Strictly nilpotent elements and bispectral operators in the Weyl algebra

In this paper we give another characterization of the strictly nilpotent elements in the Weyl algebra, which (apart from the polynomials) turn out to be all bispectral operators with polynomial coefficients. This also allows to reformulate in terms of bispectral operators the famous conjecture, that all the endomorphisms of the Weyl algebra are automorphisms (Dixmier, Kirillov, etc).     

Multiplication operators on sobolev disk algebra

In this paper,we study the algebra consisting of analytic functions in the Sobolev space W~(2,2) (D) (D is the unit disk),called the Sobolev disk algebra,explore the properties of the multiplication operators M_f on it and give the characterization of the corn- mutant algebra A′(M_f) of M_f.We show that A′(M_f) is commutative if and only if M_f~* is a Cowen-Douglas operator of index 1.     

Automorphisms of infinite dimensional Lie algebras of Cartan type

In this paper it is proved that any automorphism of an infinite dimensional Lie algebra of Cartan type over an algebraically closed field of characteristicp>2 can be induced from an automorphism of the associated divided power algebra.     

Bethe algebra and the algebra of functions on the space of differential operators of order two with polynomial kernel

We show that the algebra of functions on the scheme of monic linear second-order ordinary differential operators with prescribed n + 1 regular singular points, prescribed exponents at the singular points, and having the kernel consisting of polynomials only, is isomorphic to the Bethe algebra of the Gaudin model acting on the vector space Sing of singular vectors of weight Λ^(∞) in the tensor product of finite-dimensional polynomial -modules with highest weights .      

Finite Blaschke product and the multiplication operators on Sobolev disk algebra

Let R(D) be the algebra generated in Sobolev space W22(D) by the rational functions with poles outside the unit disk D. In this paper the multiplication operators Mg on R(D) is studied and it is proved that Mg ～ Mzn if and only if g is an n-Blaschke product. Furthermore, if g is an n-Blaschke product, then Mg has uncountably many Banach reducing subspaces if and only if n > 1.     

q-Taylor and interpolation series for Jackson q-difference operators

We prove q-Taylor series for Jackson q-difference operators. Absolute and uniform convergence to the original function are proved for analytic functions. We derive interpolation results for entire functions of q-exponential growth which is less than lnq⁻¹, 0<q<1, from its values at the nodes , a is a non-zero complex number with absolute and uniform convergence criteria.     

Congruence of selfadjoint operators

Given a bounded selfadjoint operator a in a Hilbert space , the aim of this paper is to study the orbit of a, i.e., the set of operators which are congruent to a. We establish some necessary and sufficient conditions for an operator to be in the orbit of a. Also, the orbit of a selfadjoint operator with closed range is provided with a structure of differential manifold.      

Addendum to ‘Bosonic Formulas for (k,l)-Admissible Partitions’

In our previous paper we made a combinatorial study of (k, l)-admissible partitions. This object appeared already in the work of M. Primc as a label of a basis of level k-integrable modules over . We clarify the relation between these two works. As a byproduct we obtain an explicit parameterization of the affine Weyl group of by a simple combinatorial set.     

On the rate of approximation by q modified Beta operators

In the present paper we propose the q analogue of the modified Beta operators. We apply q-derivatives to obtain the central moments of the discrete q-Beta operators. A direct result in terms of modulus of continuity for the q operators is also established. We have also used the properties of q integral to establish the recurrence formula for the moments of q analogue of the modified Beta operators. We also establish an asymptotic formula. In the end we have also present the modification of such q operators so as to have better estimate.     

Automorphisms of the Toeplitz algebra with piecewise continuous symbol

The automorphism group of the Toeplitz algebra generated by the Toeplitz operators, whose symbols are continuous functions on the circle beside finitely fixed points, is characterized.     

On the Moore-Penrose inverse, EP Banach space operators, and EP Banach algebra elements

The main concern of this note is the Moore-Penrose inverse in the context of Banach spaces and algebras. Especially attention will be given to a particular class of elements with the aforementioned inverse, namely EP Banach space operators and Banach algebra elements, which will be studied and characterized extending well-known results obtained in the frame of Hilbert space operators and C^∗-algebra elements.     

Some approximation properties of q-Baskakov-Durrmeyer operators

Very recently Aral and Gupta [1] introduced q analogue of Baskakov-Durrmeyer operators. In the present paper we extend the studies, we establish the recurrence relations for the central moments and obtain an asymptotic formula. Also in the end we propose modified q-Baskakov-Durrmeyer operators, from which one can obtain better approximation results over compact interval.     

A note on approximation properties of q-Durrmeyer operators

In this paper, the approximation properties of q-Durrmeyer operators D_n,q(f;x) for f∈C[0,1] are discussed. The exact class of continuous functions satisfying approximation process lim_n→∞D_n,q(f;x)=f(x) is determined. The results of the paper provide an elaboration of the previously-known ones on operators D_n,q.     

An algebra of Stein operators

We build upon recent advances on the distributional aspect of Stein's method to propose a novel and flexible technique for computing Stein operators for random variables that can be written as products of independent random variables. We show that our results are valid for a wide class of distributions including normal, beta, variance-gamma, generalized gamma and many more. Our operators are kth degree differential operators with polynomial coefficients; they are straightforward to obtain even when the target density bears no explicit handle. As an application, we derive a new formula for the density of the product of k independent symmetric variance-gamma distributed random variables.
