Two 14 pi cross-linked annulenes which belong to the family of dicyclopenta[a,e]pentalenes have been synthesized, 14 pi bis enol triflate ester 27 and the 3,7-diisopropylsilyl substituted 14 pi dicyclopenta[a,e]pentalene 30. The new allenic tandem Pauson-Khand reaction mediated by Mo(CO)(6) was employed as the key process to construct the core of the tetracycles. The two linear dicyclopenta[a,e]pentalenes 27 and 30 underwent significant electronic delocalization, perhaps even aromaticity, as revealed by the X-ray structure of 27. The tetracyclic rings in 27 assumed a flat geometry (Figure 4); the bond lengths of the tetracycle in 27 also fit well into the criteria for aromatic compounds. A comparison of the NMR and UV spectra of both 27 and 30 demonstrated that they both exhibited similar electronic properties, therefore, the purple colored 14 pi cross linked annulene 30 is planar as well as delocalized.  相似文献

The structures, energetics, and aromatic character of dicyclobuta[de,ij]naphthalene, 1, dicyclopenta[cd,gh]pentalene, 2, dihydrodicyclobuta[de,ij]naphthalene, 3, and dihydrocyclopenta[cd,gh]pentalene, 4, have been examined at the B3LYP/6-311++G//B3LYP/6-31G level of theory. All molecules are bowl-shaped, and the pentalene isomers, 2 and 4, are most stable. A comparison with other C(12)H(6) and C(12)H(8) isomers indicates that 2 is approximately 25 kcal/mol less stable than 1,5,9-tridehydro[12]annulene and 4 is approximately 100 kcal/mol higher in energy than acenaphthylene, both of which are synthetically accessible. The transition state structure for bowl-to-bowl inversion of 1 is planar (D(2)(h)()) and lies 30.9 kcal/mol higher in energy than the ground state; the transition state for inversion of 2 is C(2)(h)() and lies 46.6 kcal/mol higher in energy. Symmetry considerations, bond length alternations, and NICS values (a magnetic criterion) all indicate that the ground states of 1, 3, and 4 are very aromatic; however, HOMA values (a measure of bond delocalization) indicate that 3S and 4S are aromatic but that 1S is less so. NICS values for the ground state of 2 strongly indicate aromaticity; however, bond localization, symmetry, and HOMA values argue otherwise.  相似文献

Reduction of dibenzo[a,e]pentalene 3 (denoted as dibenzopentalene hereafter) with excess lithium gave dilithium dibenzopentalenide 1. Since oxidation of 1 with iodine gave 3, redox behavior between 1 and 3 is controllable and reversible. Reaction of 3 with methyllithium gave lithium 5-methyldibenzopentalenide 5, the formation of which was evidenced by some trapping experiments and X-ray crystallographic analysis. Reactions of 3 with halogens gave 5,10-dihalodibenzopentalenes, 8 and 9. Some optical properties of novel dibenzopentalene derivatives are also demonstrated.  相似文献

Dibenzo[a,e]pentalene (DBP) is a non-alternant conjugated hydrocarbon with antiaromatic character and ambipolar electrochemical behavior. Upon both reduction and oxidation, it becomes aromatic. We herein study the chemical oxidation and reduction of a planar DBP derivative and a bent DBP-phane. The molecular structures of its planar dication, cation radical and anion radical in the solid state demonstrate the gained aromaticity through bond length equalization, which is supported by nucleus independent chemical shift-calculations. EPR spectra on the cation radical confirm the spin delocalization over the DBP framework. A similar delocalization was not possible in the reduced bent DBP-phane, which stabilized itself by proton abstraction from a solvent molecule upon reduction. This is the first report on structures of a DBP cation radical and dication in the solid state and of a reduced bent DBP derivative. Our study provides valuable insight into the charged species of DBP for its application as semiconductor.  相似文献

Using triples-corrected coupled-cluster methods as well as other high-level theoretical approximations, the optimized parameters and isomerization barriers of the family of compounds cyclopentadiene-(benzene)x-cyclopentadiene (x = 0, 1, 2) are computed. In contrast to previous studies, s-indacene presents a localized C(2h) geometry. Also, the localized structure of pentalene is found to be the most stable, but when two benzene rings are intercalated between the five-member rings of pentalene, the resulting molecule preferably adopts a delocalized D(2h) conformation.  相似文献

Using the Pariser-Parr-Pople type MO method, the energy ordering of the lowest excited singlet-triplet pairs of the title molecules is examined by taking into account ample configuration interactions. In dicyclohepta[cd,gh]pentalene, it is shown that the lowest excited singlet state lies below the corresponding triplet state by about 6 kcal/mol. This violation of Hund's rule is ascribed entirely to the correlation effects brought about by spin polarization terms. Such a violation of Hund's rule is expected to occur in the lowest excited states of dicyclopenta[ef,kl]heptalene.  相似文献

A reliable procedure for constructing a bicyclo[5.3.0]deca-1,7-dien-9-one ring system by rhodium-catalyzed Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) of allenynes with a sulfonyl group has been developed. Investigation of the rhodium-catalyzed PKR on 19 examples of 1,2-nonadien-8-yne derivatives demonstrated that (i) acceptable yields could be consistently achieved through the proper choice of the rhodium catalyst ([RhCl(CO)(2)](2) or [RhCl(CO)dppp](2)) depending on the starting allenyne and that (ii) an ester functionality as well as hydroxy and siloxy groups could be tolerated in this rhodium-catalyzed PKR.  相似文献

A series of donor-acceptor copolymers with dicyclopenta[cd,jk]pyrene and dicyclopenta[cd,lm]perylene acceptor units was prepared via palladium catalyzed cyclopenta-annulation reactions. The acceptor units were paired with diethynyl containing donor groups based on benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene, thieno[3,2-b]thiophene, and 4-octyl-4H-dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-d]pyrrole to create six polymer variants. The cyclopentannulation polymerization resulted in copolymers with molecular weights (Mn) of 6–14 kDa and broad light absorption in the visible region with band gaps of 1.38–1.85 eV. The synthetic methodology, as well as optoelectronic properties, including thin-film absorption and cyclic voltammetry, of the donor-acceptor copolymers are presented.  相似文献

There are still some synthetic chemists who hesitate to use metal-mediated or -catalysed reactions. The Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) is a powerful transformation that has now been sufficiently well developed to be routinely considered when planning a synthesis, especially of polycyclic complex molecules. This tutorial review aims to encourage the use of this process explaining the best ways of performing a PKR both in the stoichiometric and the catalytic version, showing the scope of the process and its limitations. Additionally, asymmetry can be introduced in the reaction using several strategies, which will be discussed. The most recent examples of the synthetic applications of the PKR in natural product synthesis will give the reader an idea of the great usefulness of this reaction.  相似文献

Bicyclo[3.2.1]octan-8-ones have been prepared from a tandem Michael-Henry reaction between cyclohexane-1,2-diones and nitroalkenes using a quinine-derived thiourea as the catalyst. Although four stereogenic centers were created during the reaction, only two diastereomers were obtained in good diastereoselectivity and high enantioselectivity (92-99% ee). When 3-methylcyclohexane-1,2-dione (R1=Me) was used as the substrate, only the regioisomeric product of the corresponding thermodynamic enolate was obtained.  相似文献
