The electrochemical, “steady-state” and “time-resolved” spectroscopic investigations were made on the well-known electron acceptor 9-cyanoanthracene (CNA) when interacted with the electron donors benzotriazole (BZT) and benzimidazole (BMI) molecules. Though electrochemical measurements indicate the thermodynamical possibility of occurrences of photoinduced electron transfer reactions within these reacting systems in the lowest excited singlet state (S1) of the acceptor CNA but the steady-state and time-resolved measurements clearly demonstrate only the triplet-initiated charge separation reactions. It was reported earlier that in the cases of disubstituted indole molecules the occurrences of photoinduced electron transfer reactions were apparent both in the excited singlet and triplet states of the acceptor 9-cyanoanthracene, but the similarly structured present donor molecules benzotriazole (and benzimidazole) behave differently from indoles. The weak ground state complex formations within the presently studied reacting systems appear to be responsible for the observed static quenching phenomena as evidenced from the time-resolved fluorescence studies. Time-resolved spectroscopic investigations demonstrate the formation of the ground state of the reacting components (donor and acceptor) through recombination of triplet ion-pairs via formations of contact neutral radical produced by H-abstraction mechanism.  相似文献

The fluorescence quenching of 9-Aminoacridine by certain estrogens and flavonoids in water was studied using absorption, steady state and time-resolved measurements. The bimolecular quenching rate constants for the chosen estrogens and flavonoids were found to be in the range of 3.2-9.2×1011 and 0.36-14.46×1011 M−1s−1, respectively. From lifetime measurement we observed that the quenching was mainly due to static mechanism through ground state complex formation. The binding constant (K) and the number of binding sites (n) were calculated based on the fluorescence quenching data. The free energy change (ΔGet) for electron transfer process was calculated by Rehm-Weller equation.  相似文献

The interaction of methyl blue (MB) with human serum albumin (HSA) was studied by fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy. The intrinsic fluorescence of HSA was quenched by MB, which was rationalized in terms of the static quenching mechanism. The number of binding sites and the apparent binding constants at different temperatures were obtained from the Stern-Volmer analysis of the fluorescence quenching data. The thermodynamic parameters determined by the van’t Hoff analysis of the binding constants (ΔH°=39.8 kJ mol−1 and ΔS°=239 J mol−1 K−1) clearly indicate that binding is absolutely entropy-driven and enthalpically disfavored The efficiency of energy transfer and the distance between the donor (HSA) and the acceptor (MB) were calculated as 60% and 2.06 nm from the Förster theory of non-radiation energy transfer.  相似文献

By using electrochemical, steady state and time resolved (fluorescence lifetime and transient absorption) spectroscopic techniques, detailed investigations were made to reveal the mechanisms of charge separation or forward electron transfer reactions within the electron donor phenothiazine (PTZH) or phenoxazine (PXZH) and well known electron acceptor 9-cyanoanthracene (CNA). The transient absorption spectra suggest that the charge separated species formed in the excited singlet state resulted from intermolecular photoinduced electron transfer reactions within the donor PTZH (or PXZH) and CNA acceptor relaxes to the corresponding triplet state. Though alternative mechanisms of via formations of contact neutral radical by H-transfer reaction have been proposed but the observed results obtained from the time resolved measurements indicate that the regeneration of ground state reactants is primarily responsible due to direct recombination of triplet contact ion-pair (CIP) or solvent-separated ion-pair (SSIP).  相似文献

In this paper, the binding of trazodone hydrochloride (TZH) to bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated by spectroscopic (fluorescence, spectrophotometry and circular dichroism) techniques under simulative physiological conditions. A strong fluorescence quenching reaction of TZH to BSA was observed and the quenching mechanism was suggested as dynamic quenching according to the Stern-Volmer equation. The binding constants of TZH with BSA at 288, 302 and 309 K were calculated as (1.56±0.003)×104, (2.31±0.002)×104 and (5.44±0.004)×104 M−1, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters, ΔH0 and ΔS0 were obtained to be 39.86±0.008 kJ mol−1 and 217.89±0.011 J mol−1 K−1, respectively, which indicated the presence of hydrophobic forces between TZH and BSA. The spectral results observed showed that the binding of TZH to BSA induced conformational changes in BSA. Based on the Förster's theory of non-radiation energy transfer, the binding average distance, r between donor (BSA) and acceptor (TZH) was found to be 2.4 nm. The effect of common ions on binding of TZH to BSA was also examined.  相似文献

