We have obtained the high-resolution threshold photoelectron (TPE) spectra of chlorobenzene C6H5Cl (X1A1), propargyl radical C3H3 (X2B1), and allyl radical C3H5 (X2A1) by employing the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser velocity-map-imaging-TPE (VUV-VMI-TPE) method. The photoelectron energy resolution of 1-2 cm-1 observed for the VUV-VMI-TPE method is comparable to that achieved in VUV laser pulsed-field ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) measurements. Similar to VUV-PFI-PE measurements, the energy resolutions for VUV-VMI-photoelectron (VUV-VMI-PE) and VUV-VMI-TPE measurements are found to depend on the dc electric field F in V/cm used at the photoionization region for electron extraction. The decrease of the ionization thresholds of C6H5Cl and C3H3 observed as a function of F shows that the Stark shift correction for VUV-VMI-TPE measurements is governed by the formula -3.1√F in cm-1, which is half of the classical prediction of -6.1√F in cm-1.} We have also measured the VUV-VMI-PE spectra of C6H5Cl and C3H5 at VUV energies near their ionization thresholds. The cationic vibrational bands observed in the VUV-VMI-PE measurements were assigned to be the vibrational progression, nv7+ (n=0-3), for C3H5+. The higher experimental sensitivity and similar energy resolutions achieved in VUV-VMI-TPE compared to VUV-PFI-PE measurements make the VUV-VMI-TPE method an excellent alternative for high-resolution VUV-PFI-PE measurements.  相似文献

By using a high-resolution infrared (IR) laser to prepare propyne (C(3)H(4)) in selected rotational levels of the excited nu(1) (acetylenic C-H stretching) vibration mode prior to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) measurements, we have obtained rotationally resolved VUV-PFI-PE spectra for the C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12),nu(1) (+)=1) band. The analysis of these PFI-PE spectra leads to the determination of the spin-orbit constant of A=-13.0+/-0.2 cm(-1) for the C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12),nu(1) (+)=1) state. Using this A constant and the relative rotationally selected and resolved state-to-state photoionization cross sections thus measured, we have obtained an excellent simulation for the VUV-PFI-PE origin band of C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12)), yielding a value of 83 619.0+/-1.0 cm(-1) (10.367 44+/-0.000 12 eV) for the adiabatic ionization energy of C(3)H(4) [IE(C(3)H(4))]. The present two-color IR-VUV-PFI-PE study has also made possible the determination of the C-H stretching frequencies nu(1) (+)=3217.1+/-0.2 cm(-1) for C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12)). The spectral assignment and simulation were guided by high-level ab initio calculations on the IE(C(3)H(4)), Franck-Condon factors for photoionization transitions, and rotational constants and vibrational frequencies for C(3)H(4) (+).  相似文献

We have developed an effusive laser photodissociation radical source, aiming for the production of vibrationally relaxed radicals. Employing this radical source, we have measured the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photoionization efficiency (PIE) spectrum of the propargyl radical (C(3)H(3)) formed by the 193 nm excimer laser photodissociation of propargyl chloride in the energy range of 8.5-9.9 eV using high-resolution (energy bandwidth = 1 meV) multibunch synchrotron radiation. The VUV-PIE spectrum of C(3)H(3) thus obtained is found to exhibit pronounced autoionization features, which are tentatively assigned as members of two vibrational progressions of C(3)H(3) in excited autoionizing Rydberg states. The ionization energy (IE = 8.674 +/- 0.001 eV) of C(3)H(3) determined by a small steplike feature resolved at the photoionization onset of the VUV-PIE spectrum is in excellent agreement with the IE value reported in a previous pulsed field ionization-photoelectron study. We have also calculated the Franck-Condon factors (FCFs) for the photoionization transitions C(3)H(3) (+)(X;nu(i),i = 1-12)<--C(3)H(3)(X). The comparison between the pattern of FCFs and the autoionization peaks resolved in the VUV-PIE spectrum of C(3)H(3) points to the conclusion that the resonance-enhanced autoionization mechanism is most likely responsible for the observation of pronounced autoionization features. We also present here the VUV-PIE spectra for the mass 39 ions observed in the VUV synchrotron-based photoionization mass spectrometric sampling of several premixed flames. The excellent agreement of the IE value and the pattern of autoionizing features of the VUV-PIE spectra observed in the photodissociation and flames studies has provided an unambiguous identification of the propargyl radical as an important intermediate in the premixed combustion flames. The discrepancy found between the PIE spectra obtained in flames and photodissociation at energies above the IE(C(3)H(3)) suggests that the PIE spectra obtained in flames might have contributions from the photoionization of vibrationally excited C(3)H(3) and/or the dissociative photoionization processes involving larger hydrocarbon species formed in flames.  相似文献

Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectroscopy has been applied to the study of the sulfur monoxide radical (SO) prepared by using a supersonically cooled radical beam source based on the 193 nm excimer laser photodissociation of SO(2). The vibronic VUV-PFI-PE bands for the photoionization transitions SO(+)(X(2)Π(1∕2); v(+) = 0) ← SO(X(3)Σ(-); v = 0); and SO(+)((2)Π(3∕2); v(+) = 0) ← SO(X(3)Σ(-); v = 0) have been recorded. On the basis of the semiempirical simulation of rotational branch contours observed in these PFI-PE bands, we have obtained highly precise ionization energies (IEs) of 83,034.2 ± 1.7 cm(-1) (10.2949 ± 0.0002 eV) and 83,400.4 ± 1.7 cm(-1) (10.3403 ± 0.0002 eV) for the formation of SO(+)(X(2)Π(1∕2); v(+) = 0) and SO(+)((2)Π(3∕2); v(+) = 0), respectively. The present VUV-PFI-PE measurement has enabled the direct determination of the spin-orbit coupling constant (A(0)) for SO(+)(X(2)Π(1∕2,3∕2)) to be 365.36 ± 0.12 cm(-1). We have also performed high-level ab initio quantum chemical calculations at the coupled-cluster level up to full quadruple excitations and complete basis set (CBS) extrapolation. The zero-point vibrational energy correction, the core-valence electronic correction, the spin-orbit coupling, and the high-level correction are included in the calculation. The IE[SO(+)(X(2)Π(1∕2,3∕2))] and A(0) predictions thus obtained are found to be in remarkable agreement with the experimental determinations.  相似文献

By preparing ethylene [C2H4(X1Ag)] in selected rotational levels of the nu11(b1u), nu2+nu12(b1u), or nu9(b2u) vibrational state with infrared (IR) laser photoexcitation prior to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser photoionization, we have recorded rotationally resolved pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectra for C2H4+(X2B3u) in the energy region of 0-3000 cm(-1) above the ionization energy (IE) of C2H4(X1Ag). Here, nu2(ag), nu9(b2u), nu11(b1u), and nu12(b1u) represent the C-C stretching, CH2 stretching, CH2 stretching, and CH2 bending modes of C2H4(X1Ag), respectively. The fully rovibrationally resolved spectra have allowed unambiguous symmetry assignments of the observed vibrational bands, which in turn have provided valuable information on the photoionization dynamics of C2H4. The IR-VUV photoionization of C2H4(X1Ag) via the nu11(b1u) or nu2+nu12(b1u) vibrational states is found to predominantly produce vibrational states of C2H4+(X2B3u) with b1u symmetry, which cannot be observed in single-photon VUV-PFI-PE measurements of C2H4(X1Ag). The analysis of the observed IR-VUV-PFI-PE bands has provided the IE(C2H4) = 84,790.2(2) cm(-1) and accurate vibrational frequencies for the nu4+(au)[84.1(2) cm(-1)], nu12+(b1u)[1411.7(2) cm(-1)], nu4+ +nu12+(b1g)[1482.5(2) cm(-1)], nu2+(ag)[1488.3(2) cm(-1)], nu2+ + nu4+(au)[1559.2(2) cm(-1)], 2nu4+ + nu12 +(b1u)[1848.5(2) cm(-1)], 4nu4+ + nu12 +(b1u)[2558.8(2) cm(-1)], nu2+ + nu12 +(b1u)[2872.7(2) cm(-1)], and nu11+(b1u)[2978.7(2) cm(-1)] vibrational states of C2H4+(X2B3u), where nu4+ is the ion torsional state. The IE(C2H4) and the nu4+(au), nu2+(ag), and nu2+ + nu4+ (au) frequencies are in excellent accord with those obtained in previous single-photon VUV-PFI-PE measurements. The other ion vibrational frequencies represent new experimental determinations. We have also performed high-level ab initio anharmonic vibrational frequency calculations for C2H4(X1Ag) and C2H4+(X2B3u) at the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVQZ level for guidance in the assignment of the IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra. All theoretical vibrational frequencies for the neutral and ion, except the ion torsional frequency, are found to agree with experimental vibrational frequencies to better than 1%.  相似文献

