The reaction of hexacyanobutadiene (HCBD) and meso-tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)porphinatomanganese(II) pyridine [MnIITClPPpy] (1Cl) leads to two phases of [MnIIITClPPpy][HCBD].PhMe (alpha-2Clpy, beta-2Clpy). Similarly, the reaction of HCBD and tetrakis(4-bromophenyl)porphinatomanganese(II) pyridine [MnIITBrPPpy] (1Br) leads to two products [MnIIITBrPPpy] [HCBD] * PhMe (2 Brpy) and [MnIIITBrPP][HCBD]*2 PhMe (3Br). The structure of dark-green alpha-2Clpy consists of one porphyrin unit with MnIII in a square pyramidal coordination environment axially bound to one pyridine. The cation forms [MnIIITCIPPpy](2)2+ as cofacial dimerized porphyrins. Each [HCBD]*- is nonplanar with a torsion angle of 170.8(4) degrees about the center C-C bound, and forms [HCBD](2)2- dimers in the solid state with sub-van der Waals contacts of 3.325 and 3.340 angstroms. The magnetic data above 10 K obey the Curie-Weiss expression with a theta of -2.5 K, and mueff (300 K) = 4.91 muB as expected for S=2MnIII and S = 0 [HCBD](2)2-. The magnetic data for alpha-2Clpy can be fit with an zero-field-splitting D of -1.45 K. beta-2 Clpy consists of one porphyrin unit with MnIII in a distorted octahedral coordination environment axially bound to py and to a monodentate [HCBD]*- bound via an exo-nitrile. [HCBD]*- is nonplanar with a torsion angle of 169.7(5) degrees about the center C-C bound. The ueff (350 K) is 5.09 muB; however, the magnetic data do not obey the Curie-Weiss expression above 70 K. The low temperature data may be fit with a theta of -5.4 K. The data was modeled to an isolated S = 2 and S = 1/2 dinuclear spin system with J/kappaB = - 90 K. Decomposition of [HCBD]*- to [C4(CN)5O]- was evidenced by the determination of the structure of [MnIIITCIPP][C4(CN)5O] 2PhMe (3ClO). Crystals of 3 Cl-O were prepared by reaction of HCBD and 1Cl in the presence of a drop of water. The molecular structure consists of [HCBD]*-trans-mu-N-2,3-bound to [MnIIITBrPP]+ forming a 1-D coordination polymer of alternating [MnIIITBrPP]+ and [HCBD]*-. The intrachain Mn***Mn distance was 10.675(3) angstroms, with important interchain Mn***Mn distances of 10.832, 11.016, and 14.696 A. The magnetic data were fit to a Curie-Weiss law (10 < T< 290 K) with a theta of -3.5 K, and D = 0.3 K with mueff = 4.97 muB at 300 K.  相似文献

Cu(PPh3)3(TCNE) (TCNE = tetracyanoethylene) and 14 other examples form [TCNE]22- dimers possessing a long 2.89 +/- 0.05 A two-electron four-center (2e-/4c) C-C bond in the solid state. This bond arises from the overlap of the b2g pi* singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) on each [TCNE]*- fragment, forming a filled bonding orbital of b2u symmetry, and the stabilizing effect of the cation...anion interactions in the crystal that exceed the anionic repulsion. In contrast, Mn(C5H5)(CO)2(TCNE) exhibits a related, but different, [TCNE]*-...TCNE]*- motif in the solid state that lacks the 2e-/4c C-C bonding. To better understand the unusual nature of 2e-/4c C-C bonding, the genesis of the differences between their respective pi-[TCNE]*-...TCNE]*- interactions was sought. The lack of 2e-/4c C-C bond formation is attributed to the weaker radical character of the [TCNE]*- ligand, which has a total spin population of only 0.5 electron, half of that required for two S = 1/2 [TCNE]*- moieties to form a [TCNE]22- dimer. Hence, the antiferromagnetic MnII-[TCNE]*- intramolecular interaction (between the formally S = 1/2 Mn-bound [TCNE]*- and the paramagnetic Mn(II)) dominates over the intermolecular pi-[TCNE]*--[TCNE]*- spin coupling (between two S = 1/2 [TCNE]*- needed to form [TCNE]22-). Therefore, by selecting specific metal ions that can interact with sigma-[TCNE]*-, dimerization forming [TCNE]22- can be favored or disfavored.  相似文献

