Let G be a connected graph. For at distance 2, we define , and , if then . G is quasi-claw-free if it satisfies , and G is P 3-dominated() if it satisfies , for every pair (x, y) of vertices at distance 2. Certainly contains as a subclass. In this paper, we prove that the circumference of a 2-connected P 3-dominated graph G on n vertices is at least min or , moreover if then G is hamiltonian or , where is a class of 2-connected nonhamiltonian graphs.  相似文献

Let X be a regular irreducible variety in , Y the associated homogeneous variety in , and N the restriction of the universal bundle of to X. In the present paper, we compute the obstructions to solving the -equation in the L p -sense on Y for 1 ≤  p ≤  ∞ in terms of cohomology groups . That allows to identify obstructions explicitly if X is specified more precisely, for example if it is equivalent to or an elliptic curve.   相似文献

We shall call quantum states of a principal bundle π : PM with structure group a semi-simple Lie group G, the elements of certain space of sections of the adjoint bundle , associated to the G-bundle of connections . An inner product of sections of is defined for which is a Hilbert space such that the Gauge group gau(P) of the given bundle represents in a family of self-adjoint operators. This work crystallizes some heuristic considerations, on the unitary representations of Gauge algebras, of Garcia in the already a classical article (J. Differ. Geom. 12, 209–227, 1977).  相似文献

If F is a polynomial endomorphism of , let denote the field of rational functions such that . We will say that F is quasi-locally finite if there exists a nonzero such that p(F) = 0. This terminology comes out from the fact that this definition is less restrictive than the one of locally finite endomorphisms made in Furter, Maubach (J Pure Appl Algebra 211(2):445–458, 2007). Indeed, F is called locally finite if there exists a nonzero such that p(F) = 0. In the present paper, we show that F is quasi-locally finite if and only if for each the sequence is a linear recurrent sequence. Therefore, this notion is in some sense natural. We also give a few basic results on such endomorphisms. For example: they satisfy the Jacobian conjecture.  相似文献

We consider the 2m-th order elliptic boundary value problem Lu = f (x, u) on a bounded smooth domain with Dirichlet boundary conditions on ∂Ω. The operator L is a uniformly elliptic operator of order 2m given by . For the nonlinearity we assume that , where are positive functions and q > 1 if N ≤ 2m, if N > 2m. We prove a priori bounds, i.e, we show that for every solution u, where C > 0 is a constant. The solutions are allowed to be sign-changing. The proof is done by a blow-up argument which relies on the following new Liouville-type theorem on a half-space: if u is a classical, bounded, non-negative solution of ( − Δ) m u  =  u q in with Dirichlet boundary conditions on and q > 1 if N ≤ 2m, if N > 2m then .   相似文献

In this paper, we study the minimality of the map for the weighted energy functional , where is a continuous function. We prove that for any integer and any non-negative, non-decreasing continuous function f, the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on . The case p = 1 has been already studied in [Bourgoin J.-C. Calc. Var. (to appear)]. Then, we extend results of Hong (see Ann. Inst. Poincaré Anal. Non-linéaire 17: 35–46 (2000)). Indeed, under the same assumptions for the function f, we prove that in dimension n ≥  7 for any real with , the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on .   相似文献

Let k be a finite field of characteristic p, l a prime number different from p, a nontrivial additive character, and a character on . Then ψ defines an Artin-Schreier sheaf on the affine line , and χ defines a Kummer sheaf on the n-dimensional torus . Let be a Laurent polynomial. It defines a k-morphism . In this paper, we calculate the weights of under some non-degeneracy conditions on f. Our results can be used to estimate sums of the form

