A combined experimental and theoretical study of the two‐photon absorption (2PA) properties of a series of quadrupolar molecules possessing a highly electron‐rich heterocyclic core, pyrrolo[3,2‐b]pyrrole, is presented. In agreement with quantum‐chemical calculations, large 2PA cross‐section values, σ2PA≈102–103 GM (1 GM=1050 cm4 s photon?1), are observed at wavelengths of 650–700 nm, which correspond to the two‐photon allowed but one‐photon forbidden transitions. The calculations also predict that increased planarity of this molecule through removal of two N‐substituents leads to further increase in the σ2PA values. Surprisingly, the most quadrupolar pyrrolo[3,2‐b]pyrrole derivative, containing two 4‐nitrophenyl substituents at positions 2 and 5, demonstrates a very strong solvatofluorochromic effect, with a fluorescence quantum yield as high as 0.96 in cyclohexane, whereas the fluorescence vanishes in DMSO.  相似文献

A new phosphorescent dinuclear cationic iridium(III) complex ( Ir1 ) with a donor–acceptor–π‐bridge–acceptor–donor (D? A? π? A? D)‐conjugated oligomer ( L1 ) as a N^N ligand and a triarylboron compound as a C^N ligand has been synthesized. The photophysical and excited‐state properties of Ir1 and L1 were investigated by UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and molecular‐orbital calculations, and they were compared with those of the mononuclear iridium(III) complex [Ir(Bpq)2(bpy)]+PF6? ( Ir0 ). Compared with Ir0 , complex Ir1 shows a more‐intense optical‐absorption capability, especially in the visible‐light region. For example, complex Ir1 shows an intense absorption band that is centered at λ=448 nm with a molar extinction coefficient (ε) of about 104, which is rarely observed for iridium(III) complexes. Complex Ir1 displays highly efficient orange–red phosphorescent emission with an emission wavelength of 606 nm and a quantum efficiency of 0.13 at room temperature. We also investigated the two‐photon‐absorption properties of complexes Ir0 , Ir1 , and L1 . The free ligand ( L1 ) has a relatively small two‐photon absorption cross‐section (δmax=195 GM), but, when complexed with iridium(III) to afford dinuclear complex Ir1 , it exhibits a higher two‐photon‐absorption cross‐section than ligand L1 in the near‐infrared region and an intense two‐photon‐excited phosphorescent emission. The maximum two‐photon‐absorption cross‐section of Ir1 is 481 GM, which is also significantly larger than that of Ir0 . In addition, because the strong B? F interaction between the dimesitylboryl groups and F? ions interrupts the extended π‐conjugation, complex Ir1 can be used as an excellent one‐ and two‐photon‐excited “ON–OFF” phosphorescent probe for F? ions.  相似文献

Five centrosymmetric and one dipolar pyrrolo[3,2‐b ]pyrroles, possessing either two or one strongly electron‐withdrawing nitro group have been synthesized in a straightforward manner from simple building blocks. For the symmetric compounds, the nitroaryl groups induced spontaneous breaking of inversion symmetry in the excited state, thereby leading to large solvatofluorochromism. To study the origin of this effect, the series employed peripheral structural motifs that control the degree of conjugation via altering of dihedral angle between the 4‐nitrophenyl moiety and the electron‐rich core. We observed that for compounds with a larger dihedral angle, the fluorescence quantum yield decreased quickly when exposed to even moderately polar solvents. Reducing the dihedral angle (i.e., placing the nitrobenzene moiety in the same plane as the rest of the molecule) moderated the dependence on solvent polarity so that the dye exhibited significant emission, even in THF. To investigate at what stage the symmetry breaking occurs, we measured two‐photon absorption (2PA) spectra and 2PA cross‐sections (σ2PA) for all six compounds. The 2PA transition profile of the dipolar pyrrolo[3,2‐b ]pyrrole, followed the corresponding one‐photon absorption (1PA) spectrum, which provided an estimate of the change of the permanent electric dipole upon transition, ≈18 D. The nominally symmetric compounds displayed an allowed 2PA transition in the wavelength range of 700–900 nm. The expansion via a triple bond resulted in the largest peak value, σ2PA=770 GM, whereas altering the dihedral angle had no effect other than reducing the peak value two‐ or even three‐fold. In the S 0S 1 transition region, the symmetric structures also showed a partial overlap between 2PA and 1PA transitions in the long‐wavelength wing of the band, from which a tentative, relatively small dipole moment change, 2–7 D, was deduced, thus suggesting that some small symmetry breaking may be possible in the ground state, even before major symmetry breaking occurs in the excited state.  相似文献