The reaction of Fe(II)(C5Me5)(C5H5), FeCpCp, with percyano acceptors, A [A = C4(CN)6 (hexacyanobutadiene), TCNQF4 (perfluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane), and DDQ (2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone)], results in formation of 1:1 charge-transfer salts of [Fe(III)CpCp]*]*+[A]*- composition. With A = TCNQ (7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane) a 1:2 electron-transfer salt with FeCpCp forms. With A = TCNE (tetracyanoethylene) a pair of 1:1 salts as well as a pair of 2:3 salts of [FeCpCp]2[TCNE]3.S (S = CH2Cl2, THF) have been isolated and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. [FeCpCp][TCNE] consists of parallel 1-D.D(*+)A(*-)D(*+)A(*-)D(*+)A(*-). chains, while [FeCpCp][TCNE].MeCN has a herringbone array of D(*+)A2(2-)D(*+) dimers separated by solvent molecules. Although each [TCNE](-) is disordered, the diamagnetic [TCNE]2(2-) dimer is structurally different from those observed earlier with an intradimer separation of 2.79 A. The [TCNE](-) in the 2:3 [FeCpCp]2[TCNE]3.S exists as an eclipsed diamagnetic [TCNE]2(2-) dimer with an intradimer ethylene C.C separation of 2.833 and 2.903 A for the CH2Cl2- and THF-containing materials, respectively. The bond distances and angles for all the cations are essentially equivalent, and the distances are essentially equivalent to those previously reported for [FeCp2](*+) and [FeCp2](*+) cations. The average Fe-C5H5-ring and Fe-C5Me5-ring centroid distances are 1.71 and 1.69 A, respectively, which are 0.05 A longer than reported for Fe(II)CpCp. The one-electron reduction potential for Fe(II)CpCp is 0.11 V (vs SCE). The 5 K EPR of [FeCpCp](*+)[BF4](-) exhibits an axially symmetric powder pattern with g(parallel) = 4.36 and g(perpendicular) = 1.24, and the EPR parameters are essentially identical to those reported for ferrocenium and decamethylferrocenium. The high-temperature magnetic susceptibility for polycrystalline samples of these complexes can be fit by the Curie-Weiss law, chi = C/(T - theta), with low theta values and mu(eff) values from 2.08 to 3.43 mu(B), suggesting that the polycrystalline samples measured had varying degrees of orientation. [FeCpCp][TCNE] exhibits the highest effective moment of 3.43 mu(B)/Fe and weak ferromagnetic coupling, as evidenced from the theta of 3.3 K; however, unexpectedly, it does not magnetically order above 2 K. The formation of the four phases comprising FeCpCp and TCNE emphasizes the diversity of materials that may form and the present inability to predict neither solid-state compositions nor structure types.  相似文献

The development of molecules and assemblies of molecules exhibiting technologically important bulk properties, such as magnetic ordering, is an important worldwide research focus. Organic- and molecule-based magnets have been discovered and several families have been reported with magnetic ordering temperatures exceeding room temperature and as high as approximately 125 degrees C. Examples of both hard and soft magnets have been reported with coercivities as high at 27 000 Oe (and exceeding commercially available magnets) have been reported. Several examples are based on the radical anion of tetracyanoethylene, S = 1/2 [TCNE].-. The include ionic zero-dimensional (0-D) [FeCp*2]*+[TCNE]*- (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienide), 1-D [MnTPP]+[TCNE]*- [TPP = meso-tetraphenylporphinato] coordination polymers, and 3-D extended network structured M[TCNE](x).ySolvent (M = V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Dy). This Perspective focuses on work in our laboratory that will be discussed at the Dalton Discussion 9 meeting entitled "Functional Molecular Assemblies." In addition to the overview of TCNE-based organic magnets, the targeted design, preparation, and chemical as well as magnetic characterization of a new family of magnets based on S = 3/2 mixed-valent [Ru(II/III)2(O2CR)4]+ (R = Me, Bu(t)) is described. In particular [Ru2(O2CMe)4]3[Cr(CN)6] prepared from aqueous media possess two interpenetrating cubic lattices and magnetically orders at 33 K. In contrast, [Ru2(O2CBu(t))4]3[Cr(CN)6] forms a 2-D layered lattice and orders at 37.5 K. Both exhibit hysteretic behavior, however, this is quite anomalous for the former cubic lattice. This as well as other anomalous magnetic behaviors is attributed to the presence of the second interpenetrating lattice.  相似文献

