The propagation of linear and nonlinear dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) are studied in a collisionless magnetized plasma which consists of warm ions having anisotropic thermal pressure, nonthermal (energetic) electrons and static dust particles of positive and negative charge polarity. The anisotropic ion pressure is defined using double adiabatic Chew‐Golberger‐Low (CGL) theory. In the linear regime, the propagation properties of the two possible modes are investigated via ion pressure anisotropy, dust particle polarity and nonthermality of electrons. Using reductive method Zakharov‐Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived for the propagation of two dimensional electrostatic dust ion acoustic solitary waves in dusty plasmas. It is found that both compressive and rarefactive solitons are formed in presence of nonthermal electrons using Cairn's distribution [R.A. Cairns, A.A. Mamun, R. Bingham, R.O. Dendy, R. Bostrom, C.M.C. Nairn and P.K. Shukla, Geophys.Res. Lett. 22 , 2709 (1995)] in the system. The ion pressure anisotropy, nonthermality of electrons and charge polarity of the dust particles have significant effects on the amplitude and width of the dust ion acoustic solitary waves in such anisotropic nonthermal magnetized dusty plasmas. The numerical results are also presented for illustration. Our finding is applicable to space dusty plasma regimes having anisotropic ion pressure and nonthermal electrons. The quantum hydrodynamic model is employed to study the nonlinear structure of non-planar dust acoustic waves in quantum dusty plasmas consisting of electrons, ions, and negatively/positively charged dust particles. A Kadomstev-Petviashvili equation is derived in cylindrical geometry. Based on the analytical solution, it is found that the Nebulon structure is significantly modified by the quantum effects including quantum diffraction effect and quantum statistical effect.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Nonlinear propagation of dust-ion-acoustic shock waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless four-component quantum plasma containing electrons, positrons, ions and negatively charged dust grains affected by dust charge variations and viscosity of ions is studied using quantum hydrodynamic model. Considering dust charge variation give rise to calculating of charging currents of the plasma particles. These currents have been calculated with orbit limited motion theory and using Fermi-distribution functions or Boltzmann–Maxwell distribution depending on quantum or classical particles, respectively. The basic characteristics of quantum dust-ion-acoustic shock waves are investigated by deriving Korteweg–de Vries–Burgers equation under the reductive perturbation method. Depending on the relative values of the dispersive and dissipative coefficients, oscillatory and monotonic shock waves can propagate in the plasma model. The effect of chemical potential and density of dust particles on the shock wave’s height and thickness is investigated. In addition, the critical value of H (Hc) is calculated and it is shown that for R?>?0 compressive shock waves and for R?<?0 rarefactive ones can exist. The present study is applicable to researchers on quantum nonlinear structures in dense astrophysical objects and ultra-small micro- and nano-electronic devices.  相似文献

Both linear and nonlinear excitation in dusty plasmas have been investigated including the nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation and Gaussian size distribution dust particles. A linear dispersion relation and a Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation governing the dust acoustic shock waves are obtained. The relevance of the instability of wave and the wave evolution to the dust size distribution and nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation is illustrated both analytically and numerically. The numerical results show that the Gaussian size distribution of dust particles and the nonadiabatic dust charge fluctuation have strong common influence on the propagation of both linear and nonlinear excitations.  相似文献

Dust ion-acoustic solitary waves in unmagnetized quantum plasmas are studied in spherical and cylindrical geometries. Using quantum hydrodynamic model, the electrostatic waves are investigated in the weakly nonlinear limit. A deformed Korteweg-de Vries (dKdV) equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method and its numerical solutions are also presented. The quantum diffraction and quantum statistical effects incorporated in the system modifies the characteristics of dust ion-acoustic waves in cylindrical and spherical geometries. The role of stationary dust particles in quantum plasmas are also discussed. It is shown that the cylindrical and spherical dust ion-acoustic solitary waves behave quite differently from one-dimensional planar solitary waves in quantum plasmas.  相似文献

A dusty multi-ion plasma system consisting of non-isothermal (trapped) electrons, Maxwellian (isothermal) light positive ions, warm heavy negative ions and extremely massive charge fluctuating stationary dust have been considered. The dust-ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves associated with negative ion dynamics, Maxwellian (isothermal) positive ions, trapped electrons and charge fluctuating stationary dust have been investigated by employing the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of such dust-ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves have been identified. The implications of our findings in space and laboratory dusty multi-ion plasmas are discussed.  相似文献

