Fragmentation cross sections are essential input parameters for propagation calculations which describe the effect of shielding against cosmic ray heavy nuclei by the walls of spacecraft or planetary habitat. Cross sections for the breakup of different elements are needed for different types of target material and for a wide range of energy.

For this purpose, we have extended our studies of projectile fragmentation. By using stacks containing CR-39 track detectors and targets ranging from CH2 to Pb we have measured total and elemental fragmentation cross sections for fragments with charges ZF>5, for silicon projectiles with energies of 490 AMeV. These new data sets allow us to improve our knowledge about the target and energy dependence of fragmentation cross sections.  相似文献

用统计擦碎模型计算了140AMeV40,48Ca+9Be和58,64Ni+9Be弹核碎裂反应产物的截面.通过对碎片截面计算结果和实验测量结果的比较发现,采用自由空间的核子-核子反应截面计算时,对非中心反应产物的截面拟合很好,而对中心反应产物的截面有较大高估,而采用饱和密度相关的核子-核子反应截面计算时,对非周边反应产物的截面拟合较好,而对周边反应产物的截面有一定程度的低估.在统计擦碎模型中,对核子-核子反应截面进行细致的介质密度关联,可能会改进计算值与实验值的符合程度.  相似文献

Two characteristic types of spots which are frequently found in electron mirror microscope images are interpreted as caustic cross sections caused by local surface charges. Negative charges produce dark circular spots with a bright edge while the caustic cross sections produced by positive charges are of the type well known from the caustic surfaces of electron lenses suffering from spherical aberration and astigmatism. The bright edge in the negative caustic is accompanied by a second edge which in all practical cases is much less intense and consequently invisible.  相似文献

Based on the eikonal approximation, cross sections for single and double ionization of hydrogen and helium atoms in collisions with structural multiply charged heavy ions moving with relativistic velocities are calculated. In the present paper, the structural ions are taken to mean the ions with partially filled electronic shells. It is demonstrated that a consideration of the ion charge extension may noticeably change the corresponding cross sections compared to the cross sections for ionization by point ions having the same charges and energies.  相似文献

本文主要利用扭曲波玻恩交换近似方法(DBE)计算类氦离子在电子碰撞下,相应不同的末态电子能量分配的电离截面(能量微分截面)。发现对这些微分截面在不同靶电荷及入射能量下,都可用带两个参数的高斯函数αexp(β(x—0.5)2)很好地拟合。还给出两个拟合参数随靶电荷和入射能量的变化曲线,以及讨论了在库仑波玻恩交换近似(CBE)和DBE两种不同近似下所得参数值的差别。计算结果也表阴,在低靶电荷和低入射能量时用DBE计算的必要性。 关键词:  相似文献

报道Ar^q Ne(q=8,9,11,12)碰撞体系中多电子转移过程,得到了多组实验测量电荷交换截面数据,讨论入射离子电荷交换截面、反冲离子产生截面与入射离子电荷态、能量以及散射离子电荷态的关系,并且将实验结果与Ar^q Ar碰撞体系进行对比研究。在修正分子库仑过垒模型的基础上,对实验现象做了合理的解释。  相似文献

Charge-loss and fission cross-sections of238U at 750 A·MeV were measured on Al, Cu and Pb targets. The charge-loss rate was obtained by the attenuation method. Fission was selected by detecting the pair of highly ionizing fragments. Since the neutron-loss cross sections were measured in a parallel experiment for the same projectiles, all cross sections contributing to238U collisions on nuclei are available now as function of the target mass number and can be compared with current models.  相似文献

The isotopic cross sections of residual nuclei produced in fragmentation reactions of 18O projectiles impinging on a carbon target at energies near 260 MeV/nucleon were measured at the HIRFL facility in Lanzhou (China). A full identification of atomic and mass numbers of fragments was achieved from the determination of their magnetic rigidity, energy loss, and time of flight. The production cross sections for a dozen of nitrogen, carbon, and boron isotopes were determined with uncertainties below 30% for most of the cases. The obtained cross sections for N and B isotopes show a rather good agreement with previous experimental data obtained with different projectile energies. The cross sections for some C isotopes seem to exhibit a dependence on the projectile energy. A comparison of the data and several theoretical model calculations are presented.  相似文献

A two-humped model was proposed for explaining the suppression of the cross sections for the deep-subbarrier fusion of spherical nuclei that have intermediate atomic numbers. It was shown that the suppression of these cross sections was due to the interference between the incident and reflected fluxes between the two barriers. The results of fitting the cross sections calculated within the two-humped model revealed the invariability of the distance between the vertices of the two barriers. As the charges of colliding nuclei increase, the inner barrier becomes higher than the outer one, and this determines the competition with cross sections for deep-inelastic-transfer reactions.  相似文献