The redox properties of MCl2 (M=Mn, Fe, Co) acetonitrile solvates were electrochemically and spectroscopically characterized. The three voltammogram waves at 0.86, 0.48, and 0.21 V versus SCE for FeCl(2) dissolved in MeCN are assigned as one-electron reduction potentials for [Fe(II)Cl(x)(NCMe)4-x]2-x (1相似文献

Chemical reduction of 2,4,6-tricyano-1,3,5-triazine, TCT, results in the formation of an unstable radical anion that undergoes immediate dimerization at a ring carbon to form [C(12)N(12)](2-), [TCT](2)(2-), characterized by a long 1.570 (4) A central C[bond]C. [TCT](2)(2-) can decompose into the radical anion of 4,4',6,6'-tetracyano-2,2'-bitriazine, [TCBT]*-, the one-electron reduced form of planar (D(2h)) TCBT, which is also structurally characterized as the [TMPD][TCBT] charge-transfer complex (TMPD = N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine) with a 1.492 (2) A central sp(2)[bond]sp(2) C[bond]C. Although crystals could not be obtained for the radical anion [TCBT]*-, the electrochemistry (E degrees = +0.03 V), EPR (g = 2.003, (2)A((14)N) = 3.347 G, and (4)A((14)N) = 0.765 G and a line width of 0.24 G), and theoretical calculations support the formation of [TCBT]*-. In addition, thermolysis of [TCT](2)(2-) yields [TCBT]*-. Chemical reduction of 2,4,6-tricyanobenzene, TCB, forms an unstable radical anion that immediately undergoes dimerization at a ring carbon to form [C(12)H(6)N(6)](2-), [TCB](2)(2-), which has a long 1.560 (5) A central C[bond]C. Reaction of TCT with tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) forms structurally characterized [TTF][TCT], and in the presence of water, TCT hydrolyzes to 2,4-dicyano-6-hydroxy-s-triazine, DCTOH. In contrast, the reaction of TCT with TMPD forms [TMPD][TCT], which in the presence of water forms structurally characterized [HTMPD](+)[DCTO](-).  相似文献

The 2,2,2-crypt salts of the Tl4Se8(4-) and [Tl2Se4(2-)]infinity1 anions have been obtained by extraction of the ternary alloy NaTl0.5Se in ethylenediamine (en) in the presence of 2,2,2-crypt and 18-crown-6 followed by vapor-phase diffusion of THF into the en extract. The [2,2,2-crypt-Na]4[Tl4Se8].en crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, with Z = 2 and a = 14.768(3) angstroms, b = 16.635(3) angstroms, c = 21.254(4) angstroms, beta = 94.17(3) degrees at -123 degrees C, and the [2,2,2-crypt-Na]2[Tl2Se4]infinity1.en crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, with Z = 4 and a = 14.246(2) angstroms, b = 14.360(3) angstroms, c = 26.673(8) angstroms, beta = 99.87(3) degrees at -123 degrees C. The TlIII anions, Tl2Se6(6-) and Tl3Se7(5-), and the mixed oxidation state TlI/TlIII anion, Tl3Se6(5-), have been obtained by extraction of NaTl0.5Se and NaTlSe in en, in the presence of 2,2,2-crypt and/or in liquid NH3, and have been characterized in solution by low-temperature 77Se, 203Tl, and 205Tl NMR spectroscopy. The 1J(203,205Tl-77Se) and 2J(203,205Tl-203,205Tl) couplings of the three anions have been used to arrive at their solution structures by detailed analyses and simulations of all spin multiplets that comprise the 205,203Tl NMR subspectra arising from natural abundance 205,203Tl and 77Se isotopomer distributions. The structure of Tl2Se6(6-) is based on a Tl2Se2 ring in which each thallium is bonded to two exo-selenium atoms so that these thalliums are four-coordinate and possess a formal oxidation state of +3. The Tl4Se8(4-) anion is formally derived from the Tl2Se6(6-) anion by coordination of each pair of terminal Se atoms to the TlIII atom of a TlSe+ cation. The structure of the [Tl2Se4(2-)]infinity1 anion is comprised of edge-sharing distorted TlSe4 tetrahedra that form infinite, one-dimensional [Tl2Se42-]infinity1 chains. The structures of Tl3Se6(5-) and Tl3Se7(5-) are derived from Tl4Se4-cubes in which one thallium atom has been removed and two and three exo-selenium atoms are bonded to thallium atoms, respectively, so that each is four-coordinate and possesses a formal oxidation state of +3 with the remaining three-coordinate thallium atom in the +1 oxidation state. Quantum mechanical calculations at the MP2 level of theory show that the Tl2Se6(6-), Tl3Se6(5-), Tl3Se7(5-), and Tl4Se8(4-) anions exhibit true minima and display geometries that are in agreement with their experimental structures. Natural bond orbital and electron localization function analyses were utilized in describing the bonding in the present and previously published Tl/Se anions, and showed that the Tl2Se6(6-), Tl3Se6(5-), Tl3Se7(5-), and Tl4Se8(4-) anions are electron-precise rings and cages.  相似文献