The effects of dust size distribution and dust charge fluctuation of dust grains on the small but finite amplitude nonlinear dust ion-acoustic shock waves, in an unmagnetized multi-ion dusty plasma which contains negative ions, positive ions and electrons, are studied in this paper. A Burgers equation and its stationary solutions are obtained by using the reductive perturbation method. The analytical and numerical results show that the height with polynomial dust size distribution is larger than that of the monosized dusty plasmas with the same dust grains, but the thickness in the case of different dust grains is smaller than that of the monosized dusty plasmas. Furthermore, the moving speed of the shock waves also depend on different dust size distributions.  相似文献

A dusty plasma system containing Boltzmann electrons, mobile ions and charge fluctuating stationary dust has been considered. The nonlinear propagation of the dust-ion-acoustic waves in such a dusty plasma has been investigated by employing the reductive perturbation method. It has been shown that the dust charge fluctuation is a source of dissipation and is responsible for the formation of the dust-ion-acoustic shock waves. The basic features of such dust-ion-acoustic shock waves have been identified. The implications of our results in space and laboratory dusty plasmas are discussed.  相似文献

By employing the reductive perturbation technique we derived a Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation for unmagnetized dusty plasmas,It suggests that the nonlinear dust acoustic solitary waves with adiabatic variation of dust charge are stable even there are some higher order transverse perturbatoins,There are only rarefactive solitary waves for this system which has been verified analytically in this paper.  相似文献

The 2-D generalized variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Burgers equation representing many types of acoustic waves in cosmic and/or laboratory dusty plasmas is reduced by the modified classical direct similarity reduction method to nonlinear ordinary differential equation of fourth-order. Using the extended Riccati equation mapping method for solving the reduced equation, many new shock wave, solitary wave and periodic wave solutions are obtained with some constraints between the variable coefficients. Finally, some physical interpretations for the obtained solutions as, bright and dark solitons, periodic solitary wave, and shock wave in dust plasma and quantum plasma are achieved.  相似文献

The propagation of three-dimensional nonlinear dust-acoustic and dust-Coulomb waves in unmagnetized/magnetized dusty plasmas consisting of electrons, ions, and charged dust particles is investigated. The grain charge fluctuation effect is also incorporated through the current balance equation. By using the perturbation method, a Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation and a Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation governing the nonlinear waves in the unmagnetized and magnetized systems are obtained respectively. It has been shown that with the combined effects of grain charge fluctuation, the transverse perturbation, and the external magnetic field would modify the wave structures. Waves in those systems are unstable to the high-order long-wave perturbations.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In framework of the extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo, the properties of dust acoustic (DA) solitary wave’s interaction are investigated in four-component quantum dusty plasma. Two Korteweg–de Vries equations describing the colliding DA solitary waves are derived by eliminating the secularities. By knowing the explicit form of the solitary wave solutions, the leading phase changes, trajectories and phase shifts are obtained, accordingly. The effects of various physical parameters such as the quantum mechanical parameters, the charge ratio between positive and negative dust particles, the mass ratio between negative and positive dust particles and the ratio of electron to ion temperatures are studied extensively. Our findings showed that these parameters play a significant role on the characteristics and basic features of DA solitary waves such as phase shifts in trajectories due to collision. The obtained results may be beneficial to understand well the collision of DA solitary waves that may occur in laboratory plasmas, space plasma as well as in plasma applications.  相似文献

The effects of head-on collision on dust acoustic (DA) solitary and shock waves in dusty plasma are investigated considering positively charged inertial dust, Boltzmann distributed negatively charged heavy ions, positively charged light ions, and superthermal electrons in the plasma system. The nonlinear Korteweg-de-Vries (KdV) Burger equations are derived taking the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo method into account to study the characteristic properties of nonlinearity and production of solitary shock due to collisions. The study reveals that the amplitudes and widths of the DA shock waves are decreasing with increasing viscosity, electron to dust density ratio, and dust to ion temperature ratio, while they are increasing due to the presence of superthermal electrons. The nonlinearity of DA waves are enhanced with increasing density ratio of electron to dust and temperature ratio of dust to ion and electron, respectively, but it is reducing with superthermal electrons. The phase shifts of DA solitary waves are found to decrease with rising superthermality of electrons and increase with the density ratio of electron to dust.  相似文献