A systematic study of carbo‐butadiene motifs not embedded in an aromatic carbo‐benzene ring is described. Dibutatrienylacetylene (DBA) targets R1?C(R)?C?C?C(Ph)?C≡C?C(Ph)?C?C?C(R)?R2 are devised, in which R is C≡CSiiPr3 and R1 and R2 are R, H, or 4‐X‐C6H4, with the latter including three known representatives (X: H, NMe2, or NH2). The synthesis method is based on the SnCl2‐mediated reduction of pentaynediols prepared by early or late divergent strategies; the latter allows access to a OMe–NO2 push–pull diaryl‐DBA. If R1 and R2 are H, an over‐reduced dialkynylbutatriene (DAB) with two allenyl caps was isolated instead of the unsubstituted DBA. If R1=R2=R, the tetraalkynyl‐DBA target was obtained, along with an over‐reduced DBA product with a 12‐membered 1,2‐alkylidene‐1H2,2H2carbo‐cyclobutadiene ring. X‐ray crystallography shows that all of the acyclic DBAs adopt a planar transtransoidtrans configuration. The maximum UV/Vis absorption wavelength is found to vary consistently with the overall π‐conjugation extent and, more intriguingly, with the π‐donor character of the aryl X substituents, which varies consistently with the first (reversible) reduction potential and first (irreversible) oxidation peak, as determined by voltammetry.  相似文献

A p‐quinodimethane (p‐QDM)‐bridged porphyrin dimer 1 has been prepared for the first time. An unexpected Michael addition reaction took place when we attempted to synthesize compound 1 by reaction of the cross‐conjugated keto‐linked porphyrin dimers 8 a and 8 b with alkynyl/aryl Grignard reagents. Alternatively, compound 1 could be successfully prepared by intramolecular Friedel–Crafts alkylation of the diol‐linked porphyrin dimer 14 with concomitant oxidation in air. Compound 1 shows intense one‐photon absorption (OPA, λmax=955 nm, ε=45400 M ?1 cm?1) and a large two‐photon absorption (TPA) cross‐section (σ(2)max=2080 GM at 1800 nm) in the near‐infrared (NIR) region due to its extended π‐conjugation and quinoidal character. It also exhibits a short singlet excited‐state lifetime of 25 ps. The cyclic voltammogram of 1 displays multiple redox waves with a small electrochemical energy gap of 0.86 eV. The ground‐state geometry, electronic structure, and optical properties of 1 have been further studied by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and compared with those of the keto‐linked dimer 8 b . This research has revealed that incorporation of a p‐QDM unit into the porphyrin framework had a significant impact on its optical and electronic properties, leading to a novel NIR OPA and TPA chromophore.  相似文献

E,E-1,4-Bis(4'-N,N-diphenylaminostyryl)-2,5-dimethoxybenzene (DPAMOB) has been synthesized by a simple and effective solid phase Wittig reaction and characterized by 1^H NMR spectra and elemental analysis, Linear absorption, single-photon induced fluorescence and two-photon induced fluorescence spectra were experimentally studied. The new dye has a large two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-section of σr= 1007,2 GM [1 GM= 1 × 10^-50 cm^4·s/(photon molecule)] at 800 nm measured by the two-photon induced fluorescence method. The experimental results confirm that DPAMOB is a good TPA chromophore and can successfully initiate two-photon photopolymerization of ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate esters (SR454). Finally, a microstructure has been fabricated by use of DPAMOB as initiator.  相似文献

