We prove a Harnack inequality and regularity for solutions of a quasilinear strongly degenerate elliptic equation. We assume the coefficients of the structure conditions to belong to suitable Stummel–Kato classes.  相似文献

Applying a very general Gauss-Green theorem established for the generalized Riemann integral, we obtain simple proofs of new results about removable sets of singularities for the Laplace and minimal surface equations. We treat simultaneously singularities with respect to differentiability and continuity.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for a semilinear parabolic equation in divergence form with obstacle. We show that under natural conditions on the right-hand side of the equation and mild conditions on the obstacle, the problem has a unique solution and we provide its stochastic representation in terms of reflected backward stochastic differential equations. We also prove regularity properties and approximation results for solutions of the problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a notion of quasiconvex domain, and show that the global W1,p regularity holds on such domains for a wide class of divergence form elliptic equations. The modified Vitali covering lemma, compactness method and the maximal function technique are the main analytical tools.  相似文献

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical potential and indefinite weights is investigated. We obtain the simplicity, strict monotonicity and isolation of the first eigenvalue λ1. Furthermore, because of the isolation of λ1, we prove the existence of the second eigenvalue λ2. Then, using the Trudinger-Moser inequality, we obtain the existence of a nontrivial weak solution for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical singularity and indefinite weights in the case of 0<λ<λ1 by the Mountain Pass Lemma, and in the case of λ1λ<λ2 by the Linking Argument Theorem.  相似文献

In this paper we deal with noncoercive elliptic systems of divergence type, that include both the p-Laplacian and the mean curvature operator and whose right-hand sides depend also on a gradient factor. We prove that any nonnegative entire (weak) solution is necessarily constant. The main argument of our proofs is based on previous estimates, given in Filippucci (2009) [12] for elliptic inequalities. Actually, the main technique for proving the central estimate has been developed by Mitidieri and Pohozaev (2001) [23] and relies on the method of test functions. No use of comparison and maximum principles or assumptions on symmetry or behavior at infinity of the solutions are required.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of infinitely many nontrivial solutions for a class of semilinear elliptic equations −△u+a(x)u=g(x,u)u+a(x)u=g(x,u) in a bounded smooth domain of RN(N≥3)RN(N3) with the Dirichlet boundary value, where the primitive of the nonlinearity gg is of superquadratic growth near infinity in uu and the potential aa is allowed to be sign-changing. Recent results in the literature are generalized and significantly improved.  相似文献

We establish the existence of solutions for a class of quasilinear degenerate elliptic equations. The equations in this class satisfy a structure condition which provides ellipticity in the interior of the domain, and degeneracy only on the boundary. Equations of transonic gas dynamics, for example, satisfy this property in the region of subsonic flow and are degenerate across the sonic surface. We prove that the solution is smooth in the interior of the domain but may exhibit singular behavior at the degenerate boundary. The maximal rate of blow-up at the degenerate boundary is bounded by the “degree of degeneracy” in the principal coefficients of the quasilinear elliptic operator. Our methods and results apply to the problems recently studied by several authors which include the unsteady transonic small disturbance equation, the pressure-gradient equations of the compressible Euler equations, and the singular quasilinear anisotropic elliptic problems, and extend to the class of equations which satisfy the structure condition, such as the shallow water equation, compressible isentropic two-dimensional Euler equations, and general two-dimensional nonlinear wave equations. Our study provides a general framework to analyze degenerate elliptic problems arising in the self-similar reduction of a broad class of two-dimensional Cauchy problems.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear elliptic equations driven by the p-Laplacian differential operator. Using degree theoretic arguments based on the degree map for operators of type (S)+ , we prove theorems on the existence of multiple nontrivial solutions of constant sign.  相似文献

In this article, we prove that there are three positive solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation in a bounded symmetric domain t for large t>0 in which one is axially symmetric and the other two are nonaxially symmetric. Main tools are the Palais-Smale theory.  相似文献

Starting with the famous article [A. Gidas, W.M. Ni, L. Nirenberg, Symmetry and related properties via the maximum principle, Comm. Math. Phys. 68 (1979) 209-243], many papers have been devoted to the uniqueness question for positive solutions of −Δu=λu+up in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where p>1 and λ ranges between 0 and the first Dirichlet eigenvalue λ1(Ω) of −Δ. For the case when Ω is a ball, uniqueness could be proved, mainly by ODE techniques. But very little is known when Ω is not a ball, and then only for λ=0. In this article, we prove uniqueness, for all λ∈[0,λ1(Ω)), in the case Ω=2(0,1) and p=2. This constitutes the first positive answer to the uniqueness question in a domain different from a ball. Our proof makes heavy use of computer assistance: we compute a branch of approximate solutions and prove existence of a true solution branch close to it, using fixed point techniques. By eigenvalue enclosure methods, and an additional analytical argument for λ close to λ1(Ω), we deduce the non-degeneracy of all solutions along this branch, whence uniqueness follows from the known bifurcation structure of the problem.  相似文献
