Modified nucleosides in human serum.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Methylated purines and pyrimidines derived from the degradation of transfer ribonucleic acid have been shown to be excreted in abnormal amounts in the urine of patients with cancer. Recent technology developed by Gehrke and Kuo has allowed the separation and quantification of modified nucleosides in serum using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array measurement. Serum levels of ten modified nucleosides were measured in 37 normal healthy adults to establish normal values and to correlate activity with age and sex. In addition, serum levels of patients with several malignancies were measured to determine activity in these diseases. Levels of modified nucleosides in normal individuals were consistently reproducible and showed no significant variation among males versus females or with age. Patients with malignant diseases showed consistent elevations and these were highest in patients with more advanced disease. The evidence of no significant differences in the mean levels of modified nucleosides in serum with age or sex in normal adults and elevations in patients with malignancies demonstrate the potential value of modified nucleosides as cancer biomarkers.  相似文献

The results of Monte Carlo simulations of systems of rodlike molecules with semiflexible terminal groups are compared with those of systems with terminal groups at a fixed angle τ with respect to the rigid core and with those of a system containing the rigid cores alone in the same total volume. The nematic/isotropic transition temperature decreases with increasing flexibility or with increasing τ. For semiflexible groups, the transition is coupled with a conformational change favouring more extended conformations in the nematic phase. The results of the simulations are discussed in connection with those obtained for similar models in the recent literature and with the predictions of the Maier‐Saupe and Flory‐Ronca‐Irvine theories.  相似文献

The mechanism of the occurrence of intraatomic diamagnetic currents in the neutral He atoms with microscopic sizes is investigated. It is found that most of all electrons can form electron pairs originating from attractive Coulomb interactions between two electrons with opposite spins occupying the 1s atomic orbital in the neutral He atom at 298 K. Intraatomic diamagnetic currents in the neutral He atoms with microscopic sizes can be explained by such electron pairing. The transition temperature Tc(He),(1s) value at which intraatomic diamagnetic currents can disappear in each He atom is estimated. The Tc(He),(1s) values for the neutral He atoms with microscopic sizes are estimated to be much larger than the superconducting transition temperatures Tc,BCS values for the conventional superconductors with macroscopic sizes. This result can be understood from continuous energy levels of electronic states in conventional superconductivity with macroscopic sizes, and from discrete energy levels of electronic states in the neutral He atoms with microscopic sizes. The energy difference between the occupied and unoccupied orbitals decreases with an increase in material size and thus the second-order perturbation effect becomes more important with an increase in material size. Therefore, the mechanism of the occurrence of intraatomic diamagnetic current in the neutral He atoms suggested in this research would not be true for materials with large sizes. The dependence of electronic properties on temperature in the diamagnetic currents in the neutral He atoms with microscopic sizes is studied and compared with that in the conventional superconductivity with macroscopic sizes.  相似文献

Bone marrow scintigraphy with indium chloride (111In) was performed in fifty-one patients with the hematological diseases. The results of the investigation were that 1. in all patients, as well as in patients with aplastic anemia, no correlation was there between the degree of the indium chloride accumulation and peripheral blood counts, 2. in patients with aplastic anemia and pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) a tendency to reduction in uptake of indium chloride in bone marrow, 3. in patients with these two good correlation between the degree of indium chloride accumulation and histology of the erythroid bone marrow, but in patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) and atypical leukemia no correlation between the two, so it seemed unlikely that indium chloride should reflect the effective production of erythrocytes, 4. four patients with leukemia were studied with indium chloride bone marrow imaging two times to evaluate their responses to chemotherapy, and peripheral expansion was no change or reduced in two patients with acute myelocytic leukemia (AML) and one patient with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) who obtained complete remission, but on the other hand, it enlarged in one patient with acute myelocytic leukemia who obtained partial remission, and 5. in two patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia it enlarged up to the ankle joints, which was considerably specific.  相似文献

Joint IR and computational results allow a detailed characterization of the surface properties of a mesoporous benzene-silica hybrid material with crystal-like wall structure. After outgassing at 450 degrees C, hydroxyl species mainly consist of noninteracting silanols, with both O-H and Si-O stretching modes at lower frequencies than those of SiOH in silica. Interaction with several probe molecules, followed both by experiment and calculus, shows that the aryl group in the coordination sphere of Si imparts a lesser acidity with respect to the isolated silanol in silica. In contrast, adsorption isotherms indicate that the interaction with acetone is stronger with benzene-silica than with silica: this is interpreted in terms of secondary interactions taking place between the slightly acidic CH in acetone and the electronic cloud in benzene-like rings. This suggests that both the inorganic component and the organic one play a role in dictating the surface behavior.  相似文献