The reaction of [AuTl(C(6)Cl(5))(2)](n) with bipy at different molar ratios, solvents or crystallisation conditions affords a series of two- and three-dimensional luminescent complexes, [AuTl(C(6)Cl(5))(2)(bipy)(0.5)](n), [AuTl(C(6)Cl(5))(2)(bipy)](n), [[Tl(bipy)][Tl(bipy)(0.5)(THF)][Au(C(6)Cl(5))(2)](2)](n), [[Tl(bipy)][Tl(bipy)(0.5)(THF)][Au(C(6)Cl(5))(2)](2)xTHF](n) and [[AuTl(C(6)Cl(5))(2)(bipy)]x0.5toluene](n)(bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine; THF = tetrahydrofuran) all of them containing polymeric chains formed via unsupported Au...Tl interactions and bridging bipyridine ligands.  相似文献

Structural, electrochemical, ESR, and H2O2 reactivity studies are reported for [Mn(dmptacn)Cl]ClO4 (1, dmptacn = 1,4-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane) and binuclear complexes of bis(pentadentate) ligands, generated by attaching 2-pyridylmethyl arms to each secondary nitrogen in bis(1,4,7-triazacyclononane) macrocycles and linked by ethyl (tmpdtne, [Mn2(tmpdtne)Cl2](ClO4)2.2DMF, 2), propyl (tmpdtnp, [Mn2(tmpdtnp)Cl2](ClO4)2.3H2O, 3), butyl (tmpdtnb, [Mn2(tmpdtnb)Cl2](ClO4)2.DMF.2H2O, 4), m-xylyl (tmpdtn-m-X, [Mn2(tmpdtn-m-X)-Cl2](ClO4)2, 5) and 2-propanol (tmpdtnp-OH, [Mn2(tmpdtnp-OH)Cl2](ClO4)2, 6) groups. 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) (No. 19) with a = 7.959(7) A, b = 12.30(1) A, and c = 21.72(2) A; 2, in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with a = 11.455(4) A, b = 15.037(6) A, c = 15.887(4) A, and beta = 96.48(2) degrees; 3, in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with a = 13.334(2) A, b = 19.926(2) A, c = 18.799(1) A, and beta = 104.328(8) degrees; and [Mn2(tmpdtnb)Cl2](ClO4)2.4DMF.3H2O (4'), in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n (No. 14) with a = 13.361(3) A, b = 16.807(5) A, c = 14.339(4) A, and beta = 111.14(2) degrees. Significant distortion of the Mn(II) geometry is evident from the angle subtended by the five-membered chelate (ca. 75 degrees) and the angles spanned by trans donor atoms (< 160 degrees). The Mn geometry is intermediate between octahedral and trigonal prismatic, and for complexes 2-4, there is a systematic increase in M...M distance with the length of the alkyl chain. Cyclic and square-wave voltammetric studies indicate that 1 undergoes a 1e- oxidation from Mn(II) to Mn(III) followed by a further oxidation to MnIV at a significantly more positive potential. The binuclear Mn(II) complexes 2-5 are oxidized to the Mn(III) state in two unresolved 1e- processes [MnII2-->MnIIMnIII-->MnIII2] and then to the MnIV state [MnIII2-->MnIIIMnIV-->MnIV2]. For 2, the second oxidation process was partially resolved into two 1e- oxidation processes under the conditions of square-wave voltammetry. In the case of 6, initial oxidation to the MnIII2 state occurs in two overlapping 1e- processes as was found for 2-5, but this complex then undergoes two further clearly separated 1e- oxidation processes to the MnIIIMnIV state at +0.89 V and the MnIV2 state at +1.33 V (vs Fc/Fc+). This behavior is attributed to formation of an alkoxo-bridged complex. Complexes 1-6 were found to catalyze the disproportionation of H2O2. Addition of H2O2 to 2 generated an oxo-bridged mixed-valent MnIIIMnIV intermediate with a characteristic 16-line ESR signal.  相似文献