The total charge-changing cross sections and partial cross sections for the production of projectile fragments are measured in the interactions of 400 A MeV 20Ne with aluminum, carbon and polyethylene targets sandwiched with CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors. The measured total charge-changing cross sections are compared with the predictions using the Bradt-Peters semi-empirical formula, and the NUCFRAG2 and PHITS models. It is shown that the measured experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical model prediction and other experimental results, and it can be clearly seen that the partial cross sections for fragment production show obvious odd-even effects.  相似文献

An experimental technique for measuring the cross sections of direct and dissociative ionization of N2, O2, H2O, and CO2 molecules by electron impact in the near-threshold energy range is described. The setup used in the experiments allows mass separation of ions with a monopole mass spectrometer. It is shown that such a setup can be used to advantage in separation experiments. For incident electron energies between 7 and 35 eV, the energy dependences of the cross sections of generation of parent ions and ion fragments due to parent molecule dissociation are obtained.  相似文献

Production cross sections of more than 270 isotopes ranging from Z = 59 to Z = 82 were measured in the reaction 208Pb(1 GeV A)+Cu. The method of identifying the projectile fragments and evaluating the production cross sections is described. The experimental data are compared with a modern version of the abrasion-ablation model and with the empirical parameterization EPAX. Apart from deviations in the details they both show an overall good agreement. The cross sections of those fragments which are produced by the removal of protons only test the lower part of the excitation energy distribution. For the first time, the four-proton removal channel could be observed.  相似文献

An experimental technique is described, and the relative cross sections of the single and dissociative electron-impact ionizations of the freon-12 molecule (CCl2F2) in the near-threshold energy range are obtained. The experiment is performed on a device that provides the mass separation and recording of ions with a monopole mass spectrometer. The mass spectrum of the freon-12 molecule is measured at various ionizing-electron energies, and the relative cross sections of dissociative ionization are measured for the most intense ion fragments, including isotope-containing fragments. The threshold dependences of these cross sections are used to determine the appearance potentials of the ion fragments. The isotope shift in the thresh-old appearance energies of ion fragments [C35ClF2]+ and [C37ClF2]+ is measured for the first time.  相似文献

Spallation residues and fission fragments from 1A GeV 238U projectiles irradiating a liquid hydrogen target were investigated by using the fragment separator at GSI for magnetic selection of reaction products including ray-tracing, energy-loss and time-of-flight techniques. The longitudinal-momentum spectra of identified fragments were analyzed, and evaporation residues and fission fragments could be separated. For 1385 nuclides, production cross sections down to values of 10 microb with a mean accuracy of 15%, velocities in the uranium rest frame and kinetic energies were determined. In the reaction all elements from uranium to nitrogen were found, each with a large number of isotopes.  相似文献

Spallation residues produced in 1 GeV per nucleon 208Pb on proton reactions have been studied using the Fragment Separator facility at GSI. Isotopic production cross sections of elements from 61Pm to 82Pb have been measured down to 0.1 mb with a high accuracy. The recoil kinetic energies of the produced fragments were also determined. The obtained cross sections agree with most of the few existing gamma-spectroscopic data. The data are compared with different intranuclear-cascade and evaporation-fission models. Drastic deviations were found for a standard code used in technical applications.  相似文献

Based on a Monte Carlo realization of the Dual Parton Model we study the production of target associated particles and of nuclear fragments in high energy hadronnucleus interactions. A formation zone intranuclear cascade of low energy secondaries inside the target nucleus is discussed. We calculate excitation energies of residual nuclei left after the intranuclear cascade process and treat their fürther disintegration by introducing models for the evaporation of protons, neutrons, and light fragments, high energy fission, and by applying a Fermi Break-up model to light nuclear fragments. The results are compared to data on target associated particle production. We fürthermore calculate cross sections for the production of nuclear fragments.  相似文献

Absolute photofission cross sections of 235,238U have been measured in the energy range 40–105 MeV with “tagged” photons, using parallel plate avalanche counters for a direct detection of the fission fragments. The measured cross sections are nearly constant in the investigated energy range and amount to about 17 mb for both isotopes. The results are compared with recent photoneutron data.  相似文献

A total of 1720 16O-emulsion nucleus interactions at 150–200 MeV/nucleon have been investigated. Production cross sections of multiply charged projectile fragments are given. It is found that the cross section for the production of N, C, B and Be projectile fragments in 16O-nucleus interactions is similar at 0.2 and 2 GeV/nucleon. The fragmentation cross sections for Li and He are larger at 0.2 than at 2 GeV/nucleon.  相似文献