By preparing methyl bromide (CH3Br) in selected rotational levels of the CH3Br(X(1)A1; v1 = 1) state with infrared (IR) laser excitation prior to vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) laser pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) measurements, we have observed rotationally resolved photoionization transitions to the CH3Br(+)(X(2)E(3/2); v1(+) = 1) state, where v1 and v1(+) are the symmetric C-H stretching vibrational mode for the neutral and cation, respectively. The VUV-PFI-PE origin band for CH3Br(+)(X(2)E(3/2)) has also been measured. The simulation of these IR-VUV-PFI-PE and VUV-PFI-PE spectra have allowed the determination of the v1(+) vibrational frequency (2901.8 +/- 0.5 cm(-1)) and the ionization energies of the origin band (85 028.3 +/- 0.5 cm(-1)) and the v1(+) = 1 <-- v1 = 1 band (84 957.9 +/- 0.5 cm(-1)).  相似文献

DCTB [(H(3)C)(3)C-p-Ph-CH=C(CH(3))-trans-CH=C(CN)(2)] has recently advanced to the most promising matrix material for matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) within material sciences. However, data that would allow the evaluation of the electron-transfer reactivity within a thermochemical framework are sparse. The present study reports the first-time determination of the ionization energy (IE) of DCTB applying photoelectron (PE) spectroscopy. The experimental IE (8.54 +/- 0.05 eV) is in excellent agreement with the theoretical value of 8.47 eV, obtained by AM1 calculations. The same level of theory determines the electron affinity (EA) as 2.31 eV. Model analytes of known thermochemistry (phenanthrene [C(14)H(10)], anthracene [C(14)H(10)] and fluorofullerene [C(60)F(46/48)]) are used to bracket the electron-transfer reactivity within DCTB-MALDI. The formation of molecular ions of these analytes either is expected or is beyond the thermochemical accessibility of the DCTB matrix.  相似文献

In this Article, we present mass-selected threshold photoelectron spectra of propargyl as well as the 1- and 3-bromopropargyl radicals. The reactive intermediates were produced by flash pyrolysis of suitable precursors and ionized by VUV synchrotron radiation. The TPES of the propargyl radical was simulated using data from a recent high-level computational study. An ionization energy (IE) of 8.71 ± 0.02 eV was obtained, in excellent agreement with computations, but slightly above previous experimental IEs. The pyrolysis of 1,3-dibromopropyne delivers both 1- and 3-bromopropargyl radicals that can be distinguished by their different ionization energies (8.34 and 8.16 eV). To explain the vibrational structure, a Franck-Condon simulation was performed, based on DFT calculations, which can account for all major spectral features. Bromopropargyl photoionizes dissociatively beginning at around 10.1 eV. Cationic excited states of 1- and 3-bromopropargyl were tentatively identified. The dissociative photoionization of the precursor (1,3-dibromopropyne) was also examined, delivering an AE(0K) (C(3)H(2)Br(+)/C(3)H(2)Br(2)) of 10.6 eV.  相似文献