Azo‐containing materials have been proven to possess second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, but their third‐order NLO properties, which involves two‐photon absorption (2PA), has rarely been reported. In this study, we demonstrate a significant 2PA behavior of the novel azo chromophore incorporated with bilateral diphenylaminofluorenes (DPAFs) as a π framework. The electron‐donating DPAF moieties cause a redshifted π–π* absorption band centered at 470 nm, thus allowing efficient blue‐light‐induced trans‐to‐cis photoisomerization with a rate constant of 2.04×10?1 min?1 at the photostationary state (PSS). The open‐aperture Z‐scan technique that adopted a femtosecond (fs) pulse laser as excitation source shows an appreciably higher 2PA cross‐section for the fluorene‐derived azo chromophore than that for common azobenzene dyes at near‐infrared wavelength (λex=800 nm). Furthermore, the fs 2PA response is quite uniform regardless of the molecular geometry. On the basis of the computational modeling, the intramolecular charge‐transfer (ICT) process from peripheral diphenylamines to the central azo group through a fluorene π bridge is crucial to this remarkable 2PA behavior.  相似文献

Aminonaphthalimide–BODIPY energy transfer cassettes were found to show very fast (kEET≈1010–1011 s?1) and efficient BODIPY fluorescence sensitization. This was observed upon one‐ and two‐photon excitation, which extends the application range of the investigated bichromophoric dyads in terms of accessible excitation wavelengths. In comparison with the direct excitation of the BODIPY chromophore, the two‐photon absorption cross‐section δ of the dyads is significantly incremented by the presence of the aminonaphthalimide donor [δ≈10 GM for the BODIPY versus 19–26 GM in the dyad at λexc=840 nm; 1 GM (Goeppert–Mayer unit)=10?50 cm4 s molecule?1 photon?1]. The electronic decoupling of the donor and acceptor, which is a precondition for the energy transfer cassette concept, was demonstrated by time‐dependent density functional theory calculations. The applicability of the new probes in the one‐ and two‐photon excitation mode was demonstrated in a proof‐of‐principle approach in the fluorescence imaging of HeLa cells. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of the merging of multiphoton excitation with the energy transfer cassette concept for a BODIPY‐containing dyad.  相似文献

Five new multi‐branched two‐photon absorption triazine chromophores ( T1 – T5 ) with different donor strength, conjugation length, and direction of charge transfer have been designed and synthesized. The one‐photon fluorescence, fluorescence quantum yields, and two‐photon properties have been investigated. The two‐photon absorption (2PA) cross sections measured by the open aperture Z‐scan technique were determined to be 447, 854, 1023, 603, and 766 GM for T1 , T2 , T3 , T4 , and T5 , respectively. This result indicates that their 2PA cross section values (σ) increase with increasing electron‐donating strength of the end group, extending the conjugation length of the system, and introducing electron‐withdrawing perfluoroalkyl as side groups to the end donor. In addition, the σ value of T5 is also larger than that of T1 , which provides evidence that the σ value is relative to the direction of charge transfer (from the ends to the center of the molecule or from the center to the ends). Moreover, significant enhancement of the two‐photon absorption cross section was achieved by introducing a thiophene moiety to a conjugated CC bond. At the same time, the optical limiting behavior for these chromophores was studied by using a focused 800 nm laser beam with pulses of 140 fs duration. It was found that these molecules also exhibit good optical limiting properties. These initial results clearly demonstrate that multi‐branched triazine chromophores are a highly suitable class of two‐photon absorbing materials.  相似文献

