The role of π- and -meson exchange currents and dynamic Δ-isobar currents with both π- and -exchange are studied in two-nucleon knockout reactions. The Gottfried approximation is tested for these different absorption mechanisms by making a comparison between a factorized (Gottfried) model and an unfactorized model. For the unfactorized model, analytical expressions are given for the different absorption mechanisms by using harmonic-oscillator wavefunctions. The formalism is applied to the 16O(γ,pn) reaction in the photon-energy range Eγ = 60–300 MeV. Over the whole energy range, the -meson degree of freedom is found not to be negligible. It is demonstrated that the unfactorized treatment leads to a sizeable reduction of the cross section and to a change of the shape of the angular cross section.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for Compton scattering by the proton have been measured in the energy interval between 200 and 500 MeV at scattering angles of θcms = 75° and θcms = 90° using the CATS, the CATS/TRAJAN, and the COPP setups with the Glasgow Tagger at MAMI (Mainz). The data are compared with predictions from dispersion theory using photo-meson amplitudes from the recent VPI solution SM95. The experiment and the theoretical procedure are described in detail. It is found that the experiment and predictions are in agreement as far as the energy dependence of the differential cross sections in the Δ-range is concerned. However, there is evidence that a scaling down of the resonance part of the M1+3/2 photo-meson amplitude by (2.8 ± 0.9)% is required in comparison with the VPI analysis. The deduced value of the M1+3/2-photoproduction amplitude at the resonance energy of 320 MeV is: |M1+3/2| = (39.6 ± 0.4) × 10−3 mπ+−1.  相似文献

We extend a recent three-loop calculation of nuclear matter by including the effects from two-pion exchange with single and double virtual Δ(1232)-isobar excitation. Regularization dependent short-range contributions from pion-loops are encoded in a few NN-contact coupling constants. The empirical saturation point of isospin-symmetric nuclear matter, , ρ0=0.16 fm−3, can be well reproduced by adjusting the strength of a two-body term linear in density (and tuning an emerging three-body term quadratic in density). The nuclear matter compressibility comes out as K=304 MeV. The real single-particle potential U(p,kf0) is substantially improved by the inclusion of the chiral πNΔ-dynamics: it grows now monotonically with the nucleon momentum p. The effective nucleon mass at the Fermi surface takes on a realistic value of M*(kf0)=0.88M. As a consequence of these features, the critical temperature of the liquid-gas phase transition gets lowered to the value Tc15 MeV. In this work we continue the complex-valued single-particle potential U(p,kf)+iW(p,kf) into the region above the Fermi surface p>kf. The effects of 2π-exchange with virtual Δ-excitation on the nuclear energy density functional are also investigated. The effective nucleon mass associated with the kinetic energy density is . Furthermore, we find that the isospin properties of nuclear matter get significantly improved by including the chiral πNΔ-dynamics. Instead of bending downward above ρ0 as in previous calculations, the energy per particle of pure neutron matter and the asymmetry energy A(kf) now grow monotonically with density. In the density regime ρ=2ρn<0.2 fm−3 relevant for conventional nuclear physics our results agree well with sophisticated many-body calculations and (semi)-empirical values.  相似文献

Anomalies are found in the near-band-edge luminescence properties of Δ2-light-hole indirect excitons in Si1−yCy-based tensilely strained quantum wells (QWs). The experimental spectra exhibit a clear signature of phonon-assisted transitions on the lower energy side of the “no-phonon” transition, which indicates the relevance of “virtual” indirect valleys and in-plane k-dispersion, as opposed to the theoretical prediction that the zone-centered Δ2 valleys take over the conduction band edge. Intervalley scattering between [0 0 1]-Δ2 valleys and in-plane Δ4 valleys is suggested as the underlying mechanism. On the other hand, the experimental evidence was found for “apparently enhanced” quantum-confined Stark red shifts for Si1−yCy-based QWs. However, quantitative estimates are in conflict with the experimental results and predict a blue shift due to exciton weakening which masks the Stark effect as in the case of Δ4-heavy hole excitons in Si1−xGex-based QWs.  相似文献

Elastic quantum bound-state reflection from a hard-wall boundary provides direct information regarding the structure and compressibility of quantum bound states. We discuss elastic quantum bound-state reflection and derive a general theory for elastic reflection of shallow dimers from hard-wall surfaces using effective field theory. We show that there is a small expansion parameter for analytic calculations of the reflection scattering length. We present a calculation up to second order in the effective Hamiltonian in one, two, and three dimensions. We also provide numerical lattice results for all three cases as a comparison with our effective field theory results. Finally, we provide an analysis of the compressibility of the alpha particle confined to a cubic lattice with vanishing Dirichlet boundaries.  相似文献