We show that by scanning the frequency of a single mode infrared (IR) optical parametric oscillator (IR-OPO) laser to excite the molecular species of interest and fixing the frequency of a vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser to photoionize the IR excited species, high-resolution IR spectra of polyatomic neutrals can be obtained with high sensitivity. The fact that this IR-VUV-photoion (IR-VUV-PI) method is based on VUV photoionization probe, and thus, allows the identification of the neutral IR absorber, makes it applicable for IR spectroscopy measurements of isotopemers, radicals, and clusters, which usually exist as impure samples. The highly resolved IR-VUV-PI measurements achieved using the single mode IR-OPO laser have made possible the selection of single rovibrational states of CH3X (X=Br and I), C2H4, and C3H4 for VUV-pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) measurements, resulting in rovibrationally resolved photoelectron spectra for these polyatomic molecules. These experiments show that the signal-to-noise ratios of the IR-VUV-PI and IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra obtained by employing the high-resolution IR-OPO laser are significantly higher than those observed in previous IR-VUV-PI and IR-VUV-PFI-PE studies using a low-resolution IR-OPO laser. Further improvement in sensitivity of IR-VUV-PI and IR-VUV-PFI-PE measurements by using the collinear arrangement of IR-VUV lasers and molecular beam is discussed.  相似文献

The B?(1)A(')(000)←X?(1)A(')(000) band system of a cold beam of CuOH has been studied field-free and in the presence of a static electric field. The Stark tuning of the low-J levels of the X?(1)A(')(000) state were analyzed to give a value of 3.968(32) D for the a-component of the permanent electric dipole moment, μ(a). An upper limit of 0.3 D for μ(a)(B?(1)A(')) is established from the lack of observable Stark tuning for the low-J levels of the B?(1)A(')(000) state. The experimental value for μ(a)(X?(1)A(')) is compared to theoretical predictions and other Cu-containing molecules. A molecular orbital correlation diagram is used to rationalize the large change in μ(a) upon excitation. The electronegativity of OH was determined to be 2.81 from a comparison of the determined μ(a) with the experimental μ values for CuF, CuO, and CuS.  相似文献

An experimental two-color photoionization dynamics study of laser-excited Br2 molecules is presented, combining pulsed visible laser excitation and tunable vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) synchrotron radiation with photoelectron imaging. The X 1Sigmag + -B 3Pi0+u transition in Br2 is excited at 527 nm corresponding predominantly to excitation of the v' = 28 vibrational level in the B 3Pi0+u state. Tunable VUV undulator radiation in the energy range of 8.40-10.15 eV is subsequently used to ionize the excited molecules to the X 2Pi32,12 state of the ion, and the ionic ground state is probed by photoelectron imaging. Similar experiments are performed using single-photon synchrotron ionization in the photon energy range of 10.75-12.50 eV without any laser excitation. Photoelectron kinetic energy distributions are extracted from the photoelectron images. In the case of two-color photoionization using resonant excitation of the intermediate B 3Pi0+u state, a broad distribution of photoelectron kinetic energies is observed, and in some cases even a bimodal distribution, which depends on the VUV photon energy. In contrast, for single-photon ionization, a single nearly Gaussian-shaped distribution is observed, which shifts to higher energy with photon energy. Simulated spectra based on Franck-Condon factors for the transitions Br2(X 1Sigmag+, v" = 0)-Br2 +(X 2Pi12,32, v+) and Br2(B 3Pi0+u, v' = 28)-Br2 +(X 2Pi12,32, v+) are generated. Comparison of these calculated spectra with the measured images suggests that the differences in the kinetic energy distributions for the two ionization processes reflect the different extensions of the vibrational wave functions in the v" = 0 electronic ground state (X 1Sigmag+) versus the electronically and vibrationally excited state (B 3Pi0+u, v' = 28).  相似文献