A highly K+‐selective two‐photon fluorescent probe for the in vitro monitoring of physiological K+ levels in the range of 1–100 mM is reported. The two‐photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) probe shows a fluorescence enhancement (FE) by a factor of about three in the presence of 160 mM K+, independently of one‐photon (OP, 430 nm) or two‐photon (TP, 860 nm) excitation and comparable K+‐induced FEs in the presence of competitive Na+ ions. The estimated dissociation constant (Kd) values in Na+‐free solutions (KdOP=(28±5) mM and KdTP=(36±6) mM ) and in combined K+/Na+ solutions (KdOP=(38±8) mM and KdTP=(46±25) mM ) reflecting the high K+/Na+ selectivity of the fluorescent probe. The TP absorption cross‐section (σ2PA) of the TPEF probe+160 mM K+ is 26 GM at 860 nm. Therefore, the TPEF probe is a suitable tool for the in vitro determination of K+.  相似文献

Lipophilic fluorophores are widely implemented in nonlinear microscopy; however, few existing membrane-specific probes combine the high brightness of two-photon excited fluorescence (2PEF) with pH sensitivity. Herein we describe four novel two-photon excited fluorophores, based on a coumarin 151 core structure, where lipophilicity is induced by a covalently attached phosphazene moiety. Changing the environmental acidity using trifluoromethanesulfonic (triflic) acid leads to profound changes in the linear fluorescence and 2PEF characteristics, due to chromophores’ switching between neutral- and protonated forms. We characterize this dependence by measuring the two-photon absorption (2PA) spectra over the region λ2PA=550–1000 nm, observing 2PA cross sections of σ2PA=10–20 GM, with an associated 2PEF brightness of 10–13 GM, in neutral solutions of both acetonitrile and n-octanol. Although quantum chemical modelling and NMR measurements show that, at high chromophore concentrations, protonation may be accompanied by a dimerization process, these dimers likely do not form at the lower concentrations used in optical spectroscopy.  相似文献

The synthesis, one‐ and two‐photon absorption (TPA) and emission properties of two novel 2,6‐anthracenevinylene‐based copolymers, poly[9,10‐bis(3,4‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy)phenyl)‐2,6‐anthracenevinylene‐alt‐N‐octyl‐3,6‐carbazolevinyl‐ene] ( P1 ) and poly[9,10‐bis(3,4‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy)phenyl)‐2,6‐anthracenevinyl‐ene‐alt‐N‐octyl‐2,7‐carbazolevinylene] ( P2 ) were reported. The as‐synthesized polymers have the number‐average molecular weights of 1.56 × 104 for P1 and 1.85 × 104 g mol?1 for P2 and are readily soluble in common organic solvents. They emit strong bluish‐green one‐ and two‐photon excitation fluorescence in dilute toluene solution (? P1 = 0.85, ? P2 = 0.78, λem( P1 ) = 491 nm, λem( P2 ) = 483 nm). The maximal TPA cross‐sections of P1 and P2 measured by the two‐photon‐induced fluorescence method using femtosecond laser pulses in toluene are 840 and 490 GM per repeating unit, respectively, which are obviously larger than that (210 GM) of poly[9,10‐bis‐(3,4‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy) phenyl)‐2,6‐anthracenevinylene], indicating that the poly(2,6‐anthracenevinylene) derivatives with large TPA cross‐sections can be obtained by inserting electron‐donating moieties into the polymer backbone. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Caged rhodamine dyes (Rhodamines NN) of five basic colors were synthesized and used as “hidden” markers in subdiffractional and conventional light microscopy. These masked fluorophores with a 2‐diazo‐1‐indanone group can be irreversibly photoactivated, either by irradiation with UV‐ or violet light (one‐photon process), or by exposure to intense red light (λ~750 nm; two‐photon mode). All dyes possess a very small 2‐diazoketone caging group incorporated into the 2‐diazo‐1‐indanone residue with a quaternary carbon atom (C‐3) and a spiro‐9H‐xanthene fragment. Initially they are non‐colored (pale yellow), non‐fluorescent, and absorb at λ=330–350 nm (molar extinction coefficient (ε)≈104 M?1 cm?1) with a band edge that extends to about λ=440 nm. The absorption and emission bands of the uncaged derivatives are tunable over a wide range (λ=511–633 and 525–653 nm, respectively). The unmasked dyes are highly colored and fluorescent (ε= 3–8×104 M?1 cm?1 and fluorescence quantum yields (?)=40–85 % in the unbound state and in methanol). By stepwise and orthogonal protection of carboxylic and sulfonic acid groups a highly water‐soluble caged red‐emitting dye with two sulfonic acid residues was prepared. Rhodamines NN were decorated with amino‐reactive N‐hydroxysuccinimidyl ester groups, applied in aqueous buffers, easily conjugated with proteins, and readily photoactivated (uncaged) with λ=375–420 nm light or intense red light (λ=775 nm). Protein conjugates with optimal degrees of labeling (3–6) were prepared and uncaged with λ=405 nm light in aqueous buffer solutions (?=20–38 %). The photochemical cleavage of the masking group generates only molecular nitrogen. Some 10–40 % of the non‐fluorescent (dark) byproducts are also formed. However, they have low absorbance and do not quench the fluorescence of the uncaged dyes. Photoactivation of the individual molecules of Rhodamines NN (e.g., due to reversible or irreversible transition to a “dark” non‐emitting state or photobleaching) provides multicolor images with subdiffractional optical resolution. The applicability of these novel caged fluorophores in super‐resolution optical microscopy is exemplified.  相似文献