The impact of bound states in Landauer‐Büttiker scattering approach to non‐equilibrium quantum transport is investigated. We show that the noise power at frequency ν is sensitive to all bound states with energies ωb satisfying . We derive the exact expression of the bound state contribution and compare it to the one produced by the scattering states alone. The theoretical and experimental consequences of this result are discussed.  相似文献

In this work the bound state and scattering problems for a spin- 1/2 particle undergone to an Aharonov–Bohm potential in a conical space in the nonrelativistic limit are considered. The presence of a δδ-function singularity, which comes from the Zeeman spin interaction with the magnetic flux tube, is addressed by the self-adjoint extension method. One of the advantages of the present approach is the determination of the self-adjoint extension parameter in terms of physics of the problem. Expressions for the energy bound states, phase-shift and SS matrix are determined in terms of the self-adjoint extension parameter, which is explicitly determined in terms of the parameters of the problem. The relation between the bound state and zero modes and the failure of helicity conservation in the scattering problem and its relation with the gyromagnetic ratio gg are discussed. Also, as an application, we consider the spin- 1/2 Aharonov–Bohm problem in conical space plus a two-dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator.  相似文献

A parameter-free, nonperturbative calculation of the ΔNγ electromagnetic transition amplitudes GM*(q2), GE*(q2), and the resonant multipole ratio REM(q2)≡E1+3/2(q2)/M1+3/2(q2) is performed in terms of the well-known nucleon isovector Sachs form factor GMV. Our methods are fully relativistic with conservation of the electromagnetic current guaranteed. We find that GM*(q2) decreases more rapidly than the nucleon dipole form factor when −q21 GeV2/c2 and that REM(q2) remains small even for very high four-momentum transfer implying that the perturbative QCD prediction REM(q2)→1 is purely asymptotic and is valid only for extremely high |q2|.  相似文献

Self-assembly of β-Ga2O3 (beta-gallium oxide) nanobelts with diameters of 50–100 nm and lengths of tens to hundreds of microns have been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Under appropriate conditions such as nanobelts concentration, controlled solvent evaporation, β-Ga2O3 nanobelts assemble into a fan-like structure on the substrate. A tendency of these nanobelts to align parallel to each other was also observed. The mechanism behind the formation of self-assembly of β-Ga2O3 nanobelts has been proposed on the basis of lateral capillary forces.  相似文献

An experimental arrangement for ns lifetime measurements in nuclear reactions is briefly described. The half-life of the level at 208.1 keV in 171Lu has been determined in the reaction 169Tm(, 2n) 171Lu as . Delayed and populating γ-ray spectra have been measured, applying the method of delayed γ-γ coincidences. In the radioactive decay of 173Hf, the lifetime of the level at 425.1 keV in 173Lu has been measured as . Comparisons with Weisskopf and Nilsson estimates have been performed taking into account pairing correlations. A modified Nilsson Hamiltonian has been used. The dependence of El transition probabilities between the states and on the difference of the initial- and final-state deformations is studied. Qualitative agreement with semi-microscopic calculations of equilibrium deformations is found. Lifetimes of the states are estimated.  相似文献

The production rate for η′ in ppppη′ at rest is calculated in a covariant one boson exchange model, previously applied to study π0 and η production in NN collisions. The transition amplitudes for the elementary BN → η′N processes with B being the meson exchanged (B = π, σ, η, , ω and a0) are taken to be the sum of s- and u-channels with a nucleon in the intermediate states, and an a0 meson pole in a t-channel. The couplings of the η′ to hadrons are a factor 0.4 weaker than the respective η-hadron couplings, as suggested by a quark model and a singlet-octet mixing angle θ = −23°. The model reproduces near threshold cross sections for the quasielastic processes πpnη(η′) and ppppη(η′) reactions.  相似文献

In a gaseous helium or hydrogen target slow muons or antiprotons are captured into orbits with a high principal quantum number (n = 15 to 50) to form (μ? α)+ ions, (p α)+ ions, or (p p) atoms respectively. In the subsequent deexcitation process Stark mixing of the intermediary states plays an important role. The successful Mainz Cascade Model assumed Δn = 0 for the Stark transitions, although formally no such selection rule exists. This note examines the reasons why Δn ≠ 0 Stark transitions play only a negligible role in the deexcitation cascade.  相似文献