The speed and angular distribution of O atoms arising from the photofragmentation of C(5)H(8)-O(2), the isoprene-oxygen van der Waals complex, in the wavelength region of 213-277 nm has been studied with the use of a two-color dissociation-probe method and the velocity map imaging technique. Dramatic enhancement in the O atoms photo-generation cross section in comparison with the photodissociation of individual O(2) molecules has been observed. Velocity map images of these "enhanced" O atoms consisted of five channels, different in their kinetic energy, angular distribution, and wavelength dependence. Three channels are deduced to be due to the one-quantum excitation of the C(5)H(8)-O(2) complex into the perturbed Herzberg III state ((3)Δ(u)) of O(2). This excitation results in the prompt dissociation of the complex giving rise to products C(5)H(8)+O+O when the energy of exciting quantum is higher than the complex photodissociation threshold, which is found to be 41740 ± 200 cm(-1) (239.6±1.2 nm). This last threshold corresponds to the photodissociation giving rise to an unexcited isoprene molecule. The second channel, with threshold shifted to the blue by 1480 ± 280 cm(-1), corresponds to dissociation with formation of rovibrationally excited isoprene. A third channel was observed at wavelengths up to 243 nm with excitation below the upper photodissociation threshold. This channel is attributed to dissociation with the formation of a bound O atom C(5)H(8)-O(2) + hv → C(5)H(8)-O(2)((3)Δ(u)) → C(5)H(8)O + O and∕or to dissociation of O(2) with borrowing of the lacking energy from incompletely cooled complex internal degrees of freedom C(5)H(8) (?)-O(2) + hv → C(5)H(8) (?)-O(2)((3)Δ(u)) → C(5)H(8) + O + O. The kinetic energy of the O atoms arising in two other observed channels corresponds to O atoms produced by photodissociation of molecular oxygen in the excited a?(1)Δ(g) and b?(1)Σ(g) (+) singlet states as the precursors. This indicates the formation of singlet oxygen O(2)(a?(1)Δ(g)) and O(2)(b?(1)Σ(g) (+)) after excitation of the C(5)H(8)-O(2) complex. Cooperative excitation of the complex with a simultaneous change of the spin of both partners (1)X-(3)O(2) + hν → (3)X-(1)O(2) → (3)X + (1)O(2) is suggested as a source of singlet oxygen O(2)(a?(1)Δ(g)) and O(2)(b?(1)Σ(g) (+)). This cooperative excitation is in agreement with little or no vibrational excitation of O(2)(a?(1)Δ(g)), produced from the C(5)H(8)-O(2) complex as studied in the current paper as well as from the C(3)H(6)-O(2) and CH(3)I-O(2) complexes reported in our previous paper [Baklanov et al., J. Chem. Phys. 126, 124316 (2007)]. The formation of O(2)(a?(1)Δ(g)) from C(5)H(8)-O(2) was observed at λ(pump) = 213-277 nm with the yield going down towards the long wavelength edge of this interval. This spectral profile is interpreted as the red-side wing of the band of a cooperative transition (1)X-(3)O(2) + hν → (3)X(T(2))-(1)O(2)(a?(1)Δ(g)) in the C(5)H(8)-O(2) complex.  相似文献

The 0 K dissociative ionization onsets of C2H3X --> C2H3(+) + X (X = Cl, I) are measured by threshold photoelectron-photoion coincidence spectroscopy. The heats of formation of C2H3Cl (Delta H(f,0K)(0) = 30.2 +/- 3.2 kJ mol(-1) and Delta(H f,298K)(0) = 22.6 +/- 3.2 kJ mol(-1)) and C2H3I (Delta(H f,0K)(0) = 140.2 +/- 3.2 kJ mol(-1) and Delta(H f,298K)(0) = 131.2 +/- 3.2 kJ mol(-1)) and C- X bond dissociation enthalpies as well as those of their ions are determined. The data help resolve a longstanding discrepancy among experimental values of the vinyl chloride heat of formation, which now agrees with the latest theoretical determination. The reported vinyl iodide heat of formation is the first reliable experimental determination. Additionally, the adiabatic ionization energy of C2H3I (9.32 +/- 0.01 eV) is measured by threshold photoelectron spectroscopy.  相似文献