[Fe(TCNE)(NCMe)2][FeCl4] is isolated from the reaction of TCNE and FeCl2(NCMe)2 and orders as a ferrimagnet below 90 K and is the initial member of a new class of magnets. It is the first metal-TCNE magnet with direct bonding between metal ion and [TCNE]*- whose structure has been determined, and it possesses a novel planar mu4-[TCNE]*- spin coupling unit bonded to four FeII's, with an axial pair of MeCNs. The [FeIIICl4]- anion occupies sites between the [FeII(TCNE*-)(NCMe)2]+ layers. [Fe(TCNE)(NCMe)2][FeCl4] has a coercive field of 1730 Oe and a remnant magnetization of 7500 emuK/mol at 50 K.  相似文献

The reaction of [Mn3O(O2CR)6(py)3](ClO4) (R = Me, Et) with methyl 2-pyridyl ketone oxime (mpkoH) in a 1:3 molar ratio in MeOH/MeCN leads to [Mn3O(O2CR)3(mpko)3](ClO4) in 80-90% isolated yield. Ferromagnetic exchange interactions between the three MnIII ions in the nonplanar [MnIII3O]7+ triangular core lead to a spin ground state of S = 6; single-crystal studies reveal the temperature and sweep rate dependent hysteresis loops expected for a single-molecule magnet.  相似文献

Controlled potential electrolysis (CPE) procedures are described that provide access to complexes with a [Mn4(mu 3-O)3(mu 3-O2CR)]6+ core (3MnIII,MnIV) and a trigonal pyramidal metal topology, starting from species containing the [Mn4(mu 3-O)2]8+ core (4MnIII). [Mn4O2(O2CMe)6(py)2(dbm)2] (6): triclinic, P1, a = 10.868(3) A, b = 13.864(3) A, c = 10.625(3) A, alpha = 108.62(1) degrees, beta = 118.98(1) degrees, gamma = 89.34(2) degrees, V = 1307 A3, Z = 1, T = -131 degrees C, R (Rw) = 3.24 (3.70)%. [Mn4O2(O2CPh)6(py)(dbm)2] (8): monoclinic, P2(1)/c, a = 14.743(6) A, b = 15.536(8) A, c = 30.006(13) A, beta = 102.79(1) degrees, V = 6702 A3, Z = 4, T = -155 degrees C, R (Rw) = 4.32 (4.44)%. Both 6 and 8 contain a [Mn4O2]8+ core; 8 only has one py group, the fourth MnIII site being five-coordinate. (NBun4)[Mn4O2(O2CPh)7(dbm)2] (10) is available from two related procedures. CPE of 10 at 0.65 V vs ferocene in MeCN leads to precipitation of [Mn4O3(O2CPh)4(dbm)3] (11); similarly, CPE of 6 at 0.84 V in MeCN/CH2Cl2 (3:1 v/v) gives [Mn4O3(O2CMe)4(dbm)3] (12). Complex 11: monoclinic, P2(1)/n, a = 15.161(3) A, b = 21.577(4) A, c = 22.683(5) A, beta = 108.04(3) degrees, V = 7056 A3, Z = 4, T = -100 degrees C, R (wR2) = 8.63 (21.80)%. Complex 12: monoclinic, P2(1)/n, a = 13.549(2) A, b = 22.338(4) A, c = 16.618(2) A, beta = 103.74(1) degrees, V = 4885 A3, Z = 4, T = -171 degrees C, R (Rw) = 4.63 (4.45)%. Both 11 and 12 contain a [Mn4(mu 3-O)3(mu-O2CR)] core with a Mn4 trigonal pyramid (MnIV at the apex) and the RCO2- bridging the MnIII3 base. However, in 11, the carboxylate is eta 2,mu 3 with one O atom terminal to one MnIII and the other O atom bridging the other two MnIII ions, whereas in 12 the carboxylate is eta 1,mu 3, a single O atom bridging three MnIII ions. Variable-temperature, solid-state magnetic susceptibility studies on 11 and 12 show that, for both complexes, there are antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between MnIII/MnIV pairs, and ferromagnetic interactions between MnIII/MnIII pairs. In both cases, the resultant ground states of the complex is S = 9/2, confirmed by magnetization vs field studies in the 2.00-30.0 K and 0.50-50 kG temperature and field ranges, respectively.  相似文献