The quantum hydrodynamic model is employed to study the soliton and chaotic structures of dust ion-acoustic waves in quantum dusty plasmas consisting of electrons, ions, and negatively/positively charged dust particles. By means of the reductive perturbation technique, two-dimensional Davey-Stewartson (DS) system is derived. By improving the extended projective method and the extended tanh-function method, a separation of variables solution with arbitrary functions for the Davey-Stewartson system is obtained. Many soliton and chaotic structures such as localized nonlinear coherent structure, line-soliton structure, periodic wave pattern structure, Rössler and Lorenz chaotic structures are given. It is found that these structures are effected by the quantum effects.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ultra-low-frequency dust-acoustic (DA) waves in a strongly coupled cryogenic dusty plasma has been investigated, by using the Boltzmann distributed electrons and ions, as well as modified hydrodynamic equations for strongly coupled charged dust grains. The reductive perturbation technique is used to derive the Burger equation. It is shown that strong correlations among negatively charged dust particles acts like a dissipation, which is responsible for the formation of the DA shock waves. The latter are associated with the negative potential, i.e. with the compression of negatively charged cryogenic dust particle density. It is also found that the effective dust-temperature, which arises from electrostatic interactions among negatively charged dust particles, significantly affects the height of the DA shock structures. New laboratory experiments at cryogenic temperature should be conducted to verify our theoretical prediction.  相似文献

The nonlinear features of dust acoustic waves (DAWs) propagating in a multicomponent dusty plasma with negative dust grains, Maxwellian ions, and double spectral electron distribution (DSED) are investigated. A Korteweg de Vries Burgers equation (KdVB) is derived in the presence of the polarization force using the reductive perturbation technique (RPT). In the absence of the dissipation effect, the bifurcation analysis is introduced and various types of solutions are obtained. One of these solutions is the rarefactive solitary wave solution. Additionally, in the presence of the dissipation effects, the tanh method is employed to find out the solution of KdVB equation. Both of the monotonic and the oscillatory shock structures are numerically investigated. It is found that the correlation between dissipation and dispersion terms participates strongly in creating the dust acoustic shock wave. The limit of the DSED to the Maxwell distribution is examined. The distortional effects in the profile of the shock wave that result by increasing the values of the flatness parameter, r, and the tail parameter, q, are investigated. In addition, it has been shown that the proportional increase in the value of the polarization parameter R enhances in both of the strength of the monotonic shock wave and the amplitude of the oscillatory shock wave. The effectiveness of non-Maxwellian distributions, like DSED, in several of plasma situations is discussed as well.  相似文献

The electrodynamics and dispersion properties of a magnetized dusty plasma containing elongated and rotating charged dust grains are examined. Starting from an appropriate Lagrangian for dust grains, a kinetic equation for the dust grain and the corresponding equations of motion are derived. Expressions for the dust charge and dust current densities are obtained with the finite size (the dipole moment) of elongated and rotating dust grains taken into account. These charge and current densities are combined with the Maxwell-Vlasov system of equations to derive dispersion relations for the electromagnetic and electrostatic waves in a dusty magnetoplasma. The dispersion relations are analyzed to demonstrate that the dust grain rotation introduces new classes of instabilities involving various low-frequency waves in a dusty magnetoplasma. Examples of various unstable low-frequency waves include the electron whistler, the dust whistler, dust cyclotron waves, AlfvÉn waves, electromagnetic ion-cyclotron waves, as well as lower-hybrid, electrostatic ion cyclotron, modified dust ion-acoustic waves, etc. Also found is a new type of unstable waves whose frequency is close to the dust grain rotation frequency. The present results should be useful in understanding the properties of low-frequency waves in cosmic and laboratory plasmas that are embedded in an external magnetic field and contain elongated and rotating charged dust grains.  相似文献

The physical and optical properties of plasmas are depended on dynamics of species in the discharge volume. Then, the presence of an electron beam, as a separate component, in a dusty plasma can modify the plasma structures through altering the discharge parameters. In this report, the linear propagation of acoustic modes in a collisionless dusty plasma contains electrons, ions and charged dust grains is investigated in the presence of an electron beam. Our analysis indicates that the electron beam can modify the dispersion relations of dust acoustic modes which resulted different data transportation in dusty plasmas. The obtained results are also examined for negative and positive charged dust grains with different number densities. The charge of dust grains represents an important role in the dynamics of the low frequency waves. Additionally, our findings reveal that the propagation of acoustic waves in dusty plasmas can be controlled by adjusting the electron number density of the beam and the cathode potential. Lastly, we obtian the destabilizing effects, originated from dust charge fluctuation, by reconsidering the dispersion relations of both dust acoustic modes.  相似文献

A review of some problems of electrostatic waves in dusty plasmas is presented. It is concluded that in the most models of waves in dusty plasmas, the charge numbers of the ions and dusty grains are supposed to be constant. Besides most of the studies are elated to linear waves in collisionless systems. It is shown that even if the dynamics of dusty grains is not considered in the models, the physical processes causing wave dissipation have to be taken into account. The existing nonlinear models are mostly one‐dimensional ones. It is summarized that in dusty plasmas various types of nonlinear stationary structures may exist, and that these structures differ from the nonlinear structures found in ionospheric plasmas without dust. The nonlinear electrostatic stuctures seem to be observable in ionospheric, solar or interplanetary plasmas.  相似文献
