Let \(R\) be a prime ring, \(L\) a noncentral Lie ideal of \(R\), \(F\) a generalized derivation with associated nonzero derivation \(d\) of \(R\). If \(a\in R\) such that \(a(d(u)^{l_1} F(u)^{l_2} d(u)^{l_3} F(u)^{l_4} \ldots F(u)^{l_k})^{n}=0\) for all \(u\in L\), where \(l_1,l_2,\ldots ,l_k\) are fixed non negative integers not all are zero and \(n\) is a fixed integer, then either \(a=0\) or \(R\) satisfies \(s_4\), the standard identity in four variables.  相似文献

Let q be a prime power and let \({\mathbb {F}}_q\) be a finite field with q elements. This paper discusses the explicit factorizations of cyclotomic polynomials over \(\mathbb {F}_q\). Previously, it has been shown that to obtain the factorizations of the \(2^{n}r\)th cyclotomic polynomials, one only need to solve the factorizations of a finite number of cyclotomic polynomials. This paper shows that with an additional condition that \(q\equiv 1 \pmod p\), the result can be generalized to the \(p^{n}r\)th cyclotomic polynomials, where p is an arbitrary odd prime. Applying this result we discuss the factorization of cyclotomic polynomials over finite fields. As examples we give the explicit factorizations of the \(3^{n}\)th, \(3^{n}5\)th and \(3^{n}7\)th cyclotomic polynomials.  相似文献

We prove that for each prime p, positive integer \(\alpha \), and non-negative integers \(\beta \) and \(\gamma \), the Diophantine equation \(X^{2N} + 2^{2\alpha }5^{2\beta }{p}^{2\gamma } = Z^5\) has no solution with N, X, \(Z\in \mathbb {Z}^+\), \(N > 1\), and \(\gcd (X,Z) = 1\).  相似文献

The definite integrals \( \int _{-1}^1x[P_\nu (x)]^4\mathrm{d}x\) and \( \int _{0}^1x[P_\nu (x)]^2\{[P_\nu (x)]^2-[P_\nu (-x)]^2\}\mathrm{d}x\) are evaluated in closed form, where \( P_\nu \) stands for the Legendre function of degree \( \nu \in \mathbb C\). Special cases of these integral formulae have appeared in arithmetic studies of automorphic Green’s functions and Epstein zeta functions.  相似文献

We develop structural insights into the Littlewood–Richardson graph, whose number of vertices equals the Littlewood–Richardson coefficient \(c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu }\) for given partitions \(\lambda \), \(\mu \), and \(\nu \). This graph was first introduced in Bürgisser and Ikenmeyer (SIAM J Discrete Math 27(4):1639–1681, 2013), where its connectedness was proved. Our insights are useful for the design of algorithms for computing the Littlewood–Richardson coefficient: We design an algorithm for the exact computation of \(c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu }\) with running time \(\mathcal {O}\big ((c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu })^2 \cdot {\textsf {poly}}(n)\big )\), where \(\lambda \), \(\mu \), and \(\nu \) are partitions of length at most n. Moreover, we introduce an algorithm for deciding whether \(c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu } \ge t\) whose running time is \(\mathcal {O}\big (t^2 \cdot {\textsf {poly}}(n)\big )\). Even the existence of a polynomial-time algorithm for deciding whether \(c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu } \ge 2\) is a nontrivial new result on its own. Our insights also lead to the proof of a conjecture by King et al. (Symmetry in physics. American Mathematical Society, Providence, 2004), stating that \(c_{\lambda ,\mu }^{\nu }=2\) implies \(c_{M\lambda ,M\mu }^{M\nu } = M+1\) for all \(M \in \mathbb {N}\). Here, the stretching of partitions is defined componentwise.  相似文献