A diradical approach to obtain stable organic dyes with intense absorption around λ=1100 nm is reported. The para‐ and meta‐quinodimethane‐bridged BODIPY dimers BD‐1 and BD‐2 were synthesized and were found to have a small amount of diradical character. These molecules exhibited very intense absorption at λ=1088 nm (?=6.65×105 M ?1 cm?1) and 1136 nm (?=6.44×105 M ?1 cm?1), respectively, together with large two‐photon‐absorption cross‐sections. Structural isomerization induced little variation in their diradical character but distinctive differences in their physical properties. Moreover, the compounds showed a selective fluorescence turn‐on response in the presence of the hydroxyl radical but not with other reactive oxygen species.  相似文献

A platinum complex with the 6‐(7‐benzothiazol‐2′‐yl‐9,9‐diethyl‐9H‐fluoren‐2‐yl)‐2,2′‐bipyridinyl ligand ( 1 ) was synthesized and the crystal structure was determined. UV/Vis absorption, emission, and transient difference absorption of 1 were systematically investigated. DFT calculations were carried out on 1 to characterize the electronic ground state and aid in the understanding of the nature of low‐lying excited electronic states. Complex 1 exhibits intense structured 1π–π* absorption at λabs<440 nm, and a broad, moderate 1M LCT/1LLCT transition at 440–520 nm in CH2Cl2 solution. A structured 3ππ*/3M LCT emission at about 590 nm was observed at room temperature and at 77 K. Complex 1 exhibits both singlet and triplet excited‐state absorption from 450 nm to 750 nm, which are tentatively attributed to the 1π–π* and 3π–π* excited states of the 6‐(7‐benzothiazol‐2′‐yl‐9,9‐diethyl‐9H‐fluoren‐2‐yl)‐2,2′‐bipyridine ligand, respectively. Z‐scan experiments were conducted by using ns and ps pulses at 532 nm, and ps pulses at a variety of visible and near‐IR wavelengths. The experimental data were fitted by a five‐level model by using the excited‐state parameters obtained from the photophysical study to deduce the effective singlet and triplet excited‐state absorption cross sections in the visible spectral region and the effective two‐photon absorption cross sections in the near‐IR region. Our results demonstrate that 1 possesses large ratios of excited‐state absorption cross sections relative to that of the ground‐state in the visible spectral region; this results in a remarkable degree of reverse saturable absorption from 1 in CH2Cl2 solution illuminated by ns laser pulses at 532 nm. The two‐photon absorption cross sections in the near‐IR region for 1 are among the largest values reported for platinum complexes. Therefore, 1 is an excellent, broadband, nonlinear absorbing material that exhibits strong reverse saturable absorption in the visible spectral region and large two‐photon‐assisted excited‐state absorption in the near‐IR region.  相似文献