A method is described for the determination of tetramethylsuccinonitrile (TMSN) in poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) products in contact with food. TMSN was extracted from PVC with dichloromethane, steam distilled, extracted from the distillate with dichloromethane, then determined with a gas chromatograph equipped with a nitrogen-phosphorus detector and a 6-ft. glass column packed with Chromosorb W coated with 5% Thermon 1000 plus 0.5% phosphoric acid. Recoveries between 98.3 and 100.6% were obtained in the range of 0.5-12.5 ppm of TMSN by the use of nitrobenzene as an internal standard. The detection limit was 0.05 ppm of TMSN in 1 g of PVC products. The highest residue to TMSN found in PVC products in contact with food was 13.9 ppm.  相似文献

Friedel-Crafts polycondensation of β-resorcylic acid (BRA) with p-xylylene dichloride (PXDC) or 4,4′-dichloromethyldiphenyl ether (DDE) in dioxane could be effected without simultaneous decarboxylation of BRA. The similar polycondensation of BRA with PXDC, DDE, or 4,4′-dichloroacetyldiphenyl ether (DADE) in nitrobenzene or in the absence of solvent at 150°C was associated with decarboxylation of BRA. Polymers having structures isomeric with those of the polycondensation product of BRA formed with subsequent in situ decarboxylation were prepared by Friedel-Crafts polycondensation of resorcinol with the above dichlorides. All the polymer samples were characterized, and those with related structures were compared. The ion-exchange properties of the polymer sample prepared from BRA and DDE in dioxane were studied.  相似文献

We present a macroscopic model of ionic diffusion in bentonites including the effect of the hydraulic-electrical-chemical couplings expected in such charged porous medium. The anomalous concentrations of the ions in the pore water of the bentonite are modeled with a modified Donnan model in which we account for the partition of the counterions between the Stern and Gouy-Chapman layers. This is accomplished using an electric triple layer (TLM) model combined with an explicit complexation model at the mineral/water interface. The porosity entering into the determination of the formation factor of the medium is an effective porosity obtained by removing the fraction of hydration water covering the surface of the clay minerals. We investigate two different cases of diffusion. In the first case, we consider a salinity gradient between two reservoirs in contact with a cylindrical sample of bentonite. The model predicts an increase of the diffusivity of the salt with the salinity of the solution in contact with the bentonite in agreement with experimental data. In the second case, we analyze a self-diffusion experiment of an ionic tracer. The model predicts an increase of the diffusivity of anions with the effective porosity and with the ionic strength. This is also in good agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

The content of Zn,Cu,Pb,Cd in the hair of 82 children with hepatitis was determined. The results showed that the content of hair Zn in most children with hepatits decreased while hair Cu in 1/4 of the children with acute hepatitis and 1/8 of those with chronic hepatitis increased.The patients whose hair Cu was lower took up about 1/3 of the children with chronic hepatitis, which was three times as the children with acute hepatitis.The content of hair Pb in the 1/5 patients increased while hair Cd increased in only 1/10 of the children with acute hepatitis.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective method is described for the quantitative determination of paraquat in marijuana. Paraquat is extracted from finely ground plant material with hydrochloric acid with sonification, and the resulting acidic solution is extracted with chloroform:isopropanol (9:1) and evaporated to dryness. The residue is reconstituted with aqueous phosphate buffer pH 7.0; the solution is passed through a C-18 SEP-PAK TM and is analyzed with high performance liquid chromatography, using a reversed-phase column and an "ion pairing" reagent in the mobile phase. The recovery of paraquat in laboratory-spiked material varied from 90-97%. Results obtained with confiscated, field-sprayed marijuana by the procedure described were in excellent agreement with those obtained with a well-established ultraviolet procedure. The calculated limit of detection with this method is 2 ng of paraquat.  相似文献

The study was performed to compare the effect of magnesium modifier (magnesium nitrate) with that of other modifiers (palladium nitrate and nickel nitrate) in determination of arsenic, antimony and selenium by atomic absorption spectroscopy with atomization in a graphite tube, with generation of hydrides and in situ preconcentration in a graphite tube. The assumed criterion of a modifier performance was the magnitude of the analytical signal. It was found that in determinations with atomization in a graphite furnace the effects of all these modifiers were comparable, while in those with hydride generation and in situ preconcentration in a graphite tube the magnesium modifier showed poorer performance (25% decrease of the analytical signal). In determinations of arsenic and selenium the analytical signal obtained with magnesium salt as a modifier was comparable with those obtained in the presence of all other modifiers.  相似文献