Solutions of elliptic problems with nonlinearities of linear growth   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we study existence of nontrivial solutions to the elliptic equation
and to the elliptic system
where Ω is a bounded domain in with smooth boundary ∂Ω, , f (x, 0) = 0, with m ≥ 2 and . Nontrivial solutions are obtained in the case in which the nonlinearities have linear growth. That is, for some c > 0, for and , and for and , where I m is the m × m identity matrix. In sharp contrast to the existing results in the literature, we do not make any assumptions at infinity on the asymptotic behaviors of the nonlinearity f and . Z. Let X be a Banach space and a strongly continuous group of linear operators on X. Set and where is the unit circle and denotes the spectrum of T(t). The main result of this paper is: is uniformly continuous if and only if is non-meager. Similar characterizations in terms of the approximate point spectrum and essential spectra are also derived. A circular distribution is a Galois equivariant map ψ from the roots of unity μ to an algebraic closure of such that ψ satisfies product conditions, for ϵμ and , and congruence conditions for each prime number l and with (l, s) = 1, modulo primes over l for all , where μ l and μ s denote respectively the sets of lth and sth roots of unity. For such ψ, let be the group generated over by and let be , where U s denotes the global units of . Let be the generalized integers n j associated with a set of generalized primes p i in Beurling’s sense. On the basis of the general mean-value theorems, established in our previous work, for multiplicative function f(n j ) defined on , we prove extensions, in functional form and in mean-value form, of the Elliott–Daboussi theorem to high order mean-values. For the main result, let α,ρ, and τ be positive real constants such that α > 1,ρ≥1 and . Then a multiplicative function f satisfies the following conditions, with some constant , (1) All four series

We show a sufficient condition for a domain in to be a H -domain of holomorphy. Furthermore if a domain has the Gleason property at a point and the projection of the n − 1th order generalized Shilov boundary does not coincide with Ω then is schlicht. We also give two examples of pseudoconvex domains in which the spectrum is non-schlicht and satisfy several other interesting properties.   相似文献

Let V be a quadratic space with a form q over an arbitrary local field F of characteristic different from 2. Let with the form Q extending q with Q(e) = 1. Consider the standard embedding and the two-sided action of on . In this note we show that any -invariant distribution on is invariant with respect to transposition. This result was earlier proven in a bit different form in van Dijk (Math Z 193:581–593, 1986) for , in Aparicio and van Dijk (Complex generalized Gelfand pairs. Tambov University, 2006) for and in Bosman and van Dijk (Geometriae Dedicata 50:261–282, 1994) for p-adic fields. Here we give a different proof. Using results from Aizenbud et al. (arXiv:0709.1273 (math.RT), submitted), we show that this result on invariant distributions implies that the pair (O(V), O(W)) is a Gelfand pair. In the archimedean setting this means that for any irreducible admissible smooth Fréchet representation (π, E) of we have A stronger result for p-adic fields is obtained in Aizenbud et al. We consider one-dimensional difference Schr?dinger equations with real analytic function V(x). Suppose V(x) is a small perturbation of a trigonometric polynomial V 0(x) of degree k 0, and assume positive Lyapunov exponents and Diophantine ω. We prove that the integrated density of states is H?lder continuous for any k > 0. Moreover, we show that is absolutely continuous for a.e. ω. Our approach is via finite volume bounds. I.e., we study the eigenvalues of the problem on a finite interval [1, N] with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Then the averaged number of these Dirichlet eigenvalues which fall into an interval , does not exceed , k > 0. Moreover, for , this averaged number does not exceed exp , for any . For the integrated density of states of the problem this implies that for any . To investigate the distribution of the Dirichlet eigenvalues of on a finite interval [1, N] we study the distribution of the zeros of the characteristic determinants with complexified phase x, and frozen ω, E. We prove equidistribution of these zeros in some annulus and show also that no more than 2k 0 of them fall into any disk of radius exp. In addition, we obtain the lower bound (with δ > 0 arbitrary) for the separation of the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet eigenvalues over the interval [0, N]. This necessarily requires the removal of a small set of energies. Received: February 2006, Accepted: December 2007  相似文献

Let f be such a function that f and f′′ are nondecreasing and convex. Then it is proved that for all nonnegative numbers one has the inequality where . The lower bound on m is exact for each . Moreover, is Schur-concave in . A number of corollaries are obtained, including upper bounds on generalized moments and tail probabilities of (super)martingales with differences of bounded asymmetry, and also upper bounds on the maximal function of such (super)martingales.
