An attempt has been made in the present work to investigate the role of anion for the uptake of Am(III)/Eu(III)/U(VI) by extraction chromatography (EXC) resin incorporating tetra-n-octyl-3-oxapentanediamide, commonly referred to as tetra-octyl diglycolamide (TODGA). In contrast to the nitric acid, perchloric acid medium favors extraction of trivalent metal ions even at low acidity (pH 2) and is almost insensitive to the acidity up to 5 M. Exceptionally large distribution coefficients (105–106) in the wide range of perchlorate concentration (10?2–5 M) is quite unusual and is by far the largest reported in the literature for Am(III)/Eu(III). Thermodynamic data suggests the possibility of inner sphere/cation exchange mechanism involving TODGA aggregates at higher acidity but outer sphere/cation exchange mechanism at low acidity for Eu(III). There is a possibility of employing TODGA based EXC resin for the remediation of liquid waste (contaminated with long lived transuranics like 241/243Am and 245Cm) in the wide range of acidity.  相似文献

The separation of the trivalent metal ions Am(III) and Eu(III) by extraction chromatography employing TBP impregnated macroporous XAD-4 resin as the stationary phase was examined; some parameters affecting the distribution ratio (Kd) and the column resolution (Rs) of Am(III) and Eu(III) were investigated. These parameters are the effect of TBP loading, aqueous nitrate concentrations, and flow rate. Both Kd andRs increase with the TBP loading.  相似文献

Extraction behaviour of actinides, lanthanides, fission products and structural elements has been studied with the two diglycolamide extractants, namely N,N,N′,N′-tetra-2-ethylhexyl diglycolamide (T2EHDGA) and N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA). The acid extraction studies suggested that T2EHDGA (KH: 1.8) is less basic as compared to its linear homologue, TODGA (KH: 4.1). The distribution ratio of Am(III) by 0.1 M diglycolamides followed the order: TODGA > T2EHDGA. The number of ligand molecules present in the stoichiometry of the extracted species of Am(III) was found to be three and four for T2EHDGA and TODGA, respectively. Thermodynamics studies suggested that the extraction of Am(III) by both the extractants is exothermic in nature. The radiolytic stability of TODGA and T2EHDGA solutions in n-dodecane has been investigated. Due to lower distribution ratio of Am by T2EHDGA, 0.2 M of its solution has been used as compared to 0.1 M solution of TODGA. The distribution behaviour of various metal ions, viz. Am, Nd, Fe, Mo, Cr, Sr and Cs has been studied from nitric acid as well as from simulated high level waste solution.  相似文献

In the present paper, N,N,N’,N’-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) as the extractant and n-dodecane as the diluent, the extraction kinetics behavior of Am(III) in TODGA/n-dodecane–HNO3 system were studied, including stirring speed, the interfacial area, extractant concentration in n-dodecane, extracted ions concentration, acidity of aqueous phase and temperature. The results show that: the extraction process is controlled by diffusion mode under 130 rpm of stirring speed and by chemical reaction mode above 150 rpm. The extraction rate equation and the apparent extraction rate constant of Am(III) by TODGA/n-dodecane in 170 rpm and at 25 °C are followed as: $$ \begin{aligned} r_{0} = \left. {\frac{{{\text{d}}[{\text{M}}]_{{{\text{org}} .}} }}{{{\text{d}}{{t}}}}} \right|_{t = 0} & = k\,\frac{S}{V}\left[ {\text{Am}} \right]_{{{\text{aq}} . ,0}}^{0.94} \left[ {{\text{HNO}}_{3} } \right]_{{{\text{aq}} . ,0}}^{1.05} \left[ {\text{TODGA}} \right]_{{{\text{org}} . ,0}}^{1.19} \\ & \quad k = \left( {24.17 \pm 3.43} \right) \times 10^{ - 3} \,{\text{mol}}^{ - 2.18} \,L^{2.18} \,{ \hbox{min} }^{ - 1} \,{\text{cm}},\;E_{\text{a}} \left( {{\text{Am}}\left( {\text{III}} \right)} \right) = 25.94 \pm 0.98\;{\text{kJ/mol}} .\\ \end{aligned} $$   相似文献