As a novel ultraviolet (UV) absorbent with excellent performance in UVA section (320 ~ 400 nm), 2‐{2‐hydroxy‐4‐[(octyloxycarbonyl)ethylideneoxy]phenyl}‐4,6‐Bis(4‐biphenylyl)‐1,3,5‐triazine (CGL‐479) was synthesized in a simple method with a total yield of 45.3% in four steps. Its outstanding UV absorption capability (λmax = 326 nm, εmax = 4.15 × 104 L?mol?1?cm?1), high thermostability [T5 (the temperature of losing 5% in weight) = 385 °C], and compatibility with polymer materials make it a potential substitute of the traditional UV absorbents.  相似文献

The complexes [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1R}]+ (n=1: R=alkyl and aryl (Ar); n=1–3: R=phenyl (Ph) or Ph‐N(CH3)2‐4; n=1 and 2, R=Ph‐NH2‐4; tBu3tpy=4,4’,4’’‐tri‐tert‐butyl‐2,2’:6’,2’’‐terpyridine) and [Pt(Cl3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R=tert‐butyl (tBu), Ph, 9,9’‐dibutylfluorene, 9,9’‐dibutyl‐7‐dimethyl‐amine‐fluorene; Cl3tpy=4,4’,4’’‐trichloro‐2,2’:6’,2’’‐terpyridine) were prepared. The effects of substituent(s) on the terpyridine (tpy) and acetylide ligands and chain length of arylacetylide ligands on the absorption and emission spectra were examined. Resonance Raman (RR) spectra of [Pt(tBu3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R=n‐butyl, Ph, and C6H4‐OCH3‐4) obtained in acetonitrile at 298 K reveal that the structural distortion of the C?C bond in the electronic excited state obtained by 502.9 nm excitation is substantially larger than that obtained by 416 nm excitation. Density functional theory (DFT) and time‐dependent DFT (TDDFT) calculations on [Pt(H3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (R= n‐propyl (nPr), 2‐pyridyl (Py)), [Pt(H3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1Ph}]+ (n=1–3), and [Pt(H3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+/+H+ (n=1–3; H3tpy=nonsubstituted terpyridine) at two different conformations were performed, namely, with the phenyl rings of the arylacetylide ligands coplanar (“cop”) with and perpendicular (“per”) to the H3tpy ligand. Combining the experimental data and calculated results, the two lowest energy absorption peak maxima, λ1 and λ2, of [Pt(Y3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (Y=tBu or Cl, R=aryl) are attributed to 1[π(C?CR)→π*(Y3tpy)] in the “cop” conformation and mixed 1[dπ(Pt)→π*(Y3tpy)]/1[π(C?CR)→π*(Y3tpy)] transitions in the “per” conformation. The lowest energy absorption peak λ1 for [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐H‐4}]+ (n=1–3) shows a redshift with increasing chain length. However, for [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+ (n=1–3), λ1 shows a blueshift with increasing chain length n, but shows a redshift after the addition of acid. The emissions of [Pt(Y3tpy)(C?CR)]+ (Y=tBu or Cl) at 524–642 nm measured in dichloromethane at 298 K are assigned to the 3[π(C?CAr)→π*(Y3tpy)] excited states and mixed 3[dπ(Pt)→π*(Y3tpy)]/3[π(C?C)→π*(Y3tpy)] excited states for R=aryl and alkyl groups, respectively. [Pt(tBu3tpy){C?C(C6H4C?C)n?1C6H4‐N(CH3)2‐4}]+ (n=1 and 2) are nonemissive, and this is attributed to the small energy gap between the singlet ground state (S0) and the lowest triplet excited state (T1).  相似文献