Let \(\Delta = \sum _{m=0}^\infty q^{(2m+1)^2} \in \mathbf {F}_2[[q]]\) be the reduction mod 2 of the \(\Delta \) series. A modular form of level 1, \(f=\sum _{n\geqslant 0} c(n) \,q^n\), with integer coefficients, is congruent modulo \(2\) to a polynomial in \(\Delta \). Let us set \(W_f(x)=\sum _{n\leqslant x,\ c(n)\text { odd }} 1\), the number of odd Fourier coefficients of \(f\) of index \(\leqslant x\). The order of magnitude of \(W_f(x)\) (for \(x\rightarrow \infty \)) has been determined by Serre in the seventies. Here, we give an asymptotic equivalent for \(W_f(x)\). Let \(p(n)\) be the partition function and \(A_0(x)\) (resp. \(A_1(x)\)) be the number of \(n\leqslant x\) such that \(p(n)\) is even (resp. odd). In the preceding papers, the second-named author has shown that \(A_0(x)\geqslant 0.28 \sqrt{x\;\log \log x}\) for \(x\geqslant 3\) and \(A_1(x)>\frac{4.57 \sqrt{x}}{\log x}\) for \(x\geqslant 7\). Here, it is proved that \(A_0(x)\geqslant 0.069 \sqrt{x}\;\log \log x\) holds for \(x>1\) and that \(A_1(x) \geqslant \frac{0.037 \sqrt{x}}{(\log x)^{7/8}}\) holds for \(x\geqslant 2\). The main tools used to prove these results are the determination of the order of nilpotence of a modular form of level-\(1\) modulo \(2\), and of the structure of the space of those modular forms as a module over the Hecke algebra, which have been given in a recent work of Serre and the second-named author.  相似文献

Let G be a Polish locally compact group acting on a Polish space \({{X}}\) with a G-invariant probability measure \(\mu \). We factorize the integral with respect to \(\mu \) in terms of the integrals with respect to the ergodic measures on X, and show that \(\mathrm {L}^{p}({{X}},\mu )\) (\(1\le p<\infty \)) is G-equivariantly isometrically lattice isomorphic to an \({\mathrm {L}^p}\)-direct integral of the spaces \(\mathrm {L}^{p}({{X}},\lambda )\), where \(\lambda \) ranges over the ergodic measures on X. This yields a disintegration of the canonical representation of G as isometric lattice automorphisms of \(\mathrm {L}^{p}({{X}},\mu )\) as an \({\mathrm {L}^p}\)-direct integral of order indecomposable representations. If \(({{X}}^\prime ,\mu ^\prime )\) is a probability space, and, for some \(1\le q<\infty \), G acts in a strongly continuous manner on \(\mathrm {L}^{q}({{X}}^\prime ,\mu ^\prime )\) as isometric lattice automorphisms that leave the constants fixed, then G acts on \(\mathrm {L}^{p}({{X}}^{\prime },\mu ^{\prime })\) in a similar fashion for all \(1\le p<\infty \). Moreover, there exists an alternative model in which these representations originate from a continuous action of G on a compact Hausdorff space. If \(({{X}}^\prime ,\mu ^\prime )\) is separable, the representation of G on \(\mathrm {L}^p(X^\prime ,\mu ^\prime )\) can then be disintegrated into order indecomposable representations. The notions of \({\mathrm {L}^p}\)-direct integrals of Banach spaces and representations that are developed extend those in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper we study the difference between the 2-adic valuations of the cardinalities \( \# E( \mathbb {F}_{q^k} ) \) and \( \# E( \mathbb {F}_q ) \) of an elliptic curve E over \( \mathbb {F}_q \). We also deduce information about the structure of the 2-Sylow subgroup \( E[ 2^\infty ]( \mathbb {F}_{q^k} ) \) from the exponents of \( E[ 2^\infty ]( \mathbb {F}_q ) \).  相似文献

