In the presence of direct trajectories connecting source and drain contacts, the conductance of a quantum dot may exhibit resonances of the Fano type. Since Fano resonances result from the interference of two transmission pathways, their line shape (as described by the Fano parameter q) is sensitive to dephasing in the quantum dot. We show that under certain circumstances the dephasing time can be extracted from a measurement of q for a single resonance. We also show that q fluctuates from level to level, and we calculate its probability distribution for a chaotic quantum dot. Our results are relevant to recent experiments by G?res et al. [Phys. Rev. B 62, 2188 (2000)].  相似文献

We investigate the thermal conductance in a quantum waveguide modulated with quantum dots at low temperatures. It is found that the thermal conductance sensitively depends on the geometrical parameters of the structure and boundary conditions. When the stress-free boundary conditions are applied in the structure, the universal quantum of thermal conductance can be found regardless of the geometry details in the limit T→0. For an uniform quantum waveguide, a thermal conductance plateau can be observed at very low temperatures; while for the quantum waveguide modulated with quantum dots, the plateau disappears, instead a decrease of the thermal conductance can be observed as the temperature goes up in the low temperature region, and its magnitude can be adjusted by the radius of the quantum dot. Moreover, it is found that the quantum waveguide with two coupling quantum dots exhibits oscillatory decaying thermal conductance behavior with the distance between two quantum dots. However, when the hard-wall boundary conditions are applied, the thermal conductance displays different behaviors.  相似文献

The effects of an ac electric field on the Fano resonance in a parallel-coupled double quantum dot system are investigated theoretically. The field can induce the photon-assisted Fano resonances for both symmetrical and asymmetrical parallel configurations. The magnitude and position of the photon-assisted Fano peak can be tuned by the ac field strength and frequency, respectively. Furthermore, the Fano resonance can appear with increasing the field frequency for both the symmetrical and asymmetrical configurations. This provides an efficient mechanism to control the Fano resonance. The photon-electron pumping effects for the symmetrical and asymmetrical cases are also studied in the weak- and strong-coupling regime.  相似文献

Linear conductance across a large quantum dot via a single level epsilon(0) with large hybridization to the contacts is strongly sensitive to quasibound states localized in the dot and weakly coupled to epsilon(0). The conductance oscillates with the gate voltage due to interference of the Fano type. At low temperature and Coulomb blockade, Kondo correlations damp the oscillations on an extended range of gate voltage values, by freezing the occupancy of the epsilon(0) level itself. As a consequence, the antiresonances of Fano origin are washed out. The results are in good correspondence with experimental data for a large quantum dot in the semiopen regime.  相似文献

In this Letter, we investigate the transport through a T-shaped double quantum dot coupled to two normal metal leads left and right and a superconducting lead. Analytical expressions of Andreev transmission and local density of states of the system at zero temperature have been obtained. We study the role of the superconducting lead in the quantum interferometric features of the double quantum dot. We report for first time the Fano effect produced by Andreev bound states in a side quantum dot. Our results show that as a consequence of quantum interference and proximity effect, the transmission from normal to normal lead exhibits Fano resonances due to Andreev bound states. We find that this interference effect allows us to study the Andreev bound states in the changes in the conductance between two normal leads.  相似文献

Dynamics of the Dirac fermions, in particular the transmission coefficient and the resonant tunneling lifetime are studied across a bilayer graphene electrostatic double barrier structure modulated by an in plane homogeneous electric field. Asymmetric Fano type resonances are noted for the first time in the transmission spectrum of the bilayer graphene nanostructures and are found to be highly sensitive to the direction of incidence of the charge carriers and the applied homogeneous electric field. The effect of the external field on the extended and the evanescent modes is also analysed. Resonant tunneling lifetime is found to be highly anisotropic in nature. The chiral carriers are either accelerated or decelerated by the electric field depending on the energy of the quasi-bound states, the angle of incidence and the magnitude of the applied field. Effects of the external field on the localization of the chiral carriers are also discussed.  相似文献

以等离子增强化学气相沉积法制备的石墨烯作为导电沟道材料,将其与无机CsPbI_3钙钛矿量子点结合,设计并制备了石墨烯-钙钛矿量子点场效应晶体管光电探测器.研究和分析了石墨烯作为场效应晶体管的电学特性及其与钙钛矿量子点结合作为光电探测器的光电特性.结果表明,石墨烯在场效应晶体管中表现出良好的电学性质,其与钙钛矿量子点的结合对波长为400 nm的光辐射具有明显的光响应,在光强为12μW时器件光生电流最大为64μA,响应率达6.4 A·W~(-1),对应的光电导增益和探测率分别为3.7×10~4,6×10~7Jones(1 Jones=1 cm·Hz~(1/2)·W~(-1)).  相似文献

