On June 18, 2008 at the Plenary Meeting of the International Conference “Differential Equations and Topology” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Pontryagin, the report [1] was submitted by Isaev and Leitmann. This report in a summary form included a section dedicated to the research of scientists of TsAGI in the field of automation of full life-cycle (i.e. engineering-design-manufacturing, or CAE/CAD/CAM, or CALS-technologies) of wind tunnel models [2]. Within this framework, methods of geometric modeling [3] and [4] were intensively developed, new classes of optimal splines have been built, including the Pontryagin splines and the Chebyshev splines [5], [6], [7] and [8]. This paper reviews some results on the Pontryagin splines. We also give some results on the Lurie splines, that arise in the problem of interpolation of a cylindrical type surface given by the family of table coplanar planes.  相似文献

In this paper, we use quartic B-spline to construct an approximating function to agree with the given integral values of a univariate real-valued function over the same intervals. It is called integro quartic spline interpolation. Our interpolation method is new and easy to implement. Moreover, it can work successfully even without any boundary conditions. The interpolation errors are studied. The super convergence (sixth order and fourth order, respectively) in approximating function values and second-order derivative values at the knots is proved. Numerical examples illustrate that our method is very effective and our integro-interpolating quartic spline has higher approximation ability than others.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a class of problems which are generalized versions of the three-dimensional superradiance integral equation. A commuting differential operator will be found for this generalized problem. For the three-dimensional superradiance problem an alternative set of complete eigenfunctions will also be provided. The kernel for the superradiance problem when restricted to one-dimension is the same as appeared in the works of Slepian, Landau and Pollak (cf. Slepian and Pollak (1961) [1], Landau and Pollak (1961, 1962) [2] and [3], Slepian (1964, 1978) [4] and [5]). The uniqueness of the differential operator commuting with that kernel is indicated.  相似文献

This work presents a computational comparison study of quadratic, cubic, quartic and quintic splines for solving the modified regularized long wave (MRLW) equation. Collocation schemes with quadratic and cubic splines are found to be unconditionally stable. The fourth-order Runge–Kutta method has been used to solve the collocation schemes when quartic and quintic B-splines are used. The three invariants of motion have been evaluated to determine the conservation properties of the suggested algorithms. Comparisons of results due to different schemes with the exact values shows the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed schemes. Results corresponding to higher order splines are more accurate than those corresponding to lower order splines.  相似文献

Natural cubic interpolatory splines are known to have a minimal L 2-norm of its second derivative on the C 2 (or W 2 2 ) class of interpolants. We consider cubic splines which minimize some other norms (or functionals) on the class of interpolatory cubic splines only. The cases of classical cubic splines with defect one (interpolation of function values) and of Hermite C 1 splines (interpolation of function values and first derivatives) with spline knots different from the points of interpolation are discussed.  相似文献

A degree elevation formula for multivariate simplex splines was given by Micchelli and extended to hold ]or multivariate Dirichlet splines in [8]. We report similar formulae for multivariate cone splines and box splsplines andines. Mittal, Rhoades [5], [6], [7] and [8] and Mittal et al. [9] and [10] have initiated a study of error estimates En(f) through trigonometric-Fourier approximation (tfa) for the situations in which the summability matrix T does not have monotone rows. In this paper we continue the work. Here we extend two theorems of Leindler [4], where he has weakened the conditions on {pn} given by Chandra [2], to more general classes of triangular matrix methods. Our Theorem also partially generalizes Theorem 4 of Mittal et al. [11] by dropping the monotonicity on the elements of matrix rows, which in turn generalize the results of Quade [15].  相似文献

The existence of positive monotonic solutions, in the class of continuous functions, for some nonlinear quadratic integral equation have been studied in [4], [5], [6], [7] and [8]. In this note, we construct the additive Schwarz‐type preconditioner for fourth‐order elliptic problems with nested subspaces from Hermite cubic splines. We present a semilocal convergence theorem for Newton’s method (NM) on spaces with a convergence structure. Using our new idea of recurrent functions, we provide a tighter analysis, with weaker hypotheses than before and with the same computational cost as for Argyros (1996, 1997, 1997, 2007) [1], [2], [3] and [5], Meyer (1984, 1987, 1992) [13], [14] and [15]. Numerical examples are provided for solving equations in cases not covered before.  相似文献

This paper presents a numerical method based on quintic trigonometric B‐splines for solving modified Burgers' equation (MBE). Here, the MBE is first discretized in time by Crank–Nicolson scheme and the resulting scheme is solved by quintic trigonometric B‐splines. The proposed method tackles nonlinearity by using a linearization process known as quasilinearization. A rigorous analysis of the stability and convergence of the proposed method are carried out, which proves that the method is unconditionally stable and has order of convergence O(h4 + k2). Numerical results presented are very much in accordance with the exact solution, which is established by the negligible values of L2 and L errors. Computational efficiency of the scheme is proved by small values of CPU time. The method furnishes results better than those obtained by using most of the existing methods for solving MBE.  相似文献

We provide a new semilocal convergence analysis for generating an inexact Newton method converging to a solution of a nonlinear equation in a Banach space setting. Our analysis is based on our idea of recurrent functions. Our results are compared favorably to earlier ones by others and us (Argyros (2007, 2009) [5] and [6], Argyros and Hilout (2009) [7], Guo (2007) [15], Shen and Li (2008) [18], Li and Shen (2008) [19], Shen and Li (2009) [20]). Numerical examples are provided to show that our results apply, but not earlier ones [15], [18], [19] and [20].  相似文献

In this paper, by using the concept of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments of generalized type [1], [2], [3] and [4], a model of cellular neural networks (CNNs) [5] and [6] is developed. The Lyapunov-Razumikhin technique is applied to find sufficient conditions for the uniform asymptotic stability of equilibria. Global exponential stability is investigated by means of Lyapunov functions. An example with numerical simulations is worked out to illustrate the results.  相似文献

It is well known that the Camassa-Holm equation possesses numerous remarkable properties characteristic for KdV type equations. In this paper we show that it shares one more property with the KdV equation. Namely, it is shown in [1] and [2] that the KdV and the modified KdV equations are self-adjoint. Starting from the generalization [3] of the Camassa-Holm equation [4], we prove that the Camassa-Holm equation is self-adjoint. This property is important, e.g. for constructing conservation laws associated with symmetries of the equation in question. Accordingly, we construct conservation laws for the generalized Camassa-Holm equation using its symmetries.  相似文献