The ionization energies (IEs) for the 2-propyl (2-C(3)H(7)), phenyl (C(6)H(5)), and benzyl (C(6)H(5)CH(2)) radicals have been calculated by the wave-function-based ab initio CCSD(T)/CBS approach, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) limit at the coupled cluster level with single and double excitations plus quasiperturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)]. The zero-point vibrational energy correction, the core-valence electronic correction, and the scalar relativistic effect correction have been also made in these calculations. Although a precise IE value for the 2-C(3)H(7) radical has not been directly determined before due to the poor Franck-Condon factor for the photoionization transition at the ionization threshold, the experimental value deduced indirectly using other known energetic data is found to be in good accord with the present CCSD(T)/CBS prediction. The comparison between the predicted value through the focal-point analysis and the highly precise experimental value for the IE(C(6)H(5)CH(2)) determined in the previous pulsed field ionization photoelectron (PFI-PE) study shows that the CCSD(T)/CBS method is capable of providing an accurate IE prediction for C(6)H(5)CH(2), achieving an error limit of 35 meV. The benchmarking of the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)CH(2)) prediction suggests that the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)) prediction obtained here has a similar accuracy of 35 meV. Taking into account this error limit for the CCSD(T)/CBS prediction and the experimental uncertainty, the CCSD(T)/CBS IE(C(6)H(5)) value is also consistent with the IE(C(6)H(5)) reported in the previous HeI photoelectron measurement. Furthermore, the present study provides support for the conclusion that the CCSD(T)/CBS approach with high-level energy corrections can be used to provide reliable IE predictions for C(3)-C(7) hydrocarbon radicals with an uncertainty of +/-35 meV. Employing the atomization scheme, we have also computed the 0 K (298 K) heats of formation in kJ/mol at the CCSD(T)/CBS level for 2-C(3)H(7)/2-C(3)H(7) (+) ,C(6)H(5)/C(6)H(5) (+), and C(6)H(5)CH(2)/C(6)H(5)CH(2) (+) to be 105.2/822.7 (90.0/806.4), 351.4/1148.5 (340.4/1138.8), and 226.2/929.0 (210.3/912.7), respectively. Comparing these values with the available experimental values, we find that the discrepancies for the 0 and 298 K heats of formation values are < or =2.6 kJ/mol for 2-C(3)H(7)/2-C(3)H(7) (+),< or =4.1 kJ/mol for C(6)H(5)/C(6)H(5) (+), and < or =3.2 kJ//mol for C(6)H(5)CH(2)C(6)H(5)CH(2) (+).  相似文献

Using photoelectron spectroscopy, we interrogate the cyclic furanide anion (C(4)H(3)O(-)) to determine the electron affinity and vibrational structure of the neutral furanyl radical and the term energy of its first excited electronic state. We present the 364-nm photoelectron spectrum of the furanide anion and measure the electron affinity of the X?(2)A(') ground state of the α-furanyl radical to be 1.853(4) eV. A Franck-Condon analysis of the well-resolved spectrum allows determination of the harmonic frequencies of three of the most active vibrational modes upon X?(2)A(') ← X?(1)A(') photodetachment: 855(25), 1064(25), and 1307(40) cm(-1). These modes are ring deformation vibrations, consistent with the intuitive picture of furanide anion photodetachment, where the excess electron is strongly localized on the α-carbon atom. In addition, the A?(2)A(') excited state of the α-furanyl radical is observed 0.68(7) eV higher in energy than the X?(2)A(') ground state. Through a thermochemical cycle involving the known gas-phase acidity of furan, the electron affinity of the furanyl radical yields the first experimental determination of the C-H(α) bond dissociation energy of furan (DH(298)(C(4)H(3)O-H(α))): 119.8(2) kcal mol(-1).  相似文献

The vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) pulsed-field ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) spectra of trans-1-bromopropene (trans-CH(3)CH[Double Bond]CHBr) and cis-1-bromopropene (cis-CH(3)CH[Double Bond]CHBr) have been measured in the energy region of 74 720-76 840 cm(-1). The simulation of fine structures observed in the origin VUV-PFI-PE vibrational bands of these molecules has provided the ionization energies (IEs) of trans-1-bromopropene and cis-1-bromopropene to be 74 779.3+/-2.0 cm(-1) (9.2715+/-0.0002 eV) and 75 140.2+/-2.0 cm(-1) (9.3162+/-0.0002 eV), respectively. The vibrational bands resolved in these VUV-PFI-PE spectra at energies 0-1700 cm(-1) above the IEs of trans-1-bromopropene and cis-1-bromopropene have been assigned based on theoretical vibrational frequencies and calculated Franck-Condon factors for the ionization transitions.  相似文献