检测了174例男性不育症患者精浆锌、铁、铅、钙、镁等五种微量元素,以探讨不育症患者精浆微量元素含量与精液质量的关系。结果显示:(1)粘稠性精液组精浆锌含量显著低于正常粘度精液组(P<0.01),精浆钙含量低于正常度精液组(P<0.05),铁、铅、镁含量无差异(P<0.05)。(2)无精子及少精子症组精浆铁、钙含量高于精子密度正常组(P<0.01),铜含量低于精子密度正常组(P<0.01),锌、镁含量无差异(P<0.05)。(3)精子活动率低下组与正常组浆微量元素含量无差异(P<0.05)。提示精浆锌、铁、铅、钙等微量元素含量改变是影响精液质量的重要原因之一。精浆镁含量与精液质量似无明显关系。  相似文献

The influence of carotenoids on partial protochlorophyllide (Pchlide) photoreduction and the successive formation of long-wavelength chlorophyllide (Chlide) forms was studied by low-temperature fluorescence spectroscopy (77 K). Wheat leaves with a decreased content of carotenoids obtained from norflurazon-treated seedlings (10 and 100 micromol l(-1)) were compared with leaves containing normal amounts of these pigments. Partial photoreduction of Pchlide was achieved by irradiation of the leaves with one light flash in combination with a number of neutral gray and/or red Perspex filters. There were significant differences between the fluorescence emission spectra (the position and height of the peaks) of dark-grown normal and carotenoid-deficient leaves irradiated with non-saturating white light of increasing intensity. The long-wavelength Chlide forms appeared first in the leaves nearly devoid of carotenoids (treated with 100 micromol l(-1) norflurazon), then in the leaves with carotenoid deficiency (treated with 10 micromol l(-1) norflurazon), and finally in normal leaves. After irradiation with non-saturating light of the same intensity, the ratio Chlide/Pchlide(657) was always the highest in the leaves nearly deficient of carotenoids, medium in the leaves with carotenoid deficiency and lowest in the normal leaves. Similarly to white light, red light of low intensity induced faster formation of long-wavelength Chlide species in the leaves with carotenoid deficiency in comparison to the normal leaves. We propose that, in leaves with reduced carotenoid content, a greater number of Pchlide molecules transform to Chlide per light flash than in normal leaves. The results are discussed in relation to the involvement of carotenoids in competitive absorption and light screening, as well as to their influence on Pchlide-Chlide interactions.  相似文献

Dimedone adduct with 1,2-dibenzoylethene in reaction with p-phenylenediamine formed a bispyrrole derivative, and with benzidine and ethylenediamine afforded the corresponding monopyrroles. The reaction of the initial adduct with tryptamine results in a product containing a pyrrole and an indole fragments. Both versions of N-heterocyclization proceed in the reaction with urea yielding derivatives of tetrahydroindole and pyrrole. In the reaction with hydrazine hydrate a substituted pyridazine was obtained as a result of a dimedone molecule elimination from the intermediate cyclization product.  相似文献

为探讨鼻咽癌患者放疗期间合并应用金蒲抑瘤片治疗对细胞免疫功能及血中微量元素硒、锌、铜的影响,经病理证实鼻咽癌患者58例,随机分为放疗服药组30例和单纯放疗组28例。两组放疗前后抽静脉血测定T细胞亚群(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),血中微量元素硒,锌,铜并与30例健康者(正常对照组)进行比较。结果表明,鼻咽癌患者血中微量元素硒,锌,铜及CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+显著低于健康人,放疗期间合并应用金蒲抑瘤片治疗后血中微量元素硒,锌,铜及CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+较服药前显著升高。提示鼻咽癌患者细胞免疫功能低下,血中微量元素硒,锌,铜显著低于健康人。金蒲抑瘤片能提高鼻咽癌患者因中微量元素硒,锌,铜含量,使低下的细胞免疫功能迅速恢复。  相似文献

This communication presents the experimental study and performance analysis of a solar air heater with and without phase change material (PCM) viz. paraffin wax and hytherm oil. There are three different arrangements viz. without PCM, with PCM and with hytherm oil to study the comparative performance of this experimental system. Inlet, outlet temperatures and radiation with respect to time have been recorded and found that the output temperature in case with thermal energy storage (TES) is higher than that of without TES, besides, the outlet temperature with paraffin wax is slightly greater than that of with hytherm oil. Also there is no energy gain in the evening in case of without TES but in case of with TES there is a heat gain for around 4 h in the evening which gives the backup for hot air for around four more hours which is the main advantage of this systems with TES. Based on the data, the efficiency of the system has been calculated and it is noted that the efficiency in the case of heat storage is higher than that of without TES, besides the efficiency in the case of the paraffin wax is slightly higher than that of the hytherm oil case.  相似文献