N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) and bis(2-ethylhexy)phosphoric acid (HDEHP) were coated on Fe3O4 nanoparticles under different chemical conditions. The TODGA-coated magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4@TODGA) captured representative actinides Am(III) and Pu(IV) at 3–4 M HNO3 with high efficiency. However, the HNO3 induced pre-organization of TODGA, before coating on the magnetite nanoparticles, was found to be important for the sorption of Am(III) and Pu(IV) ions. The Fe3O4@HDEHP particles exhibited selectivity toward Pu(IV), and Am(III) did not sorb from 3 to 4 M HNO3. The quantification of Pu(IV) preconcentrated on coated particles was carried out by removing the extractant coating in dioxane based scintillator, followed by liquid scintillation counting.

The work considers for the first time the preparation of sorbents based on hypercrosslinked polysterene (HCP) and chelating agent N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) by impregnation in the supercritical (SC) CO2 medium. Such sorbents can be applied for further isolation and separation of lanthanides, actinides and other metals. They are usually prepared by impregnation in toxic organic solvents (e.g., methanol, dichloromethane). Our study shows that application of SC CO2 instead of organic solvents can significantly speed up the impregnation, perfom it in one stage and make the process more eco-friendly. At the same time, the obtained sorbents are close in their parameters to the classical ones. This article presents the results of measuring the TODGA adsorption isotherms on two HCP sorbents (MN202 and MN270) on a wide range of SC fluid parameters. Adsorption measurements were carried out using on-line supercritical fluid chromatography and gravimetry. Based on the sorption capacity parameter, MN202 sorbent was selected as the better carrier for TODGA. An impregnation temperature increase within the range 313–343 K in isochoric conditions (ρ = 0.780 g/mL) reduces the maximum of TODGA adsorption from ~0.68 mmol/g to ~0.49 mmol/g.  相似文献

The unsymmetrical diglycolamides (DGAs) such as N,N-dihexyl-N′,N′-dioctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (DHDODGA), N,N-didecyl-N′,N′-dioctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (D2DODGA), N,N-didodecyl-N′,N′-dioctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (D3DODGA), were synthesized, and characterized by IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopic techniques. The extraction behaviour of Am(III), Eu(III), and Sr(II) by the solutions of these unsymmetrical DGAs in n-dodecane was studied as a function of concentration of nitric acid and DGA. The distribution ratio of Am(III) and Eu(III) increased with increase in the concentration of nitric acid; whereas, the distribution ratio of Sr(II) reached a maximum at 4 M nitric acid followed by decrease at higher acidities. The extraction of Am(III) and Eu(III) in 0.1 M DGA/n-dodecane decreased in the order DHDODGA > D2DODGA > D3DODGA. However, the order changed upon lowering the concentration of DGA. The third-phase formation behaviour of nitric acid and neodymium(III) in 0.1 M DGA/n-dodecane was studied as a function of concentration of nitric acid. The limiting organic concentration of nitric acid and neodymium increased with increase in the chain length of alkyl group attached to amidic nitrogen. Near stoichiometric amount of neodymium(III) was loaded in 0.1 M D3DODGA/n-dodecane without the formation of third-phase from 3 to 4 M nitric acid medium. The study revealed that the unsymmetrical diglycolamides D2DODGA and D3DODGA are superior candidates for partitioning the minor actinides from high-level liquid waste.  相似文献

The use of chemically modified XAD-4-salen chelating resin had been studied for the separative concentration of metal ions from an aqueous solution. XAD-4-salen was synthesized by diazonium coupling reaction of salen[N,N′-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine] and Amberlite XAD-4 resin. The distribution coefficient at various pH values and adsorption capacities were obtained with respect to Cu(II), Pb(II) and Bi(III). Trace elements were pre-concentrated on the synthesized XAD-4-salen by batch method for atomic absorption spectrometric determination. Some conditions, such as the pH of aqueous solution, amount of XAD-4-salen, kinds and concentration of acids were optimized for the analytical application of XAD-4-salen. For the pre-concentration of metal ions, the pH of the aqueous solution was adjusted to approximately 5.5, and then it was stirred 30 min after the addition of 50 mg of pulverized XAD-4-salen. The adsorbed metal ions were desorbed by 10 mL of 1.0 M HNO3. The desorption efficiency of Bi(III) was enhanced by the addition of 30 mg/L of Pd(II). The addition of Pd(II) as a matrix modifier could improve the reproducibility and sensitivity in the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) determination of volatile lead and bismuth. In the present study, this procedure has been applied for the determination of Cu(II), Pb(II) and Bi(III) in real samples of five kinds of river water, using a standard calibration curve method. Recoveries of 85–120% were obtained in the spiked samples in which given amount of analytes were added.  相似文献