The interaction between promethazine hydrochloride (PMT) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) in vitro was investigated by means of fluorescence spectroscopy and absorption spectroscopy. The fluorescence of BSA was quenched remarkably by PMT and the quenching mechanism was considered as static quenching by forming a complex. The association constants Ka and the number of binding sites n were calculated at different temperatures. The BSA-PMT binding distance was determined to be less than 8 nm, suggesting that energy transfer from BSA to PMT may occur. The thermodynamic parameters of the interaction between PMT and BSA were measured according to the van’t Hoff equation. The enthalpy change (ΔH) and entropy change (ΔS) were calculated to be −23.62 kJ mol−1 and −0.10 J mol−1 K−1, respectively, which indicated that the interaction of PMT with BSA was driven mainly by van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonds. The binding process was a spontaneous process in which Gibbs free energy change (ΔG) was negative. In addition, the results of synchronous fluorescence spectra and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra showed that binding of PMT with BSA can induce conformational changes in BSA.  相似文献

Surface termination and electronic properties of InN layers grown by high pressure chemical vapor deposition have been studied by high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (HREELS). HREEL spectra from InN after atomic hydrogen cleaning show N-H termination with no indium overlayer or droplets and indicate that the layer is N-polar. Broad conduction band plasmon excitations are observed centered at 3400 cm−1 in HREEL spectra with 7 eV incident electron energy which shift to 3100 cm−1 when the incident electron energies are 25 eV or greater. The shift of the plasmon excitations to lower energy when electrons with larger penetration depths are used is due to a higher charge density on the surface compared with the bulk, that is, a surface electron accumulation. These results indicate that surface electron accumulation on InN does not require excess indium or In-In bonds.  相似文献

Time-resolved absorption and luminescence spectra have been measured in KNbO3 perovskite crystals after pulsed band-gap excitation by 200 fs laser pulses and 10 ns electron pulses. Quantum chemical calculations using the large unit cell periodic model support the interpretation of the observed transient absorption bands at 0.8 and 1.1 eV as the self-trapped electron polarons and bound hole polarons, respectively. The activation energy for the 2.2 eV green luminescence quenching is 0.05 eV. We suggest that the short lifetime (<15 ns) of the luminescence at RT is caused by the radiative recombination of nearest electron and hole polarons.  相似文献

Tunneling electrons in a scanning tunneling microscope were used to excite specific vibrational quantum states of adsorbed water and hydroxyl molecules on a Ru(0 0 0 1) surface. The excited molecules relaxed by transfer of energy to lower energy modes, resulting in diffusion, dissociation, desorption, and surface-tip transfer processes. Diffusion of H2O molecules could be induced by excitation of the O-H stretch vibration mode at 445 meV. Isolated molecules required excitation of one single quantum while molecules bonded to a C atom required at least two quanta. Dissociation of single H2O molecules into H and OH required electron energies of 1 eV or higher while dissociation of OH required at least 2 eV electrons. In contrast, water molecules forming part of a cluster could be dissociated with electron energies of 0.5 eV.  相似文献

Results of a study of energy losses and electron transfer processes for grazing scattering of fluorine atoms and anions scattering along different azimuthal orientations of the TiO2 crystal are presented. We observe strong variations in the overall intensity of scattered particles which are due to channelling effects. The energy losses do not show strong variations as a function of crystal azimuth except for the case of scattering along the (0 0 1) direction between the bridging oxygen atom rows, where we also observe differences in the energy losses of scattered ions and neutrals. We attribute this to the fact that larger F survival occurs for trajectories staying farther from the surface, when also the energy losses remain small. The overall characteristics of energy losses are attributed mainly to trajectory effects due to scattering in regions of different electron density. Measurements of the ratio of scattered ions to the total scattered flux, i.e. the ion fractions which reflect electron capture and loss processes, show that these are not the same for incident anions and atoms. A strong difference for scattering along the (0 0 1) direction is observed, where at low incident energies a strong survival of incident ions occurs. These results are tentatively discussed in terms of non resonant electron capture at lattice O sites and electron loss into the conduction band or by collisional detachment with bridging O atoms.  相似文献