Let \(R_{k}\) denote the polynomial residue ring \(F_{2^m}[u]/\langle u^{k} \rangle \), where \(2^{j-1}+1\le k\le 2^{j}\) for some positive integer \(j\). Motivated by the work in [1], we introduce a new Gray map from \(R_{k}\) to \(F_{2^m}^{2^{j}}\). It is proved that the Gray image of a linear \((1+u)\) constacyclic code of an arbitrary length \(N\) over \(R_{k}\) is a distance invariant linear cyclic code of length \(2^{j}N\) over \(F_{2^m}\). Moreover, the generator polynomial of the Gray image of such a constacyclic code is determined, and some optimal linear cyclic codes over \(F_{2}\) and \(F_{4}\) are constructed under this Gray map.  相似文献

Assume that a quadratic matrix-valued function \(\psi (X) = Q - X^{\prime }PX\) is given and let \(\mathcal{S} = \left\{ X\in {\mathbb R}^{n \times m} \, | \, \mathrm{trace}[\,(AX - B)^{\prime }(AX - B)\,] = \min \right\} \) be the set of all least-squares solutions of the linear matrix equation \(AX = B\). In this paper, we first establish explicit formulas for calculating the maximum and minimum ranks and inertias of \(\psi (X)\) subject to \(X \in {\mathcal S}\), and then derive from the formulas the analytic solutions of the two optimization problems \(\psi (X) =\max \) and \(\psi (X)= \min \) subject to \(X \in \mathcal{S}\) in the Löwner partial ordering. As applications, we present a variety of results on equalities and inequalities of the ordinary least squares estimators of unknown parameter vectors in general linear models.  相似文献

Let \(X, X_{1}, X_{2}, \ldots \) be i.i.d. random variables, and set \(S_{n}=X_{1}+\cdots +X_{n}\) and \( V_{n}^{2}=X_{1}^{2}+\cdots +X_{n}^{2}.\) Without any moment conditions on \(X\), assuming that \(\{S_{n}/V_{n}\}\) is tight, we establish convergence of series of the type (*) \(\sum \nolimits _{n}w_{n}P(\left| S_{n}\right| /V_{n}\ge \varepsilon b_{n}),\) \(\varepsilon >0.\) Then, assuming that \(X\) is symmetric and belongs to the domain of attraction of a stable law, and choosing \(w_{n}\) and \(b_{n}\) suitably\(,\) we derive the precise asymptotic behavior of the series (*) as \(\varepsilon \searrow 0. \)  相似文献

Let \(b_{\ell }(n)\) denote the number of \(\ell \)-regular partitions of n. By employing the modular equation of seventh order, we establish the following congruence for \(b_{7}(n)\) modulo powers of 7: for \(n\ge 0\) and \(j\ge 1\),
$$\begin{aligned} b_{7}\left( 7^{2j-1}n+\frac{3\cdot 7^{2j}-1}{4}\right) \equiv 0 \pmod {7^j}. \end{aligned}$$
We also find some infinite families of congruences modulo 2 and 7 satisfied by \(b_{7}(n)\).

In this paper we are concerned with the multiplicity of solutions for the following fractional Laplace problem
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} (-\Delta )^{s}u= \mu |u|^{q-2}u + |u|^{2^*_s-2}u &{}\quad \text{ in } \Omega \\ u=0 &{}\quad \text{ in } {\mathbb {R}}^n{\setminus } \Omega , \end{array}\right. \end{aligned}$$
where \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb {R}}^n\) is an open bounded set with continuous boundary, \(n>2s\) with \(s\in (0,1),(-\Delta )^{s}\) is the fractional Laplacian operator, \(\mu \) is a positive real parameter, \(q\in [2, 2^*_s)\) and \(2^*_s=2n/(n-2s)\) is the fractional critical Sobolev exponent. Using the Lusternik–Schnirelman theory, we relate the number of nontrivial solutions of the problem under consideration with the topology of \(\Omega \). Precisely, we show that the problem has at least \(cat_{\Omega }(\Omega )\) nontrivial solutions, provided that \(q=2\) and \(n\geqslant 4s\) or \(q\in (2, 2^*_s)\) and \(n>2s(q+2)/q\), extending the validity of well-known results for the classical Laplace equation to the fractional nonlocal setting.