The dependence of conductance fluctuations on parallel magnetic field is used as a probe of spin degeneracy in open GaAs quantum dots. The variance of fluctuations at high parallel field is reduced from the low-field variance (with broken time-reversal symmetry) by factors ranging from roughly 2 in a 1 microm (2) dot to greater than 4 in 8 microm (2) dots. The factor of 2 is expected for Zeeman splitting of spin-degenerate channels. A possible explanation for the larger suppression based on field-dependent spin-orbit scattering is proposed.  相似文献

The magneto-phonon resonance or MPR occurs in semiconductor materials when the energy spacing between Landau levels is continuously tuned to cross the energy of an optical phonon mode. MPRs have been largely explored in bulk semiconductors, in two-dimensional systems and in quantum dots. Recently there has been significant interest in the MPR interactions of the Dirac fermion magneto-excitons in graphene, and a rich splitting and anti-crossing phenomena of the even parity E2g long wavelength optical phonon mode have been theoretically proposed and experimentally observed. The MPR has been found to crucially depend on disorder in the graphene layer. This is a feature that creates new venues for the study of interplays between disorder and interactions in the atomic layers. We review here the fundamentals of MRP in graphene and the experimental Raman scattering works that have led to the observation of these phenomena in graphene and graphite.  相似文献

We extend a simple model of a charge trap coupled to a single-electron box to energy ranges and parameters such that it gives new insights and predictions readily observable in many experimental systems. We show that a single background charge is enough to give lines of differential conductance in the stability diagram of the quantum dot, even within undistorted Coulomb diamonds. It also suppresses the current near degeneracy of the impurity charge, and yields negative differential lines far from this degeneracy. We compare this picture to two other accepted explanations for lines in diamonds, based respectively on the excitation spectrum of a quantum dot and on fluctuations of the density-of-states in the contacts. In order to discriminate between these models, we emphasize the specific features related to environmental charge traps. Finally we show that our model accounts very well for all the anomalous features observed in silicon nanowire quantum dots.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of the laser field on the polarization fluctuation of excitons in graphene ribbons. In order to calculate the fluctuation, we develop a bosonization method to deal with the electron-hole system. Our results show that the polarization fluctuation may be controlled by adjusting the strength and frequency of the laser field. The insulating armchair graphene ribbons may be divided into two types according to the width-dependences of the excitonic polarization fluctuation.  相似文献

We theoretically study the differential conductance of a graphene/graphene superconductor junction, where the valley polarization of Dirac electrons is considered in the nonsuperconducting region. It is shown that the subgap conductance will increase monotonically with the valley-polarization strength when the chemical potential μ is near the Dirac point μ≤ 3?(? is the superconducting gap), whereas it will decrease monotonically when μ is far away from the Dirac point, μ≥ 5?.The former case is induced by the specular Andreev reflection while the retro-reflection accounts for the later result. Our findings may shed light on the control of conductance of a graphene superconductor junction by valley polarization.  相似文献

We developed semiclassical method and show that any smooth potential in graphene describing elongated a quantum dot or wire may behave as a barrier or as a trapping well or as a double barrier potential, Fabry–Perot structure, for 1D Schrödinger equation. The energy spectrum of quantum wires has been found and compared with numerical simulations. We found that there are two types of localized states, stable and metastable, having finite life time. These life times are calculated, as is the form of the localized wave functions which are exponentially decaying away from the wire in the perpendicular direction.  相似文献

利用散射矩阵方法,比较了被一维凸形量子点、凹形量子点调制的量子线中膨胀模的声子输运和热导性质. 研究结果表明: 声子的输运概率与热导受制于量子点几何结构,具有凸形量子点结构的量子线中声子输运概率与热导KCV大于具有凹形量子点结构的量子线中声子输运概率与热导KCC. 两者热导之比KCV/KCC依赖于一维量子点的具体结构,且随着温度及主量子线与量子点横截面的边长差ΔSL的增加而增加. 两种具有不同散射结构的一维量子线中热输运性质的区别在于凸形量子点结构中膨胀模数量总是大于凹形量子点结构中膨胀模数量的缘故. 关键词: 声学声子输运 热导 量子结构  相似文献

We investigate the Coulomb blockade resonances and the phase of the transmission amplitude of a deformed ballistic quantum dot weakly coupled to leads. We show that preferred single-particle levels exist which stay close to the Fermi energy for a wide range of values of the gate voltage. These states give rise to sequences of Coulomb blockade resonances with correlated peak heights and transmission phases. The correlation of the peak heights becomes stronger with increasing temperature. The phase of the transmission amplitude shows lapses by between the resonances. Implications for recent experiments on ballistic quantum dots are discussed. Received 17 July 1998  相似文献

Asymmetric resonances in elastic n+19C scattering are attributed to Efimov states of such neutron-rich nuclei, that is, three-body bound states of the n+n+18C system when none of the pairs is bound or some of them are only weakly bound. By fitting to the general resonance shape described by Fano, we extract the resonance position, width, and the "Fano profile index." While Efimov states have been discussed extensively in many areas of physics, there is only one very recent experimental observation in trimers of cesium atoms. The conjunction that we present of the Efimov and Fano phenomena may lead to experimental realization in nuclei.  相似文献