A simple method was developed to separate Pu and Am using single column extraction chromatography employing N,N,N′,N′-tetra-n-octyldiglycolamide (DGA) resin. Isotope dilution measurements of Am and Pu were performed using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) and alpha spectrometry. For maximum adsorption Pu was stabilized in the tetra valent oxidation state in 8 M HNO3 with 0.05 M NaNO2 before loading the sample onto the resin. Am(III) was adsorbed also onto the resin from concentrated HNO3, and desorbed with 0.1 M HCl while keeping the Pu adsorbed. The on-column reduction of Pu(IV) to Pu(III) with 0.02 M TiCl3 facilitated the complete desorption of Pu. Interferences (e.g. Ca2+, Fe3+) were washed off from the resin bed with excess HNO3. Using NdF3, micro-precipitates of the separated isotopes were prepared for analysis by both AMS and alpha spectrometry. The recovery was 97.7 ± 5.3% and 95.5 ± 4.6% for 241Am and 242Pu respectively in reagents without a matrix. The recoveries of the same isotopes were 99.1 ± 6.0 and 96.8 ± 5.3% respectively in garden soil. The robustness of the method was validated using certified reference materials (IAEA 384 and IAEA 385). The measurements agree with the certified values over a range of about 1–100 Bq kg−1. The single column separation of Pu and Am saves reagents, separation time, and cost.  相似文献

The separation of americium(III) from europium(III) was achieved utilizing a bis-2,6-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,9,9-trimethyl-5,8-methano-1,2,4-benzotriazin-3-yl) pyridine (CA-BTP) chromatographic resin. The extraction chromatographic materials were prepared using various concentrations of CA-BTP. This new, hydrolytically stable extractant was impregnated on an inert polymeric support at 40% loading. The uptake of Am(III) and Eu(III) by this material from 0.1 to 4.0 M aqueous HNO3 solutions was measured. The resulting dry weight distribution ratios, D w , indicated a strong preference for Am(III) with little affinity for Eu(III). These results are similar to recently reported solvent extraction studies indicating a maximum uptake of Am(III) in the 0.5–1.0 M HNO3 range. The resin preparation, performance, and characterization of the Am/Eu separation are reported herein.

Sulfonylcalix[4]arenetetrasulfonate (SO2CAS) has been examined as a pre-column chelating reagent for ultratrace determination of metal ions by ion-pair reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with spectrophotometric detection. Metal ions were converted into the SO2CAS chelates in an acetic buffer solution (pH 4.7). The chelates were injected onto a n-octadecylsilanized silica-type Chromolith™ Performance RP-18e column and were eluted using a methanol (50 wt.%)-water eluent (pH 5.6) containing tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (7.0 mmol kg−1), acetate buffer (5.0 mmol kg−1), and disodium ethylendiamine-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetate (0.10 mmol kg−1). Under the conditions used, Al(III), Fe(III), and Ti(IV) were selectively detected among 21 kinds of metal ions [Al(III), Ba(II), Be(II), Ca(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Ga(III), Hf(IV), In(III), Mg(II), Mn(II), Mo(VI), Ni(II), Pb(II), Ti(IV), V(V), Zn(II), and Zr(IV)]. The detection limits on a 3σ blank basis were 8.8 nmol dm−3 (0.24 ng cm−3) for Al(III), 7.6 nmol dm−3 (0.42 ng cm−3) for Fe(III), and 17 nmol dm−3 (0.80 ng cm−3) for Ti(IV). The practical applicability of the proposed method was checked using river and tap water samples.  相似文献