The nucleophilic addition of amidoximes R'C(NH(2))═NOH [R' = Me (2.Me), Ph (2.Ph)] to coordinated nitriles in the platinum(II) complexes trans-[PtCl(2)(RCN)(2)] [R = Et (1t.Et), Ph (1t.Ph), NMe(2) (1t.NMe(2))] and cis-[PtCl(2)(RCN)(2)] [R = Et (1c.Et), Ph (1c.Ph), NMe(2) (1c.NMe(2))] proceeds in a 1:1 molar ratio and leads to the monoaddition products trans-[PtCl(RCN){HN═C(R)ONC(R')NH(2)}]Cl [R = NMe(2); R' = Me ([3a]Cl), Ph ([3b]Cl)], cis-[PtCl(2){HN═C(R)ONC(R')NH(2)}] [R = NMe(2); R' = Me (4a), Ph (4b)], and trans/cis-[PtCl(2)(RCN){HN═C(R)ONC(R')NH(2)}] [R = Et; R' = Me (5a, 6a), Ph (5b, 6b); R = Ph; R' = Me (5c, 6c), Ph (5d, 6d), correspondingly]. If the nucleophilic addition proceeds in a 2:1 molar ratio, the reaction gives the bisaddition species trans/cis-[Pt{HN═C(R)ONC(R')NH(2)}(2)]Cl(2) [R = NMe(2); R' = Me ([7a]Cl(2), [8a]Cl(2)), Ph ([7b]Cl(2), [8b]Cl(2))] and trans/cis-[PtCl(2){HN═C(R)ONC(R')NH(2)}(2)] [R = Et; R' = Me (10a), Ph (9b, 10b); R = Ph; R' = Me (9c, 10c), Ph (9d, 10d), respectively]. The reaction of 1 equiv of the corresponding amidoxime and each of [3a]Cl, [3b]Cl, 5b-5d, and 6a-6d leads to [7a]Cl(2), [7b]Cl(2), 9b-9d, and 10a-10d. Open-chain bisaddition species 9b-9d and 10a-10d were transformed to corresponding chelated bisaddition complexes [7d](2+)-[7f](2+) and [8c](2+)-[8f](2+) by the addition of 2 equiv AgNO(3). All of the complexes synthesized bear nitrogen-bound O-iminoacylated amidoxime groups. The obtained complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, high-resolution ESI-MS, IR, and (1)H NMR techniques, while 4a, 4b, 5b, 6d, [7b](Cl)(2), [7d](SO(3)CF(3))(2), [8b](Cl)(2), [8f](NO(3))(2), 9b, and 10b were also characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Molecular and ionic complexes of cis-2',5'-di(pyridin-3-yl)pyrrolidino[3',4':1,9](C(60)-I(h))[5,6]fullerene DP3FP with chlorobenzene (C(6)H(5)Cl), manganese(II) tetraphenylporphyrin (Mn(II)TPP) and tetrakis(dimethylamino)ethylene (TDAE) have been obtained for the first time. X-ray single crystal structure determination for the crystalline DP3FP·C(6)H(5)Cl (1) solvate proved unambiguously its molecular structure with the cis-arrangement of chelating 3-pyridyl groups. It has been demonstrated that DP3FP easily forms self-assembled photoactive complexes with metallated porphyrins. For example, the formation of a 1 : 1 complex between DP3FP and zinc (II) tetraphenylporphyrin (Zn(II)TPP) in cyclohexane solution (2) was evidenced using absorption spectroscopy. A successful X-ray single crystal structure determination was performed for a self-assembled triad composed of a DP3FP molecule linked with two Mn(II)TPP molecules in {DP3FP·(Mn(II)TPP)(2)}·(C(6)H(4)Cl(2))(3) (3). A strong organic donor TDAE reduces DP3FP to the radical anion state thus forming an ionic complex (TDAE˙(+))·(DP3FP˙(-))·(C(6)H(4)Cl(2))(1.6) (4). Optical, electronic and magnetic properties of 4 were investigated in detail. The reaction between oxide-centered, triangular [MnIII3O(O2CR)6(py)3](ClO4) (R = Me (1), Et (2), Ph (3)) compounds and methyl 2-pyridyl ketone oxime (mpkoH) affords a new family of Mn/carboxylato/oximato complexes, [MnIII3O(O2CR)3(mpko)3](ClO4) [R = Me (4), Et (5), and Ph (6)]. As in 1-3, the cations of 4-6 contain an [MnIII3(mu3-O)]7+ triangular core, but with each Mn2 edge now bridged by an eta1:eta1:mu-RCO2- and an eta1:eta1:eta1:mu-mpko- group. The tridentate binding mode of the latter causes a buckling of the formerly planar [MnIII3(mu3-O)]7+ core, resulting in a relative twisting of the three MnIII octahedra and the central O2- ion now lying approximately 0.3 A above the Mn3 plane. This structural distortion leads to ferromagnetic exchange interactions within the molecule and a resulting S = 6 ground state. Fits of dc magnetization data for 4-6 collected in the 1.8-10.0 K and 10-70 kG ranges confirmed S = 6 ground states, and gave the following D and g values: -0.34 cm(-1) and 1.92 for 4, -0.34 cm(-1) and 1.93 for 5, and -0.35 cm(-1) and 1.99 for 6, where D is the axial zero-field splitting (anisotropy) parameter. Complexes 4-6 all exhibit frequency-dependent out-of-phase (chi" M) ac susceptibility signals suggesting them possibly to be single-molecule magnets (SMMs). Relaxation rate vs T data for complex 4 down to 1.8 K obtained from the chi" M vs T studies were supplemented with rate vs T data measured to 0.04 K via magnetization vs time decay studies, and these were used to construct Arrhenius plots from which was obtained the effective barrier to relaxation (Ueff) of 10.9 K. Magnetization vs dc field sweeps on single-crystals of 4.3CH2Cl2 displayed hysteresis loops exhibiting steps due to quantum tunneling of magnetization (QTM). The loops were essentially temperature-independent below approximately 0.3 K, indicating only ground-state QTM between the lowest-lying Ms = +/-6 levels. Complexes 4-6 are thus confirmed as the first triangular SMMs. High-frequency EPR spectra of single crystals of 4.3CH2Cl2 have provided precise spin Hamiltonian parameters, giving D = -0.3 cm(-1), B40 = -3 x 10(-5) cm(-1), and g = 2.00. The spectra also suggest a significant transverse anisotropy of E > or = 0.015 cm(-1). The combined work demonstrates the feasibility that structural distortions of a magnetic core imposed by peripheral ligands can "switch on" the properties of an SMM.  相似文献

