占比例均随沉积高度的增加而减小, 在碳原子以1 eV能量垂直入射的情况下, 在硅基底上沉积的薄膜密度约为2.8 g/cm3, sp3杂化类型的碳原子所占比例约为22%, 均低于碳在金刚石基底上沉积的情况. 采用Green-Kubo方法, 计算了所沉积类金刚石薄膜的热导率, 其面向热导率可以达到相同尺寸规则金刚石晶体的50%左右, 并且随着薄膜密度与sp3杂化类型碳原子所占比例的升高而升高.  相似文献

Features of cesium ion emission from a graphene film on iridium in a 107–108 V cm?1 electric field of are studied. Field electron and desorption images demonstrate that the film consists of regions (islands) 20–100 nm in size. Intercalated cesium lies under the film. There is continuous desorption of cesium ions from the defects in the graphene film and the regions of where islands abut one another. Cesium ions arrive at the desorption sites from the intercalated state.  相似文献

Using spin density functional theory within the framework of the local spin density approximation with Perdew-Zunger type exchange-correlation energy, ferromagnetism in a quasi-two-dimensional electron gas (Q-2DEG) is studied. The electronic and magnetic structures of a thin film are calculated as a function of film thickness and electron density. Ferromagnetism in the Q-2DEG is found to appear at a higher electron density than in the three-dimensional electron gas. Unless a film is very thin, with decreasing electron density, a magnetic phase transition occurs from a spin-unpolarized fluid to a Wigner film with surface magnetism, in which the spin polarization localizes only in the neighborhood of surfaces. Further decreasing density induces another transition to a fully spin-polarized ferromagnetic Wigner film.  相似文献
