This paper deals with the Cauchy problem for nonlinear first order partial functional differential equations. The unknown function is the functional variable in the equation and the partial derivatives appear in a classical sense. A theorem on the local existence of a generalized solution is proved. The initial problem is transformed into a system of functional integral equations for an unknown function and for their partial derivatives with respect to spatial variables. The existence of solutions of this system is proved by using a method of successive approximations. A method of bicharacteristics and integral inequalities are applied.  相似文献

A three species food web comprising of two preys and one predator in an isolated homogeneous habitat is considered. The preys are assumed to grow logistically. The predator follows modified Leslie-Gower dynamics and feeds upon the prey species according to Holling Type II functional response. The local stability of the constant positive steady state of the corresponding temporal system and the spatio-temporal system are discussed. The existence and non-existence of non-constant positive steady states are investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with a system of nonlinear partial differential equations modeling a predator-prey system in heterogeneous habitats. Preys are assumed to follow a logistic growth in the absence of predation, and predators are assumed to feed on preys with a Holling type II functional response to prey density. Also, interactions between predators are modelized by the statement of a food pyramid condition. Assuming no-flux boundary conditions and L1 data, we prove the existence of at least one weak solution.  相似文献

The existence of an attractor for a 2D-Navier-Stokes system with delay is proved. The theory of pullback attractors is successfully applied to obtain the results since the abstract functional framework considered turns out to be nonautonomous. However, on some occasions, the attractors may attract not only in the pullback sense but in the forward one as well. Also, this formulation allows to treat, in a unified way, terms containing various classes of delay features (constant, variable, distributed delays, etc.). As a consequence, some results for the autonomous model are deduced as particular cases of our general formulation.  相似文献

A diffusive Lotka-Volterra type model with nonlocal delays for two competitive species is considered. The existence of a traveling wavefront analogous to a bistable wavefront for a single species is proved by transforming the system with nonlocal delays to a four-dimensional system without delay. Furthermore, in order to prove the asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts of the system, the existence, regularity and comparison theorem of solutions of the corresponding Cauchy problem are first established for the systems on R by appealing to the theory of abstract functional differential equations. The asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts are then proved by spectral methods. In particular, we also prove that the spreading speed is unique by upper and lower solutions technique. From the point of view of ecology, our results indicate that the nonlocal delays appeared in the interaction terms are not sensitive to the invasion of species of spatial isolation.  相似文献

Two monotone iterative methods for an infinite system of parabolic functional differential equations with initial boundary conditions are constructed: the method of direct iterations and the Chaplygin method. By using the first one the existence theorem is proved. Next, it is shown that the Chaplygin sequences converge quadratically to the unique solution of the original problem.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling wave solutions in a diffusive system with two preys and one predator. By constructing upper and lower solutions, the existence of nontrivial traveling wave solutions is established. The asymptotic behavior of traveling wave solutions is also confirmed by combining the asymptotic spreading with the contracting rectangles. Applying the theory of asymptotic spreading, the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions is proved.  相似文献

Recently, Teo and Ahmed [17] have established the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a class of systems governed by second order quasilinear parabolic integro-partial differential equations. In their system equation, all but the second order coefficients are assumed to be bounded and measurable while more restrictive assumptions are imposed on the second order coefficients. In this paper, their results are generalized so that the second order coefficients can also be assumed to be bounded and measurable. However, the parabolic integro-partial differential equation is in divergence form and the solution of the system under consideration is in the sense of Aronson [1]. Our main result is presented in Theorem 3.6 which is proved using several fundamental results reported by Aronson [1].  相似文献