The interaction between lomefloxacin (LMF) and human lactoferrin (Hlf) was studied by using fluorescence, circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopic and molecular modeling measurements. By the fluorescence quenching results, it was found that the binding constant KA=8.69×105 L mol−1, and number of binding sites n=1.75 at physiological condition. Experimental results observed showed that the binding of LMF to Hlf induced conformational changes of Hlf. The participation of tyrosyl and tryptophanyl residues of protein was also estimated in the drug-Hlf complex by synchronous fluorescence. The quantitative analysis data of far-UV CD spectra from that of the α-helix 37.4% in free Hlf to 30.2% in the LMF-Hlf complex further confirmed that secondary structure of the protein was changed by LMF. Near-UV CD showed perturbations around tryptophan and tyrosine residues which involves perturbations of tertiary structure. The thermodynamic parameters like, ΔH° and ΔS°, have been calculated to be 63.411 kJ mol−1 and 231.104 J mol−1 K−1, respectively. Thermodynamic analysis showed that hydrophobic interactions were the main force in the binding site but the hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interaction could not be excluded which in agreement with the result of molecular docking study. The distance r between donor and acceptor was obtained according to fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and found to be 1.78 nm. The interaction between LMF and Hlf has been verified as consistent with the static quenching procedure and the quenching mechanism is related to the energy transfer. Furthermore, the study of molecular modeling that LMF could bind to the α-helixes between Pro145-Asn152 and Phe167-Gln172 regions and hydrophobic interaction was the major acting force for the binding site, which was in agreement with the thermodynamic analysis.  相似文献

Dandelion-like gallium nitride (GaN) microstructures were successfully synthesized via Ni catalyst assisted chemical vapor deposition method at 1200 °C under NH3 atmosphere by pre-treating precursors with aqueous ammonia. The as-synthesized product was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that as-synthesized dandelion-like GaN was pure and has hexagonal wurtzite structure. SEM results showed that the size of the dandelion-like GaN structure was in the range of 30-60 μm. Dandelion-like GaN microstructures exhibited reasonable field emission properties with the turn-on field of 9.65 V μm−1 (0.01 mA cm−2) and threshold field of 11.35 V μm−1 (1 mA cm−2) which is sufficient for applications of electron emission devices, field emission displays and vacuum micro electronic devices. Optical properties were studied at room temperature by using fluorescence spectrophotometer. Photoluminescence (PL) measurements of dandelion-like GaN showed a strong near-band-edge emission at 370.2 nm (3.35 eV) with blue band emission at 450.4 nm (2.75 eV) and 465.2 nm (2.66 eV) but with out yellow band emission. The room-temperature photoluminescence properties showed that it has also potential application in light-emitting devices. The tentative growth mechanism for the growth of dandelion-like GaN was also described.  相似文献

The interaction mechanism of Acid Orange 6 (AO6) with human serum albumin (HSA) was investigated firstly by using fluorescence quenching technique, UV absorbance, circular dichroism (CD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy in combination with molecular modeling method under simulative physiological conditions. Fluorescence data indicated that there is a single class of binding sites between AO6 and HSA, and the alterations of HSA secondary structure in the presence of AO6 was confirmed by synchronous fluorescence, UV, CD, FT-IR and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra. The efficiency of fluorescence resonance energy transfer provided the binding distance (r) of 2.83 nm for AO6-HSA system. Furthermore, the thermodynamic parameters enthalpy change (ΔH0) and entropy change (ΔS0) for the reaction were calculated to be −5.77 kJ mol−1 and 109.42 J mol−1 K−1, respectively, according to Van't Hoff equation, these data suggested that both hydrophobic forces and hydrogen bonding play a major role in the binding of AO6 to HSA, which agrees well with the results of molecular modeling study. Experimental results showed that the interaction between AO6 and HSA induced a conformational change of HSA, which was proved by the qualitative and quantitative analysis data of different spectroscopic techniques under simulative physiological conditions.  相似文献

We have used density functional theory to investigate hydrogen adsorption and diffusion on a W(1 1 0) surface. Hydrogen adsorption structures were examined from low coverage to one monolayer, and a threefold hollow site was found to be the most stable site at all coverages. In contrast to previous assertions, the work function decrease is not due to electron transfer from the hydrogen atoms to the W surface, but due to electron depletion at the vacuum region above the hydrogen atoms. Hydrogen atoms can diffuse via short-bridge sites and long-bridge sites at a coverage of θ = 1.0. Although the calculated activation energy for hydrogen diffusion via a short-bridge site is as small as 0.05 eV, field emission microscope experiments have shown that the activation energy for hydrogen diffusion is about 0.20 eV, which agrees fairly well with our calculated value of the activation energy via a long-bridge site. This discrepancy can be related to hydrogen delocalization on the W(1 1 0) surface, which has been suggested by electron energy loss spectroscopy experiments.  相似文献