Define \(g_n(x)=\sum _{k=0}^n\left( {\begin{array}{c}n\\ k\end{array}}\right) ^2\left( {\begin{array}{c}2k\\ k\end{array}}\right) x^k\) for \(n=0,1,2,\ldots \). Those numbers \(g_n=g_n(1)\) are closely related to Apéry numbers and Franel numbers. In this paper we establish some fundamental congruences involving \(g_n(x)\). For example, for any prime \(p>5\) we have
$$\begin{aligned} \sum _{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{g_k(-1)}{k}\equiv 0\pmod {p^2}\quad \text {and}\quad \sum _{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{g_k(-1)}{k^2}\equiv 0\pmod p. \end{aligned}$$
This is similar to Wolstenholme’s classical congruences
$$\begin{aligned} \sum _{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{1}{k}\equiv 0\pmod {p^2}\quad \text {and}\quad \sum _{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{1}{k^2}\equiv 0\pmod p \end{aligned}$$
for any prime \(p>3\).

The Shannon capacity of a graph G is defined as \(c(G)=\sup _{d\ge 1}(\alpha (G^d))^{\frac{1}{d}},\) where \(\alpha (G)\) is the independence number of G. The Shannon capacity of the cycle \(C_5\) on 5 vertices was determined by Lovász in 1979, but the Shannon capacity of a cycle \(C_p\) for general odd p remains one of the most notorious open problems in information theory. By prescribing stabilizers for the independent sets in \(C_p^d\) and using stochastic search methods, we show that \(\alpha (C_7^5)\ge 350\), \(\alpha (C_{11}^4)\ge 748\), \(\alpha (C_{13}^4)\ge 1534\), and \(\alpha (C_{15}^3)\ge 381\). This leads to improved lower bounds on the Shannon capacity of \(C_7\) and \(C_{15}\): \(c(C_7)\ge 350^{\frac{1}{5}}> 3.2271\) and \(c(C_{15})\ge 381^{\frac{1}{3}}> 7.2495\).  相似文献

Let \(\mathbb {F}_{p^m}\) be a finite field of cardinality \(p^m\), where p is a prime, and kN be any positive integers. We denote \(R_k=F_{p^m}[u]/\langle u^k\rangle =F_{p^m}+uF_{p^m}+\cdots +u^{k-1}F_{p^m}\) (\(u^k=0\)) and \(\lambda =a_0+a_1u+\cdots +a_{k-1}u^{k-1}\) where \(a_0, a_1,\ldots , a_{k-1}\in F_{p^m}\) satisfying \(a_0\ne 0\) and \(a_1=1\). Let r be a positive integer satisfying \(p^{r-1}+1\le k\le p^r\). First we define a Gray map from \(R_k\) to \(F_{p^m}^{p^r}\), then prove that the Gray image of any linear \(\lambda \)-constacyclic code over \(R_k\) of length N is a distance preserving linear \(a_0^{p^r}\)-constacyclic code over \(F_{p^m}\) of length \(p^rN\). Furthermore, the generator polynomials for each linear \(\lambda \)-constacyclic code over \(R_k\) of length N and its Gray image are given respectively. Finally, some optimal constacyclic codes over \(F_{3}\) and \(F_{5}\) are constructed.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the algebraic independence and algebraic relations, first, for reciprocal sums of even terms in Fibonacci numbers \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{2n}^{ - 2s}} \), and second, for sums of evenly even and unevenly even types \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{4n}^{ - 2s}}, \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{4n - 2}^{ - 2s}} \). The numbers \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{4n - 2}^{ - 2s}}, \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{4n - 2}^{ - 4}} \), and are shown to be algebraically independent, and each sum \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {F_{4n - 2}^{ - 2s}} \left( {s \geqslant 4} \right) \) is written as an explicit rational function of these three numbers over \( \mathbb{Q} \). Similar results are obtained for various series of even type, including the reciprocal sums of Lucas numbers \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {L_{2n}^{ - p}}, \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {L_{4n}^{ - p}} \), and \( \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {L_{4n - 2}^{ - p}} \).  相似文献