A process for actinide(III) and lanthanum(III) extraction separation from high-level liquid waste (HLLW) was proposed, with N,N,N',N'-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) as the extractant, tri-n?butyl phosphate (TBP) as the phase modifier and 2,6-bis[1-(propan-1-ol)-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl]pyridine (PyTri-Diol or PTD) as hydrophilic stripping agent. This ‘hot test’ was successfully carried out, achieving 99.92% removal of americium-241 (241Am) with a separation factor SF(Eu/Am) of 3.8 × 103 in the actinide(III) product solution. The results show that bisamide podand extractants can effectively realize the extraction and separation of actinide(III) and lanthanum(III) from Chinese commercial HLLW and thus have a bright practical application potential for the treatment of commercial HLLW.  相似文献

TODGA–PAN composite sorbent and (PhSO3H)2–BTPhen in nitric acid solution were employed as a system for separation of curium from americium. The influence of aqueous phase composition (complexing agent and nitric acid concentrations) on weight distribution coefficients and Cm/Am separation factor was studied in batch experiments with trace amounts of 241Am and 244Cm. Based on the results obtained, column experiment was designed and conducted. The Cm/Am separation factor of 3.8 ± 0.1 found in batch experiments with TODGA–PAN could be reproduced also in column experiment resulting in good separation of Cm from Am. The efficiency of Cm separation from Am in the TODGA–PAN system was compared with the analogous system with DGA resin (Triskem International). After separation on a 0.5 mL column (φ4.7 × 29 mm) the Cm fraction containing 93% of Cm(III) contained only 3% of Am(III) in optimum conditions.

A macroporous silica-based N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (TODGA) polymeric composite (TODGA/SiO2-P) was synthesized. It was done through impregnation and immobilization of TODGA molecule into the pores of the SiO2-P particles utilizing a vacuum sucking technique. The macroporous SiO2-P particles were the silica-based organic/inorganic composite synthesized by immobilizing styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer inside SiO2 through the complicated polymerization reaction. The adsorption of rare earth (RE(III)) elements onto TODGA/SiO2-P was investigated in HNO3 solution containing diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), an acidic multi-dentate chelating agent. It was found that in the presence of 0.05 M DTPA, and H+ had significant effect on the TODGA/SiO2-P adsorption due to the competition reactions of RE(III) with different species, H4DTPA and H2DTPA3−. With an increase in the concentration of from 0.115 M to 3.015 M, the adsorption of RE(III) onto TODGA/SiO2-P increased noticeably. On the other hand, RE(III) showed strong adsorption at 0.1 M H+, weak adsorption at around pH 2, and no adsorption in excess of pH 2.3. In a 0.1 M H+-0.115 M -0.05 M DTPA solution, a change of the distribution coefficient of RE(III) onto TODGA/SiO2-P with an increase in atomic number of RE(III) from La(III) to Lu(III) was investigated. The silica-based TODGA/SiO2-P polymeric composite showed strong adsorption for heavy RE(III) over the light one. In a 0.01 M H+-1.0 M -0.05 M DTPA solution, the effect of the ratio of solid phase to liquid one on the relationship of the distribution coefficient of RE(III) with the change in atomic number of RE(III) was also studied. Based on the complicated disassociation equilibrium of DTPA, the influence of the concentrations of and H+ on the adsorption of TODGA/SiO2-P for RE(III) was demonstrated. This makes the partitioning of RE(III) and MA(III) together from high level liquid waste (HLLW) by the polymeric composite TODGA/SiO2-P promising.  相似文献

A highly sensitive flow-injection method is proposed for the catalytic determination of vanadium(V) at sub-nanogram per milliliter levels using a new indicator reaction. The method is based on the catalytic effect of vanadium(V) on the bromate oxidation of N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyl-3-sulfopropyl)-tolidine. 1,2-Dihydroxybenzene-3,5-disulfonate was used as an activator in the vanadium(V)-catalyzed reaction and significantly enhanced the sensitivity of the method. Vanadium(V) in the range 0.01-3.0 ng ml−1 was easily determined with sampling rate of about 30 h−1. Vanadium(IV) could be also determined. The limit of detection (S/N=3) was 0.008 ng ml−1 and the relative standard deviations were 1.4 and 1.6% for ten determinations of 0.2 ng ml−1 vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V), respectively. Interferences from metal ions could be suppressed by the addition of ethylenediamine-N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(methylenephosphonic acid) as a masking agent. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of vanadium in water samples.  相似文献

