Under the Golub-Van Loan condition for the existence and uniqueness of the scaled total least squares (STLS) solution, a first order perturbation estimate for the STLS solution and upper bounds for condition numbers of a STLS problem have been derived by Zhou et al. recently. In this paper, a different perturbation analysis approach for the STLS solution is presented. The analyticity of the solution to the perturbed STLS problem is explored and a new expression for the first order perturbation estimate is derived. Based on this perturbation estimate, for some STLS problems with linear structure we further study the structured condition numbers and derive estimates for them. Numerical experiments show that the structured condition numbers can be markedly less than their unstructured counterparts.  相似文献

It is still an open problem to prove a priori error estimates for finite volume schemes of higher order MUSCL type, including limiters, on unstructured meshes, which show some improvement compared to first order schemes. In this paper we use these higher order schemes for the discretization of convection dominated elliptic problems in a convex bounded domain Ω in R2 and we can prove such kind of an a priori error estimate. In the part of the estimate, which refers to the discretization of the convective term, we gain h1/2. Although the original problem is linear, the numerical problem becomes nonlinear, due to MUSCL type reconstruction/limiter technique.  相似文献

In this paper we shall derive a posteriori error estimates in the -norm for upwind finite volume schemes for the discretization of nonlinear conservation laws on unstructured grids in multi dimensions. This result is mainly based on some fundamental a priori error estimates published in a recent paper by C. Chainais-Hillairet. The theoretical results are confirmed by numerical experiments.

本文综述混合效应模型参数估计方面的若干新进展. 平衡混合效应方差分析模型的协方差阵具有一定结构. 对这类模型, 文献[1]提出了参数估计的一种新方法, 称为谱分解法. 新方法的突出特点是, 能同时给出固定效应和方差分量的估计, 前者是线性的, 后者是二次的,且相互独立. 而后, 文献[2--9]证明了谱分解估计的进一步的统计性质, 同时给出了协方差阵对应的估计, 它不仅是正定阵, 而且可获得它的风险函数, 这些文献还研究了谱分解估计与方差分析估计, 极大似然估计, 限制极大似然估计以及最小范数二次无偏估计的关系. 本文综述这一方向的部分研究成果, 并提出一些待进一步研究的问题.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the problem of constructing external estimates for the reachable set of a multidimensional control system by means of vector estimators. A system is considered that permits a decomposition into several independent subsystems with simple structure (for example, linear subsystems), which are connected to each other by means of nonlinear interconnections. For each of the subsystems, an external estimate of the reachable set is assumed to be known; this estimate is representable in the form of a level set of some function satisfying a differential inequality. An estimate for the reachable set of the combined system is constructed with the use of estimates for subsystems. The method of deriving the estimates is based on constructing comparison systems for analogs of vector Lyapunov functions (value functions).  相似文献

A method of obtaining a posteriori estimates for the difference between an exact solution and an approximate solution is suggested. The method is based on the duality theory of variational calculus. The general form of such an estimate is derived for a broad class of variational problems. The estimate converges to zero as the approximate solution converges to the exact one. Computable a posteriori error bounds and related adaptive mesh-refining algorithms are provided for the numerical treatment of monotone stationary flow problems with a quite general class of conforming and nonconforming finite element methods. A refined residual-based error estimate generalises the works of Verfürth; Dari, Duran and Padra; Bao and Barrett. As a consequence, reliable and efficient averaging estimates can be established on unstructured grids. The symmetric formulation of the incompressible flow problem models certain nonNewtonian flow problems and the Stokes problem with mixed boundary conditions. A Helmholtz decomposition avoids any regularity or saturation assumption in the mathematical error analysis. Numerical experiments for the partly nonconforming method analysed by Kouhia and Stenberg indicate efficiency of related adaptive mesh-refining algorithms.

In this paper, based on some mesh-dependent estimates on the extreme eigenvalues of a general finite element system defined on a simplicial mesh, novel and sharp bounds on the permissible time step size are derived for the mass lumping finite element approximations of parabolic equations. The bounds are dependent not only on the mesh size but also on the mesh shape. These results provide guidance to the stability of numerical solutions of parabolic problems in relation to the unstructured geometric meshing. The class of combination estimates based on the quadratic invariant statistics and consistent nonnegative estimates are obtained. The main goal of this paper is to present recovery type a posteriori error estimators and superconvergence for the nonconforming finite element eigenvalue approximation of self-adjoint elliptic equations by projection methods. Based on the superconvergence results of nonconforming finite element for the eigenfunction we derive superconvergence and recovery type a posteriori error estimates of the eigenvalue. The results are based on some regularity assumption for the elliptic problem and are applicable to the lowest order nonconforming finite element approximations of self-adjoint elliptic eigenvalue problems with quasi-regular partitions. Therefore, the results of this paper can be employed to provide useful a posteriori error estimators in practical computing under unstructured meshes.  相似文献

The problem of the estimating of a blow-up time for solutions of Volterra nonlinear integral equation with convolution kernel is studied. New estimates, lower and upper, are found and, moreover, the procedure for the improvement of the lower estimate is presented. Main results are illustrated by examples. The asymptotic normality of some spectral estimates, including a functional central limit theorem for an estimate of the spectral distribution function, is proved for fourth-order stationary processes. In contrast to known results it is not assumed that all moments exist or that the process is linear. The data are allowed to be tapered. Using some recent results on the central limit theorem for stationary processes, corollaries are obtained for strong and φ-mixing sequences and linear transformations of martingale differences.  相似文献