We extended the known result that symbols from modulation spaces \(M^{\infty ,1}(\mathbb {R}^{2n})\), also known as the Sjöstrand’s class, produce bounded operators in \(L^2(\mathbb {R}^n)\), to general \(L^p\) boundedness at the cost of loss of derivatives. Indeed, we showed that pseudo-differential operators acting from \(L^p\)-Sobolev spaces \(L^p_s(\mathbb {R}^n)\) to \(L^p(\mathbb {R}^n)\) spaces with symbols from the modulation space \(M^{\infty ,1}(\mathbb {R}^{2n})\) are bounded, whenever \(s\ge n|1/p-1/2|.\) This estimate is sharp for all \(1< p<\infty \).  相似文献

Let \(\mu \) and \(\nu \) be measures supported on \(\left( -1,1\right) \) with corresponding orthonormal polynomials \(\left\{ p_{n}^{\mu }\right\} \) and \( \left\{ p_{n}^{\nu }\right\} \), respectively. Define the mixed kernel
$$\begin{aligned} K_{n}^{{\mu },\nu }\left( x,y\right) =\sum _{j=0}^{n-1}p_{j}^{\mu }\left( x\right) p_{j}^{\nu }\left( y\right) . \end{aligned}$$
We establish scaling limits such as
$$\begin{aligned}&\lim _{n\rightarrow \infty }\frac{\pi \sqrt{1-\xi ^{2}}\sqrt{\mu ^{\prime }\left( \xi \right) \nu ^{\prime }\left( \xi \right) }}{n}K_{n}^{\mu ,\nu }\left( \xi +\frac{a\pi \sqrt{1-\xi ^{2}}}{n},\xi +\frac{b\pi \sqrt{1-\xi ^{2}}}{n}\right) \\&\quad =S\left( \frac{\pi \left( a-b\right) }{2}\right) \cos \left( \frac{\pi \left( a-b\right) }{2}+B\left( \xi \right) \right) , \end{aligned}$$
where \(S\left( t\right) =\frac{\sin t}{t}\) is the sinc kernel, and \(B\left( \xi \right) \) depends on \({\mu },\nu \) and \(\xi \). This reduces to the classical universality limit in the bulk when \(\mu =\nu \). We deduce applications to the zero distribution of \(K_{n}^{{\mu },\nu }\), and asymptotics for its derivatives.

We give Fourier spectrum characterizations of functions in the Hardy \(H^p\) spaces on tubes for \(1\le p \le \infty .\) For \(F\in L^p(\mathbb {R}^n), \) we show that F is the non-tangential boundary limit of a function in a Hardy space, \(H^{p}(T_\Gamma ),\) where \(\Gamma \) is an open cone of \(\mathbb {R}^n\) and \(T_\Gamma \) is the related tube in \(\mathbb {C}^n,\) if and only if the classical or the distributional Fourier transform of F is supported in \(\Gamma ^*,\) where \(\Gamma ^*\) is the dual cone of \(\Gamma .\) This generalizes the results of Stein and Weiss for \(p=2\) in the same context, as well as those of Qian et al. in one complex variable for \(1\le p\le \infty .\) Furthermore, we extend the Poisson and Cauchy integral representation formulas to the \(H^p\) spaces on tubes for \(p\in [1, \infty ]\) and \(p\in [1,\infty ),\) with, respectively, the two types of representations.  相似文献