We have obtained a rotationally resolved vacuum ultraviolet pulsed ˉeld ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) spectrum of H2 in the energy range of 15.30-18.09 eV, covering the ionization transitions H2+(X2§+g ,v+=0-18, N+=0-5)?H2(X1§+g , v00=0, J00=0-4). The assignment of the rotational transitions resolved inthe VUV-PFI-PE vibrational bands for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) and their simulation using the Buckingham-Orr-Sichel (BOS) model are presented. Only the ¢N=N+?J00=0 and §2 rotational branches are observed in the VUV-PFI-PE spectrum of H2. However, the vibrational band is increasingly dominated by the 4N=0 rotational branch as v+ is increased. The BOS simulation reveals that the perturbation of VUV-PFI-PE rotational line intensities by near-resonance autoionizing Rydberg states is minor at v+?6 and decreases as v+ is increased. Thus, the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for H2+(v+?6) presented here providereliable estimates of state-to-state cross sections for direct photoionization of H2, while the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for H2+(v+·5) are useful data for fundamental understanding of the near resonance autoionizing mechanism. On the basis of the rovibrational assignment of the VUV-PFI-PE spectrum of H2, the ionization energies for the formation of H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18, N+=0-5) from H2+(X1§+g , v00=0,J00=0-4), the vibrational constants (!e, !e?e, !eye, and !eze), the rotational constants (Bv+, Dv+, Be,and ?e), and the vibrational energy spacings ¢G(v++1/2) for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) are determined. With a signiˉcantly higher photoelectron energy resolution achieved in the present study, the precisions of these spectroscopic values are higher than those obtained in the previous photoelectron studies. As expected, the spectroscopic results for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) derived from this VUV-PFI-PE study are in excellent agreement with high-level theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The ionization energies (IEs) for the 1-methylallyl, 2-methylallyl, cyclopropylmethyl, and cyclobutyl radicals have been calculated by the wave function based ab initio CCSD(T)/CBS approach, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) limit at the coupled cluster level with single and double excitations plus quasiperturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)]. The zero-point vibrational energy correction, the core-valence electronic correction, and the scalar relativistic effect correction are included in these calculations. The present CCSD(T)/CBS results are then compared with the IEs determined in the photoelectron experiment by Schultz et al. [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 106, 7336 (1984)] The predicted IE value (7.881 eV) of 2-methylallyl radical is found to compare very favorably with the experimental value of 7.90+/-0.02 eV. Two ionization transitions for cis-1-methylallyl and trans-1-methylallyl radicals have been considered here. The comparison between the predicted IE values and the previous measurements shows that the photoelectron peak observed by Schultz et al. likely corresponds to the adiabatic ionization transition for the trans-1-methylallyl radical to form trans-1-methylallyl cation. Although a precise IE value for the cyclopropylmethyl radical has not been directly determined, the experimental value deduced indirectly using other known energetic data is found to be in good accord with the present CCSD(T)/CBS prediction. We expect that the Franck-Condon factor for ionization transition of c-C4H7-->bicyclobutonium is much less favorable than that for ionization transition of c-C4H7-->planar-C4H7+, and the observed IE in the previous photoelectron experiment is likely due to the ionization transition for c-C4H7-->planar-C4H7+. Based on our CCSD(T)/CBS prediction, the ionization transition of c-C4H7-->bicyclobutonium with an IE value around 6.92 eV should be taken as the adiabatic ionization transition for the cyclobutyl radical. The present study provides support for the conclusion that the CCSD(T)/CBS approach with high-level energetic corrections can be used to provide reliable IE predictions for C4 hydrocarbon radicals with an uncertainty of +/-22 meV. The CCSD(T)/CBS predictions to the heats of formation for the aforementioned radicals and cations are also presented.  相似文献

High resolution photoelectron spectra of the n-methylvinoxide anion and its deuterated isotopologue are obtained by slow electron velocity-map imaging. Transitions between the X?(1)A' anion ground electronic state and the radical X?(2)A" and A?(2)A' states are observed. The major features in the spectra are attributed to transitions involving the lower energy cis conformers of the anion and neutral, while the higher energy trans conformers contribute only a single small peak. Franck-Condon simulations of the X?(2)A" ← X?(1)A' and A?(2)A' ← X?(1)A' transitions are performed to assign vibrational structure in the spectrum and to aid in identifying peaks in the cis-n-methylvinoxy X? (2)A" band that occur only through vibronic coupling. The experimental electron affinity and A? state term energy are found to be EA = 1.6106 ± 0.0008 eV and T(0) = 1.167 ± 0.002 eV for cis-n-methylvinoxy.