A series of 1,1′-disubstituted ferrocenoyl peptides incorporating dipeptide sidearms has been synthesized and studied electrochemically. The target peptides include ferrocene as an electrochemical reporter, sulfur-containing amino acids (l-methionine, S-methyl-l-cysteine, S-trityl-l-cysteine, S-benzhydryl-l-cysteine) as metal binding agents, and amino acids with non-polar side chains (l-alanine, l-valine, l-phenylalanine) as spacers between reporter and metal binding groups. Ferrocene/dipeptide conjugates were prepared using solution phase peptide synthesis methods employing a BOC-protecting group strategy and HBTU- (O-(benzotriazol-1-yl)-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate) mediated peptide coupling. The electrochemical properties of these 1,1′-substituted ferrocenoyl peptides have been characterized using cyclic voltammetry. All exhibit fully reversible one electron oxidation steps; forward sweep half wave peaks (EF), reverse sweep half wave peaks (ER), peak separations (ΔEP) and half wave potentials (E1/2) are reported. Finally, towards the goal of utilizing ferrocenoyl peptides to detect heavy metals in solution, the response of these ferrocene/dipeptide conjugates to metal cations (zinc(II), mercury(II), cadmium(II), lead(II), silver(I)) has been examined. Monitoring changes in the potential of the Fe(II)/Fe(III) redox couple to follow peptide/metal interactions, we have probed the influence of the spacer unit between the redox reporter and the metal-binding amino acid, and shown that these systems respond to mercury(II) more strongly than to other heavy metal ions.  相似文献

A microorganism Agrobacterium tumefacients as an immobilized cell on a solid support was presented as a new biosorbent for the enrichment of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric analysis. Amberlite XAD-4 was used as a support material for column preconcentration. Various parameters such as pH, amount of adsorbent, eluent type and volume, flow rate of sample solution, volume of sample solution and matrix interference effect on the retention of the metal ions have been studied. The optimum pH for the sorption of above mentioned metal ions were about 6, 8, 8 and 6, respectively. The loading capacity of adsorbent for Co(II) and Mn(II) were found to be 29 and 22 μmol g−1, respectively. The recoveries of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III), under the optimum conditions were found to be 99 ± 3, 99 ± 2, 98 ± 3 and 98 ± 3%, respectively, at the 95% confidence level. The limit of detection was 3.6, 3.0, 2.8 and 3.6 ng ml−1 for Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr (III), respectively, by applying a preconcentration factor of 25. The proposed enrichment method was applied for metal ion determination from water samples, alloy samples, infant foods and certified samples such as whey powder (IAEA-155) and aluminum alloy (NBS SRM 85b). The analytes were determined with a relative error lower than 10% in all samples.  相似文献

Superabsorbent copolymers of acrylamide (Am) and itaconic acid (ItA) were prepared by free radical solution polymerization using sodium persulfate and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylenediamine (TMEDA) as initiating system at 35 °C. Two series were prepared. The first series (SA series) used varied amount of itaconic acid and fixed amount of N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAm), while in the second series (SB series) the amount of (MBAM) changed and the amount of itaconic acid was fixed. The swelling behavior was studied at room temperature and the swelling percentage, swelling kinetics parameters such as initial swelling rate, swelling rate constant, and diffusion parameters were determined. The effect of pH and saline sensitivity on swelling behavior was also studied.  相似文献

Studies on the solvent extraction of Plutonium(Pu(IV)) from aqueous nitric acid by N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl-diglycolamide (TODGA) in 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium-bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide (C6mimTf2N) room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) were carried out. It was found that Pu(IV) is extracted into RTIL phase as [Pu(NO3)(TODGA)]3+ through cation exchange mechanism. Extraction reaction equation is obtained by the influence of acidity and extractant concentration, and the parameters of thermodynamic equilibrium constant was calculated.  相似文献

A poly[styrene-co-(divinylbenzene)] resin (XAD-4) functionalized with 1-hydrazinophthalazine ligand has been prepared and its analytical properties investigated. The pH dependence of sorption of metal ion on the resin has been determined for Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Fe(III) and Cr(III). Trace amounts of these metal ions were quantitatively retained on the resin and recovered by eluting with 1 mol l(-1) hydrochloric acid. The resin was found to be selective for Fe(III) and its separation from other metal ions was carried out effectively. Metal ions concentrations were determined using AAS.  相似文献