We investigate a class of non-linear partial differential equations with discrete state-dependent delays. The existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for initial functions from a Banach space are proved. A model for the spatio-temporal evolution of three biological species in a food chain model consisting of two competitive preys and one predator with intra-specific competition is considered. Besides diffusing, the predator species moves toward higher concentrations of a chemical substance produced by the prey. The prey, in turn, moves away from high concentrations of a substance secreted by the predators. The resulting reaction–diffusion system consists of three parabolic equations along with three elliptic equations describing the diffusion of the chemical substances. The local existence of nonnegative solutions is proved. Then uniform estimates in Lebesgue spaces are provided. These estimates lead to boundedness and global well-posedness for the system. Numerical simulations are presented and discussed.  相似文献

A nonlinear transport problem of hyperbolic–elliptic type is studied. Estimates of potentials over varying domains and the method of characteristics enable one to treat the initial value problem for Hölder continuous data as an abstract evolution equation via Picard–Lindelöf theorem. In addition, existence for all times is proved. Similar techniques yield the existence of shock front solutions with smooth interfaces at least for a small time interval. By a priori estimates of approximating solutions, the results extend to the case of only bounded initial values. A modification of the system applies to the construction of a diffeomorphism with prescribed Jacobian determinant.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the frictional contact between a deformable body and a foundation. The process is quasistatic, the material is assumed to be viscoelastic with long memory and the frictional contact is modelled with subdifferential boundary conditions. The mechanical damage of the material is described by the damage function, which is modelled by a nonlinear partial differential equation. We derive the variational formulation of the problem, which is a coupled system of a hemivariational inequality and a parabolic equation. Then we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on arguments of abstract stationary inclusion and a fixed point theorem.  相似文献

The existence and uniqueness of a variational solution satisfying energy equality is proved for a semilinear heat equation in a non-cylindrical domain with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition, under the assumption that the spatial domains are bounded and increase with time. It is shown that local asymptotic instability is related to the existence of a positive Lyapunov exponent which is a necessary condition for chaos. Also it is proved that linear transformations do not affect the dynamical behaviour of the system. A generalized Lotka–Volterra (GLV) model is introduced and proved that for specific choices of parameters it exhibits chaos. Knots and links which arise from the system which describe the behaviour of a typical nuclear spin are studied. We conjecture that knots and links associated GLV is much more general than Lorenz knots, and the one predator – two preys LV model exhibits chaos for general parameters.  相似文献

This research explores the Cauchy problem for a class of quasi-linear wave equations with time dependent sources. It can be transformed into the Cauchy problem of hyperbolic integro-differential systems of nonlinear balance laws. We introduce the generalized Glimm scheme in new version and study its stability which is proved by Glimm-type interaction estimates in a dissipativity assumption. The generalized solutions to the perturbed Riemann problems, the building blocks of generalized Glimm scheme, are constructed by Riemann problem method modeled on the source free equations. The global existence for the Lipschitz continuous solutions and weak solutions to the systems is established by the consistency of scheme and the weak convergence of source. Finally, the weak solutions are also the entropy solutions which satisfy the entropy inequality.  相似文献

In this work the existence of a global attractor is proved for the solution semiflow of the coupled two-compartment Gray-Scott equations with the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition on a bounded domain of space dimension n≤3. The grouping estimation method combined with a new decomposition approach is introduced to overcome the difficulties in proving the absorbing property and the asymptotic compactness of this four-component reaction-diffusion systems with cubic autocatalytic nonlinearity and linear coupling. In this paper we will focus on a parabolic degenerate system with respect to unknown functions u and w on a bounded domain of the two dimensional Euclidean space. This system appears as a mathematical model for some biological processes. Global existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative classical Hölder continuous solution are proved. In this note we prove the uniqueness of weak solutions to a nonlinear hyperbolic system in electrohydrodynamics without the effects of a dissociation–recombination process. It is still open in the presence of a special dissociation–recombination process, although the existence of at least one weak solution was proved via the method of renormalized solutions by Feireisl [E. Feireisl, Weak solutions to a non-linear hyperbolic system arising in the theory of dielectric liquids, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 18 (1995) 1041–1052] in 1995.  相似文献