The author reports on a strong fluorescence quenching of a model transport protein, bovine serum albumin BSA, when bioconjugated with CdS quantum dots QDs. The 4.4 nm size CdS QDs were synthesized using wet chemistry method and were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy SEM and X-ray diffraction XRD techniques. It was found that the BSA fluorescence quenching increases linearly with increasing the CdS QDs concentrations in the range of 3×10−7-2.0×10−6 mol L−1. This quenching is explained in terms of Stern-Volmer equation and is ascribed to static quenching with quenching constant 1.321×104 L mol−1 at 300 K.  相似文献

A new method for the determination of erythromycin by energy transfer fluorescence quenching of acridine orange (AO)—rhodamine 6G (R6G) in micelles solution studied and established. It was found that the effective energy transfer could occur between AO and R6G in the dodecyl benzene sodium sulfonate at and Britton-Robinson buffer (BR, pH=5.72). The fluorescence intensity of R6G had been increased sharply. Erythromycin diminished the fluorescence intensity of R6G. The detection limit was up to 0.316 mg l−1. The range of determining concentration of erythromycin was 0.75-15 mg l−1. The relative standards deviation were 0.66-1.38% for six parallel determinations of erythromycin. The recoveries of erythromycin were 96.95-101.41%. The measurement was applied to the determination of capsules of erythromycin with good results.  相似文献

The electrical and optical characteristics of platinum (Pt) diffusion in n-type gallium nitride (GaN) film are investigated. The diffusion extent was characterized by the SIMS technique. The temperature-dependent diffusion coefficients of Pt in n-GaN are 4.158 × 10−14, 1.572 × 10−13 and 3.216 × 10−13 cm2/s at a temperature of 650, 750 and 850 °C, respectively. The Pt diffusion constant and activation energy in GaN are 6.627 × 10−9 cm2/s and 0.914 eV, respectively. These results indicate that the major diffusion mechanism of Pt in GaN is possibly an interstitial diffusion. In addition, it is also observed that the Pt atom may be a donor because the carrier concentration in Pt-diffused GaN is higher than that in un-diffused GaN. The optical property is studied by temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) measurement. The thermal quenching of the PL spectra for Pt-diffused GaN samples is also examined.  相似文献

The interaction between 1-Zn (N-p-(dimethylamino)benzamido-N′-phenylthiourea-zinc) complex and serum albumins was studied. In the presence of proteins such as BSA or HSA, the fluorescence spectrum of 1 did not change. However, the fluorescence intensity of its zinc complex (1-Zn) was greatly enhanced. It was ascribed to the fact that zinc ion promoted the interaction between 1 and proteins. Therefore, it was concluded that zinc ion could facilitate bioactivity of thiourea derivative drugs. Energy transfer occurred between 1-Zn and the proteins, which led to decrease of proteins’ emission and increase of 1-Zn’s emission. The fluorescence quenching of serum albumins by 1-Zn was considered as a static quenching process. The binding constants between 1-Zn and serum albumins were estimated as 1.02×1012 mol−1 L for BSA and 1.32×1010 mol−1 L for HSA, respectively, and the number of binding sites was 2 for both. The effect of 1-Zn on the conformation of serum albumins was further investigated using synchronous fluorescence spectrometry and the results implied that tyrosine residues of proteins were closer to 1-Zn than tryptophan residues.  相似文献

The quenching of fluorescence intensity and decay time of protonated form of 6-methoxyquinoline (6MQ+) with chloride ion (Cl) in aqueous solution at ambient temperatures have been investigated. The quenching follows linear Stern-Volmer relation. The values of Stern-Volmer quenching constant/quenching efficiency (Ksv) and quenching rate constant (Kq) for the Cl ion are close to 75 M−1 and 3.21×109 M−1 S−1, respectively. The quenching is found to be collisional or dynamical in nature. The study reveals that the system can be used as a sensor for the detection of chloride ion.  相似文献

Uniform ZnO nanobelts (NBs) were synthesized by a facile thermal evaporation method. Recombination mechanism of acceptor-related emissions in Sb doped ZnO NBs was investigated by temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) spectra. UV near-band-edge (NBE) emissions were dominant by acceptor-bound exciton (A0X) at 3.358 eV and free electron-to-acceptor (FA) at 3.322 eV transitions at 81 K. Studies on A0X intensity showed a quenching channel, the thermal dissociations of A0X to a free exciton and electron hole pair with the temperature increase. The active energy of A0X was estimated to be 19 meV using thermal quenching formula. The acceptor ionization energy was calculated to be 190 meV using Haynes rule. These results were very similar to those of antimony or phosphorus doped ZnO films.  相似文献