Isoprene polymerization and copolymerization with ethylene can be carried out by using cationic half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium catalysts in situ generated from half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium dialkyl complexes Flu'Sc(CH2SiMe3)2(THF)n, activator, and AliBu3 under mild conditions. In the isoprene polymerization, all of these cationic half‐sandwich fluorenyl scandium catalysts exhibit high activities (up to 1.89 × 107 g/molSc h) and mainly cis?1,4 selectivities (up to 93%) under similar conditions. In contrast, these catalysts showed different activities and regio‐/stereoselectivities being significantly dependent on the substituents of the fluorenyl ligands in the copolymerization of isoprene with ethylene under an atmosphere of ethylene (1 atm) at room temperature, affording the random copolymers with a wide range of cis?1,4‐isoprene contents (IP content: 64 ? 97%, cis?1,4‐IP units: 65 ? 79%) or almost alternating copolymers containing mainly 3,4‐IP‐alt‐E or/and cis?1,4‐IP‐alt‐E sequences. Moreover, novel high performance polymers have been prepared via selective epoxidation of the vinyl groups of the 1,4‐isoprene units in the IP‐E copolymers. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Mesoporous silica synthesized from the cocondensation of tetraethoxysilane and silylated carbon dots containing an amide group has been adopted as the carrier for the in situ growth of TiO2 through an impregnation–hydrothermal crystallization process. Benefitting from initial complexation between the titania precursor and carbon dot, highly dispersed anatase TiO2 nanoparticles can be formed inside the mesoporous channel. The hybrid material possesses an ordered hexagonal mesostructure with p6mm symmetry, a high specific surface area (446.27 m2 g?1), large pore volume (0.57 cm3 g?1), uniform pore size (5.11 nm), and a wide absorption band between λ=300 and 550 nm. TiO2 nanocrystals are anchored to the carbon dot through Ti?O?N and Ti?O?C bonds, as revealed by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Moreover, the nitrogen doping of TiO2 is also verified by the formation of the Ti?N bond. This composite shows excellent adsorption capabilities for 2,4‐dichlorophenol and acid orange 7, with an electron‐deficient aromatic ring, through electron donor–acceptor interactions between the carbon dot and organic compounds instead of the hydrophobic effect, as analyzed by the contact angle analysis. The composite can be photocatalytically recycled through visible‐light irradiation after adsorption. The narrowed band gap, as a result of nitrogen doping, and the photosensitization effect of carbon dots are revealed to be coresponsible for the visible‐light activity of TiO2. The adsorption capacity does not suffer any clear losses after being recycled three times.  相似文献

The steady‐state photophysical, NMR, and two‐photon absorption (2PA) properties of a new fluorene derivative ( 1 ) containing the 2‐(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole (HBT) terminal construct is investigated for use as a fluorescence probe in bioimaging. A comprehensive analysis of the linear spectral properties reveals inter‐ and intramolecular hydrogen bonding and excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) processes in the HBT substituent. A specific electronic model with a double minimum potential energy surface is consistent with the observed spectral properties. The 2PA spectra are obtained using a standard two‐photon induced fluorescence method with a femtosecond kHz laser system, affording a maximum 2PA cross section of ~600 GM, a sufficiently high value for two‐photon fluorescence imaging. No dependence of two‐photon absorption efficiency on solvent properties and hydrogen bonding in the HBT substituent is observed. The potential use of this fluorenyl probe in bioimaging is demonstrated via one‐ and two‐photon fluorescence imaging of COS‐7 cells.  相似文献