Spectra of electrons with energies between 5 and 40 keV reflected from a homogeneous Au surface have been measured and analyzed to give the normalized distribution of energy losses in a single surface and volume excitation, as well as the total probability for excitation of surface plasmons. The resulting single scattering loss distributions compare excellently in (absolute units) with data from previous work taken at lower energies (150-3400 eV). An empirical relationship is derived for the total surface excitation probability as a function of the energy. For high energies the surface scattering zone represents only a small fraction of a typical electron trajectory and hence interference effects should be small at these energies. Since we find that both the energy dependence of the surface plasmon excitation probability and the shape of the single scattering loss distributions are the same at high and low electron energies, we conclude that there is no evidence for interference effects in the entire energy range studied.  相似文献

Quantum close-coupling and coupled-state approximation scattering calculations for rotational energy transfer of rotationally excited CH4 due to collisions with He are presented for collision energies between 10−7 and 3000 cm−1 using the MP4 potential of Calderoni et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 121, 8261 (2004)]. State-to-state cross sections and rate coefficients from selected initial rotational states of CH4 in symmetries A, E, and F are studied from the ultra-cold to the thermal regime. Comparison of the cross sections with available theoretical results and experimental data show good agreement. Applications to astrophysics and cold laboratory environments are briefly addressed.  相似文献

Track method (using the CN and CR-39 detectors, spark couner of tracks as well as selective sorbents for plutonium and uranium) is applied in 1994 and 1995 together with many other methods in radioecological monitoring of water in the region of the sunken nuclear submarine (NS) “Komsomolets”. The detection assembles were installed with the help of the submersibles MIR. The results obtained inside the NS and on its surface as well as near and on the remote buoy station do not contradict the data obtained by other methods confirming the absence of the plutonium leakage outside of the submarine.  相似文献

Light is usually confined in photonic structures with a band gap or relatively high refractive index for broad scientific and technical applications. Here, a light confinement mechanism is proposed based on the photonic bound state in the continuum (BIC). In a low‐refractive‐index waveguide on a high‐refractive‐index thin membrane, optical dissipation is forbidden because of the destructive interference of various leakage channels. The BIC‐based low‐mode‐area waveguide and high‐Q microresonator can be used to enhance light–matter interaction for laser, nonlinear optical and quantum optical applications. For example, a polymer structure on a diamond membrane shows excellent optical performance that can be achieved with large fabrication tolerance. It can induce strong coupling between photons and the nitrogen–vacancy center in diamond for scalable quantum information processors and networks.

Rotational analyses have been performed on the emission spectra of the 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3 bands of the β system (c1Φ - a1Δ) of the TiO molecule, excited in a microwave discharge through a mixture of helium, oxygen and TiCl4 vapor. Rotational constants were obtained for all the bands from which the following equilibrium constants were derived. Be=0.52301±0.00008 cm, αe=0.00313±0.0006 cm, re=1.6391±0.0001 AHigher order constants, Dv and Hv, were calculated for the various vibrational levels.  相似文献

We report on the experimental observation of bound states of solitons in an erbium-doped fiber laser passively mode-locked by the carbon nanotube saturable absorber. Bound states of solitons with various pulse separations are obtained. While the tightly bound solitons always exhibit the same set of fixed discrete pulse separations with π or π/2 phase difference, the feature becomes less obvious for the loosely bound solitons. The result that various states of the bound solitons were obtained in the same fiber laser makes a systematic experimental study on them and a comparison of their properties possible. Our results once again show that the bound soliton emission is an intrinsic feature of the mode-locked soliton fiber lasers.  相似文献

The doubly special relativity (DSR) theories are suggested in order to incorporate an observer‐independent length scale in special theory of relativity. The Magueijo‐Smolin proposal of DSR is realizable through a particular form of the noncommutative (NC) spacetime (known as κ‐Minkowski spacetime) in which the Lorentz symmetry is preserved. In this framework, the NC parameter κ provides the origin of natural cutoff energy scale. Using a nonlinear deformed relativistic dispersion relation along with the Lorentz transformations, we investigate some phenomenological facets of two‐body collision problem (without creation of new particles) in a κ‐Minkowski spacetime. By treating an elastic scattering problem, we study effects of the Planck scale energy cutoff on some relativistic kinematical properties of this scattering problem. The results are challenging in the sense that as soon as one turns on the κ‐spacetime extension, the nature of the two‐body collision alters from elastic to inelastic one. It is shown also that a significant kinematical variable involving in heavy ion collisions, the rapidity, is not essentially an additive quantity under a sequence of the nonlinear representation of the Lorentz transformations.