Complexes [Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}(μ-Cl)](2) (1) with Ar = C(6)H(4), C(6)H(3)NO(2)-5 or C(6)H(OMe)(3)-4,5,6, were obtained from the appropriate oxime, Li(2)[PdCl(4)] and NaOAc. They reacted with neutral monodentate C-, P- or N-donor ligands (L), with [PPN]Cl ([PPN] = Ph(3)P=N=PPh(3)), with Tl(acac) (acacH = acetylacetone), or with neutral bidentate ligands N^N (tetramethylethylenediamine (tmeda), 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine ((t)Bubpy)) in the presence of AgOTf or AgClO(4) to afford complexes of the types [Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}Cl(L)] (2), [PPN][Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}Cl(2)] (3), [Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}(acac)] (4) or [Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}(N^N)]X (X = OTf, ClO(4)) (5), respectively. Complexes 1 reacted with bidentate N^N ligands in the presence of a base to afford mononuclear zwitterionic oximato complexes [Pd{C,N-Ar{C(Me)=NO}-2}(N^N)] (6). Dehydrochlorination of complexes 2 by a base yielded dimeric oximato complexes of the type [Pd{μ-C,N,O-Ar{C(Me)[double bond, length as m-dash]NO}-2}L](2) (7). The insertion of XyNC into the Pd-C(aryl) bond of complex 2 produced the mononuclear iminoaryloxime derivative [Pd{C,N-C(=NXy)Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}Cl(CNXy)] (8) which, in turn, reacted with [AuCl(SMe(2))] to give [Pd{μ-N,C,N-C(=NXy)Ar{C(Me)=NOH}-2}Cl](2) (9) with loss of XyNC. Some of these complexes are, for any metal, the first containing cyclometalated aryloximato (6, 7) or iminoaryloxime (8, 9) ligands. Various crystal structures of complexes of the types 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9 have been determined.  相似文献
